A Review of Model and Modeling in Science Education: Focus on the Metamodeling Knowledge (과학교육에서 모델 및 모델링에 대한 고찰 -메타모델링 지식을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine metamodeling knowledge and its components, which means knowledge about model and modeling required for students and teachers for successful application of modeling in the field of science education based on research literature. For this, we analyzed and categorized major previous studies on modeling and modeling through research literature methods. Metamodeling knowledge aims to recognize models and modeling and is the most crucial element to create a scientific model in scientific modeling practice. The point of view of metamodeling knowledge proposed in this study is categorize nature of model, multiplicity of model, purpose of model, modeling process, and evaluation and revision of model. Students should be able to achieve more in-depth understanding through the awareness of the nature of the model. The development of metamodeling knowledge can facilitate students' science learning.

Effects of Individual Creativity and Organizational Members' Value Innovative Culture Perception on Innovative Performances and Management Outcomes -The Roles of Mediating Innovative Behaviors and knowledge-sharing- (개인 창의성과 조직 구성원의 가치혁신문화 인식이 혁신성과 및 경영성과에 미치는 영향 (혁신행동, 지식공유의 매개효과))

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest directions for enhancing competitiveness of corporate management by examining how individual creativity and organizational members' value innovation culture perception affect innovation behavior and knowledge sharing, and how innovation behavior and knowledge sharing affect organizational innovation performance and management outcomes In order to achieve these research objectives, the measurement variables of each variable were extracted through previous research and 423 valid samples were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 statistical package program and LISREL 9.1 to verify a hypothesis. As a result of this study, it was found that the creative thinking skills of the individual creativity, the meaningful tasks of the value innovation culture recognition, and the risk - taking culture have a significant influence on the innovation behavior. Only the meaningful tasks of organizational members' value innovation culture perception affect knowledge sharing. Innovation behavior has a significant effect on knowledge sharing and innovation performance, but not on business outcome. In addition, knowledge sharing has no significant effect on innovation performance but has a significant effect on business performance. Finally, we confirmed that innovation performance has a significant effect on management outcome.

  • This study examines the effect of social capital formed on B to B inter - firm transactions on firm's performance through a research model developed around the mediating effect of knowledge absorption capacity. In other words, we examined how each level of social capital affects firm performance. by examining the dimensions of social capital that are not presented in previous studies, we have identified how each element of social capital affects corporate performance. in addition, the effects of knowledge absorption on firm performance are analyzed and presented in various ways. The results of the study are summarized as follows. First, social capital is divided into three dimensions. In other words, the relationship between structural elements, relational dimensions, and cognitive dimensions was verified. First, the structural dimension influenced the relational dimension, and the relational dimension had a positive effect on the cognitive dimension. this is meaningful in that it solved what is pointed out as a limit in previous studies. this is meaningful in that it verified what was pointed out as a limit in previous studies. secondly, the structural dimension influenced the cognitive dimension. Second, each component of social capital has a positive impact on knowledge absorption capacity. Finally, it was found that knowledge absorption capacity had a positive effect on the corporate culture, and it was confirmed that knowledge absorption capacity was important. the extent to which social capital is absorbed in BtoB transactions means that the performance of the two companies can be quite different.

North Korean Defector Students' Science Learning in Angbuilgu Activity (앙부일구(仰釜日晷) 활동에서 드러난 탈북 학생들의 과학 학습)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine North Korean defector students' characteristics in science learning through their voice in an "Angbuilgu" program, one of the Korean traditional science knowledge (TSK). We compared them with two other groups of contrasting backgrounds. The Angbuilgu program contains meaningful questions of time, everyday-life knowledge, Korean TSK, and western modern science (WMS). The teaching strategy consists of interactions between teacher and students, and scientific experiments. We applied this program to three groups and analyzed: North Korean defector students, elementary science gifted students, high school students in an advanced class. The characteristics of their science learning show the following: First, their interpretation of time as nature itself in their everyday life. They have rich experience and are familiar with time in nature. Second, they prefer science with complementary, caring, and humanist perspectives, which is in contrast to other groups with preference to the updated and practical science. Third, they lack scientific concepts but possess an abundance of everyday-life knowledge. Their linguistic expressions are ordinary rather than scientific. Fourth, they are familiar with narrative thinking more than scientific thinking. The results show that the science program using Korean TSK can help them accept new scientific knowledge as well as cultural pride, which plays a role in reconfirming their identity as one ethnicity. We expect that the contents of Korean TSK can be an intercultural field between North Korean defector students and our science curriculum.

  • Temporal data mining, the incorporation of temporal semantics to existing data mining techniques, refers to a set of techniques for discovering implicit and useful temporal knowledge from large quantities of temporal data. Temporal knowledge, expressible in the form of rules, is knowledge with temporal semantics and relationships, such as cyclic pattern, calendric pattern, trends, etc. There are many examples of temporal data, including patient histories, purchaser histories, and web log that it can discover useful temporal knowledge from. Many studies on data mining have been pursued and some of them have involved issues of temporal data mining for discovering temporal knowledge from temporal data, such as sequential pattern, similar time sequence, cyclic and temporal association rules, etc. However, all of the works treated data in database at best as data series in chronological order and did not consider temporal semantics and temporal relationships containing data. In order to solve this problem, we propose a theoretical framework for temporal data mining. This paper surveys the work to date and explores the issues involved in temporal data mining. We then define a model for temporal data mining and suggest SQL-like mining language with ability to express the task of temporal mining and show architecture of temporal mining system.

