Development of Bridge Maintenance Method based on Life-Cycle Performance and Cost (생애주기 성능 및 비용에 기초한 교량 유지관리기법 개발)

  • In this paper, a new method for the bridge maintenance is proposed to overcome the limit of the existing methods and to implement the preventive bridge maintenance system. The proposed method can establish the lifetime optimum maintenance strategy of the deteriorating bridges considering the life-cycle performance as well as the life-cycle cost. The lifetime performance of the deteriorating bridges is evaluated by the safety index based on the structural reliability and the condition index detailing the condition state. The life-cycle cost is estimated by considering not only the direct maintenance cost but also the user and failure cost. The genetic algorithm is applied to generate a set of maintenance scenarios which is the multi-objective combinatorial optimization problem related to the life-cycle cost and performance. The study examined the proposed method by establishing a maintenance strategy for the existing bridge and its advantages. The result shows that the proposed method can be effectively applied to deciding the bridge maintenance strategy.

  • Crack in Pavements have been continually increased a by water penetration Therefore, the cracks can result in deterioration of the pavements that could be extremely dangerous fro road users. Creak sealing work performed in outdoor is very dangerous, costly and labor intensive. To slove these problems, automated crack sealing systems have been developed. it Would be needed that work information related to crack sealing must be gathered in an effort to used for existing or future crack sealing work. Furthermore, work information related to crack sealing could be utilized in analyzing work productivity and condition. The primary objective of this study is to propose a PDA and Web-based system for work information management of crack sealing which enables to effectively interchange work information between head office and fields, and to accurately collect work information. Finally, it is anticipated that the effective use of the developed PDA and web-based system would be able to effectively share work Information, measure productivity, estimate costs as well as plan future work schedule.

  • This study aims to investigate basic requirements for adopting the Building Information Modeling(BIM) technology to management of civil infrastructures. The state of the art on BIM guidelines developed major countries was investigated, and a common framework of the guideline contents was built in order to categorize the requirements. In addition, it was investigated that the point of view on the facility management in the BIM guidelines showed different from the traditional civil infrastructure domain. On the basis of the investigation results, this paper proposed the core requirements categorized into three respects: development of application models, standardization, modification of regulations.

  • 목포, 진도, 인천, 대산 및 여수권역에 설치된 해양기상신호표지시스템은 지속적이고 안정적인 데이터 확보와 데이터 Quality 유지가 중요하며 상시적인 현장점검 및 유지관리가 수반되어야 한다. 정기적이고 체계적인 유지관리를 통하여 주변 환경으로부터 장비를 보호하고 관측정보의 신뢰성을 높이고 장비 장애 및 오류를 사전에 방지할 수 있다. 관측자료의 효율적인 활용을 위하여 홈페이지, ARS/FAX, SMS 등의 서비스를 통합관리하고, 통합품질관리 기술개발 및 서비스 체계 표준화를 통하여 범국가적인 해양기상관측서비스 체계 구축이 필요하다.

  • 그동안 우리나라의 하천관리는 홍수피해 경감과 용수공급이라는 단순한 이 치수 위주로 관리해 왔다. 수자원개발사업이 본격적으로 시작된 1960년대 이후 상류 지역에 다목적댐들이 건설되었으며, 이러한 하천관리는 국토를 효율적으로 활용할 수 있게 함으로써 압축성장의 원동력이 되었다. 경제가 성장함에 따라 생활이 윤택해지고, 또한 환경의식이 향상됨에 따라 하천관리도 이제까지의 이 치수 위주에서 벗어나 하천 고유의 생태계 보존과 휴식 친수공간으로서의 중요성이 부각되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 하천의 친수성과 접근성을 제고할 수 있는 방안으로 유역 상류의 댐에서 하천유지용수를 공급하는 방안에 대해서 검토 분석하였다. 댐은 홍수시 하류지역의 홍수피해를 줄이는 역할 뿐만 아니라 하천환경이 악화되는 갈수기에 수질 개선용 물을 흘러 보내는 역할을 함으로써 수질을 개선하고 자연상태의 친수공간을 만들 수 있다. 오염되고, 건천화된 하천의 친환경적인 관리를 위해서는 상류 댐에서 하천유지용수를 최대한 확보하는 것이 가장 효율적인 방안으로 사료되며, 댐의 계획 운영 등에 대하여는 지속적인 연구가 있어야 할 것이다.

