  • Trainee can enhance his perception of and interaction with the real world by displayed virtual objects in simulation using image processing technology. Therefore, it is essential for realistic simulation to determine the occlusion areas of the virtual object produces after registering real image and virtual object exactly. In this paper, we proposed the new method to solve occlusions which happens during virtual target moves according to the simulated route on real image using improved object contour extraction by neighboring edge search and picking algorithm. After we acquire the detailed contour of complex objects by proposed contour extraction algorithm, we extract the three dimensional information of the position happening occlusion by using MER for performance improvement. In the experiment, we compared proposed method with existed method and preyed the effectiveness in the environment which a partial occlusions happens.

  • Two-dimensional nonlinear free-surface wave problems are analyzed with consideration of viscosity. Navier-Stokes equation and continuity equation are solved by the application of Finite Analytic Method, and MAC scheme is used far the treatment of free surface. Surface tension effect is also considered and laminar flow is assumed. The free-surface waves in shallow water, the flows around a vortex-pair with free surface and the wave ahead of a rectangular body are simulated to test the present numerical scheme. In the shallow water problem, viscous effect due to the friction on the bottom is observed. In the second problem, the approach of a vortex-pair to the free surface is simulated to examine the interaction of vortex-pair with the free surface. In the third problem, the wave ahead of a semi-infinite floating body is simulated.

  • Many traditional retailers are losing money due to loss and accidents in managing their carts. Therefore, we intend to solve these problems by installing a raspberry pie with various functions in order to efficiently manage the cart. First, use ultrasonic sensors to measure the distance between the cart and the object, use vibration sensors to vary the number of vibration sensors, change the number of vibrations to the user, and use Beacon to transmit the cart in real time. It also contributes to consumers' spending patterns and revenue generation by identifying consumers' consumption patterns. Problems with lost are also resolved by issuing an audible warning (outside of Mart) if a distance is removed (outside of Mart).

  • In this study, the hydrodynamic characteristics of Weis-Fogh type water turbine were calculated by the advanced vortex method. The wing (NACA0010 airfoil) and both channel walls were approximated by source and vortex panels, and free vortices are introduced away from the body surfaces. The distance from the trailing edge of the wing to the wing axis, the width of the water channel and the maximum opening angle were selected as the calculation parameters, the important design factors. The maximum efficiency and the power coefficient for one wing of this water turbine were 26% and 0.4 at velocity ratio U/V=2.0 respectively. The flow field of this water turbine is very complex because the wing moves unsteadily in the channel. However, using the advanced vortex method, it could be calculated accurately.

  • Face detection in real-time video constitutes one of the major trend in face recognition. In this paper, we propose a face detection algorithm using the skin color and Haar-like feature in real-time video. The proposed algorithm is followed by three sequences; First, moving objects are detected by difference-method in YCbCr coordinates, and then by using Haar-like features, face candidate regions of the moving objects is selected. Finally we extract the most possible face candidates by comparing the pixel values of face candidates with the skin color. In order to prevent a mistake. we use similar features or skin color to detect a face by selecting a adaptive ROI and improve the processing speed in real-time video. The computer simulation shows the validity of the proposed method that the processing speed is improved by 30% than previous works and the detection success rate is 96.8%.

  • In this paper we proposed an object tracking system that detects the abandoned and removed objects, which is to be used in the intelligent surveillance applications. After the GMM based background subtraction and by using histogram method, the static region is identified to detect abandoned and removed objects. Since the system is implemented on DSP chip, it operates in realtime and is programmable. The input videos used in the experiment contain various indoor and outdoor scenes, and they are categorized into three different complexities; low, midium and high. By 10 times of experiment, we obtained high detection ratio at low and medium complexity sequences. On the high complexity video, successful detection ratio was relatively low because the scene contains crowdedness and repeated occlusion. In the future work, these complicated situation should be solved.

  • The introduction of invasive marine species of living things into new environments by ship's ballast water, attached to ships' hulls and via other vectors has been identified as one of the four greatest threats to the world's oceans by Global Environment Facility(GEF). Making use of the new technology of alpha-AL$_2$O$_3$ dielectric barrier layer, the strong electric-field gas discharge was introduced and obtained between micro-gap electrodes at high pressure (∼105㎩) of $O_2$ in air and $H_2O$ in seawater. The mixed air with $H_2O$ could be ionized and dissociated into large numbers of activated particles of OH, $O_2$+, O(1D), HO$_2$ and so on, and then dissolved into the ballast water to form dissolved hydroxyl radical with the concentration of ∼20mg/L. Therefore, the invasive marine species was treated effectively through the hydroxyl radical dissolved pipeline of ballast water by strong electric -field discharge.

  • This paper describes development of Polarized Stereo Monitoring System (KAERI-PSM) and compares the remote handling performance of KAERI-PSM with that of other monitoring systems, electric shutter type stereo monitoring system and general TV monitoring system. Remote handling performance is evaluated by total time and error number on remote operating experiments. Four kinds of remote handling experiments are carried out through 1) directly 2) general TV 3) electric shutter type monitor, and 4) KAERI-PSM. In these experiments six employees are participated and PUMA robot with force-torque reflectional joystic is used. The result of experiments show that camera angle against object is significant factor in monitoring and stereo monitoring system give more performance benifits in terms of accuracy and speed of remote handling operation than general TV monitoring system. In comparision of the polarized and electric shutter type stereo monitoring system, both have similar accuracy and speed for remote handling operation, but the former is superior in image quality and stability of the performance.

  • In this paper, we study the method for desired signals estimation that array antennas are received signals. We apply sub spatial method of direction of arrival algorithm and adaptive array antennas in order to remove interference and noise signal of received antenna signals. Array response vector of adaptive array antenna is probability, it is correctly estimation of direction of arrival of targets to update weight signal. Desired signals are estimated updating covariance matrix after moving interference and noise signals among received signals. We estimate signals using eigen decomposition and eigen value, high resolution direction of arrival estimation algorithm is devided signal sub spatial and noise sub spatial. Though simulation, we analyze to compare proposed method with general method.

  • On live performance such as play and musical, various stage effects are utilized to attract a diverse audience. These stage effects include traditional direction techniques, striking display effects and all kinds of ways of being immersed in the scene. In this paper, we propose a novel digital visual effects(digilog) for controlling the surface texture of objects based on spatial augmented reality. For this purpose, we present a method of neutralizing the appearance of an arbitrary object using a projector-camera system. To make the object appear as if it is a transparent object by projecting a carefully determined compensation image onto the surface of objects, we use the homography method for a simple and effective off-line projector-camera calibration. The successful uses of the basic algorithm of Smart Projector for measuring radiometric parameters led us believe that this method may be used for temporal variation of plays and musicals.
