Automatic Crack Detection on Pressed Panels Using Camera Image Processing with Local Amplitude Mapping (카메라 이미지 처리를 통한 프레스 패널의 크랙결함 검출)

  • Crack detection on panels during manufacturing process is an important step for ensuring the product quality. The accuracy and efficiency of traditional crack detection methods, which are performed by eye inspection, are dependent on human inspectors. Therefore, implementation of an on-line and precise crack detection is required during the panel pressing process. In this paper, a regular CCTV camera system is utilized to obtain images of panel products and an image process based crack detection technique is developed. This technique uses a comparison between the base image and a test image using an amplitude mapping of the local image. Experiments are performed in the laboratory and in the actual manufacturing lines to evaluate the performance of the developed technique. Experimental results indicate that the proposed technique could be used to effectively detect a crack on panels with high speed.

Fast Image Splicing Detection Algorithm Using Markov Features (마코프 특징을 이용하는 고속 위조 영상 검출 알고리즘)

  • Nowadays, image manipulation is enormously popular and easier than ever with tons of convenient images editing tools. After several simple operations, users can get visually attractive images which easily trick viewers. In this paper, we propose a fast algorithm which can detect the image splicing using the Markov features. The proposed algorithm reduces the computational complexity by removing unnecessary Markov features which are not used in the image splicing detection process. The performance of the proposed algorithm is evaluated using a famous image splicing dataset which is publicly available. The experimental results show that the proposed technique outperforms the state-of-the-art splicing detection methods.

Inside Wall Frame Detection Method Based on Single Image (단일이미지에 기반한 내벽구조 검출 방법)

  • In this paper, we are proposing improved vanishing points detection and segments labeling methods for inside wall frame detection from indoor image of a piece of having a colour RGB. A lot of research related to recognizing the frame of artificial structures from the image is being performed due to increase in demand for AR technology. But detect the inside wall frame in indoor images have many objects that caused the occlusion is still a difficult issue. Inner wall frame detection methods are usually segment labeling methods and detect vanishing point methods are used together. In order to improve the vanishing point detection method we proposed using inner wall orthogonality which forms the cube. Also we proposed labeling method using tree based learning and superpixel based segmentation method for labelingthe segments in indoor images. Finally, in experiments have shown improved results about inside wall frame detection according to our methods.

  • 본 논문에서는 의사 2차원 은닉 마르코프 모델의 구조로 생성한 마르코프 체인형 확률모형에 의한 인쇄체문자 이미지의 모델링에 대해 논한다. 이미지 데이터에서 바로 모델을 실시간 생성하며 문자 인식 및 검출에 응용할 수 있다. 실험에 의하면, 이 방법을 통해 특정 낱말이 포함된 문장에서 숫자를 인식, 한글을 검출할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

Text extraction in images using simplify color and edges pattern analysis (색상 단순화와 윤곽선 패턴 분석을 통한 이미지에서의 글자추출)

  • In this paper, we propose a text extraction method by pattern analysis on contour for effective text detection in image. Text extraction algorithms using edge based methods show good performance in images with simple backgrounds, The images of complex background has a poor performance shortcomings. The proposed method simplifies the color of the image by using K-means clustering in the preprocessing process to detect the character region in the image. Enhance the boundaries of the object through the High pass filter to improve the inaccuracy of the boundary of the object in the color simplification process. Then, by using the difference between the expansion and erosion of the morphology technique, the edges of the object is detected, and the character candidate region is discriminated by analyzing the pattern of the contour portion of the acquired region to remove the unnecessary region (picture, background). As a final result, we have shown that the characters included in the candidate character region are extracted by removing unnecessary regions.

  • 자연이미지에 내포된 텍스트는 많은 정보를 제공함으로 이를 효과적으로 검출하여 다양한 응용분야에 활용될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 텍스트 영역의 에지 특징과 국부 최소/최대 변환을 이용하여 자연이미지로부터 텍스트 영역 검출 방법을 제안한다. 에지 검출은 캐니-에지 검출기로 추출하고, 국부 최소/최대 변환을 이용하여 텍스트 영역의 연결성분을 추출한다. 각각 추출된 에지 및 연결성분으로부터 텍스트 영역 후보를 검출하고, 각각의 결과를 결합하여 최종적인 텍스트 후보 영역을 검출하고, 후보 텍스트 영역에 대한 검증을 수행함으로서 최종적인 텍스트 영역을 검출한다. 제안한 방법은 다양한 종류의 자연이미지를 대상으로 실험한 결과, 에지 및 연결성분의 두 가지 특징을 결합함으로서 자연이미지에 존재하는 다양한 형태의 텍스트 영역을 효과적으로 검출하였다.

