A study on the Development of a Driving Simulator for Reappearance of Vehicle Motion (I) (차량 주행 감각 재현을 위한 운전 시뮬레이터 개발에 관한 연구 (I))

  • A vehicle driving simulator is a virtual reality device which a human being feels as if the one drives a vehicle actually. The driving simulator is used effectively for studying interaction of a driver-vehicle and developing vehicle system of a new concept. The driving simulator consists of a vehicle motion bed system, motion controller, visual and audio system, vehicle dynamic analysis system, cockpit system, and etc. In it is paper, the main procedures to develop the driving simulator are classified by five parts. First, a motion bed system and a motion controller, which can track a reference trajectory, are developed. Secondly, a performance evaluation of the motion bed system for the driving simulator is carried out using LVDTs and accelerometers. Thirdly, a washout algorithm to realize a motion of an actual vehicle in the driving simulator is developed. The algorithm changes the motion space of a vehicle into the workspace of the driving simulator. Fourthly, a visual and audio system for feeling higher realization is developed. Finally, an integration system to communicate and monitor between sub systems is developed.

  • In this paper, we aim to control the sound and vibration spatially, so that a desired physical variable is enhanced within a zone we select. This is somewhat analogous to have manipulators that can draw wave shape in any place we want. Brightness and contrast control have shown that such a manipulation is possible by controlling multiple sources[J.-W. Choi and Y.-H. Kim, J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 111(4), 2002]. In particular, the acoustic brightness control seeks a way to increase loudness of sound over a chosen area, and the contrast control aims to enhance loudness difference between two neighboring regions. This enables us to manipulate spatial distribution of sound by making two different kinds of zone ? the bright and dark zone- at the same time. The primary focus of this study is to unit the theoretical formulation of the brightness and contrast control and to find a link between these methods, as well as its relation to other conventional techniques. It is also shown that we can generate various shape of wave field by transforming the domain we consider.

  • The possibility of global noise reduction by the sound power control through selection of distribution and impedance of absorptive materials is discussed. It is necessary to investigate the relation between the global sound energy in the field and the total sound power radiated by sources. In the previous work,$^{(1.2)}$ the authors presented a useful design method to change boundary condition that can be useful to reduce noise in acoustically small enclosures. Changing boundary condition Is related to not only enclosure’s geometrical shape but also acoustical treatment on walls for example, attaching of impedance patches (ex: absorptive material). In many practical situations, we often meet situation to change acoustical treatment on walls. The possibility of total acoustic potential energy(globa1 noise) reduction by acoustic source power control is examined in an acoustically small cavity Using acoustic energy balance equation, the relation between global noise control performance and absorptive material’s arrangement/impedance is deduced. Numerical simulation is performed to interpret its physical meaning in terms of absorbent’s distribution and impedance.

Frictional Sound Characteristics of vapor Permeable Water Repellent Fabric according to Finishing Methods at Different Frictional Speeds (투습발수 가공방법에 따른 직물의 마찰 속도별 소리 특성)

  • 본 연구는 가공방법이 다른 투습발수직물의 마찰 속도별 직물마찰음의 소리특성과 주관적 평가간의 관계를 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 스포츠웨어용 투습발수직물 중 가공방법이 다른 4 종(PU 건식코팅, PU습식코팅, 시레가공, 라미네이팅)의 나일론 100% 시료를 대상으로 실험하였다. 마찰속도의 상세 설정이 가능한 직물소리 시뮬레이터 v. 4.0으로 제어가 되는 직물마찰음 발생장치를 사용하여 직물마찰음을 발생시켜 녹음하였다. 직물의 마찰 속도는 동작(walking, jogging, running)시 팔과 몸통 사이의 마찰속도를 분석하여 이 속도에 따라 직물마찰음을 발생시켰고, Sound quality system으로 7 가지(SPL, ${\triangle}L$, ${\triangle}f$, Loudness(Z), Sharpness(Z), Roughness(Z). Fluctuation Strength(Z)) 소리특성을 분석하였다. 주관적 평가는 9 개의 형용사 쌍에 대해 의미미분척도로 평가되었다. 소리특성 분석 결과, 속도별 소리특성은 가공방법에 따른 차이 없이 walking 시가 가장 덜 시끄러운 소리가 발생하였고, 가공방법에 따라서는 마찰속도에 따라 약간 차이가 있지만 라미네이팅가공을 한 시료가 가장 날카로운 소리를 발생시켰다. 주관적 평가 결과, '거슬리는'과 '불쾌한'의 감성에 대해서는 walking, jogging, running의 순서로, 시레가공, 라미네이팅, PU건식코팅, PU 습식코팅의 순서로 증가하였다.

