Analyzing Spectral Characteristics of Salt Marsh Vegetation Around Donggumdo Tidal Flat in Ganghwado, Korea (강화도 동검도 주변 조간대 내에 서식하는 염생식물의 분광특성 분석)

  • Suaeda japonica is the one of halophyte species which is widely spread in the Ganghwado tidal flat. Halophyte affects to the vertical development of wetland by enhancing the adhesion force of sediments. If demineralization of tidal flat proceeds, the colony of halophyte moves to the seaside where has relatively high salinity content. The change of halophyte zonation can be an environmental indicator to understand the landization of tidal flat. To interpret the spectral characteristics of halophyte, we measured the reflectance of suaeda japonica, reed and sediment around Donggumdo tidal flat in Ganghwado. First and second-derivation analysis was applied to these transformed spectra in order to identify which spectral ranges were distinguished with different coastal wetland vegetation and artificial structures. From the result, red reflectance peak of suaeda japonica were appeared at 600-650nm and greed reflectance peak of reed were appeared at 500-570nm. Spectra of sediments were continuously increased from 350-550nm without any absorption by chlorophyll. These reflectance were easily identified among the spectra of halophyte.

  • Molar cyclization equilibrium constant (K$_{x}$) of poly(alkylene terephthalate) (PAT) cyclics was calculated by the Monte Carlo simulation on the basis of rotational isomeric state (RIS) model. The experimental $K_{x}$ of PAT cyclics, which was not clearly explained by the Jacobson-Stockmayer theory and the method of Flory, Suter, and Mutter however, was explained well by the direct computational method with the reaction radius ${\gamma}$=0.5 < ${\gamma}^{2}$> $^{1/2}$. The effect of PAT conformation on $K_{x}$ of PAT cyclics was investigated by changing its statistical weight parameters, ${\sigma}_{1}$ and ${\sigma}_{2}{\cdot}K_{x}$ of PAT cyclics obtained by the direct computation method with various radii and the radius ${\gamma}$=0.5 < ${\gamma}^{2}$> $^{1/2}$ was slightly changed with ${\sigma}_{1}$ and ${\sigma}_{2}$. Consequently, it was concluded that $K_{x}$ of PAT cyclics is strongly dependent on the configuration of each PAT and affected by the change of its conformation to some extent.

A study on simplification of SWMM for prime time of urban flood forecasting -a case study of Daerim basin- (도시홍수예보 골든타임확보를 위한 SWMM유출모형 단순화 연구 -대림배수분구를 중심으로-)

  • The rainfall-runoff model made of sewer networks in the urban area is vast and complex, making it unsuitable for real-time urban flood forecasting. Therefore, the rainfall-runoff model is constructed and simplified using the sewer network of Daerim baisn. The network simplification process was composed of 5 steps based on cumulative drainage area and all parameters of SWMM were calculated using weighted area. Also, in order to estimate the optimal simplification range of the sewage network, runoff and flood analysis was carried out by 5 simplification ranges. As a result, the number of nodes, conduits and the simulation time were constantly reduced to 50~90% according to the simplification ranges. The runoff results of simplified models show the same result before the simplification. In the 2D flood analysis, as the simplification range increases by cumulative drainage area, the number of overflow nodes significantly decreased and the positions were changed, but similar flooding pattern was appeared. However, in the case of more than 6 ha cumulative drainage area, some inundation areas could not be occurred because of deleted nodes from upstream. As a result of comparing flood area and flood depth, it was analyzed that the flood result based on simplification range of 1 ha cumulative drainage area is most similar to the analysis result before simplification. It is expected that this study can be used as reliable data suitable for real-time urban flood forecasting by simplifying sewer network considering SWMM parameters.

  • Constructing a reliable runoff model and reducing model runtime are important in research of real-time urban flood forecasting to reduce the repetitive flood damage. Sewer networks in the major urban basin such as Seoul are vast and complex so that it is not suitable for real-time urban flood forecasting. Therefore, the rainfall-runoff model should be simplified. However, the runoff results due to the simplification of sewer networks can vary depending on the subjectivity and simplification method of the researcher and there is a significant difference especially in 2-D inundation analysis. In this study, the sewer networks in various urban basins with different numbers and distributions of sewer networks were simplified to certain criteria. The accuracy of the simplification model according to the sewer network scale is evaluated by 2-D inundation analysis. The runoff models of Gwanak, Sillim, and Dorimcheon, frequently inundated basins were simplified based on four simplification ranges due to the cumulative drainage area set as a criterion for calculating the simplification range. This study will be expected that the inundation result of simplification models estimated through the analysis can contribute to the construction of a reasonable and accurate runoff model suitable for real-time flood forecasting.

