We examined American consumers' perceptions and attitudes toward edible insect-based pet food. In this study, 16 Americans in Korea who owned dogs were categorized into two groups, and focus-group discussions were conducted under three conditions. First, we observed the free association perception of edible insect-based pet food, and attitudes were analyzed after providing a newspaper article related to it. Finally, consumer attitude was examined in the context of purchasing. The study found that the participants had high awareness of the eco-friendliness of edible insects and showed a positive attitude toward news articles related to it. However, when it came to purchasing, they considered nutritional and health functional values compared to environmental values. Meanwhile, the rejection of insects was nevertheless the most important negative factor in pet food, as in general food. The results are significant in confirming the possibility of using insect-based pet food by examining the perceptions and attitudes toward the environmental, nutritional, and health functional values of edible insects under three conditions for American consumers.
In a disaster situation such as COVID-19, our society has experienced the spread of the damage due to confirmed patients who have a negative or uncooperative attitude toward the disclosure of personal information. Accordingly, this study aims to find a policy direction that can improve the awareness of the disclosure of personal information about confirmed COVID-19 patients. This study classified the concept of acceptability into personal and social acceptability, and statistically verified their relationship with influential factors. In this study, 594 cases of data collected through an online survey were used. The analysis results show that the greater the trust in the government's personal information management capability, the lower the perception of the risks associated with the disclosure of personal information, and the lower the awareness of the risk, the higher the personal and social acceptability of the personal information disclosure of COVID-19 confirmed patients. In addition, the greater the recognition of the utility of personal information disclosure, the higher the perception of personal and social acceptability of the personal information disclosure. It is expected that the analysis results and discussions of this study will be useful information for policy development to create a more mature social atmosphere to reduce the public's reluctance to disclose information not only in COVID-19 but also in new disaster situations in the future.

Fire accidents on land and at sea can cause serious casualties; specifically, owing to the nature of marine plants and ships, the mortality rate at sea from suffocation in confined spaces is significantly higher than that on land. To prevent such cases of asphyxiation, it is essential to install ventilation fans that can outwardly direct these toxic gases from fires; however, considering the scale of marine fires, the installation of large ventilation fans is not easy owing to the nature of marine structures. Therefore, in this study, we developed a new concept for fire safety technology to control toxic gases generated by fires from applied direct current (DC) electric fields. In the event of a fire, most flames contain large numbers of positive and negative charges from chemi-ionization, which generates an "ionic wind" by Lorentz forces through the applied electric fields. Using these ionic winds, an experimental study was performed to artificially control the fire smoke caused by burning paper and styrofoam, which are commonly used as insulation materials in general buildings and ships. The experiments showed that a fire smoke could be artificially controlled by applying a DC voltage in excess of ±5 kV and that relatively effective control was possible by applying a negative voltage rather than a positive voltage.
This research aims to provide guidelines with the appropriate type of smart bus stop to reduce the concentration of fine dust. To this end, we divided smart bus stops into two types: closed and open bus stops. The estimated reduction effect was compared and analysed by measuring the estimated PM10 and the estimated PM2.5 at five locations inside and outside a smart bus stop located in Gangnam gu, Seoul. The effect of reducing the amount of the fine dust concentration in external space was insignificant for both types of bus stops. The different effect of reducing the concentration of the amount between in internal space was relatively significant: the fine dust concentration was 26.0 ㎍/m3 for PM10 and 20.2 ㎍/m3 for PM2.5 at open-type bus stops; whilst was 2.4 ㎍/m3 for PM10 and 1.8 ㎍/m3 for PM2.5 at closed type bus stops. Based on the findings, a closed type bus stop is recommended when considering the cost of reducing fine dust. In addition, due to the ineffectiveness of reducing the amount of fine dust from the outside of the bus stop, additional provision of smart bus stops is required particularly in locations where demand exceeds the capacity of the inside. A clear definition of smart bus stop and it's minimum standard should also be considered.

The High Efficiency Image File Format (HEIF) is an MPEG-developed image format that utilizes the video codec H.265 to store still screens in a single image format. The iPhone has been using HEIF since 2017, and Android devices such as the Galaxy S10 have also supported the format since 2019. The format can provide images with good compression rates, but it has a complex internal structure and lacks significant compatibility between devices and software, making it not popular to replace commonly used JPEG (or JPG) files. However, despite the fact that many devices are already using HEIF, digital forensics research regarding it is lacking. This means that we can be exposed to the risk of missing potential evidence due to insufficient understanding of the information contained inside the file during digital forensics investigations. Therefore, in this paper, we analyze the HEIF formatted photo file taken on the iPhone and the motion photo file taken on the Galaxy to find out the information and features contained inside the file. We also investigate whether or not the software we tested support HEIF and present the requirement of forensic tools to analyze HEIF.
This study was conducted to investigate the effect of time of hand-thinning on vegetative growth, bitter pit incidence, fruit quality, and return bloom in 'Gamhong'/M.9 apple trees. The time of hand-thinning were 3, 5, 7 and 9 weeks after full bloom, and the primary thinning (leaving only the king fruit on cluster) and secondary thinning (adjusting crop load) were conducted at the same time. The time of hand-thinning was correlated to the vegetative growth, average fruit wight, yield, soluble solids content, bitter pit incidence, and return bloom, negatively, and to the yield of middle grade fruits (fruit weight was 250-299g and none pit on fruit surface) per tree, calcium contents of leaves, and fruit red color, positively. There was no significant effect of time of hand-thinning on fruit firmness, titratable acidity, and total incomes per tree. In conclusion, if the time of hand-thinning of 'Gamhong'/M.9 apple tree was completed at 9 weeks after full bloom, it could produce about 300g of high-quality fruit without bitter pit.

