Space Planet Exploration Rover Climbing Test Site Design (우주 행성 탐사 로버 등판 시험장 설계)

  • Space exploration is at the forefront of human scientific endeavors, and planetary exploration rovers play a critical role in studying planetary surfaces. Rover performance is especially vital for safely navigating steep terrain and delicate landscapes found on planets like Mars and the Moon. This paper offers a comprehensive overview of a landing testbed designed to simulate challenging extraterrestrial terrain and loose regolith. The paper briefly outlines lunar crater region topographical features and highlights the importance of these simulations in rover testing. It then explores previous landing testbed developments and describes the design process for a landing testbed to be installed in the dirty thermal vacuum chamber at the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology. Once realized, this proposed landing testbed will enable precise evaluations of rover mobility and exploration capabilities under lunar-like conditions, including high vacuum and extreme temperatures.

  • 일반적인 피난모델은 건물 화재시의 상황을 예측해보기 위해 제작된 것들이다. 이들을 사용하여 철도차량 내부에서의 피난상황을 예측해보기 위해서는 각 출입문에서의 유동에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 특히 터널 내 정차와 같이 차량바닥과 지면의 차이가 존재하는 경우는 현재 자료가 없는 상황이다. 이는 철도차량뿐만 아니라 차량에서 나간이후에 경유하게 되는 터널이나 역사의 피난을 평가하는 데도 매우 중요한 자료이다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 지하철 차량에서의 피난 현상 중에서 차량과 차량간의 이동과 차량에서 선로로의 이동에 대한 현상을 실험을 통해 분석해보았다.

  • A Computational study was carried out in order to investigate the moving wall effect of a circular cylinder at a Reynolds number of $2.0{\times}10^4$. The viscous-incompressible Navier-Stokes equations and Spalart-Almaras turbulent model of the commercial CFD code were adopted for this numerical analysis. The moving wall was set parallel with the freestream, and moving speed was equal to the freestream velocity. The gap ratio is defined as the distance ratio between the circular cylinder diameter and the height from the moving wall. The results show that there is vortex shedding over the critical gap ratio and aerodynamic loads including amplitude and the Strouhal number change according to the gap ratio.

  • 지표 변수는 지면 근처의 기후변화 및 상태를 파악하는데 중요한 역할을 하기 때문에, 충분히 높은 정확성을 가진 값이 산출되어야 한다. 하지만 이러한 지표 변수는 구름과 눈, 그리고 강수등에 의해서 그 값이 변화하게 된다. 이러한 오차 값을 줄이기 위해 구름제거, 지리보정, 대기보정 등의 위성 전처리 과정이 수행되었다. 하지만 위성 전처리 과정을 수행한 이후에도 정규식생지수 시계열 자료에는 여전히 노이즈가 남아 있기 때문에 이전에 연구에서는 이동 평균등과 같은 다양한 방법으로 노이즈를 제거하고자 하였다. 하지만 이동평균 방법은 참값에 가까운 최고값도 제거하기 때문에 문제점을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 다중 다항회귀식을 이용하여 정규식생지수 시계열 자료 산출시 발생하는 노이즈를 제거 하였다.

Research about Intel1igent Snake Robot (지능형 뱀 로봇에 관한 연구)

  • 기존 이동로봇의 활발한 연구와 더불어 다양한 형태의 이동로봇이 등장하였다. 이에 본 논문에서는 8축으로 구성된, 총 16 Degree of Freedom을 가지는 다 관절 뱀 로봇을 제작하였다. 뱀 로봇은 지면과의 진행 마찰력을 고려하여 무동력 바퀴를 사용하였다. 또한 PC Cam과 초음파 센서를 사용하여 각 관절이 움직일 수 있는 Joint Angle을 나타내기 위하여 Target의 색상과 거리를 입력으로 하였다. 뱀 로봇은 머리부분, 몸통 그리고 꼬리부분으로 나뉘어 진행하는 방식을 가지며 PC Cam을 통해 화면에 보여지는 움직이는 특정 목표물에 대하여 진행을 하며, 진행 중 움직이거나 고정되어있는 Obstacle이 포착될 경우 충돌회피를 통하여 Target을 추종하는 방식을 실험적으로 보이고자 한다.

  • 본 RFID를 지면과 목표물체에 설치하고 로봇은 리더기와 다양한 센서를 갖춤으로써 이동시 자기 위치를 파악하고 물체로부터도 고유정보를 얻을 수 있게 구성하였다. 초음파 센서 신호의 귀환시간을 활용하여 전방 물체의 거리를 추출하며 바닥의 RFID로부터 이미 획득한 자기 위치를 활용하여 물체의 절대 위치를 구한다. 이는 이동체를 중심으로한 실내의 경로지도를 작성하는 것이 가능하며, 실내의 구조 및 목표점을 포함한 전체적인 지도를 작성할 수 있다.

