  • In this paper, we interpret a score as a time series and deal with the fuzzy logic-based modeling of it. The musical notes in a score represent a lot of information about the length of a sound and pitches, etc. In this paper, using melodies, tones and pitches in a score, we transform data on a score into a time series. Once more, we foml the new Lime series by sliding a window through the time series. For analyzing the time series data, we make use of the Box-Jenkins s time series analysis. On the basis of the identified characteristics of time series, we construct the fuzzy model.

  • On September 23, 2015, the Ministry of Education announced the 2015 revision of educational curriculum which aimed at 'cultivating creative talents' based on the Article 23, Section 2 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Law. As a result, music curriculum have also been partially revised, which seems to maintain the 2009 revision of music curriculum. Although Jeongganbo 井間譜 is already exposed in the music curriculum for the third and forth grades of elementary school, the learning content about how to read Jeongganbo and how to express the pitch and length of sound including the origin of its name and the background of its invention are dealt with specifically in the fifth and sixth grades. Jeongganbo is known as the oldest mensural notation in the Orient created by King Sejong of the Joseon Dynasty in the middle of the $15^{th}$ century, and it was used for the first time in Sejong sillok akbo (Scores in the Annals of King Sejong), the oldest musical score still in existence. However, in the music textbooks as well as the most of specialized books related to the Korean traditional music, it is uncritically accepted without providing clear grounds that Sejong invented Jeongganbo himself. If so, it is necessary to investigate on which grounds it is claimed that Sejong invented Jeongganbo. This paper first examined the grounds of the proposition that "Sejong invented Jeongganbo," which is introduced in the music textbooks for the fifth and sixth grades of elementary school, by separating it into Sejong's creation of Sinak 新樂 (new music), Sejo's invention of Jeongganbo and Sejong's invention of Hangeul. Next, this paper examined how the subject of the invention of Jeongganbo has been described in the textbooks for the fifth and sixth grades in elementary school based on the 2009 revision of music curriculum, and suggested the direction of a desirable music education by pointing out the related problems. According to historical records and circumstances such as Sejong's creation of Sinak, Sejo's invention of Jeongganbo with 16 Jeonggan (square) in one vertical line, Sejong's invention of Hangeul and so on, it seems to be the most reasonable that Sejong is the subject of the invention of Jeongganbo as of now. However, the attitude of the musical academy to accept and educate the unclear thing as if it is a fact does not seem desirable. Therefore, I suggest that it should be described "Jeongganbo was invented in the period of Sejong" or "it is supposed that Jeongganbo was invented by Sejong" rather than presenting "Sejong made Jeongganbo" or "created" until revealing the clear evidence about the subject of Jeongganbo.

  • A user remembers a melody as not the combination of pitch and duration which is written in score but the contour which is composed of the relative pitch and duration. Because of the way of remembering a melody the previous Music Information Retrieval Systems which uses keyboard Playing or score as the main input melody are not easily acceptable in Query By Humming Systems. In this paper, we mention about the considerable checkpoints for Query By Humming System and previous researches. And we propose the feature extraction which is similar with the way of remembering a melody and similarity computation algorithms between melody in humming and melody in music. The proposed similarity computation algorithms solves the problem which can be happened when only uses the relative pitches by using relative durations.

  • Piano is one of the most beloved instruments in the world and is used a lot for children to learn music because it is simple to play. As a result, various products for children, such as toy pianos, were released. However, there is a lack of piano skills for music education, such as how to play the piano or read the score. To solve this problem, in this paper, we propose a game-style educational piano using Arduino. It is expected to capture fun and education at a low price by scoring points by displaying the score on the LCD screen and pressing the keyboard according to the timing of playing the note.

  • Conventional music players offer simple replay and one way entertainment. The paper presents an algorithm to extract, within a digitally recorded music file, the temporal information of a sequence of target notes (i.e. melody). We assume to have the score (e.g. MIDI or printed score), and using this information, it becomes possible to first sequentially predict the probable location of the target notes. However, recorded music is hardly performed according to the score, especially temporally. Thus, additional analysis is carried out to hone in on the exact location of the target note from the initially predicted location. This prediction and correction process is repeated to find one note after another. This allows us to develop an interactive music player that is enacted by rhythmic interaction, and induce a new user experience, i.e. as if one is playing the music oneself.

• Currently, DTD(Document Type Definition) Definition of Music score has been widely studied according to applications, and the methods of automatic transformation from defined DTD to XML Schema is in progress. In addition, studies of structure of DTD definition are focused on the expression of music information by individual format. In this paper, expression method of the music information by continuous string values is suggested using the fact that measure is basically a component of score, and XML Schema is also modelled. In addition, mechanism extracting the music information from XML instance which was expressed using the proposed method is presented. As a result, XML Schema taking the continuous string values could be defined, instance obtained by the proposed method results in increasing efficiency by simplicity of XPATH and reduction of search step compared to previous method. In addition, it is possible for human to make direct expression, and it is known that the instance size decreases.
