  • Local freight forwarder's circle is suffering worsening profitability and insecure employment from over-competition which caused by a saturated local logistics market. It is emerging UN procurement market for local freight forwarders. However it is needed to study on successful entry, market status and supporting measures from government and research institute. Currently there are no national research data of UN procurement market in logistics sectors but as per the writer's experience and viewpoint to UN bidding, it would seem that appropriate measures should be made such as government's enhanced support for overseas advancement, price competitiveness, building global network and development of education program for trainees associated with current overseas internship program by government.

  • 최근 유엔의 아시아지역과 개도국 공급선 확대 추세는 국내 물류 기업의 유엔 진출에는 희소식이나, 국내에는 연구 자료가 없으므로 국내물류 업체가 단독으로 해외의 선진 글로벌 물류 업체와 경쟁하여 성공적으로 시장에 진출하기는 쉽지 않다. 잠재 가능성이 높은 유엔조달 물류 시장에 대한 사전 연구와 적합한 분석을 통하여 진출 전략을 수립하고자 한다.

  • Local freight forwarders circles is suffering financially and insecure employment from over competition which caused by a saturated local logistics market.   • Domestic large group logistics company(2nd-party logistics company)has made inroads on large portion of domestic logistics market, whereby the domestic 3rd-party logistics market has been shrinking every year to a level of 30% or so. Global logistics enterprise is steadily increasing 3rd-party global market portion while Local one facing with stagnating growth has very minimal level in the global market share. Fortunately new government strengthening policy change toward local SME and also recent UN's supplying line enlargement to Asia regions are positive factors which make Local SME very positive environments to advance to UN procurement logistics market. On this occasion, the purpose of this paper is to help local logistics company perform successful bidding through study of UN-transportation case and also suggest in SWOT analysis a segmented measure and support policy between Industry, Academia, Government and Institute.

  • Amid the rapidly changing logistics environment and demand changes in the post-corona-19 era, the importance of the cold chain logistics sector is being highlighted. The scope of cold chain is not limited to food, but is expanding to various fields such as pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, and flowers. The demand on the storage and transportation of corona vaccines is rapidly increasing. The rapid increase in domestic low-temperature facility construction and renovation may lead to the saturation of the cold chain related industry in the future and slow growth. In preparation for this, it is necessary to accumulate infrastructure know-how using IT technologies, and to consider entering into the UN procurement market as a potential niche market, by taking advantage of Korea's recent global status. The demand for cold chain in the UN procurement market is increasing mainly in underdeveloped countries, and it is expected to continue to grow. In this paper, the capabilities of domestic cold chain related companies were analyzed, domestic and overseas cold chain logistics market trends and overseas market entry status were investigated. An in-depth survey was conducted to present strategies for domestic cold chain logistics related companies to enter the UN procurement market.

A Study on Attracting the United Nations Humanitarian Response Depot(UNHRD) (유엔 인도적 지원 물류센터 유치방안에 관한 연구)

  • Disasters and crises are spreading across the globe, and there has been an increase in the number disasters in northeast Asia, such as earthquakes in Sichuan, China, and East Japan. This study aims to propose a plan to attract facilities from the United Nations Humanitarian Response Depot (UNHRD). Although there are no prior domestic studies, the study focuses on the role of intangible benefits, values, and economic outcomes in attracting facilities. Based on an analysis of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) of Korea's host environment, using the UN's annual report and Korea's overseas emergency relief data, the study will analyze the status of relevant UN organizations and derive detailed strategies. In order to attract facilities from the UNHRD, it will be necessary to build and promote a cooperative system with domestic and foreign NGO experts in humanitarian assistance and joint proposals from government departments and local governments. In the long-run, it will be necessary to work closely with the relevant UN agencies to achieve strategic progress.

  • While major alliance container carriers in the post-corona era are enjoying the largest boom in history with their fleet reduction strategy, shippers companies are in a state of deteriorating import and export price competitiveness due to increased logistics costs, and forwarders who act for shipping companies' logistics services are also experiencing the burden of rising freight rates It is in a state of overheated competition and worsening profits for attracting shippers. For this purpose, research data, literature studies, statistical data and data from overseas specialized networks were used as prior research. Online surveys and telephone interviews were conducted, and as a result, four areas of cold chain (including perishable cargo), project logistics, UN procurement logistics, and dangerous goods logistics, which were found to be particularly in high demand, were analyzed to suggest entry strategies.

  • Automobile industry is facing a variety of risks, including the rise of international oil price and the increase of car prices. In addition to the government's deregulation, efforts should be made to improve management aiming at higher production efficiency. In this study, we established a model for evaluating the procurement logistics based on the Fuzzy-AHP-TOPSIS by using the factors that are actually used in real companies aimed at the improvement of procurement logistics. A total of three automobile factories of Company G were chosen as the evaluation subject. In the result of the Fuzzy-AHP analysis that was conducted on a sample of three car factories, solving the long-term quality problems, minimizing the stop time due to the shortage of materials, preventing the of equipment accident, and solving the short-term quality problems were proven to be the most important factors. TOPSIS analysis result indicated that Factory B had the best procurement logistics. Our study has significance that it can contribute to the improvement of efficiency in the automobile industry as the evaluation model suggested in this study can be used for regular evaluation related to the procurement logistics in the future.

A Study on the Influence of Securities on Corporate Financing Behavior in Financial Markets (금융시장에서 담보가 기업의 자금조달선택에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • This paper suggested a theoretical model, in which a security-based(secured loan, non-secured loan) credit agreement determines the form of corporate cost function through a loaning company's cost minimization in the light of a company which behaves monopolistically in product markets. Also, this paper analyzed the influence of a corporate credit agreement on market equilibrium, and economic welfare in product markets. As a result, it was found that in case a company, whose equity capital is small, implements borrowing based on a secured loan from a financial institution, the company comes to face borrowing restraints, in which the company has no choice but to get a loan within the scope of securities. When a company offers its capital goods, i.e. a production factor, as a security, there occurs a distortion to the production factor input ratio. Meanwhile, when a company comes to get a loan based on an unsecured loan, for which the interest rate is high, marginal cost rises; accordingly, the company comes to choose a credit agreement aiming at maximizing its profits. However, a company's choice of a credit agreement is not quite desirable from a consumer's viewpoint, and from the whole economic point of view; overall, such a choice is likely to aggravate economic welfare.
