The purpose of this paper is to help those who research and develop solar cells in university laboratories and industrial sites understand the most basic and important quantum efficiency measurement and analysis method in analyzing solar cell performance. Starting with the definition of quantum efficiency, we calculate the theoretical current density according to the band gap of the solar cell material from the solar spectrum, along with a detailed introduction to the measurement and analysis methods, and measure and analyze the theoretical current density and quantum efficiency. We discuss in depth how to analyze the performance of solar cells through Quantum efficiency measurement and analysis of solar cells is a very useful method that can give intuition to solar cell performance analysis as it can analyze solar cells according to depth (front emitter, bulk, rear surface). Students and researchers who study solar cells with a deep understanding of theoretical current density and quantum efficiency measurement analysis are expected to use it as a basis for analyzing solar cell performance.
The power conversion efficiency of organic solar cells has reached over 18%. The rapid increase in the efficiency is largely associated with the development of electron acceptors paired with proper electron donor polymers. In this mini review, the progress of organic solar cells is reviewed in terms of the development of electron acceptors. In the first part of the review, fullerene-based electron acceptors that have led the first half of organic solar cell development were dealt with. In the second part of it, nonfullerene-based electron acceptors, which have potentials to overcome the demerits of fullerene-based electron acceptors and opened a new era of organic solar cells, were introduced. Lastly, some suggestions to tackle the efficiency barrier of 20% are given with the summary of the review in the closing section.

This study was on electrode design for the realization of a solar cell that combines electrode formation and module integration process to overcome printing limitations. We used the passivated emitter rear contact (PERC) solar cell. Wafer size was 156.75 mm ×156.75 mm. The fabricated cell results showed that the open-circuit voltage of 649 mV, short-circuit current density of 36.15 mA/cm2, fill factor of 68.5%, and efficiency of 16.06% with electrode conditions the 24BBs with the width 190 ㎛ and 90FBs with the width 45 ㎛. For improving efficiency, the characteristics of the solar cell were checked according to the change in the number of BBs and FBs and the change in line fine width. It is confirmed that the efficiency of the solar cell will be improved by increasing the number of FBs from 90 to 120, and increasing the line width of the FBs by about 10 ㎛ compared to the manufacturing solar cells.

Recently, satellites equipped with high-performance electronics have required higher power consumption because of the advancement of satellite missions. For this reason, the size of the solar panel is gradually increasing to meet the required power budget. Increasing the size and weight of the solar panel is one of the factors that induce the elastic vibration of the flexible solar panel during the highly agile maneuvering of the satellite or the mode of vibration coupling to the satellite or the mode of vibration coupling to the micro-jitter from the on-board appendages. Previously, an additional damper system was applied to reduce the elastic vibration of the solar panel, but the increase in size and mass of system was inevitable. In this study, to overcome the abovementioned limitations, we proposed a high -damping yoke structure consisting of a superplastic SMA(Shape Memory Alloy) laminating a thin FR4 layer with viscoelastic tape on both sides. Therefore, this advantage contributes to system simplicity by reducing vibrations with small volume and mass without additional system. The effectiveness of the proposed superelastic SMA multilayer solar panel yoke was validated through free vibration testing and temperature testing using a solar panel dummy.
In general, a non-explosive nylon wire cutting-based holding and release mechanism has been used to store and deploy deployable solar panels of CubeSat. However, with this method, accessing the solar panel's access port for charging the cube satellite's battery and electrical inspection and testing of the PCB and payloads while the solar panel is in storage is difficult. Additionally, the mechanism must have a reliable release function in an in-orbit environment, and reusability for stow and deploy of the solar panel, which is a hassle for the operator and difficult to maintain a consistent nylon wire fastening process. In this study, we proposed a pin-puller-based solar panel holding and release mechanism that can easily deploy a solar panel without cutting nylon wires by separating constraining pins. The proposed mechanism's release function and performance were verified through a solar panel deployment test and a maximum separation load measurement test. Through this, we also verified the design feasibility and effectiveness of the pin-puller-based separation device.

In this paper, we describe the Solar Car, Woongbi, which was created to participate in the World Solar Challenge(WSC) at the team NeulHaeRang of Korea National University of Transportation. The WSC is the world's largest solar car racing competition and has a separate automobile regulation and must be manufactured to meet the regulations. Therefore, the key point of the solar car design is to optimize the energy efficiency based on the regulations. The solar car's drive system consists of a solar array to convert solar energy into electric energy, a maximum power point tracker (MPPT) controller to track the converted electric energy to maximum output power, a battery to store the produced electric energy, a BLDC (Brushless DC) motor for driving the vehicle by converting energy into mechanical energy, and a motor controller for controlling the BLDC. The optimal design methods for solar energy conversion and electric driving system of battery, motor are presented in this paper.

Recently, organic semiconductor based indoor photovoltaics have gained attention since they exhibit excellent photovoltaic performance than that of conventional Si-based photovoltaics. In this study, we synthesize the medium bandgap polymer of PTBT and optimize PTBT:PC71BM blend films by introducing solvent additives. To this end, we select DIO and CN solvent additives and vary their contents from 0 to 3 vol%. As a result, we produce the highest power conversion efficiency of 11.31% under LED 1000 lx conditions with DIO (1.5 vol%) + CN (0.5 vol%)

Moisture infiltration inside the solar cell module, filling of EVA sheet, melting of the frame seal, and deterioration of power generation performance in the module one year after installation are occurring. Whitening phenomenon, electrode corrosion phenomenon, and dielectric breakdown phenomenon are appearing in solar cell module installed in Korea before 5-7 years, leading to deterioration of power generation performance, and big problems for long-term reliability and long life technology are emerging. Therefore, in order to solve these problems, the development of a micro inverter (MiCrco Inverter Converter, MiC) including the function of securing the durability of the solar cell module and monitoring the aging progress and the solar cell based on the monitoring data from the MiC smart monitoring programs have been proposed to determine the aging of modules. In addition, in order to become a highly efficient solar smart monitoring system through systematic operation management through IT convergence with MiC that has enhanced monitoring function of solar cell module, SoC(System On Chip) in micro inverter is the environment for solar cell module. There is a demand for functions that can detect information in a complex manner and perform communication and control when necessary. Based on these requirements, this paper aims to develop SoC-based low-cost MiC smart photovoltaic system technology.