  • HVDC 케이블은 장거리 전력전송, 국가간 계통연계, 비동기 전력계통연계, 전력의 시장화에 따른 전력공급 제어 필요에 따라 세계적으로 널리 사용되고 있다. 국내에서는 현재 유일하게 제주-해남간 180kV HVDC 해저케이블이 운영 중에 있으며, 향후 제주도의 안정적인 전력공급을 위하여 2011년에 제주-육지간 250kV HVDC 해저케이블이 추가로 건설될 예정이다. 그래서 HVDC 해저케이블의 신속 정확하게 안정적이고 신뢰성 있는 운영을 위해서 국내에서 자체 개발한 HVDC 해저케이블에 대한 장기과통전 시험에 대한 평가 및 절차가 필요하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 HVDC 해저케이블의 장기과통전 시험평가를 위하여 전기적 시험은 CIGRE에서 권고하고 있는 Electra 189, 219에 근거하고 기계적 시험은 IEC 60055-1, Elecrta 171에 근거하여 기술하고자 한다.

A Design of Web Browsing System based on Content Retransmission in Marine Satellite Network (해양 위성통신망에서 콘텐츠 재전송 기반 웹 브라우징 서비스 시스템 설계)

  • With the development of digital satellite communication technology and the widespread use of smart devices, the demand for data communication in the maritime ship has increased. Recently, the communication between the maritime ship and the land is based on Inmarsat satellite service. The Inmarsat provides telephone, fax, data and telex service etc. However, since the satellite is payper-seconds billing service, the transmission of whole web contents to the maritime ship through the satellite causes high cost. In this paper, we propose web browsing system architecture that reduces the data traffic on the satellite link and retransmits the content selectively in order to solve these problems.

  • Video monitoring techniques and their applications to beaches were reviewed. The recent development of video hardware and image process made it possible to measure shoreline changes, sandbar morphology, wave runup, swash motion, and so on using video camaras. Especially, quantitative information from the video image can be obtained by digitization of image, rectification procedure, and image process. Using video monitoring techniques, measurements can be made at much lower cost and for long periods of time compared to the traditional measurement techniques, although these techniques are of lower accuracy and provide only indirect information on the land and water surface.

