Development and implementation of project teaching-learning plan for 'residential space utilization' of home economics for creativity and character education (창의.인성 교육을 위한 가정과 프로젝트 교수.학습안 개발 및 효과 - '주거 공간 활용' 단원을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study was to develope and implement a project teaching learning process plan in order to improve a creativity and character for 'residential space utilization' section of Technology Home Economics in middle school. The teaching learning process plan consisting of 15-session lessons had been developed and implemented according to the ADDIE model mixed with 6 project learning steps. In the development stage, 8 activity materials(7 individual and 1 group activity sheets) and 7 teaching learning materials(2 sets of pictures & photos, 4 moving pictures and 1 space plan resources book) were developed for the 15-session lessons. The plans applied to 5 classes 163 students in the second grade of G middle school in Gwangju during Oct. 17th to 18th of Nov. 2011. The results from the survey and portfolio showed that the 15-session lessons had overall achieved the general goal of the project teaching learning process plan to improve a creativity and character. Students were stimulated by individual and group activities with creativity and character elements in the class. The students evaluated the whole process of 15 lessons were interesting and helpful to improve creativity and consideration and cooperation of aspect of character. The individual and group results of the portfolio were excellently and creatively done with the average of nearly 85% points. The researcher also found the improving process of students in the whole classes. This plan might apply to other parts of housing as well as various other areas of home economics.

A Study on Learning Activities for Mathematics using Problem Posing Method through Brainwriting (Brainwriting 기법을 활용한 문제제기 수학학습 활동에 관한 연구)

  • This paper tries to analyze how effective the problem posing method through Brainwriting can be on mathematical problem solving and creativity as a way to seek a new pedagogy to enhance student problem solving levels and creativity in mathematics. The findings of the study can be summarized as follows: First, the Brainwriting problem posing method improved students' abilities to alter problems, suggest new problems from multi-perspectives, and solve them. All procedures for such were obtained through discussions among group members. Second, the Brainwriting problem posing method resulted in positive effects on fluency and originality among components of creativity, but not on flexibility. That is, studying mathematics with this method helped students develop creativity levels not in terms of flexibility but of fluency and originality. Third, the interest rate in mathematics learning rose for those who studied mathematics by adopting the Brainwriting problem posing method. Finally, this study caused the Brainwriting problem posing method to be more deeply understood and appreciated from a new perspective.