  • 최근 국내에서는 국소지역에서 단 시간 내 발생하는 돌발강우와 게릴라성 폭우와 같은 현상으로 붕괴위험지구 및 산사태 위험지역 등의 급경사지에서 재난 및 재해가 증가하는 있는 추세이다. 이와 같은 재난 및 재해의 증가는 우리나라의 지형 및 강우특성에 따라 지역적으로 다양한 양상으로 발생하고 있다. 급경사지의 지형 및 강우특성을 고려하고 재난 및 재해 발생을 최소화하기 위한 대책수립에 활용할 수 있는 데이터 유지 및 운영관리 방안이 필요한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 급경사지 관련 공간 및 속성정보를 합리적이고 과학적으로 관리할 수 있는 방법을 도출하기 위하여 데이터 생애주기적인 관점에서의 데이터 수집, 입력, 갱신, 수정 등의 유지관리 개념을 도입하여 연구를 수행하였고 그 결과로 급경사지 관련 유관기관에서 생산하는 공간정보와 속성정보를 정기적으로 수집하고 수정·편집하여 변환 및 전송할 수 있는 급경사지 데이터 유지관리 프레임워크 정의 및 운영 방안을 도출 하였다.

  • As many parts of Korea are mountainous, many tunnels have been constructed to be in step with rapid economic development since 1970's. However, the interest on maintenance of tunnels is far less than the awareness of need for tunnels. As the tunnel maintenance system is the responsive maintenance system which responds to the problems found during the inspection, it will be very difficult to respond to each problem with the limited budget and manpower of the government agencies when the number of aged tunnels rapidly increase in the future. As such, this study presents the need for the LCCA (Life Cycle Cost Analysis) based tunnel asset management system to transform the tunnel maintenance to a preventive management system in a strategic and long-term viewpoint and proposes the framework for development direction. It observed the asset management implementation cases of social infrastructure in other countries and analyzed the need for asset management technique to manage the tunnels in Korea. Moreover, it applied the LCCA model, which is the economic and engineering quantitative decision making technique, for tunnel asset management to present the concrete direction for development of an asset management model and designed the R&D framework to systemize it.

  • Recently, the construction industry has been changed more highly and complicacy. According to this, several informational systems of maintenance are introduced suitable the work and the purpose of each maintenance. However there are some problems in the manage the information of maintenance management by without the standization and systematic management of variable information from building life-cycle. This paper purposed the process of creation or management of information which is used for present maintenance through IFC-based facilities object library development is suggested for work efficiency of maintenance management. In addition, it can minimize the reproduce the same information unnecessarily. Fainally, it makes information compatibility through the building life-cycle highly by define the IFC-based object information and standardize the format of information.

  • Though the maintenance monitoring of structurally weak parts of the tunnel structure in public service must be judged in connection with the monitoring during the construction period for analysis of the behavior of the ground and surrounding structures following the tunnel excavation for the effective management, the monitoring during the construction period and the maintenance monitoring are implemented separately on the basis of the periods of construction and maintenance, so the connectivity and systematic management of the related data are mostly inadequate. The improvement direction is suggested in this thesis, by analyzing the problems of tunnel monitoring in the domestic design criteria. And, it is anticipated that from now on the use of hi-tech sensors and wireless communications technology will proceed vigorously in the maintenance, so considering these situations, the development and application of the maintenance monitoring system and the revision of the domestic design criteria and specification are needed in the future.

  • The restructuring of Korean railway industry, separation of between train operators and an infrastructure manager, had been conducted in 2004 to increase the productivities of railway operations. However, the maintenance-staffs are still employed by Korail (train operator), not by the infrastructure manager, which led the maintenance of railway infrastructure to be conducted by the train operator. The infrastructure manager is now only taking care of financial transferring issues once the train operator requests expenses spent for facility maintenance. Such incomplete restructure may result in a lack of safety performance on railway operations as the roles and responsibilities are less likely to be assigned under the multiple train operators. Thus, this study proposes the way of structuring maintenance divisions and their roles and responsibilities to assure the safe work execution under the circumstance of multiple train operators on the same rail network.
