  • This study was conducted to determine the types of nurse's image in nurses and nursing students by using Q-methodology. Total 40 Q-samples were extracted from Q-population consisted of the 385 statements, which were collected from 135 nurses with more than one year clinical experience in H city and 250 nursing students at H university. The Q-sample classification was conducted by 10 nurses and 40 nursing students, and data were analyzed by using PQ method program. As results, the types of nurse's images were derived as 'textbooked', 'realistic' and 'periodic.' This study was meaningful in analyzing the types of nurse image from both nurses and nursing students. In order to improve the image of nurses, we propose not only to develop a systematic nursing curriculum but also to develop health and medical policies reflecting reality of care settings.

  • Stop-Motion Animation is the work that gives lives to the objects. In order to give lives to objects and to form story line to persuade the audience, it is important that the reason of choice of color, material, and texture has something to do with the narratives. For this study, among the Garri Bardin's animation, the ones with good representation of the objects have been chosen: Conflict (1983), Fioritures (1987), and Adagio (2000). With these animations, I would like to look for the meaning of existence of the objects, and to consider the importance of the relationship between the types of objects that are represented and the narratives.

  • Research question and method play important roles in conducting a research in a scientifically valid way. In today's digitalized research environment, social network service (SNS) has rapidly become a new source of big data. While this shift provides new challenges for researchers in Korea, there is little scholarly discussion of how research questions can be framed and what statistical methods can be applied. This article suggests some basic but primary types of example questions for researchers employing social big data analytics. Further, we illustrate the interface of the intended data set specifically for SNS-mediated communication and information exchange behaviors. Lastly, a statistical test known as proper method for social big data is introduced.

  • Purpose: This study was to identify the types of subjectivity on PBL experience of freshmen in nursing students. Method: This study is exploratory research through Q methodology. From 102 Q populations, we selected 31 Q sorting was done by 25 of P sample. When the Q sorting is completed on nine point scale, we interviewed participants and documented their responses. The data was analyzed by using QUNAL program. Result: The result of the study showed 4 types. Four factors provided an explanation for 71.6% of total variances, and these four factors were analyzed and categorized as four types. We named type 1 as [positive pressure], type 2 as [relational friendly], type 3 as [creative benefit], type 4 as [paticipatory development]. Conclusion: In this study, PBL was valuable experience and recognized as a variety of perspectives for freshmen in nursing students. These findings indicate we suggest that planning of strategy for efficient operation on PBL was reflected above results.

  • This study, after education for nursing students through texts on hand washing, PPT materials and practices, will investigated the types of the subjects' attitude toward hand washing and attempt to provide basic data needed for nursing education and nursing practice program. As the methods of this research, Q methodology was applied, and 20 sophomores in the Department of Nursing Science as P-sample from October 8, 2012 to October 15, 2012 were asked to distribute Q-sample of 9-point Q-sample distribution, and the collected data were processed with principal factor analysis method by the PC QUANL program. As a result of the research, their attitude toward hand washing was classified into 3 types. The three factors extracted all had eigenvalues greater than 1.0 and explained approximately 56.67% of the variation in responses 40.41%, 10.14% and 6.11% respectively. Type 1 was the ones with the increased number of hand washing; Type 2 was the ones who recognize the need of hand washing education; and Type 3 was the ones who dry hands after washing. In conclusion, the significance of the classification of the types of the attitude after the hand washing education is that with the development of programmes of nursing education and nursing practice, individualized intervention strategies should be differently provided.

  • Objectives: In this study, we examine whether Sasang constitutions include all 8 attitude-function types, forming a complete paradigm from the perspective of Jungian psychological type theory. Methods: Analysis of the meanings of psychological attitudes and function of each Sasang constitution was performed, comparing them with the typological theories of C.G.Jung and John Beebe, both of whom are eminent minds in Jungian typology. Results and Conclusions: (1) Each Sasang constitution had all 8 psychological attitude-function combinations, which are diversely differentiated by type within their conscious and unconscious psyches. This is likely because attitudes and functions that develop in the conscious mind build up compensating attitudes and functions in the unconscious. (2) It seems that extroversion and introversion coexist within every Sasang constitution as psychological descriptions reported by Lee, Je ma state. The superior and inferior functions are disposed in the order of organ size in Sasang constitutions, but dominance of extroversion or introversion as defined by Jung's concepts of attitude does not seem to be determined by constitution.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out how the evolution of digital play in virtualization and digital play tools are combined with and stereotyping the properties of traditional play. Virtualization characteristics and play theory were examined and the case was derived in four types and analyzed in four play properties with Roser Cailliois. In the case of Agon, the targets of mutual competition are expanded to singular and plural, computer and oneself of the future, and Mimicry showed the ambiguity of the segments and boundaries crossing the on-off line boundary, and in the case of Alea, the diversity of accident occurrence by immediacy and simultaneity has been strengthened, and in the case of Ilinx, the maximization of immersion has been developed and experimented with a variety of techniques for the utilization of senses and tools and the virtuality for this. As a result, play is developing due to the tendency to expand and coexist in time and space by various fusion combinations.

  • Non-verbal communication cues seem to be increasingly used in social media, such as emoticon, like, follow, etc. A Q methodology study is conducted to explore this phenomenon. Via a series of focus group activities with Facebook heavy users, 34 Q statements concerning online non-verbal communication cues are derived. Different Facebook users conduct Q sorts of these statements based on frequent use basis. Analysis of Q sort result reveals three distinctive usage patterns of non-verbal communication cues in Facebook: 'safe distance keeping' type, 'observing hermit' type and 'fully dedicated aficionado' type. Discussions are made concerning different components of non-verbal communication cues utilized in these groups, respectively, which can provide a theoretical basis for social media design.

  • This study aims to contribute to our knowledge on gender role identity of middle-aged women within the Korean context. This research adapting Q methodology created a sampling distribution of P with 40 middle-aged women between 40-60 years old. We put each of 40 Q samples to become a forced distribution into 9 scales. And then we conducted a secondary analysis of the results from the principal component factor analysis by the PC QUANL program. Gender role identities of middle aged women were classified as four types: "affectionate-sensitive type", "affectionate-confident type", "assertive-confident type", and "sensitive-dominant type". Most of the middle-aged women in Korea tend to keep their original gender role identities. Some of women, however, experience the gender role identity change over time that their traits of traditional caring become more prominent than their affectionate character.

  • This is a qualitative study about Google 'Nest Hub Max' that displays proactive intelligent personal assistant. Following the step of grounded theory, an in-depth interview for 6 users who had used this device for a month was taken. 186 concepts were discovered, categorized as 11 top-categories and 24 sub-categories. Paradigm diagram, considering axis-coding, was made and it have been narrowed down to 'Usage patterns' of proactive IPA, considering selective coding aspects. 'Usage patterns' were divided to passive and active user. Thus, neither passive user nor active user was satisfied about device and proactive IPA. This study is meaningful that it constructed basic data about the user experience of proactive IPA on this device. It will support the device or service that consists proactive IPA in the future.
