APPLICATION OF MOVING LEAST SQUARE METHOD IN CHIMERA GRID METHOD (중첩격자에 대한 이동최소자승법 적용 연구)

  • Chimera grid methods have been widely used in Computational Fluid Dynamics due to its simplicity in constructing grid systems over complex bodies, and suitability for unsteady flow computations with bodies in relative motion. However, the interpolation procedure for ensuring the continuity of the solution over overlapped regions fails when the so-called orphan cells are present. We have adopted the MLS(Moving Least Squares) method to replace commonly used linear interpolations in order to alleviate the difficulty associated with the orphan cells. MLS is one of the interpolation methods used in mesh-less methods. A number of examples with MLS are presented to show the validity and the accuracy of the method.

  • 3차원 Euler 방정식과 adjoint법을 이용한 공력설계코드를 개발하였으며, 이를 초음속수송기의 주날개 설계에 적용하였다. 표면형상의 변화를 위해 Hicks-Henne함수를 사용하였으며, 내부격자점의 수정을 위해 타원형방정식법을 이용하였다. 나셀의 수직이동과 관련되지 않은 설계변수에 대해서는 내부격자점의 이동을 무시함으로써 계산시간을 크게 단축할 수 있었다. 양력과 날개단면두께를 일정하게 유지하면서 항력을 최소화하도록 단면형상을 최적화하였으며, 성공적인 결과를 얻음으로써 본 설계시스템의 타당성 및 효율성을 확인하였다.

Direct Simulation of Flows and Flow Noise around Moving Body by FDLBM with ALE Model (ALE모델을 갖는 차분격자볼츠만법에 의한 이동물체 주위의 유동장 및 유동소음의 직접계산)

  • In this paper, flowfield and acoustic-field around moving bodies are simulated by the Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian (ALE) formulation in FDLBM. The effect of the ALE is checked by comparing flow about a square cylinder in ALE formulation and that in the fixed coordinates, and the results show good agreement. Matching procedure between the moving grid and fixed grid is also considered. The applied method in which the both grids are connected through buffer zone is shown to be superior to moving overlapped grid. Dipole-like emissions of sound wave from harmonically vibrating bodies in 2- and 3-dimensional cases are simulated.

  • To develop and improve a GIS(Gas Insulated Switchgear), the prediction of the pressure in puffer cylinder and the flow between the nozzle and the moving electrode within GIS is very important.The leading companies in GIS business issue the results of the study of flow within GIS including arc plasma. In this study, the characteristics of the flow of the GIS developed by HHI(Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd.) was investigated. To simulate the compressible flow of GIS, the CFX, a commercial CFD code, was used. With moving grid method, the movement of piston and electrode was simulated. The moving grid method was superior to the method of varying the property of cells to move an obsticle, in stability and convergencce of solution. The calculated maximum pressure within the puffer cylinder was matched with experimental data within $5{\%}$ error. The oscilation of pressure in GIS after the movement of electrode was well predicted.

  • A flow analysis is performed in the present study for the moving body problem by proposing a mesh transformation method for the movement of the body in the fluid medium. Unlike other moving mesh techniques, a mesh itself is not moving but changes its property as time marches in a mesh transformation method. The flow field results are compared with those by other moving mesh technique, and showed good agreements. The movement of a floatable body in the flow field caused by the moving body is also studied in the present study by using a mesh transformation technique and a fluid/structure interaction method.

  • 영산강하구언과 영암 및 금호방조제 건설에 의해 목포해역에서는 조석확폭현상이 발생하여 만조위가 상승함에 따라 저지대에 침수피해를 야기시킨 바 있다. 이는 목포구의 'tidal choking effect' 기능이 상실됨에 기인한다는 결론을 선행인구(강주환, 1996)에서 얻은 바 있다. 본 인구에서는 선행연구에 비해 전체 영역이 확대되었으며 격자크기가 작아졌을 뿐 아니라 관심영역에는 세부역을 도입하여 더욱 세밀한 격자체계를 구성하였다. 이에 따라 조간대 처리가 한층 정밀해졌으며, 천해조 경계조건 부여와 함계 낙조우세를 실제에 가깝게 재현시킬 수 있게 되었다. 또한 방조제 건설후 낙조우세가 심화되는 자정을 모의할 수 있게 됨에 따라 소류사 이동양상의 변화된 패턴 역시 파악할 수 있었으며, 만조위 상승에 따른 침식유발 효과와 더불어 인근 해역의 침식 원인을 부분적으로 규명할 수 있었다.

  • 도달시간 또는 집중시간이란 어떤 유역에 강우가 발생하였을 때 유역의 최상류부에서 내린 강우가 유역의 최하류부 출구점까지 도달하는 데 소요되는 시간으로 정의된다. 일반적으로 유역출구점에서의 첨두홍수량은 도달시간만큼 지체되어 발생하고, 하천의 치수 시설물을 설계하는데 있어 기준이 되므로 정확한 홍수도달시간의 산정은 매우 중요한 과업 중 하나이다. 현재 국내에서는 Kirpich 공식, Rziha 공식, Kraven 공식, SCS(NRCS; Natural Resources Conservation Service) 공식 등을 이용하여 도달시간을 산정한 후 그 유역에 적절한 것을 채택하는 방식으로 홍수도달시간을 산정하고 있다. 이러한 경험식들은 모두 유역의 지배적인 유로의 연장과 하도경사에 의해 결정되어 홍수의 이동특성을 물리적으로 반영할 수 없으며, 유역면적이나 하도 경사에 따라 적용성이 한정되어 있다. 또한 각 경험식들에 따라 산정된 도달시간은 경우에 따라 수십 배의 차이가 나타날 수도 있다, 따라서 본 연구에서는 보다 정확한 유역의 홍수도달시간을 산정하기 위하여 상세 지형정보를 이용하며, 임의의 격자점에 내린 강우의 흐름방향을 결정하고 인접 격자점에서 유입되는 홍수의 이동경로를 보다 물리적이고 현실적으로 모의하고자 하였다.

Numerical Study on the Unsteady Solid Rocket Propellant Combustion with Erosive Burning (침식효과를 고려한 고체 로켓 추진제의 비정상 연소에 관한 수치해석)

  • A numerical modelling was performed to predict unsteady combustion processes for the AP/HTPB/Al propellant in a solid rocket motor. Its results were compared with the experimental data. Temporal pressure development was found to match quite well with measured data. A change in propellant surface was traced using the moving grid. The propellant thickness change was also observed to confirm the erosive burning effect.

  • The sonar sensors can be divided into a piezo type and an electrostatic type according to a principle of an operating system. The electrostatic type of a sonar sensor is used for map building in this paper. If we know the characteristics of sonar sensor, we can derive the ultrasonic pressure equation from an acoustics theory. We, therefore, developed Ultrasonic Pressure Probabilistic Model (UPPM) to consider the sound pressure in the probability updating process. In this paper, we found that the quality of the resulting probability map is considerably improved, through combining the UPPM with the grid-based mapping algorithm.