  • 얼굴검출기술의 발전으로 인하여, 다양한 분야에 얼굴 검출을 활용한 기술이 이용되고 있다. 최근 Viola 와 Jones 의 얼굴검출 방법이 신뢰도 있는 검출률과 빠른 연산속도로 인하여 주로 이용되고 있다. 하지만 고해상도 이미지와 제한된 하드웨어를 사용하는 시스템의 경우, 실시간 처리가 어려워지는 문제가 있다. 본 논문에서는 이와 같은 문제를 해결하고자 거리 정보를 이용한 빠른 얼굴검출방법을 제안한다. 속도 개선을 위해 먼저 거리 정보를 이용하여 영상의 불필요한 부분을 제거하고, 피부색상정보를 이용하여 관심영역을 설정한다. 또 크기에 대응하기 위해 피라미드 이미지를 이용하는 방법 대신, 거리 정보를 이용하여 얼굴의 크기를 추정한다. 마지막으로 검색창 내의 거리 분산을 계산하여, 평평하거나 굴곡이 심한 영역을 제거함으로 얼굴 검출 속도를 개선하였다. 실험결과 기존 방법에 비해 더 빠른 검출속도와 유사한 검출성능을 확인할 수 있었다.

Eye Localization based on Multi-Scale Gabor Feature Vector Model (다중 스케일 가버 특징 벡터 모델 기반 눈좌표 검출)

  • Eye localization is necessary for face recognition and related application areas. Most of eye localization algorithms reported thus far still need to be improved about precision and computational time for successful applications. In this paper, we propose an improved eye localization method based on multi-scale Gator feature vector models. The proposed method first tries to locate eyes in the downscaled face image by utilizing Gabor Jet similarity between Gabor feature vector at an initial eye coordinates and the eye model bunch of the corresponding scale. The proposed method finally locates eyes in the original input face image after it processes in the same way recursively in each scaled face image by using the eye coordinates localized in the downscaled image as initial eye coordinates. Experiments verify that our proposed method improves the precision rate without causing much computational overhead compared with other eye localization methods reported in the previous researches.

SIFT based Image Similarity Search using an Edge Image Pyramid and an Interesting Region Detection (윤곽선 이미지 피라미드와 관심영역 검출을 이용한 SIFT 기반 이미지 유사성 검색)

  • SIFT is popularly used in computer vision application such as object recognition, motion tracking, and 3D reconstruction among various shape descriptors. However, it is not easy to apply SIFT into the image similarity search as it is since it uses many high dimensional keypoint vectors. In this paper, we present a SIFT based image similarity search method using an edge image pyramid and an interesting region detection. The proposed method extracts keypoints, which is invariant to contrast, scale, and rotation of image, by using the edge image pyramid and removes many unnecessary keypoints from the image by using the hough transform. The proposed hough transform can detect objects of ellipse type so that it can be used to find interesting regions. Experimental results demonstrate that the retrieval performance of the proposed method is about 20% better than that of traditional SIFT in average recall.

Image Sensor Module for Detecting Space Illuminance in Indoor Environment (실내 환경의 공간조도 검출을 위한 이미지센서모듈)

  • The traditional illuminance intensity detection method using a single sensor has a problem that uniformity of illuminance detection is deteriorated depending on the measurement position due to the narrow FOV characteristic. In order to overcome this problem, a method of detecting an average illuminance value through a plurality of illuminance sensors is used, but the complexity and detection error are increased. In this paper, we propose a illuminance intensity detection method based on a single image sensor with wide FOV. The proposed method can solve the problems such as system complexity and error increase of existing illuminance sensor. The test results show that the difference of average value is 12% using a illuminance sensor, 10.7% using five illuminance sensors, and 6.2% using an image sensor compared with the reference value using the color difference illuminometer. It is confirmed that the proposed method can easily and accurately detect the space illuminance with improved uniformity.