  • This study is aimed to develope a remote control ship for acquisition of various underwater information. Remote control ship equipped with GPS, echosounder, sidescan sonar, subbottom profiler. Remote control ship is an automatic system for acquisition of inland water and coast information. For the development of remote control ship, underwater information acquisition of reservoir, dam, polluted area is expected. Also, multibeam echosounder, image sensor, water analysis sensor, etc. could be equipped in one ship. So robot-ship will be applied for the most part of industry managing water resources and preventing the flood by making bed topographic map and estimating water volumes.

  • A theoretical model has been studied to describe the sound radiation analysis for structural vibration noise control of tire under the action of random moving line forces. When a tire is analyzed, it has been modeled as a curved beam with distributed springs and dash-pots which represent the radial, tangential stiffness and damping of tire, respectively. The reaction due to fluid loading on the vibratory response of the curved beam is taken into account. The curved beam is assumed to occupy the plane y = 0 and to be axially infinite. The material of curved beam and elastic foundation are assumed to be lossless, and governed by the law of Bernoulli-Euler beam theory. The expression for sound power is integrated numerically and its results examined as a function of Mach number(M), wavenumber ratio(.gamma.) and stiffness factor(.PSI.). The experimental investigation for structural vibration noise of tire under the action of random moving line forces has been made. Based on the STSF(Spatial Transformation of Sound Field) techniques, the sound power and sound radiation are measured. The experimental results show that operating condition, material properties and design factors of the tire have a great effect on the sound power and sound radiation characteristics.

  • This paper describes a design and fabrication of an electronic ballast for 70[W]ceramic discharge metal halide lamps. The proposed ballast is composed of a rectifier, an active PFC, a half-bridge inverter, a LC resonant circuit and a controller. The design also includes a specially designed time circuit which provides reignition of the lamp. Running frequency of the ballast is set at 45[KHz]to avoid acoustic-resonance and flicker. from the test results, input power factor and efficiency of the ballast were estimated 91[%] and 97.7[%], respectively.

  • This paper describes a design and fabrication of an electronic ballast for 70[W] ceramic discharge metal halide lamps. The proposed ballast is composed of a rectifier, an active power factor correction circuit (PFC), a half-bridge inverter, a LC resonant circuit and a microprocessor. The developed ballast also includes a specially designed time circuit which provides reignition of lamps. Running frequency of the ballast is set at 40[kHz] to avoid acoustic-resonance and flickering. From the experimental results, input power factor and efficiency of the ballast are estimated 99.8[%] and 93.1[%)] respectively.

  • A smart panel with structural sensors and actuators for minimizing noise radiation or transmission is described in the paper with the concept of active structural acoustical control. The sensors and actuators are both quadratically shaped piezoelectric polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF) Polymer films to implement a volume velocity sensor and uniform force actuator respectively. They are collocated on either side of the panel to take advantage of direct velocity feedback(DVFB) strategy, which can guarantee a robust stability and high performance as long as the sensor-actuator response is strictly positive real(SPR). However, the measured sensor-actuator response of the panel showed unexpected result with non-SPR property. In the paper, the reason of the non-SPR property is investigated by theoretical analysis, computer simulation and experimental verification. The investigation reveals that the arrangement of collocated piezoelectric PVDF sensor and actuator pair on a panel is not relevant to get a high feedback gain and good performance with DVFB strategy.

  • In this parer, it is implemented a Local distribution Audio System, based on AoIP(Audio over Internet Protocol) of a part of TCP/IP Network which belongs to Internet transmission technology. The system is controlled based on SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol) and it is transferred to UDP as packet after changing from Analog audio sources to Digital audio sources. The implemented Local distribution Audio System have presented practical possibilities in PA system transmitting various audio sources to several areas, dispersedly and using multichannel audio like Home theaters in the limelight, recently.
