  • This paper is an introductory research to theorize women migrants' positionality in the era of globalization and the feminization of migration. It particularly examines three recent theoretical approaches within feminist studies and their application to the feminist migration study. Migration means a process of continuous negotiations of one's social and material positions within ever changing relations and situations through crossing various borders including national boundaries. Women migrants face multifaceted oppressions due to gendered relation and greater challenges to transform their identities. They embody politics of location through migration. The paper revolves around theories that explore a potential of feminist subjectivation of marginalized women such as female migrants through their identity negotiation and transformation. The theories in questions are Borderlands and the New Mestiza introduced by Gloria $Anzald{\acute{u}}a$, Intersectionality of oppressions, and Transpositions and the Nomadic Subjects by Rosi Braidotti who borrowed the theories of Deleuze and Guattari through feminist critiques. These theories all represent power relations and subject transformations through spatial metaphors. rough spatialized understandings, the paper proposes interlocking relations among space, gender and migration, and explores conceptual tools as well as epistemological insights for Korean migration study.

Coupled simulation of grid-based fluid and mass-spring based deformation/fracture (질점-용수철 기반변형/파괴 물체와 격자 기반 유체의 상호작용 시뮬레이션 기술)

  • This paper proposes a novel method that couples fluid and deformation/fracture. Our method considers two interaction types: fluid-object interaction and fluid-fluid interaction. In fluid-fluid interaction, we simulate water and smoke separately and blend their velocities in the intersecting region depend on their densities. Our method separates projection process into two steps for each of water and smoke. This reduces the number of grid cells required for projection in order to optimize the number of iterations for convergence and improve stability of the simulation. In water projection step, smoke region regarded as the cells with Dirichlet boundary condition. The smoke projection step solves water region with Neumann boundary condition. To take care of fluid-object interaction, we make use of the fluid pressure to update velocities of the each of the mass points so that the object can deform or fracture. Although our method doesn't provide physically accurate results, the various examples show that our method generate appealing visuals with good performance.

  • 카툰 렌더링 그래픽을 기반으로 한 온라인 RPG 게임인 마비노기에서는 게임이용자들이 염색 시스템을 통하여 의복아이템에 자신들이 원하는 색을 자유롭게 표현할 수 있다. 마비노기에서 색에 관련된 주목할 만한 현상은유행색이 존재하고 색에 따라 같은 아이템의 가격이 달라진다는 점이다. 유행색이 존재하는 것은 현실과 비슷하지만 같은 아이템이 색에 따라 가격이 달라지는 것은 현실에서는 보기 드물다. 이는 현실과 비슷하면서도 심리적인 속성이 다른 사이버공간만의 특징이라고 생각해 볼 수 있다. 따라서 마비노기에서 게임이용자들이 색을 선택하고 사용할 때 작용하는 심리기제가 존재할 것이라고 가정해 볼 수 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 마비노기에서 색 선택 행동의 심리적 유형을 확인하고 유형별 특징을 알아보기 위해 자아존중감을 측정하였다. 예비 조사를 통해 게임이용자 20명과 온라인 인터뷰를 실시하여 색 사용 경험을 추출하고, 추출한 경험을 바탕으로 18문항의 색 선택 행동 문항을 구성하였다. 본 조사에서는 온라인 설문으로 129명의 게임이용자를 대상으로 색 선택 행동과 자아존중감을 측정하였다. 연구 결과 색 선택 행동은 4개의 요인-색채 둔감성, 유행추종, 개성표현, 캐릭터이미지와의 적합성-으로 구분되었다. 색선택 행동 4개의 하위 요인을 기준으로 군집분석한 결과 색 선택 행동 유형은 각각 색 분화형, 유행추종형, 색 둔감형으로 구분되었다. 색 선택 행동 유형과 자아존중감과의 관계에서는 자아존중감 하위 범주 중 부정적인 자기평가, 타인의 의견에 대한 걱정, 의존성의 세 가지 하위 범주에서 색 선택 행동 유형에 따른 차이가 유의미하게 나타났다. 한편 자의식 차원에서는 색 선택 행동 유형간 유의미한 차이가 발견되지 않았다. 유행추종형은 다른 두 유형에 비해 상대적으로 자아존중감 수준이 낮음을 확인할 수 있었다. 반대로 색 둔감형은 다른 두 유형에 비해 상대적으로 자아 존중감 수준이 높았다. 색 분화형은 유행추종형과 색 둔감형의 중간 수준의 자아존중감을 볼 수 있었다. 유행추종형은 자기의 외부에서, 색 둔감형은 자기의 내부에서 색과 관련된 자신에 대한 가치감의 소재와 근원을 찾는 특성이 있다고 해석할 수 있다. 본 연구는 온라인 RPG 게임에서 게임이용자들의 색 선택의 심리적 기제를 확인하고 색 선택 유형별로 자아존중감과의 관계를 확인함으로써 색 선택 행동의 심리적 기제를 밝히려는 기초연구라는 점에 의의가 있다. 추후에는 게임이용자들의 색 선택 행동을 보다 포괄적으로 이해하기 위해 게임이용자들이 가지고 있는 공통적인 색이미지와 개별적인 색이미지 및 색이미지의 심리적 구조를 알아보기 위한 색채감성연구가 필요할 것이다. 이러한 연구들은 게임을 제작할 때 캐릭터 디자인과 아이템 디자인에 어떠한 색을 사용해야 되는지 방향을 설정하는데 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다.

