인터넷의 발달과 이동단말기 서비스의 확대는 이동단말기를 이용한 인터넷 서비스의 요구를 증대시키고 있다. 이동 환경에서의 인터넷 서비스를 지원하기 위해서는 기존 유선망에서 널리 사용되고 있는 TCP 프로토콜의 개선이 반드시 필요하다. TCP 프로토콜의 개선은 이동단말기의 여러 제약점들을 극복하는 문제에 집중되어 있다. 첫째, 무선링크(wireless line)에서 나타나는 패킷손실의 원인에서 혼잡에 의한 원인과 링크자체의 전송에러(transmission error)에 의한 원인을 구별해 내는 능력을 부가하여야 한다. 둘째로, 이동단말기의 협소한 대역폭으로 인한 TCP 프로토콜의 헤더 압축에 대한 개선이 필요하다. 셋째로, 이동단말기의 위치정보를 실시간으로 관리할 수 있는 기능과 하위계층의 프로토콜과의 상호연동 기능도 추가되어야 할 것이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 여러 가지 개선 방안들 중에서 무선링크의 사용으로 인한 패킷 손실의 원인을 구별해 내고 그 개별적 원인에 따라 적절하게 제어하는 기법들을 소개하고 비교분석한다.

The change in performance of the mobile communication field took place due to jumping development of technology, so high performance terminals that anyone can directly search and amend desired information anywhere and anytime, namely, the mobile communication terminals called Smartphone were released to the market. The terminal can store informations that an individual stored, for example, call log, where to make contact and address of acquaintances, transmit/receive message and mail, photographs and videos, etc., but there are worries on surreptitious use of other people due to leaking of personal information through loss or theft of these terminals because of several reasons, so the present thesis aims to realize a method that remotely control information inside a terminal in case of loss of a mobile communication terminal.

An ubiquitous environment has been developed in order to allow users to use information more easily. These environments are based on advanced development of mobile ubiquitous hardwares. Currently, a various user interfaces are developed for mobile ubiquitous devices using the graphic or voice. In this paper, propose a specialized graphical user interface which is based on analysis of a user profile. This user interface can provides suitable interface for individual users using XML information on the small screen of mobile ubiquitous devices.

이동통신 환경에서, 이동단말기와 기지국 사이에 안전한 통신을 제공하기 위한 많은 프로토콜들이 제안되어왔다. 그러나 이동단말기 의 부족한 계산능력 때문에 공개키를 이용한 프로토콜은 많은 장점에도 불구하고 그 실용성을 검증받기 힘들었다. 본 논문은 이동단말기 의 부족한 계산능력으로도 공개키를 이용해 상호인증 및 세션키 공유를 효율적으로 수행할 수 있는 프로토콜을 제안한다. 제안된 프로토콜은 최근 제안된 SASC 프로토콜을 적용하여 이동단말기의 부족한 계산능력을 보충하였다.

최근 이동통신기술이 급속히 발달함에 따라 국내는 물론 전세계 이동통신업계는 제 3세대 이동통신서비스의 성공여부에 많은 관심을 쏟고 있다. 지금까지의 이동통신산업의 성장이 빠른 기술개발에 의존한 기술추동적(technology-push) 성격을 지녔다면, 이동통신시장이 포화상태에 근접하고 있는 최근에는 서비스 및 장비 양면에서의 경쟁이 치열해 짐으로써 소비자의 기술에 대한 선택이 더욱 중요해짐에 따라 수요견인적(demand-pull) 기술혁신이 예상된다. 따라서, 이동통신서비스의 확대에 따른 특정기술에 대한 소비자의 선호에 대한 올바른 판단이 향후 산업의 기술진화방향을 예측하는데 핵심적인 역할을 할 것으로 생각된다. 현재 이동통신기술의 진보의 키워드는 '멀티미디어화'이다 향후 VOD (Video On Demand) 등 비디오 스트리밍(video streaming) 기술을 이용한 동영상 서비스, 화상전화, 타 디지털기기(예를 들어 PDA, 디지털 카메라 등)와의 융합 등의 서비스가 본격화되고 차세대 이동통신망의 구축이 가시화됨에 따라 이동통신의 멀티미디어 기능은 더욱 주목받게 될 것이다. 따라서 이동전화 단말기 창의 컬러화는 이러한 이동통신기술의 새로운 패러다임을 떠받치고 있는 가장 중요한 이정표로서의 의미를 지니고 있다. 본 연구에서는 표시1창의 컬러화로 실현되는 기술혁신요소에 대해서 소비자가 부여하는 가치를 분석하고자 한다. 하지만, 컬러 단말기의 보급이 초기단계에 머무르고 있는 연구시점의 특성상 현시자료가 가용하지 않았기 때문에, 소비자에게 가상의 품질특성을 지닌 제품 조합을 제시하고 이에 대해 소비자가 순위를 매기게 함으로써 소비자의 선호를 측정하는 컨조인트(conjoint) 방법론을 사용하였으며, 소비자의 진술선호(stated preference)에 기초하여 이동통신단말기의 개별 특성에 대한 부분가치와 보상잉여를 측정하였다. 또한, 이를 통해 창의 컬러화로 인해 기대되는 초과이윤의 가능성 등 경제적인 효과들을 정량적으로 분석하고, 브랜드 가치 등 기존의 단말기 경쟁력 요소들과의 비교를 통하여 컬러화가 가져다 줄 경쟁요소들을 추정함으로서, 기술확산 메커니즘을 확인하고자 한다.