  • 제7차 교육과정의 기본방향인 '21세기의 세계화 정보화 시대를 주도할 자율적이고 창의적인 한국인 육성'에서 볼 수 있듯이, 새로운 교육과정에서는 학생들의 창의력을 신장시키기 위한 방안으로 교과별 교육과정이나 재량활동 운영 등을 제시한 바 있다. 수학교육에서도 이러한 시대적 흐름에 발맞추어 수학적 창의력의 신장이 강조되고 있는 상황이다. 그동안 이론적인 측면과 실제적인 측면에서 수학적 창의성에 대한 성과가 축적되었다. 이론적인 측면에서 볼 때, Haylock(1987)등에 의해 창의력과 수학적 창의력의 구분되었으며, 특히 '수학적' 창의력에 대한 다양한 정의가 제안되었다. 실제적인 측면에서도 수학적 창의력을 측정하려는 평가 도구들이 그 동안 여러 가지로 개발하였다. 그러나, 이러한 수학적 창의력에 관한 전반적인 연구는 종국적으로 교실 수학수업에 반영되어야 함에도 불구하고, 그리 만족스럽지 못한 상황이다. 특히, 교실에서 수학수업을 실제로 담당하는 교사들이 수학적 창의력을 위한 수업을 하고자 하더라도 당장 가까이에서 구할 수 있는 교수 학습 자료가 여전히 부족한 상황이다. 물론 그 동안 교실 수학수업에서 사용할 수 있는 창의력 개발 프로그램이 전무한 것은 아니다. 그런데 그들 대부분은 게임이나 퍼즐을 이용한 것으로 그 수준이 단순 흥미유발에 그치고 있거나 소수의 영재아를 위한 소재를 중심으로, 특히 수학적 사고 과정을 따르기보다는, 시행착오를 거쳐 원하는 결과를 얻을 가능성이 많으며, 수학과의 연계성이 불분명한 채로 단순놀이에 그치는 경우가 적지 않아, 수업과 연관되어 창의력의 신장이라는 측면에서 볼 때, 적용하기 어려운 사례가 많다. 이러한 상황을 개선하는 데 기여하고자, 현재 교과교육공동연구 지원사업의 하나로 한국 학술 진흥재단의 지원을 받아, '개방형 문제(open-ended problems)'를 중심 소재로 한 '수학적 창의성'을 신장하기 위한 교수학습 프로그램을 개발하여, 중학교 1학년을 대상으로 연구를 진행하고 있다. 개방형 문제라 함은 명백한 정의가 어렵지만 Pehkeon(1995)는 개방형문제의 정의를 명백히 하기위한 시도로서 그 반대로 닫힌 문제에 대한 정의로부터 시작하여, 어떤 문제가 닫혀있다고 하는 것은 그 문제의 출발 상황과 목표 상황이 닫혀 있는 것, 즉 명백히 설명되어있을 때라면 개방형 문제는 이와 반대의 개념임을 시사하였다. Silver(1995)는 개방형 문제를 문제 자체가 다른 해석이 가능하거나 서로 다를 인정할만한 답을 가질 수 있는 문제 또는 풀이과정이 다양한 문제, 자연스럽게 다른 문제들을 제안하거나 일반화를 제시할 수 있는 문제라고 정의하였다. 따라서 개방형 문제란 출발상황이나 목표 상황의 일부가 닫혀있지 않을 때를 말하고 문제의 조건을 만족하는 해답이 여러 가지로 존재하는 문제를 뜻한다. 수학적 창의력을 개발하는 데, 다른 문제 유형보다도, 개방형 문제가 유리하다는 점은 이미 여러 학자들에 의해 주장되어왔다. 미국 국립영재교육센터(NRCG/T)는 기존의 사지선다형이나 단답형 문제와 질문들은 학생들의 사고 능력에 관한 정보를 거의 알려주지 못하기 때문에 한 가지 이상의 답을 요구하는 ‘open-ended' 또는 ’open-response' 문제와 질문을 가지고 수학 분야에서의 창의적 사고 능력과 표현능력을 측정해야 한다고 하였고, 개방형 문제가 일반적으로 정답이 하나인 문제보다 고차원적인 사고를 요구하게 하는 문제 형태라고 하였다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 근거를 바탕으로 개방형 문제의 유형을 다양한 답이 존재하는 문제, 다양한 해결 전략이 가능한 문제, 답이 없는 문제, 문제 만들기, 일반화가 가능한 문제 등으로 보고, 수학적 창의성 중 특히 확산적 사고에 초점을 맞추어 개방형 문제가 확산적 사고의 요소인 유창성, 독창성, 유연성 등에 각각 어떤 영향을 미치는지 20주의 프로그램을 개발, 진행하여 그 효과를 검증하고자 한다. 개방형 문제를 활용한 수학적 창의력 신장 프로그램을 개발하고 현장 학교에 실험 적용하여 그 효과를 분석하고자 하는 본 연구는 창의력 신장에 비중을 두는 수학과 교수-학습 과정에 실제적인 교수 학습 자료를 제공하는 것뿐만 아니라 교사들에게는 수학교실에서 사용 가능한 실제적인 활용방안을, 학생들에게는 주어진 문제를 여러 가지 각도에서 생각하면서 다양한 사고를 경험하는 기회를 가질 수 있어, 수학을 보는 학생들의 태도에도 긍정적인 변화를 가져올 수 있을 것이라 기대한다.