‘고유가뚫어라’모토시리즈 - 작년40% 급등한유가올해도‘고공비행’

  • “해마다늘어만가는지구촌곳곳의기상이변, 특히세계유전지대의혹독한풍수해가지난해와마찬가지로일시에밀어닥친다면올해도국제유가의고공행진은하늘을찌를것이다.” 고유가가대세로점쳐지고있는가운데 2 0 0 6년새해를맞아유가의고공행진에대한극단적인우려감이높다. 지난해지구촌이 겪은미국발 허리케인의공포가채 가시지 않은 탓이다. 고유가의정착으로 인해고통을감내한 세계각국은올해초 국제유가의향방을대부분부정적으로내다보고있다. 고유가의원인으로는수요급증에따른수급불균형을우선꼽으면서도고공행진의유가를촉발할여러가지변수도다각도로진단하고있다. 지난해40% 가까이급등한국제유가는올한해에도고공비행을계속할것으로보고있는가운데일부언론은유가 6 0달러시대는이제기정사실화됐다고보도하기도했다. 만약부정적인상황이온다면“WTI 가격은최고 8 0달러, 두바이유가격은최고 6 7달러수준까지상승한다”는전망이나오는가하면“미국과이란의정치적충돌로페르시아만폐쇄사태라도터진다면유가가배럴당 1 0 0달러까지도치솟을수있다”는 경고도 나오고 있다. 우려는 하되 긍정적인 시각도 있다. 고유가가 올해 인플레에 미칠 영향에 대해 경제협력개발기구( O E C D ) 의코엔빈센트수석애널리스트가바로이경우다. 그는최근의고유가는지난 7 0년대와 8 0년대초의석유파동때와는성격이다르다고전제하면서다음과같이진단했다. “당시는공급쪽의충격이컸으나이제는수요급증으로발생하는것”이라고지적하며“선진권경제의석유의존도가크게떨어진점도고유가의파고가큰우려가되지않는다”고밝히고있다. 국내 전문가들도중동정세가 안정되고 미국 경기가 크게 둔화돼 석유수요가감소할경우에도 O P E C의 적극적 감산이예상돼유가가 4 0달러대밑으로내려가기는어려울것으로내다보고있다. 케임브리지에너지연구소( C E R A ) 의경우브렌트유기준으로 지난 연말 배럴당 5 5 . 4달러에서 올해는 5 3 . 5달러로되레떨어질것으로내다봤다. 2006년미국과중국의석유수요가대폭둔화될경우배럴당 4 1 . 3달러까지하락할수도있다는전망을내놨다. 그러나주요산유국의공급차질로인한비관 적인상황이도래할경우엔배럴당7 6달러까지도급등할것이라는경고도덧붙였다. 하여튼 2 0 0 6년유가의향방은고공추세에다주변변수가어떻게잘마무리되느냐, 나아가돌발풍수해에따라선‘껑충’거릴수밖에없다는진단이우세하다. 새해를맞아최근의국제유가동향과나아가유가의향방및변수를진단해봤다.

Structural Study on Dance Story-Telling (무용의 스토리텔링 구조연구)

  • This study aims to examine the physical language of dance art's acceptability of the discourse method of story-telling as a narrative discourse system from the view of story-telling of cultural contents. Dance, through the establishment of relationship between dancers and stage art, can form a discourse system with various literary devices including figures of speech, metaphors, and symbols. The argument over manifestation of dance's narrative components in the concept of story-telling is shown as follows; the background as an object can offer time and spatial backgrounds through stage art and the dancers' performance elements; and, for the character, the dancer himself can be the first-person-narrator and possibly makes plane personality descriptions. As for the elements of main affairs of dance, the stage art components present the background of primary motif of incident and the dancer's diverse relationships form conflicts through the correlation of solo dance, duet, and group dance. The plot as a process of developing the main affair is led by actant such as the dancer's mime actions, gestures, facial expressions, etc. The element of dance's revealing narration is the dance art itself and the developing structure of narration is the dance language's own grammar. Choreographers should compose persuasive dance texts to convey stories efficiently through character decisions, their actions, stage art's elements that display the time and spatial backgrounds, and the development of plot, as a narrative discourse of dance.

