In this study, a hybrid metals such as copper (Cu) and nickel (Ni) coated carbon fibers (Ni-Cu/CFs) was prepared by wet laid method to develop a randomly oriented sheet material for high-efficiency electromagnetic interference shielding with the enhanced durability. The prepared sheet materials show a high electromagnetic interference shielding efficiency of 69.4 to 93.0 dB. In addition, the hybrid metals coated Ni-Cu/CFs sheets showed very high durability with harsh chemical/thermal environments due to the effective corrosive and mechanical resistances of Ni surface. In this context, the Ni-Cu/CF sheet possesses longer service life than the Cu/CF sheet, that is, 1.7 times longer.
In this work, the effect of carbon nanofiber (CNF) on thermal properties, and friction and wear behavior of CNF/PMMA composites were examined. While thermal properties of the composites were investigated with differential scanning calorimetry, thermograyimetric analyzer, and dynamic mechanical analyzer friction and wear behaviors were examined using a friction and wear tester. The glass transition temperature (Tg), integral procedural decomposition temperature (IPDT), storage modulus (E'), and tan ${\delta}$ appeared at higher temperatures with increasing CNF content, which were probably attributed to the presence of strong interactions between the carbonaceous fillers and the PMMA resins matrix. The wear loss in the composites decreased at 0.1 wt% CNF and then increased with 5-10 wt% CNF content. This was due to the existence of large aspect ratio CNF in PMMA which led to an alignment of PMMA chains and an increase of mechanical interlocking, resulting in the formation of crosslinked structures between CNF and PMMA in the composite.

The mechanical properties of PTFE 100%, PTFT 90% + carbon black 10%, PTFE 85% + glass fiber 15%, PTFE 80% + glass fiber 15% + molybdenum disulfide ($MoS_2$) 5%, PTFE 75% + glass fiber 25%, and PTFE 75% + carbon black 18% + graphite 7% composites were investigated in this study. The differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) were used to examine the heat of fusion(${\Delta}H_f$) and thermal stability of the composites. Also, the wear surface and wear volume of PTFE lip seal were examined using the durability test. Wear surface was observed using scanning electron microscope (SEM). It was found that the hardness, wear resistance and durability were enhanced by adding glass fiber and molybdenum disulfide into pure PTFE, but tensile strength and elongation were decreased. According to the experimental results, the composite (PTFE + 15% glass fiber + 5% molybdenum disulfide) showed the best properties for applying to oil-seal among six types of PTFE composites.

This paper is a study on the friction damper, which is one of the seismic reinforcement devices for structures. This study developed a damper by replacing the internal friction material with ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), a type of composite material. In addition, this study applied a multi-friction method in which the internal structure where frictional force is generated is laminated in several layers. To verify the performance of the developed multi-friction damper, this study performed a characteristic analysis test for the basic physical properties, wear characteristics, and disc springs of the material. As a result of the wear test, the mass reduction rate of UHMWPE was 0.003%, which showed the best performance among the friction materials based on composite materials. Regarding the disc spring, this study secured the design basic data from the finite element analysis and experimental test results. Moreover, to confirm the quality stability of the developed multi-friction damper, this study performed an seismic load test on the damping device and the friction force change according to the torque value. The quality performance test result showed a linear frictional force change according to the torque value adjustment. As a result of the seismic load test, the allowable error of the friction damper was less than 15%, which is the standard required by the design standards, so it satisfies the requirements for seismic reinforcement devices.
As the wind blades become larger, they tend to be made by mixing glass fiber and carbon fiber, and it is important to increase the properties of the adhesive which adheres the two materials. The physical properties of the adhesive vary depending on the content of the additive and curing conditions. In this study, the change in adhesion strength with the difference between the CNT (Carbon Nanotube) content of the epoxy adhesive and the humidity during curing was evaluated. GFRP and CFRP specimens were prepared and adhered using an epoxy adhesive, and to examine changes in characteristics with carbon nanotube contents and with the humidity during curing of the epoxy adhesive, adhesion strength was evaluated by dividing the difference between carbon nanotube content and humidity. To find out the change with the CNT contents, the intelaminar shear strength (ILSS) test was performed by dividing the contents of the CNT into 0, 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, and 1 wt%, and to confirm the change with the humidity conditions, the adhesive was cured by dividing the humidity by 20, 50, and 80%. From the result of the experiment, the adhesive force decreased when the content was excessively large, although the adhesive property was enhanced by adding CNT to the epoxy adhesive. In addition, it was confirmed that the adhesion characteristics were not changed as the humidity increased.
Purpose: This study was performed in order to assess the effect of the surface treatment methods and the use of bonding agent on the shear bond strength (SBS) between the aged CAD-CAM (computer aided design-computer aided manufacturing) hybrid materials and added composite resin. Materials and methods: LAVA Ultimate (LU) and VITA ENAMIC (VE) specimens were age treated by submerging in a $37^{\circ}C$ water bath filled with artificial saliva (Xerova solution) for 30 days. The surface was ground with #220 SiC paper then the specimens were divided into 9 groups according to the combination of the surface treatment (no treatment, grinding, air abrasion with aluminum oxide, HF acid) and bonding agents (no bonding, Adper Single Bond 2, Single Bond Universal). Each group had 10 specimens. Specimens were repaired (added) using composite resin (Filtek Z250), then all the specimens were stored for 7 days in room temperature distilled water. SBS was measured and the fractured surfaces were observed with a scanning electron microscope (SEM). One-way ANOVA and Scheffe test were used for statistical analysis (${\alpha}=.05$). Results: Mostly groups with bonding agent treatment showed higher SBS than groups without bonding agent. Among the groups without bonding agent the groups with aluminum oxide treatment showed higher SBS. However there was no significant difference between groups except two subgroups within LU group, which revealed a significant increase of SBS when Single Bond Universal was used on the ground LU specimen. Conclusion: The use of bonding agent when repairing an aged LAVA Ultimate restoration is recommended.
This paper described analysis of acoustic emission parameter for the damage evaluation of type II vehicle fuel tank during fracture test. The observation of Kaiser effect, Felicity effect and creep effect is the means of damage evaluation method. It is possible to evaluate tank damage by the ratio of hit of over 60 dB and total hit. Damage mechanism of pressure tank can be estimated by analysis of average rise time, average amplitude.

This study is damage evaluation for CNG fuel tank during the burst test through the analysis of acoustic emission signals. Kaiser effect until the pressure 420 bar appears, but More than 420 bar by the creep effect appears significantly damaged vessels, and 480 bar pressure, the Kaiser effect of the rising phase was missing. Resonant transducer at 540 bar than 480 bar decreased activity such as energy and count Continually, but increased wideband transducer. In addition, through the rise time or frequency analysis of composite pressure vessels in order to observe the damage mechanisms wideband transducer is more effective than resonant transducer.
The paper presents the effects of environment on glass-cloth/epoxy composites exposed to humid air were investigated. Tests were performed at temperature 40$^{\circ}C$ and 70$^{\circ}C$ with the materials exposed to humid air at 76% and 90% relative humidity. This investigation surveyed include (a) the moisture absorption and desorption characteristics of single and multi layered composites exposed to steady and to transient ambients, and (b) the resulting changes in tensile strength, dielectric strength, tan $\delta$ and $\varepsilon_{\tau}$ and the effects of environment on these parameters were assessed.