  • After having changed its corporate brand from LG Fire & Marine Insurance to LIG Non-life Insurance in 2006, LIG Insurance has successfully built the corporate image as the leading insurance financial group by engaging in extensive corporate social responsibility activities. LIG, as 'a partner for sharing precious moments of life', intended to provide customers a new value of an insurance by building up the new corporate brand. It established three values to be shared internally. First was to instill a brand value orientation within the organization. Second, the firm identified the brand's value to be delivered to the customers. Third, they defined the image objective to be communicated to them. Based on these set of objectives, the company designed and implemented an integrated marketing communication(IMC) strategy over several years. The result was a successful transition to the new corporate brand name.

Epidemio-entomological survey on malarial vector mosquitoes in Kyongbuk, Korea (한국에 있어서의 말라리아 매개모기의 역학적, 매개동물학적 조사)

  • In order to determine population dynamics of Anopheles sinensis, a survey based on average number of female mosquitoes per trap-night was carried out during the period of 5 years from 1987 to 1991, A. sinensis Birst appeared between the 2nd and 20th April, and were trapped in large number between the 5th and 12th July. The number of trapped mosquitoes began to decrease from mid-August, and a few were collected until mid-November, each year. The average number of A. sinensis in July was 542.6 per trap-night in 1987, but in 1989 increased abruptly to 1,331.4, and then decreased to considerably lower levels, 271, 9 in 1990 and 372. 1 in 1991. The nocturnal activity of A. sinensis to attack humans was found to become active in the early night, and it was gradually decreasing at mid·night, however, then slightly increasing toward dawn. The immature stage of A. sinensis in the rice paddies was Birst found in the correlation pattern with peak adult densities in early July. The highest larval density of A. sinensis in the study area was 21,226×103 in early July 1990. The larval A. sinensis showed high resistance level and resistance ratios against 3 kinds of organo- phosphorous compounds, diazinon, malathion, and fenitrothion, but low resistance against fenthion. The present results indicated that the population density of A, sinensis in Kyongbuk area is decreasing over the five·year from 1987 to 1991. Comparison of Digital Filters with Wavelet Multiresolution Filter for Electrogastrogram (위전도 신호처리를 위한 웨이브렌 필터와 디지털 필터의 비교)

  • Electrogastrography(EGG) is a noninvasive method for measuring gastric electrical activity on the abdomen resulting from gastric muscle. EGG signals have a very low frequency range (0.0083 ~0.15 Hz) and extremely low amplitude(10~100 uV). Consequently, EGG signal is easily influenced by other noises. Both finite impulse response(FIR) and infinite impulse response (IIR) filters need high orders or have phase distortions for passing very narrow bandwidth of the EGG signal. In this study, we decomposed EGG signals using a wavelet multiresolution method with Daubechies mother wavelet. The EGG signals were decomposed to seven levels. We reconstructed signal by summing the decomposed signals from level four to seven. To evaluate the performance of the wavelet multiresolution filter(WMF) with simulated EGG signal using two kinds of FIR and four kinds of IIR filters., we used two indices; signal to noise ratio(SNR) and reconstruction squared error(RSE). The SNR of WMF had 9.5, 6.9, and 4.7 dB bigger than that of the other filters at different noise levels, respectively. Also, The RSE of WMF had $1.22{\times}10^6, 1.16{\times}10^6, 1.02{\times}10^6$ smaller than that of the other filters at different noise levels, respectively. The WMF performed better in the SNR and RSE than two kinds of FIR and four kinds of IIR filters.

In-depth Study on Performance Differences between Successful and Unsuccessful Sales Persons (영업성과가 우수한 사원과 낮은 사원의 성과차이에 대한 심층분석)

  • This study conducted in-depth interviews with 5 successful and 6 unsuccessful sales persons and analyzed their activities to further clarify the concepts of learning orientation, performance orientation, working smart, working hard and adaptive selling which have been reported as antecedents of sales persons' performances. We found that successful sales persons had their own distinctive characteristics. First, they regarded their selling activities as a part of their lives, not as a task, and were proud of themselves. Second, they perceived their weaknesses from most of activity areas, voluntarily participated in educational programs, and studied not only their products but also competitive products. Third, successful sales persons conducted customer-oriented activities. They collected data on their customers' personal records, developed customer typology by styles or personalities, and consulted their customers using those data. Fourth, successful sales people carefully prepared their meetings with customers across steps in selling processes and they did their best to develop long term relationship with their customers. These results provide useful implications about objective evaluations on sales persons' customer orientations and adaptive selling abilities, and also clarify the concepts of 'working smart' and 'adaptive selling'.

