Study on the Instructors' Factors Affecting Student Performance Under e-Learning Environment (이러닝에서 교수자 역할이 학습성과에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구)

  • Instructor willingness to accept and literacy is an e-leaning important variable to expect a positive effect of the introduction of e-learning from the perspective of university. The role of faculty is not only instructor but also content experts, curriculum designers, graphics professionals, media director or programmer. This study suggest as the role of instructor as pedagogical, managerial, social and technical aspect for effective learning outcomes.

Study on e-Learning Platform for Higher Education in Developing Countries - Case Study of Cambodia (개발도상국 고등교육을 위한 이러닝 플랫폼에 관한 연구 - 캄보디아 사례를 중심으로)

  • We investigated the e-learning platforms for higher education in developing countries. First, we introduced e-learning environmental factors such as ICT technology as well as ASEAN Cyber University (ACU) project for developing countries. And then, we presented Cambodian case as an example of e-learning platform for developing countries. We analyzed the national education policy and ICT environment as well as the demands and obstacles of e-learning in Cambodia. We derived e-learning strategies and plans based on the analysis results, and finally proposed e-learning platform C-MOOC Net. In order to verify the proposed scheme, we developed prototype of C-MOOC Net system which is implemented based on open software. As a result, we have met the requirement of networking the C-MOOC hub, supporting localization of local language and personalization of favorite courses respectively.

  • So far, various researches have been conducted on evaluation of e-learning software, but subjective evaluation criteria are formed according to the classification presented from the viewpoint of the researcher rather than systematized form according to related standards. In addition, standards for software evaluation are continuously being supplemented for practical use, so it is urgent to establish evaluation bases by establishing evaluation criteria. Therefore, in order to establish the quality evaluation standard of e-learning software, this study analyzes the quality requirements of e-learning software based on the usability system among the quality characteristics of ISO/IEC 25000 series. This evaluation standard is distinguished by the fact that the evaluation standard of e-learning software that reflects the latest trend of related standardization has been established and practical utilization has been improved. It can be used effectively for quality evaluation and certification of e-learning software in the future.

  • In this study, we investigated the effect of the modification of the system for vocational education and training support in 2009 has on the e-learning industry in South Korea, and diagnosed the problems associated with it. And we proposed on the direction of policy promotion that can contribute to the realization of creative economy by presenting improvement alternatives of the legal system on the vocational education and training that smart learning and creative convergence HRD are included.

  • Nowadays, demand for human resource for the e-learning industry is rapidly increasing along with the expansion of e-learning market capacity. However, there arc numerous difficulties in expansion and industrialization of e-learning due to insufficient supply of human resources to meet the demand. Therefore, the goal of this study is to present various policy measures that can supplement the supply of e-learn ing manpower. Overall contents of this study focus on presenting the long-term directions for fostering of human resources for e-learning industry. Among these, role of government policies for fostering of human resources for e-learning industry is being particularly emphasized because e-learning industry is still at its infant stage.

A Collaborative Reputation System for e-Learning Content (협업적 이러닝 콘텐츠 평판시스템 연구)

  • Reputation systems aggregate users' feedback after the completion of a transaction and compute the "reputation" of products, services, or providers, which can assist other users in decision-making in the future. With the rapid growth of online e-Learning content providing services, a suitable reputation system for more credible e-Learning content delivery has become important and is essential if educational content providers are to remain competitive. Most existing reputation systems focus on generating ratings only for user reputation; they fail to consider the reputations of products or services(item reputation). However, it is essential for B2C e-Learning services to have a reliable reputation rating mechanism for items since they offer guidance for decision-making by presenting the ranks or ratings of e-Learning content items. To overcome this problem, we propose a novel collaborative filtering based reputation rating method. Collaborative filtering, one of the most successful recommendation methods, can be used to improve a reputation system. In this method, dual information sources are formed with groups of co-oriented users and expert users and to adapt it to the reputation rating mechanism. We have evaluated its performance experimentally by comparing various reputation systems.

Design and Implementation of Interactive e-Learning Contents for OpenCourseWare (오픈코스웨어를 위한 인터렉티브 이러닝 콘텐츠 설계 및 구현)

  • This paper deals with the design and implementation of interactive e-learning contents for OpenCourseWare. OpenCourseWare, also known as OCW began at MIT in October 2002. OCW is a free and open digital contents of high quality college and university level educational materials. In this paper, we have designed and implemented interactive e-learning contents for a regular course of introduction to java programing language and OCW of D University. We have developed a variety of multimedia elements, such as screen videos of practical exercise and animations in order to improve the effectiveness of learning. These e-learning contents are consist of interactive learning components that users can interact directly with. The e-learning contents developed in this study has been effectively applied to OCW and a regular course opened in the first semester of 2012.

  • This paper derives the strategic implications of smart learning as a sophisticated alternative to e-learning through the convergence approach of e-learning and Bigdata based on the practices of developed countries. To this, this paper derives e-Learning status and challenges issues in Korea, and then, analyzes the convergence case of e-learning and data science in major foreign advanced companies and universities. In addition, this study conducts an awareness survey on Bigdata applied for employees of e-learning companies, and then derives a strategic alternative to the Bigdata convergence-based smart learning effectiveness in the industry with the analysis of the survey data.

  • The ICT convergence and intelligence information technology has many influences on the whole smart society in the $4^{th}$ industrial revolution era. However, preparations degree of our country is not high as for the intelligence information technology. It is not easy to adopt a new technology on education for cultivating the creative future human resources to match a pace with intelligent smart society. In addition, it is hard work to find and derive the appropriate technology for education because proper and effective proof includes much difficulties. Therefore, this study develop the e-learning standard technology framework through the derivation of educational standard technology element and the suggestion of medium and long term standardization framework for the intelligence information society.
