Stress Analysis of Arctic Thaw Settlement with Gas Pipeline using Finite Element Method (유한요소해석을 활용한 극한지 융해침하에 따른 천연가스배관의 응력해석)

  • It is important to secure the supply of gas in arctic region which is not developed recently due to depleting of fossil fuel. It is competing in order to secure the arctic region. The need for the occurring the pipeline design in arctic region is essential for development. In this study, we develop the model of thaw settlements for analysis the stress and displacement which applied with pipe in arctic region between $-40^{\circ}C$ to $20^{\circ}C$. The soil was applied with Mohr-coulomb theory and pipe was elasto-plastic method.

  • In this study, structural behavior of bolted joints which were important elements in plate girder design was analyzed using commercial FE analysis program. Also, the numerical analysis method that simply showed behavior of bolts was proposed using the connector element of ABAQUS, nonlinear FE program. Numerical analysis was conducted to verify the proposed numerical analysis method on the basis of the experiment of previous study. In order to investigate effects of action force which was changed by locations of the bolted joints, the three different models were developed by the locations of the bolted joints and behavior for the each model was compared and analyzed by various design parameters (area of splice plates, stiffness of splice plates, and stiffness of bolts). The moment-displacement relations of structures for the various design parameters were investigated to analyze effects of each parameter in ultimate behavior of the structures. Also, the effects of each parameter were compared by force.

  • Considering uncertainties of random input data, it is more reasonable to use probabilistic method than the conventional deterministic method for the design of structures or for the assessment of the responses of structures, which are designed as safe even under extreme loads. Therefore, to assess the quantitative effects of the constructed cable stayed bridge by the input random variables, a sensitivity analysis is studied. Using perturbation method, an analysis program is developed for the iterative probabilistic finite element analyses and sensitivity analyses of the cable stayed bridge, except the initial shape analysis. Monte-Carlo Simulations were used for the verification of the developed program. The results of sensitivity analysis shows the governing effects of external loads.   • The objective of this research is to investigate the effectiveness of rotating orthotropic axes model in analyzing reinforced concrete planar members under cyclic as well as monotonic loading. The structural members to be addressed are moderately reinforced beams, columns, beam-column joints, and shear walls, whose failure occurs due to compressive crushing after extensive crack propagation, The rotating orthotropic axes model which is usually used for monotonic loading is developed for cyclic loading. With the existing cyclic material models of reinforcing steel and bond-slip, this material model is used for the finite element analysis. For monotonic loading, the analytical results of the rotating orthotropic axes model are compared with reinforced concrete beams which have brittle failure. For Shear wall members under cyclic loading, the analyses are compared with the experiments for the ultimate load capacity, nonlinear deformation, and pinching effect due to crack opening and closing.

A Study on the Optimal Number fo Cross Beam of Standard P.S.C Girder Bridge by Static Analysis (정적해석에 의한 표준적인 P.S.C거더 교량의 적정 가로보 수에 관한 연구)

  • 본 논문에서는 현행 표준적인 P.S.C거더 교량의 적정 가로보 수를 위한 매개변수 연구를 수행하였다. 교량의 길이는 P.S.C거더교로서 국내에서 가장 흔히 사용되는 30m의 단순교를 채택하였다. 교량의 해석방법으로는 상부의 슬래브와 거더를 효율적으로 모델링하기 위하여 정밀해석법인 유한요소법을 사용하였다. 본 연구에서 사용된 매개변수로는 크게 두 가지로 분류되는데, 하나는 사용된 가로보의 개수이고 다른 하나는 교량의 사각(Skew)이다. 상부 슬래브는 쉘 요소와 빔 요소를 연결하는데 효율적인 회전자유도를 가지는 쉘 요소로 모델링 하였다. 슬래브와 거더의 중심축이 이격되어 있는 문제를 정확히 고려하기 위하여 편심보 요소를 사용하였다. 해석 모델은 가로보가 각각 7,5,3개 있는 경우를 선정하였다. 이러한 조건하에서 정적 해석을 수행하여 최대 휨모멘트, 전단력, 비틀림 모멘트값을 구하여 현행 시방서에서 규정된 극한치를 만족하는지 검토하였다. 검토결과 현재 사용되고 있는 P.S.C거더 교량에서의 가로보 개수는 과다한 것으로 판단되며 경제적인 설계를 위하여 가로보의 개수를 줄일 수 있을 것으로 제안하였다.