최근 휴대폰, PDA(Personal Digital Assistants) 등 이동 단말기의 발전으로 개인 정보 관리 위주로만 사용하던 이동 단말기의 역할이 게임, 원격 감시 분야 등 여러 분야로 확대되었다. 원격 감시 분야의 경우, 초기에는 하드웨어의 단순한 유선 연결만을 이용하여 감시 하였다. 원격 감시 기술은 인터넷 등장과 함께 급속도로 발전, 보급되었고 웹으로도 원격 감시를 할 수 있게 되었다. 하지만, 웹을 이용한 방식은 공간과 시간의 제약이 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 무선 인터넷이 가능한 이동 단말기와 원격 감시 분야를 접목시킴으로써 공간과 시간 제약 없이 원격 감시를 할 수 있게 된다. 이동 단말기에는 원격 감시 소프트웨어가 탑재된다. 소프트웨어를 통해 서버에 접근할 때는 사용자인증을 하여 영상에 대한 보안성을 높였다. 이 때 서버와 이동 단말기 간의 통신은 영상과 제어 메시지를 통하여 수행하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 사용자가 지속적으로 증가하고 있는 이동 단말기인 PDA에 원격 감시 소프트웨어를 탑재하여 가정 또는 공장 등에 있는 서버와 영상, 제어 메시지를 통하여 감시와 제어를 할 수 있는 원격 감시 시스템의 구조를 제안한다.

As the number of mobile telephone users increases, technologies fur increasing quality of services between a mobile terminal and the base station transceiver system become more important than ever. The important criteria of quality of service includes minimum interference of base station, the success rate of network access and portability between different mobile companies. Among many factors, the successful rate of network connection between a mobile terminal and the base station is the most important. In this paper, we introduce an analysis system of mobile terminals using RS-232C communication after considering such environments. This application software simulates the communicational signals between and mobile terminals and the base station and shows the results through the graphs. Using this system, the task about testing communication performance of mobile terminals will be easy since it helps to analyze the status of communication.

In Korea mobile phone subscribers exceeded 1 million people in 1995, and ten million people in 1998. Prevalence of the mobile phone increased dramatically over 110% compared to the population. And all family members including children and students use one or two mobile terminal. Mobile phone is obviously necessary good more than washer, vacuum cleaner, passenger car. Our daily life with mobile communication are conveniently positioned, but communication related costs including the price of the device has become a big burden on the household. But the government does not seem to do the right role at the right time to prevent the failure of the market to further maximize consumer welfare and social welfare through fair competition. This principal-agent problems exist especially in perspective of joint use of the mobile communication network, number portability, separation of phone distribution and phone service and network neutrality among in mobile communication policies since the early 1990s up to now.

When a terminal frequently crosses a RA or a call originate in a boundry cell, HLR should be updated or queried. Frequent DB accesses and message transfers may cause the HLR bottleneck and degrade the system performance. This paper propose scheme to solve the HLR bottleneck problem and reduce to call registration cost and call tracking cost in wirless networks.

저궤도 위성망을 사용하는 이동통신은 지상 이동통신망에서와 비슷하게 셀(cell) 설계가 이루어지는데, 지금까지의 연구는 셀 내에서의 채널 용량을 단말기의 수에 의해 결정하였다. 하지만, 동일 셀 내 통신 링크에서의 간섭(interference)은 단말기의 분포 및 밀집도에 따라 달라질 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 저궤도 위성망을 사용하는 이동통신 시스템의 동일 셀내에서 단말기들의 밀집도에 따른 C/I의 변화량을 시뮬레이션을 통해 분석하였다.