Analysing the Narrative Strategy of Co-produced Transnational Romance Films (한일 공동제작 초국적 로맨스 영화의 내러티브 전략분석)

  • This paper attempts to analyze the narrative strategy of co-produced transnational romance films, (2007) and (2010). These films were produced during the heyday of Korean wave, the phenomenon Korean popular culture enjoys overseas fandom. Coupling Korean male star with Japanese female star, and dramatizing their romance, the industries attempted to attract the nations' cultural consumers. International co-production has been considered as a mode of production strategic enough to penetrate into neighboring nations. One of the major benefits of international co-production is to cope with 'cultural discount' between nations. Since producers and directors from different cultural background can participate in the creative process and share ideas, they can devise quite strategic form and content to please culturally heterogeneous consumers. Korea and Japan have long been in socio-political conflict, which makes it crucial for these films' cultural producers not to stir spectators' nationalism. In other words, these films' cultural producers had to develop a narrative strategy not to analogize nations' political reality. This paper, therefore, aims to analyze the narrative structure of these films, and to specify narrative strategy in detail.

A Comparative Study of Storytelling between and (<더 월>과 <노란 잠수함>의 스토리텔링 비교연구)

  • The music videos of and were made based on the music of Pink Floyd and Beatles. This study aims to compare the characteristics of the two songs in terms of music and storytelling method. Previous studies investigated the narrative structure and concept of the storytelling, which are the basis of the images. This study, a comparative study of the two songs, firstly analyzed the narrative structure focusing on the roles and relationships among characters in each song. Secondly, it investigated the method of composition structure and the characteristics of the two pieces of music of which genre is different from each other. Thirdly, it classified the images into intro part, development part, and conclusion part and analyzed by comparison how the song or images inserted in the music interacts with each other. As a result, it was found that described strong progressive rock from the subjective viewpoint through the material storytelling structure by space and it represents the alienation of the hero through simile and metaphor, spatial changes crossing the past and the present, and the actual and non-actual crossover directing. On the other hand, developed a narrative storytelling structure in which progressive fantasy images developed from the psychedelic viewpoint through the confrontation of the good and the bad to deliver the messages of love and peace.

Green in Film Color: Life and Matter (영화의 초록, 생명과 물질)

  • When thinking about the essence of color, green is the image that is settled on the plant itself, and it is also the color shining by the sun. Physics tries to explain green of plants in the correlation of sun and moon, and the history of art contemplates how it is expressed on the canvas. The film attempts to represent a realistic green using camera or computer specific to the medium. Many color theorists who explore the essence of color do not trust the mechanical and reductive scientific colorism that began in Newton and seek a completely different way of exploring in psychology and aesthetics. Like Goethe, who opposed Newton, they do not distinguish the human as subject and the color as object, but focus on the internal grounds of the relationship between subject and color. The representation of color in film is a combination of physics and art. Film color can be expanded to the spiritual dimension beyond the previous emotional and aesthetic, even beyond the physical and mental domains.

A Study on Epistemology of the Body and Christian Education (몸의 인식론과 기독교교육에 관한 연구)

  • This paper examines the epistemology of the body and the direction of Christian education based on it. Looking at Merleau-Ponty, Damagio, and Nelson's epistemology of the body, it found that they had a common point, even though they studied in different areas like philosophy, brain science, and body theology; the body is a subject that perceives the world in a sensuous and direct way, and is a channel that mediates humans and the world, and plays a decisive role in human self-formation. In particular, theology of body revealed, that the body is a pathway for our understanding of God just as a pathway for our understanding the world. In addition, theology of body revealed that the body is regarded as the place of 'embodiment of God', and in the end, the world in which our incarnated body participates should also become the place of 'God's incarnation'. It also examined Christian education based on the epistemology of the body, focusing on 'education starting from the senses', 'education as a participation', and 'incarnational education'. From these three concepts, it found that epistemology of body suggests an alternative view of traditional knowledge-based education or schooling education. It suggests an open paradigm centered on sense and experience, personal participation, non-verbal experience, and field of education, beyond a fixed and closed paradigm of doctrine-centered, objective knowledge mediation, language-centered, and content-centered. Furthermore, this paper found that the body is like a well that can pump up metaphors that provide a basic metaphor for re-conceptualizing Christian education.

  • Job seeking for young adults after college in South Korea is much fierce and highly competitive. Many job seekers tend to experience despair, frustration, and insecurity in such a dire social situation. This study focuses on the job seeking experiences of younger generation people by closely examining the self-introduction letters. This work pays keen attention to the narrative strategies and portrayal of the applicants' self-described activities in these forms of letters through a detailed textual and cultural analysis. In doing so, this analysis attempts to contextualize the complex structures of feeling for the part of young job seekers as well as various social factors and pressures that influence on them.