Nonlinear Analysis of Skew Plates by $C^{\circ}$-Hierarchical Plate Element ($C^{\circ}$-계층적 평판요소에 의한 경사평판의 비선형 해석)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 평판의 모서리 둔각이 135도까지를 갖는 재료적 비선형 경사평판을 해석하기 위해 C°-계층적 평판요소를 개발하는 것이다. 기하학적 변환을 통해 경사진 경계조건은 직각좌표계의 좌표변환을 이용하여 해결할 수 있다. 여기서, 경사경계는 경사진 변 전체 또는 경사교량의 교좌위치와 관련된 몇 개의 선택지점만을 고려할 수 있게 하였다. 이 목적을 위해 경사교량의 교좌장치의 이동방향을 설명할 수 있도록 1차 전단변형을 갖는 Reissner/Mindlin 평판이론에 기초를 둔 5-자유도 경사평판요소가 정식화되었다. 한편, 평판의 극한내하력을 추정하기 위해 von-Mises 항복기준에 기초를 둔 소성유동법칙을 갖는 증분소성이론이 채택되었다. 또한, ADINA 소프트웨어에 의한 h-version 모델과 제안된 p-version 모델을 사용하여 경사각, 경계조건과 하중의 변화에 따른 영향을 조사하였다. 해석결과는 이론값과 문헌에 보고된 수치해석값과 비교되었다. 자유도 수에 따른 정확도를 비교기준으로 한다면, 본 연구에서 제안된 해석모델은 지금까지 개발된 가장 효율적 도구의 하나라고 할 수 있다.

Influence of Various Parameter for Nonlinear Finite Element Analysis of FRP-Concrete Composite Beam Using Concrete Damaged Plasticity Model (콘크리트 손상 소성모델을 이용한 FRP-콘크리트 합성보의 비선형 유한요소해석에서 여러 변수들의 영향)

  • This paper examines the flexure behavior of FRP-concrete composite structure that can replace conventional reinforced concrete structure types. In order to investigate the structural performance and behavioral characteristics in numerical analysis means, ABAQUS, a general purpose finite element analysis program, was utilized for nonlinear finite element analysis, and the various variables and their influences were analyzed and compared with experimental results to suggest values optimized to this composite structure. The concrete damage plasticity model and Euro code for concrete were used. In the implicit finite element analysis, the convergence was ambiguous when geometrical and material nonlinearity were large, so the explicit finite element analysis used in this study was deemed to be appropriate. From the comparison with the experiment about concrete damaged plasticity model, 20mm for the mesh size, $30^{\circ}$ for the dilation angle, $100Nmm/mm^2$ for the value of fracture energy, 0.667 for Kc value, and the consideration of damage parameter were suggested believed to be appropriate. The numerical model suggested in this study was able to imitate the ultimate load and cracking pattern very well; therefore, it is expected to be utilized in research of various new material composite structures.

Structural Integrity of Small Wind Turbine Composite Blade Using Structural Test and Finite Element Analysis (구조시험 및 유한요소해석을 통한 소형풍력발전용 복합재 블레이드의 구조 안전성 평가)

  • This study deals with structural analysis and testing under loading conditions calculated by computational fluid dynamics for a small composite blade that is utilized in a dual rotor wind turbine system. First, the aerodynamic forces were analyzed at the rated and cutout wind speed to identify the bending moment distribution along the blade length in previous research. Then, full-scale structural tests were conducted according to IEC 61400-2 to evaluate the structural integrity of the composite blade. These results were compared with finite element analysis to identify the accuracy of the structural analysis. Based on these results, it was revealed that the existing blade has a very high safety margin. Then, the layup of the composite blade was redesigned and analyzed using finite element analysis to achieve structural integrity and economic efficiency.

Proposed Reduction Factor of Cyclic p-y Curves for Drilled Shafts in Weathered Soil (풍화토 지반에 근입된 현장타설말뚝의 Cyclic p-y 곡선의 감소계수 제안)

  • A fundamental study of drilled shafts subjected to lateral cyclic loading in weathered soil was carried out based on field tests and numerical analysis. The emphasis was given on quantifying the cyclic p-y curve function from lateral cyclic loading tests and three-dimensional finite element analysis. Lateral cyclic loading tests and three-dimensional finite element analysis were carried out to investigate the behavior of drilled shafts according to the direction of cyclic loading. Based on the field tests and numerical analysis, a modified lateral load transfer relationship and design chart with degradation factors were proposed by considering the characteristics of cyclic loading. It was found that the prediction by the proposed p-y curve function is in good agreement with the general trends observed by in-situ measurements, and it represents a practical improvement in the prediction of lateral displacement and bending moment distribution of drilled shafts subjected to cyclic loading.

  • A general finite element method is developed to analyze reinforced concrete plates under dead loads and monotonically increasing live loads. This method can be used to trace the load-deformation response and crack propagation through elastic, inelastic and ultimate ranges. The internal concrete and steel stresses can also be determined for any stage of the response history. A layered 8 node isoparametric element taking account of coupling effect between the membrane and the bending action is developed. An incremental tangent stiffness method is used to obtain a numerical solution. Validity of the method is studied by comparing the numerical solutions with other results.