Microbial community structures in the ground bed cultivation of Lentinula edodes using oak sawdust (참나무 톱밥을 이용한 표고 지면재배 과정의 주요 미생물 군집 분석)

  • Ground bed cultivation method for shiitake mushroom (Phogo; Lentinula edodes) has been advanced to use the oak-sawdust composted by microorganisms. This method has some advantages in saving the labors and improving productivity. The aim of this study is to analyze microbial community in oak sawdust and to provide the information for efficient cultivation of shiitake mushroom. In process of composting, the proportions of thermophiles increased from 10% to 80%. This results show the microbial community succession from mesophilic bacteria to thermophilic bacteria. T-RFLP analysis and nucleotide sequencing of 16S rRNA gene demonstrated that the change of dominant bacteria coupled with shifts in each stages. The family of Enterobacteriaceae as a mesophilic bacteria were dominant (100%) in oak sawdust sample, but Amycolatopsis (49.0%) and Saccharopolyspora (26.5%) as a thermophilic Actinomycetes were dominant in the last day of composting. In hyphal growth stage, Leuconostoc (psychrophilic bacteria) was dominant (75.0%). The composting process of sawdust is very important for growth of mushroom mycelium. Therefore, there is need for the further study for the Amycolatopsis as thermophilic Actinomycetes.

A Navigation Algorithm using a Locomotion Interface with Programmable Foot Platforms for Realistic Virtual Walking (실감의 가상 걸음을 위한 발판타입 이동인터페이스의 네비게이션 알고리즘)

  • This paper describes a novel navigation algorithm using a locomotion interface with two 6-DOF programmable foot platforms. When a human walks on the locomotion interface (LI), the walking motions of the human are recognized by several sensors. Then, the sensed information is used by the LI for generation of infinite surfaces for continuous walking and the virtual environments for scene update according to motions of the human walking. The suggested novel navigation system can induce user's real walking and generate realistic visual feedback during navigation. A novel navigation algorithm is suggested to allow natural navigation in virtual environments by utilizing conditions of normal gait analysis. For realistic visual feedback, the virtual environment is designed with three components; 3D object modeler for buildings and terrains, scene manager and communication manager component. From experiments, the subjects were satisfied with the reality of the suggested navigation algorithm using the locomotion interface. Therefore, the suggested navigation system can allow a user to explore into various virtual terrains with real walking and realistic visual feedback.

Analysis of Gas Pipeline Movement and Stress Estimation (가스배관 위치이동 해석 및 응력 예측 기법 개발)

  • If there are some construction works that affect the stability of buried pipelines, the pipelines should be moved to guarantee their safety. In this paper, modeling methods for analyzing the movement of pipelines were sought, and the step-by-step stress estimation method of moving pipelines was developed. Some factors affecting of pipeline response such as the element type, the element size, boundary modeling, and geometric non-linearity were quantitatively investigated. In addition, some conditions in which accuracy and effectiveness can be compromised in the analysis of long pipelines were identified. A neural network was used to estimate the pipeline stress. The inputs to the neural network included step-by-step displacements, and the output was the resulting stress at each movement step. After training the neural network, it can be used to estimate pipeline stresses at some sub-steps that are not included in the training. A Windows-based stress estimation program was developed.

Ground Penetrating Radar based Hand-held Landmine Detection System using Frequency Shifting Filtering (주파수 이동 필터링을 적용한 지면 투과 레이더 기반 휴대용 지뢰 탐지 시스템)

  • Since a soldier manages a hand-held landmine detector by hands, it is necessary to develop a system that can detect the target quickly and accurately. However, the hand-held landmine detector used in Korea has a problem that it can only detect the metal mines. Therefore, it is important to solve the problem and to develop a hand-held landmine detection system suitable for the Korean environment. In this paper, we propose a hand-held landmine detection system suitable for the Korean environment using ground penetrating radar. The proposed system uses depth compensation, matched filtering, and frequency shifting filtering for preprocessing. Then, in the detection step, the system detects the target using the edge ratio. In order to evaluate the proposed system, we buried landmines in sandy loam which is most of the soil in Korea and obtained a set of ground penetrating radar data by using a hand-held landmine detector. By using the obtained data, we carried out some experiments on the size and position of the patch and the shifting frequency to find the optimal parameter values and measured the detection performance using the optimized values. Experimental results show that the proposed preprocessing algorithms are suitable for detecting all landmines at low false alarm rate and the performance of the proposed system is superior to that of previous works.