This study began with the focusing the growth of importance of cultural marketing and its successes by applying to branding in a phase in which the cultural production era has arrived after the industrial production era. This study aimed to reveal the effect of cultural marketing, which are used as marketing strategy in the tourism field, on brand attitude and awareness. Therefore, this study tried to investigate the brand equity and attitude in accordance with the cultural marketing factors by survey Chinese tourists visiting Korea. The result and contents of the study are as follows. First, it was confirmed that the research question on the possibility of market segmentation in accordance with cultural marketing factors; the market segments were classified as Cluster 1 general involvement perceived group, Cluster 2 high involvement perceived group, Cluster3 middle involvement perceived group. Second, it revealed significant differences on brand attitude among the segments; Cluster 2 showed high brand attitude and Cluster 3 showed average level on brand attitude. Third, it found a statistically significant differences in the perception of brand equity including perceived quality, brand awareness and brand image of tourism destination. In conclusion, this study was able to identify market segments in accordance with cultural marketing factors of tourism destination and revealed significant differences in the segments by brand attitude and brand equity. This could provide practical implication that various cultural marketing activities to generate positive results on brand equity and brand attitude and cultural marketing strategies is also needed to increase foreign tourists' awareness of these cultural marketing activities.
As the low fertility intensifies in Korea, this study investigated fundamental differences between the government's low fertility policy and public perception of it. To this end, we selected four times 'Aging Society and Population Policy' documents and news comments for two weeks immediately after announcement of the third and fourth Policy as analysis targets. Then we conducted word frequency analysis, co-occurrence analysis and CONCOR analysis. As a result of analyses, first, direct childcare support during the first and second periods, and a social structural approach during third and fourth periods were noticeable. Second, it was revealed that both policies and comments aim for the work-family compatibility in 'parenting'. Lastly it was showed public interest in environment of raising children and the critical mind to effectiveness of the policy. This study is meaningful in that it confirmed the public perception using big data analysis, and it will help improve the direction for the future low fertility policy.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the employment possibility of the humanities college graduates to science and engineering field occupations, and to identify the occupational characteristics related to employability perceived by workers. To do this, basic statistical analysis, correlation analysis, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis were conducted using the data surveyed on 2,600 workers in the science and engineering field in the 'Research on Korean Occupational Index for Career and Employment Service(2017)'. The main results are as follows. First, the employment possibility of the humanities college graduates to science and engineering field was low, except for some occupations in the information communication, manufacturing and processing fields. Second, the occupational characteristics affecting the employment possibilities of the humanities college graduates to science and engineering field are as follows: low importance of the final education, low importance of the major, low importance of qualification, high importance of vocational training, easy to return after the career break, high level of gender equality, high level of pleasant work environment, high employment retention, easy to self-employment or start-up, and increasing number of jobs. Based on the results of this study, to support employment of humanities college graduate from the occupational aspect, it is necessary to find out some detailed jobs or to develop convergence occupations. At this time, it is possible to utilize the occupational characteristics factors that increase the employment possibility of humanities college graduates to science and engineering occupations.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the food, nutrient intake, and diet quality of postmenopausal women at high risk of osteoporosis (OP) and cardiovascular disease (CVD) compared with those of control subjects. Methods: A total of 1,131 post-menopausal women aged over 45 years, who took the 2010-2011 Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES), were included for analysis. These participants were classified into the following groups: the OP group, with a risk of OP (n=135); the CVD group, with a risk of CVD (n=373); the OP+CVD group, with a risk of OP and CVD concurrently (n=218); and the control group (n=405) according to bone mineral density (BMD) and CVD risk. Anthropometric measurements, blood profiles, dietary intake, and dietary quality indices were measured and compared among the four groups. Results: Waist circumference, total body fat percentage, blood pressure, fasting plasma glucose, total cholesterol, triglyceride, and LDL-cholesterol were higher, and HDL-cholesterol and BMD were lower in the OP+CVD group than in the control group. In the food frequency questionnaire, the OP+CVD group had significantly higher frequencies of grain (except for multi-grain) and lower frequencies of fruit and dairy product. The frequency of consumption of red meat, processed meat, and carbonated beverages was higher in OP+CVD group. In nutrient density analysis, proteins and vitamin $B_2$ levels were significantly lower in the OP+CVD group than in the control group. The nutritional quality index (INQ) values of calcium were in the order of 0.63, 0.58, 0.56, and 0.55 in each group, and it was urgent to improve the dietary intake for calcium in postmenopausal women. In addition, vitamin $B_2$ was inadequately consumed by all groups. Conclusions: These results suggest that it is necessary to increase the intake of vitamin $B_2$ and calcium and decrease the frequency of intake of red meat, processed meat, and carbonated beverages in postmenopausal women with the risk of OP and CVD.
