길이가 유한한 선접촉의 탄섬유체윤활

  • 로울러 베어링의 로울러는 길이방향으로 적당하게 Profiling하여 양단부에서 발생하는 응력집중을 줄이고 있다. 로울러와 레이스간의 접촉을 단순한 탄성접촉문제로 해석하는 경우에는 유막의 개념이 없어서 로울러와 레이스 사이의 압력분포와 유막형상을 정확하게 나타내기가 어려우므로 탄성변형과 압력에 따른 윤활유의 점도 변화를 고려한 탄성유체윤활(EHL)해석이 필요하다. 대부분의 해석은 무한장 로울러로 취급하는 것이 보통이며 실제의 로울러에 해당하는 유한한 길이의 선접촉 EHL 해석은 Mostofi & Gohar 및 Kuroda & Arai의 해석 정도이나 각각은 수렴하중이 작거나 로울러의 길이가 아주 짧은 경우에 해당한다. 본 연구에서는 FDM과 Newton-Raphson method를 이용하여 길이가 유한한 실제 크기의 Profiled 로울러에 대한 EHL상태에서의 압력분포와 유막형상을 보다 하중이 온 경우에 대해서 구하고자 한다.

Sequential Use of COMSOL Multiphysics® and PyLith for Poroelastic Modeling of Fluid Injection and Induced Earthquakes (COMSOL Multiphysics®와 PyLith의 순차 적용을 통한 지중 유체 주입과 유발지진 공탄성 수치 모사 기법 연구)

  • Geologic sequestration technologies such as CCS (carbon capture and storage), EGS (enhanced geothermal systems), and EOR (enhanced oil recovery) have been widely implemented in recent years, prompting evaluation of the mechanical stability of storage sites. As fluid injection can stimulate mechanical instability in storage layers by perturbing the stress state and pore pressure, poroelastic models considering various injection scenarios are required. In this study, we calculate the pore pressure, stress distribution, and vertical displacement along a surface using commercial finite element software (COMSOL); fault slips are subsequently simulated using PyLith, an open-source finite element software. The displacement fields, are obtained from PyLith is transferred back to COMSOL to determine changes in coseismic stresses and surface displacements. Our sequential use of COMSOL-PyLith-COMSOL for poroelastic modeling of fluid-injection and induced-earthquakes reveals large variations of pore pressure, vertical displacement, and Coulomb failure stress change during injection periods. On the other hand, the residual stress diffuses into the remote field after injection stops. This flow pattern suggests the necessity of numerical modeling and long-term monitoring, even after injection has stopped. We found that the time at which the Coulomb failure stress reaches the critical point greatly varies with the hydraulic and poroelastic properties (e.g., permeability and Biot-Willis coefficient) of the fault and injection layer. We suggest that an understanding of the detailed physical properties of the surrounding layer is important in selecting the injection site. Our numerical results showing the surface displacement and deviatoric stress distribution with different amounts of fault slip highlight the need to test more variable fault slip scenarios.

Performance Evaluation of Stator-Rotor Cascade System Considering Flow Viscosity and Aeroelastic Deformation Effects (유동점성 및 공탄성 변형효과를 고려한 스테이터-로터 케스케이드 시스템의 성능평가)

  • In this study, advanced (fluid-structure interaction (FSI)) analysis system has been developed in order to predict turbine cascade performance with blade deformation effect due to aerodynamic loads. Intereference effects due to the relative movement of the rotor cascade with respect to the stator cascade are also considered. Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations with one equation Spalart-Allmaras and two-equation k-ω SST turbulence models are solved to accurately predict fluid dynamic loads considering flow separation effects. A fully implicit time marching scheme based on the (coupled Newmark time-integration method) with high artificial damping is efficiently used to compute the complex fluid-structure interaction problem. Predicted aerodynamic performance considering structural deformation effect of the blade shows somewhat different results compared to the case of rigid blade model. Cascade performance evaluations for different elastic axis positions are importantly presented and its aeroelastic effects are investigated.

  • A disposable drug infuser is used to provide drugs to patients who are not hospitalized; in this infuser, an elastic recovery force is exerted by a diaphragm made of a rubber-like materialsuch that a constant amount of drugs is provided to a patient. The drug infuser has to control the speed and amount of drugs to be released, as well as the overall duration for which they are to be administered. However, in a drug infuser with an elastic diaphragm, the infusion pressure depends on the amount of drug remaining within the infuser, and the amount of drug infused gradually decreases as the amount remaining in the infuser decreases. In this study, a finite element procedure involving the application of the fluid-structure interaction technique was developed and the performance of the elastic type disposable drug infuser was analyzed. The optimum design for ensuring that the infusion pressure remains constant throughout the duration of usage, including during infusion and discharge, was determined by this procedure.

  • 선체응답의 변화를 고찰, 계산 결과를 요약하였다. 이에 대한 계산은 유체 동력학적 해석을 이용하였으며 본 이론의 합리성을 아울러 지적하였다. 선체의 유연성을 증가시킴으로서 추격선두 굽힘 모멘트는 줄지만, 모멘컴 굽힘 모멘트는 일반적으로 증가함이 나타났다.

  • 본 연구에서는 내심형 장력재가 셀 벽속에 묻혀 있는 경우에, 셀의 진동 및 내부 음압을 셀과 장력부재 그리고 내부 충진유체들의 상호 작용을 고려하여 계산하였다. 계산 결과, 셀 재료와 인장 부재의 탄성계수, 감쇠특성의 차이에 따라 응답이 변화함을 확인할 수 있었으며, 각각의 재료 특성 및 설계 변수들에 대한 추가 연구를 수행하여, 내심형 장력 부재를 갖는 유체 충진 원통형 셀의 진동 전달 특성 해석 및 최적화 설계에 이 연구 결과들을 적용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • 본 연구에서는 자성유체를 기반으로 마이크로 스케일 유체를 이동시키기 위한 pump를 모델링하고 실험을 통해 동작을 확인한다. 탄성체와 자성유체로 구성된 횡경막이 연속적으로 움직이는 형태의 액츄에이터는 pump와 같은 움직임을 일으키는데, 이 때 움직이는 유체의 양은 매우 극소량으로 제어 가능하며, 액적의 이동속도는 자성유체를 통한 횡경막의 반복적인 움직임의 속도에 의해 결정된다. 자력에 의한 횡경막의 변위에 따른 액적의 양을 유추하고 고안된 마이크로 스케일의 pump의 예측된 움직임을 실제 제작하여 비교 관찰하고자 한다.

Modeling of Multi-Boom Floating Crane for Lifting Analysis of Offshore Wind Turbine (해상 풍력 발전기 리프팅 해석을 위한 해상 크레인 멀티 붐 모델링)

  • The dynamic responses of a 5 MW wind turbine lifted by a floating crane with two elastic booms are analyzed. Dynamic equations of motions of a multibody system that consists of a floating crane, two elastic booms, and a wind turbine are derived. The six-degree-of-freedom (DOF) motions for the floating crane and the wind turbine are considered in the equations of motions. The hydrostatic force, the hydrodynamic force due to a regular wave, the mooring force, the wire rope force, and the gravitational force are considered as external forces. By solving the equations numerically, the dynamic responses of cargo are simulated. The simulation results are compared with those in the case of one elastic boom. Finally, the dynamic responses of the wind turbine lifted by the floating crane are analyzed under regular wave condition.
