The purpose of this narrative inquiry is to explore two gifted elementary students' 'happiness experience'. They narrated that they experienced strong happiness at the moment 'doing something they really like for themselves ', 'trying and achieving in self-directed way', and 'feeling trust, love, and support from their family'. Also happiness was the results of their effort. They made an effort to reduce their negative emotion against happiness by 'controling their feeling doing something their favorite activities' and 'working again and again until they succeed'. The results of the study show that social and emotional support as well as help in the cognitive aspects is important. Especially, parents variable was an essential condition for them to have happiness experiences. More specifically, the study show that overgovernment and excessive intervention from parents should be distinguished from 'good caring' of their child. Practical implication of the study was discussed in depth.

인터넷 블로그를 통해 매일 당뇨일기를 작성하고 있는 문진순 님(53세)은 임신성 당뇨를 진단받은 후 지금까지 당뇨병과 동거동락하고 있습니다. 현재는 인슐린으로 혈당관리를 하고 있으며, 최근에는 8단위에서 4단위로 무리없이 운동과 식사조절을 통해 인슐린 용량을 줄여 나가고 있습니다. 문진순 님도 한 때 혈당관리를 잘 못해 혈당이 500~600mg/dl 까지 오를 정도로 당뇨관리에 어려움을 겪으신 분입니다. 그동안의 경험과 노하우를 바탕으로 나름의 방식을 터득해 혈당관리를 잘하고 있습니다.

(주)이오시스템 생산기술팀에서 근무하고 있는 박성천 차장은 대학과 대학원에서 광학설계와 응용광학을 전공하고 이오시스템에 입사하여 한 직장에서만 15년을 근무하여 얼마 전 있었던 이오시스템 창립 30주년 기념행사에서 장기근속상을 받았다. 새로운 전환과 도약을 시도하는 회사와 마찬가지로 그동안 다양한 실무경험과 노하우를 쌓으며 개인적으로나 회사 공적에도 많은 일조를 한 그 역시 올해 새로운 변화와 도약을 준비하고 있다. 이름도 생소한 '시스템 엔지니어' 라는 목표를 향해 '사회인 박사과정'에 도전하는 박성천 차장을 만나 그의 이야기를 들어보았다.

현대건설의 후원으로 교수 30명으로 구성된 중도지역방문교수단의 일원으로 Saudi Arabia, Bahrain 및 Kuwait에서의 현대건설의 작업현장을 시찰한 후, 필자는 약 2주일 예정으로 현대중공업의 전기사업부의 사람들과 더불어 북구제국에서의 전기공업시찰의 길로 떠났다. 필자로서는 첫 경험이 될 스웨덴의 ASEA와 서독의 Siemens 및 AEG-TELEFUNKEN계열의 공장과 연구소 시찰계획은 서울출발때부터 본인으로 하여금 여러가지 공상을 갖게 하였다. 짧은 시간이나마 중동지역 및 스웨덴과 서독에서 필자이 눈으로 직접보았고 그곳 회사중역 혹은 투사들과의 대화를 통하여 얻은 단편적인 이야기를 잡기형식으로 기술하고자 하나 독자들에게 혹시 지루한 감을 주지 않을지 염려된다.

사람의 외모를 나타내는 요소 중 하나인 모발은 그 사람의 새로운 이미지를 연출하기도 하고, 자신만의 개성과 자신감이 창출하기도 한다. 이런 측면에서 대머리 남성들은 대머리가 아닌 남성들에 비해 자신의 외모에 대한 자신감이 많이 결여되어 있을 뿐 아니라 심리적 측면에서도 심각한 영향을 준다. 탈모가 이들 남성에게 심각한 스트레스를 주는 이유는 머리숱이 적은 대머리 남성이 호감을 덜 주며, 10년은 더 늙어 보이기 때문이라고 한다. 모발은 사람의 첫인상을 결정짓는 중요한 요소라 보면 탈모증 환자들은 탈모로 인하여 자신의 신체상:Body Image)에 부정적이거나 만족하지 못하게 된다. 탈모 경험이 없는 사람들은 절대로 알지 못하는 그들만의 고민을 경희대병원에서 탈모환자들을 대상으로 설문조사를 벌였다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the teachers' multi-media application ability, their perception on the use of multi-media for story-telling, and actual use in class. The survey, using a questionnaire, was conducted targeting 225 teachers in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Incheon. The results of the study are as follows: Firstly, teachers who were younger, had a higher level of education, were experienced in taking multi-media courses, and took charge of larger classes showed better ability of multi-media application. And teachers who were trained on multi media as well as kindergarten teachers indicated a more positive perception about applying multi-media for story-telling. In addition, teachers who had higher levels of education, were experienced in taking multi-media courses, and teaching larger classes at national/public institutions applied multi-media more frequently. Secondly, the teachers' ability of applying multi-media, their perception on the use of multi-media for story-telling, and their multi-media use in class indicated strong positive correlations. Thirdly, a teacher's perception on the significance of the multi-media application for story-telling, their skills for multi-media use, the size of classes, and the training experiences on multi-media affected their actual application of multi-media for story-telling.