Home Economics teachers' concern on creativity and personality education in Home Economics classes: Based on the concerns based adoption model(CBAM) (가정과 교사의 창의.인성 교육에 대한 관심과 실행에 대한 인식 - CBAM 모형에 기초하여-)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the stage of concern, the level of use, and the innovation configuration of Home Economics teachers regarding creativity and personality education in Home Economics(HE) classes. The survey questionnaires were sent through mails and e-mails to middle-school HE teachers in the whole country selected by systematic sampling and convenience sampling. Questionnaires of the stages of concern and the levels of use developed by Hall(1987) were used in this study. 187 data were used for the final analysis by using SPSS/window(12.0) program. The results of the study were as following: First, for the stage of concerns of HE teachers on creativity and personality education, the information stage of concerns(85.51) was the one with the highest response rate and the next high in the following order: the management stage of concerns(81.88), the awareness stage of concerns(82.15), the refocusing stage of concerns(68.80), the collaboration stage of concerns(61.97), and the consequence stage of concerns(59.76). Second, the levels of use of HE teachers on creativity and personality education was highest with the mechanical levels(level 3; 21.4%) and the next high in the following order: the orientation levels of use(level 1; 20.9%), the refinement levels(level 5; 17.1%), the non-use levels(level 0; 15.0%), the preparation levels(level 2; 10.2%), the integration levels(level 6; 5.9%), the renewal levels(level 7; 4.8%), the routine levels(level 4; 4.8%). Third, for the innovation configuration of HE teachers on creativity and personality education, more than half of the HE teachers(56.1%) mainly focused on personality education in their HE classes; 31.0% of the HE teachers performed both creativity and personality education; a small number of teachers(6.4%) focused on creativity education; the same number of teachers(6.4%) responded that they do not focus on neither of the two. Examining the level and type of performance HE teachers applied, the average score on the performance of creativity and personality education was 3.76 out of 5.00 and the mean of creativity component was 3.59 and of personality component was 3.94, higher than standard. For the creativity education, openness/sensitivity(3.97) education was performed most and the next most in the following order: problem-solving skill(3.79), curiosity/interest(3.73), critical thinking(3.63), problem-finding skill(3.61), originality(3.57), analogy(3.47), fluency/adaptability(3.46), precision(3.46), imagination(3.37), and focus/sympathy(3.37). For the personality education, the following components were performed in order from most to least: power of execution(4.07), cooperation/consideration/just(4.06), self-management skill(4.04), civic consciousness(4.04), career development ability(4.03), environment adaptability(3.95), responsibility/ownership(3.94), decision making(3.89), trust/honesty/promise(3.88), autonomy(3.86), and global competency(3.55). Regarding what makes performing creativity and personality education difficult, most HE teachers(64.71%) chose the lack of instructional materials and 40.11% of participants chose the lack of seminar and workshop opportunity. 38.5% chose the difficulty of developing an evaluation criteria or an evaluation tool while 25.67% responded that they do not know any means of performing creativity and personality education. Regarding the better way to support for creativity and personality education, the HE teachers chose in order from most to least: 'expansion of hands-on activities for students related to education on creativity and personality'(4.34), 'development of HE classroom culture putting emphasis on creativity and personality'(4.29), 'a proper curriculum on creativity and personality education that goes along with students' developmental stages'(4.27), 'securing enough human resource and number of professors who will conduct creativity and personality education'(4.21), 'establishment of the concept and value of the education on creativity and personality'(4.09), and 'educational promotion on creativity and personality education supported by local communities and companies'(3.94).