항만개발에 의한 조석조류 및 수질변화 예측을 위한 시뮬레이션 모델 연구

  • 항만개발 사업은 매립이나 준설과 같은 해안선과 해저지형을 변화시키는 공사가 이루어지며 이는 조석조류 현상의 변화를 유발하게 된다. 특히 해안지형이 복잡한 항만이나 하구에서는 변화정도가 크게 나타나며 방파제나 선박접안 시설과 같은 항내 구조물을 축조 할 경우에도 조석조류 변화가 야기된다. 조석조류 현상의 변화는 해양 수질과 생물상에 영 향을 줄뿐만 아니라 인접한 육지에 이르기까지 크다란 피해를 유발할 수가 있다. 창조시 해 수를 육지로 범람하게 하거나 퇴적이나 침식조건을 변화시킬 수도 있으며 오염물질이 외해 로 확산되는 과정을 방해하고 해양생물의 서식조건을 악화시켜 부근 해역의 어업에 피해를 유발할 수도 있다. 또한 해안 공사 과정에 해수로 유입되는 토사나 항만 이용시에 배출되는 폐수 등이 항내 수질과 생태계를 변화시킬 수 있다. 따라서 조석조류와 수질변화를 사전에 예측하고 이를 최소화하는 방안이 강구되어야 한다. 조석조류와 수질 변화를 사전에 예측하 는 방법으로 축소모형 실험과 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션이 사용된다. 축소모형 실험은 현장을 재현 하는데 많은 경비와 시간이 소모되며 예측에 한계가 있다. 반면에 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션은 대 상해역의 지형과 조류 그리고 수질특성에 적합하게 모델을 개발할 경우 예측력이 매우 높기 때문에 현재 가장 널리 이용되고 있다. 본 연구는 유한 요소법에 기초하여 미국 공병단 (United States Army Corps of Engineers)에서 개발한 TABS-2 모델을 이용하여 온산항에 서 시행되는 부두건설에 따른 조석조류 및 수질변화를 시뮬레이션하였다. 측정된 자료로 모 델 계수를 보정하고 검증하였으며 항내 매립과 준설이 이루어질 때 나타나는 조위와 조속변 화를 예측하였다. 매립과 준설공사시 유출되는 토사가 조석조류현상에 따라 이동 확산되는 범위와 농도분포를 예측하였다.ophobic components)은 75~80%, 친수성 물질(hydrophilic components)은 30~33%정도의 분포를 보였고, 전염소 및 전오존 공정을 거친 처리수에서는 각각 62.2-62.8%, 43.9~49.0% 및 50~ 55%, 40~57% 정도의 분포를 보였다. 그리고 웅집-침전을 거친 처리수에서는 그 분포가 77~82%, 24-48%였다. 전주리 공정을 통하여 소수성 물질(byoghobic components)의 분포가 감 소하는 것을 볼 때 전염소 및 전오존 처리가 용존유기물의 응집에는 오히려 역 효과를 나타내는 것으로 판단된다. 것으로 판단된다.여 황토 2g에 대하여 Hieltijes and Lijklema 방법에 의해 Adsorbed-p, Nonapatite inorganic-P(NAI-P), Apatite-p, Organic-P로 구분하여 분석하고, 총인(Total Phosphorus)을 Standard Methods에 따라 Persulfate digestion후 0.45 m membrane 여지 여과하여 여액에 대해 PO3-4-P의 농도를 Ascorbic Acid 법으로 측정한 결과, NAI-P가 가장 큰 비율을 차지하였고, 부원료로 첨가된 금속 양이온 중 Fe3-이온이 흡착에 기여하는 정도가 가장 큰 것으로 평가되었다.다당류 T-AS의 보체 활성화 기작은 classical과 alternative complement pathway의 양 경로를 통해 활성화 되었다. T-AS 분획은 mouse내의 특정 혈청단백을 증가시켰으며, 항체 생성능의 증가가 관찰되어 effect T 세포의 활성화가 나타나고 있음을 알 수 있었다. T-AS는 생체내 투여시에 대식세포의 탐식능이 증진되었으며, 대식세포 기능 저해제에 의한 대식세포의 기능 저해 현상이 회복되었다. 이와 같은 결과들로부터, T-AS의 항암 활성은 활성

Composite model for seawater intrusion in groundwater and soil salinization due to sea level rise (해수면 상승으로 인한 지하수 해수침투 및 토양 염류화 합성 평가모델)

  • Sea level rise, accompanied by climate change, is expected to exacerbate seawater intrusion in the coastal groundwater system. As the salinity of saturated groundwater increases, salinity can increase even in the unsaturated soil above the groundwater surface, which may cause crop damage in the agricultural land. The other adverse impact of sea level rise is reduced unsaturated soil thicknesses. In this study, a composite model to assess impacts of sea level rise in coastal agricultural land is proposed. The composite model is based on the combined applications of a three dimensional model for simulating saltwater intrusion into the groundwater and a vertical one dimensional model for simulating unsaturated zone flow and transport. The water level and salinity distribution of groundwater are calculated using the three dimensional seawater intrusion model. At some uppermost nodes, where salinity are higher than the reference value, of the 3D mesh one dimensional unsaturated zone modeling is conducted along the soil layer between the ground water surface and the ground surface. A particular location is judged salinized when the concentration at the root-zone depth exceeds the tolerable salinity for ordinary crops. The developed model is applied to a hypothetical agricultural reclamation land. IPCC RCP 4.5 and 8.5 scenarios were used as sea level rise data. Results are presented for 2050 and 2100. As a result of the study, it is predicted that by 2100 in the climate change scenario RCP 8.5, there will be 7.8% increase in groundwater saltwater-intruded area, 6.0% increase of salinized soil area, and 1.6% in increase in water-logging area.

Implementation for Hardware IP of Real-time Face Detection System (실시간 얼굴 검출 시스템의 하드웨어 IP 구현)

  • This paper propose the hardware IP of real-time face detection system for mobile devices and digital cameras required for high speed, smaller size and lower power. The proposed face detection system is robust against illumination changes, face size, and various face angles as the main cause of the face detection performance. Input image is transformed to LBP(Local Binary Pattern) image to obtain face characteristics robust against illumination changes, and detected the face using face feature data that was adopted to learn and generate in the various face angles using the Adaboost algorithm. The proposed face detection system can be detected maximum 36 faces at the input image size of QVGA($320{\times}240$), and designed by Verilog-HDL. Also, it was verified hardware implementation by using Virtex5 XC5VLX330 FPGA board and HD CMOS image sensor(CIS) for FPGA verification.