Against Skepticism: Doubt and Belief in C. S. Peirce and Michael Polanyi (찰스 S. 퍼스와 마이클 폴라니의 회의론과 믿음(belief)에 대한 비교 연구)

  • Michael Polanyi's idea of tacit knowledge came from the realization that scientific objectivity and critical philosophy had become too restrictive for philosophy, especially in the realm of meaning, which is beyond positivistic proof and contains more non-critical elements than critical ones. In social life, people still share certain kinds of knowledge and beliefs which they obtain without making or learning those explicitly. Contemplating the role and significance of tacit knowledge, he called for a post-critical philosophy that integrates the realm of meaning and thereby appreciates the intertwined nature of tacit and explicit knowledge. Polanyi's position towards skepticism and doubt shows similarities with Charles S. Peirce's thinking about the relationship between belief and doubt. Although Peirce's semeiotics stands firmly in the tradition of critical philosophy, he affirms that doubt cannot be a constant state of mind and only belief can form a basis for a specific way of life. Polanyi's approach differs from Peirce's by focusing on the impossibility of scientific knowledge based solely on principles and precision, and his emphasis on the crucial role of the community of scientists. Nevertheless, the deeper implications of Peirce's contemplations on belief and doubt have myriad ramifications on the philosophy of science as well as the sociology of science.

  • 현대사회는 지식정보화 사회로서 인간의 지식을 자원으로 하고 정보통신기술을 접목하여 지식을 체계적이고 유연성 있는 정보로 가공하는 것을 국가 경쟁력의 핵심요소로 사용하고 있다. 그리고 국어과 교육과정는 창의적인 국어사용능력을 배양하고 학습자의 의미 있는 학습을 중요시하며, 실생활과 관련된 교육과정이 되도록 요구하고 있다. 따라서 학습자 주변 및 사회적 현상을 다양한 국어 상황에 활용하여 비판적으로 이해하고, 창의적으로 표현하도록 하는 NIE를 학습에 활용하고자 하였다. 나아가 인터넷이 보편화 되어 있는 환경과 정보통신기술의 함양 및 활용을 통한 e-NIE(인터넷을 통한 신문활용학습)를 국어과에 적용하여 읽기 쓰기 능력에 미치는 영향을 연구하였다.

  • 본 논문은 한국어를 대상으로 하는 자연언어 처리 시스템을 개발하는데 있어서 기초가 되는 지식베이스의 구축에 대하여 논한다. 한국어의 일반문에서 단문을 분리해 내기 위하여 형태소 해석의 결과로부터 도출한 구 단위를 한-일 기계번역 시스템의 구문, 의미 해석기(VCPN) 을 적용하여 절단위로 결합한다. 그리고 이들 단위절에 대하여 대명사의 조응관계, 생략에의 재생을 위한 추론, 부정어, 시제일치 등을 처리하여 논리적 지식베이스를 구성하는 방법을 제안한다. 본 논문은 입력문장에 제한을 두지 않고 단문으로부터 장문에 이르기까지 광범위한 일반문을 대상으로 하여 Horn Clause 이론을 확장한다.

  • 기존의 문서분류는 학습문서에 출현하는 자질에 대해 가중치를 계산하여 그 순위에 따라 상위 자질로 구성된 지식베이스를 사용하였다. 그리고 새로운 문서가 들어왔을 때 자질 지식베이스를 근거로 새 문서를 색인하였다. 결국 자질 지식베이스와 정확히 일치하지 않는 키워드는 색인대상에서 제외되는 문제가 있었다. 본 고에서는 이 문제를 해결하기 위하여 분류될 문서의 특징을 나타내는 범주별 자질과 유사한의미를 가지나 형태가 변형되어 기술된 단어에 대하여 유사어 사전을 구축하였으며 이를 통해 새로운 문서가 범주에 할당될 가능성을 높여 자동 문서 범주화 시스템의 성능을 향상시키고자 한다.

  • World-Wide Web(WWW)이 발전하면서 웹으로부터 사용자가 원하는 정보를 효과적으로 찾기 위한 정보검색 방법론이 연구가들로부터 중요한 이슈로서 대두되었고 이에 기반하여 여러 상용 정보검색 시스템들이 등장하게 되었다. 그러나, 이러한 정보검색 시스템들은 웹에 존재하는 데이터의 비구조화와 다양성, 사용자의 다양성, 그리고 정보의 질과 양이 문제로 인하여 사용자의 의도와 요구에 맞는 정보를 구하기 어렵다. 또한, 웹 상의 많은 데이터들로부터 단순히 일반적인 정보만을 얻어 이용할 뿐 효과적인 지식의 탐사나 관리 기능을 갖고 있지 않다. 본 논문에서는 이전의 정보검색 시스템들이 갖는 문제점을 분석하고 이를 보완하고자 웹에 대한 지식 발견(Knowledge Discovery)의 새로운 시도인 웹 마이닝(Web Mining)에 대한 관련 연구를 토대로 웹 마이닝 시스템을 설계 및 구현한다. 특히, 사용자의 의도를 정확히 전달하기 위하여 기존의 SQL 과 유사한 형태의 질의어인 WMSQL을 사용하여 웹 문서의 내용에 직접적인 웹 마이닝을 수행하는 Web Content Mining을 개발함으로서 웹의 비구조화된 데이터로부터 의미있고 함축적인 지식을 추출할 수 있도록 한다.
