Adsorption of H Atoms on the Si(111)$4{\times}1$-In Surface (Si(111)$4{\times}1$-In 표면에의 수소원자 흡착 연구)

  • Using scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) measurements, we studied the adsorption of hydrogen on the Si(111)$4{\times}1$-In surface at room temperature. The H atom features are found to be located between the two protrusions in one side of the $4{\times}1$ chain. The adsorbed H preferentially occupies one of the two zigzag In subchains, suggesting that the adsorption of H is influenced by the subsurface structure. The adsorbed H atom induces not only a localized distortion but also perturbs the distant region and results in a period-doubling modulations in the STM images. This H-induced perturbation differs from the Na-Induced perturbation on the same surface.

An Identification and Feature Search System for Scanned Comics (스캔 만화도서 식별 및 특징 검색 시스템)

  • In this paper, we represent a system of identification and feature search for scanned comics in consideration of their content characteristics. For creating the feature of the scanned comics, we utilize a method of hierarchical symmetry fingerprinting. Proposed identification and search system is designed to give online service provider, such as Webhard, an immediate identification result under conditions of huge volume of the scanned comics. In simulation part, we analyze the robustness of the identification of the fingerprint to image modification such as rotation and translation. Also, we represent a structure of database for fast matching in feature point database, and compare search performance between other existing searching methods such as full-search and most significant feature search.

  • We proposed a method for locating of mouth using deformable templates, described by a parameterized template. An energy function is defined which links, edges, peaks, valleys in image intensity to corresponding properties of the template. The template deforms itself by altering its parameter values to minimize the energy function. The minimized energy function's parameter values can be used as descriptors for the feature. We propose a method for locating mouth fast, accurately by limiting a range of parameters' value and getting initial value of parameters' by preprocessing.

Object Recognition by Fourier Descriptor (푸리에 서술자를 이용한 물체 인식)

  • Fourier Descriptors(FD) is a common way for representing the boundary of an object. In this paper, an algorithm has been implemented to do object recognition by using FD. This is applied to various tool object, and is tested. This implementation contains two parts: image acquisition and object recognition. Appropriate lighting, viewing angle, and strong contrast of background and object are taken into account in this aspect. Minimum distances are calculated by using FD's and boundary matching among objects on the process of object recognition. Rotation, translation and scaling of the object will not influence the performance of the algorithm. Experiments show that we can use only one fourth of 1024 FD coefficients to do raped object recognition.

A Study on School Uniform and Ornaments Behaviors of High School Girls (여고생의 교복 및 장식 행동에 관한 연구 -경상남도 마산.창원 지역을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine how high school girl students used their school uniforms and what types of ornaments they preferred, in an effort to identify the image of school uniform. The result of this study were as follow: First, 52.6 percent of the students investigated altered their uniforms, and as fur the major alteration style, revival one to take them in to be well-fitting was dominant. But concerning skirts, hip-hop style was also found. The students viewed ornaments more favorably, as the larger group of the students perceived that it was necessary to restrict the school-uniform alteration yet not to control ornaments. Concerning how much they wore school uniforms, most of them continued to wear them outside school in many cases. Specifically, those who engaged in pastime or went shopping wearing school uniforms enjoyed altering them, and they also enjoyed using ornaments that weren't allowed by the school dress code. Second, as to school-uniform image, elegant image was most preferred, followed by practical, innocent and fashion-conscious ones. They were most preferred with its elegant image. Third, as to ornaments image, they were most preferred with its positive image.

  • A number of studies have shown that students have a stereotyped image of a scientist, and this image is often a rather negative. Earlier work on images of the scientist revealed to be consistent across the various social classes and across countries. This study aimed to examine a Korean students' stereotyped images of scientist, compare it with earlier work, and also find out whether students have other ideas about scientist, apart from the stereotyped image. To these purposes, modified DAST and individual interviews were carried out with 217 students and 53 students, respectively. The results are as follows : 1. Most of the students portrayed the scientist as a neat and young man with well-featured face, which was different from earlier studies. 2. Year 3 boys described the scientist as a mu, but year 3 girls as a woman. 3. Most of the students gave positive answers which were at variance with the streotyped image. 4. An interview asking only one question was a complement to DAST. It was concluded that students have private perceptions of scientists and their work, as well as a stereotyped image.

  • Deep Learning, which is being used in various fields recently, is being threatened with Adversarial Attack. In this paper, we experimentally verify that the classification accuracy is lowered by adversarial samples generated by malicious attackers in image classification models. We used MNIST dataset and measured the detection accuracy by injecting adversarial samples into the Autoencoder classification model and the CNN (Convolution neural network) classification model, which are created using the Tensorflow library and the Pytorch library. Adversarial samples were generated by transforming MNIST test dataset with JSMA(Jacobian-based Saliency Map Attack) and FGSM(Fast Gradient Sign Method). When injected into the classification model, detection accuracy decreased by at least 21.82% up to 39.08%.

  • This paper analyzed the body images of the posthuman characters in digital games and the nomadic subjects formed through gameplay. Nomadic Subject is the subject with a complex and non-single identity that appears as a posthuman identity. The player experiences posthuman subject directly in the process of controlling characters. Body images of posthuman characters are categorized into three types that imitate idealized bodies, deform the bodies through articulation, and extend the bodies through equipment. The player builds ethical identity by making choices under the constraints of the game.

  • The Vampire has relatively universal images in through the cultural and verbal usages. The comic Higajima and movie display the latest image of Japanese Vampire of asian mode of production. After the Meiji political reformation of 18th Century, Japanese had rapidly changed into European style in every places. However, the Higajima is denied the structural changes, it is insisted that the changing is only the skin deep and colour of hair but the structure of the society is same as feudal Japan. Asian mode of production is claimed by Karl Marx, according to him, it is before the historical developing model in Europe and it was controversial. The major character of modern Japanese history would be the change of hierarchy of king-shogun-samurai-peasant based on the regional ground. The feudal structure is changed by the Meiji reformation and Japan was rushed for the westernized country rather than the asian mode of production. However, Higajima argued that the changing is just the clothes of ruler but the democracy and individual citizenship was lost in that reformation. Vampire is cursed creature that cannot see the sun and it has not the functioned as a human organ. For human it is dead but this creature actively moves and stronger than human and much superior than human in every aspects. It is managed the feeding through the suck the human blood and power to seduction. Even it is not exist, it is quite symbolic phenomenon of cultural usage of superior entity of chain of feeding. The aim of this paper is display the symbolic code Vampire of Asian mode of production in Higajima and political struggling of Japan in actual. To search of the cultural meaning and possibility of the Korean solution of modernity.

  • The main stream of consumption about the products is tend to transfer from low price value with mass production, to the second value of products, such as pleasure, familiarity, humor, and metaphor. This second value is closely connected to a redundancy which are also related to modern science as well as product design. These terms such as matrials, identity, and gravitation, disappeared gradually, and these are substituted with an uncertainty principle, a fortuity, a contradictory concept, entropy etc. In sum this study focuses on the tendency of intelligency issue the recent design trends. This result shows that The 4th Column Thinking and Formation System which is related to an expansion and diversity of design intellectual ideas.