Danjong had suffered the worst misfortune in the history of Lee Dynasty. His throne was usurped by Sejo, his uncle and he was banished to Youngwol where he ended his life for good. Youngwol remembers the last moment of this tragic person clearly through the various traditional stories passed down from the past. In this study, the works assumed to be formed in the contemporary times among Danjong-related stories were targeted. Time of story creation is not known but it could be assumed that the time when heroine of the story was lived may be coincided with the time of traditional story creation, in this story created in a form of experience story. If any objects or elements that may lead to time of traditional story are contained in the story, we may be able to identify the time of traditional story. All of , and were created in the contemporary times. However, these traditional stories are not new at all. If any personal experience story is added on the existing transmitted traditional story, deviation of traditional story near to recreation is taken place. Traditional Danjong story created like this in the contemporary times have some characteristics. First, transmission power of maintaining Danjong story up to the present times was expanded from a nature of misfortune and holiness to general eccentricity. Ability of deity derived from Danjong's grief and grudge is weakened as time goes by and this story is substituted by an amazing things that can be experienced by anybody. Second, at present, Danjong story is transformed to a form of folktale. Danjong story has developed into a myth through deification from a personal legend. This myth is transformed into a folktale everybody can experience in the contemporary times. Third, this story has been recreated in a form of experience story, not a modification. It is said that as the personal experience story is combined with existing traditional stories, a new work of traditional story is created. It could be observed that through contemporary Danjong story, traditional story of historical person could be created in the contemporary times as well and additionally, a process that personal experience story is positioned as a traditional story could be observed. Now is the time to pay attention to various traditional stories being created in the contemporary times like experience stories.

This study examined the experiences and meanings of career transition becoming a counselor by examining the experiences of career transition process before two women became counselors through the narrative inquiry method. To do this, two counselors with career counseling qualifications and two or more career transition experiences were selected as research participants. The results are as follows. First, they had several career experiences without having the opportunity to think about their interests or aptitudes. Second, it was an experience that career transition adapts itself. Third, as they went through various occupations, they gradually went to the work and study they wanted. Fourth, They were satisfied with the profession of the counselor they had chosen, and they were inspecting themselves as a counselor. In this study, it is meaningful to accept the career transition as a part of life and to confirm the meaning of career transition experience as a counselor walking the path of counseling specialist.

This study examined the influence of mothers' reading and scaffolding behaviors on children's emotional experiences and memory recall during picture book reading. Sixty children, aged 6 and their mothers participated in this study. Each child-mother dyad was observed in a lab setting which was designed to evaluate child-mother interactions during a picture book reading. The data were analyzed using correlation and multiple regression techniques. Our results indicated that mothers' task-oriented reading behavior affected the children's lack of positive emotions, whereas mothers' fun-oriented reading behavior was associated with the children's positive emotions. The task-oriented reading behavior also accounted for children's poor memory performance in relation to the book. These results were discussed in terms of the relationship between emotion and cognition through book reading experiences.

L'Espoir, a novel by Andre Malraux, contains traits of the genre of literacy reportage that depicts the full account of the Spanish Civil War as non-fiction based on his personal experience of participating in war; the novel has been dramatized into a semi-documentary film that corresponds to reportage literature. A semi-documentary film is the genre of film that pursues realistic illustration of social incidents or phenomenon. Despite difference in types of genre of the novel and the film L'Espoir, such creative activities deserve close relevance and considerable narrative connectivity. Therefore, $G{\acute{e}}rard$ Genette's narrative discourse of novel and film based on narrative theory carries value of research. Every kind of story, in a narrative message, has duplicate times in which story time and discourse time are different. This is because, in a narrative message, one event may occur before or later than another, told lengthily or concisely, and aroused once or repeatedly. Accordingly, analyzing differing timeliness of the actual event occurring and of recording that event is in terms of order, duration, and frequency. Since timeliness of order, duration, and frequency indicates dramatic pace that controls the passage of a story, it appears as an editorial notion in the novel and the film L'Espoir. It is an aesthetic discourse raising curiosity and shock, the correspondence of time in arranging, summarizing, deleting the story. In addition, Genette mentions notions of speech and voice to clearly distinguish position and focalization of a narrator or a speaker in text. The necessity to discriminate 'who speaks' and 'who sees' comes from difference in views of the narrator of text and the text. The matter of 'who speaks' is about who portrays narrator of the story. However, 'who sees' is related to from whose stance the story is being narrated. In the novel L'Espoir, change of focalization was ushered through zero focalization and internal focalization, and pertains to the multicamera in the film. Also, the frame story was commonly taken as metadiegetic type of voice in both film and novel of L'Espoir. In sum, narrative discourse in the novel and the film L'Espoir is the dimension of story communication among text, the narrator, and recipient.
