  • The purpose of this study is to figure out the application of perceived quality and authentication evaluation system of teaching materials and implements for children in the early childhood education field. To achieve this, a survey was carried out from April 20 to April 30, 2013 on 150 guidance teachers who teach children classes for more than 3 years at kindergartens in Daejeon area, Chungnam. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, for the use of teaching materials and implements, 96.1% of teachers thought the quality of teaching materials and implements in their interaction with children was important. Most of them had a high perception of the quantity and quality when using teaching materials and implements with early childhood curriculum. For the most inconvenience when using teaching implements, developmental appropriateness was the highest by 47.3%. And the convenience of the application to children was 3.54 points on average. Above this, the application of teaching implements to children when using play and teaching implements was useful by 3.89 points on verage. The current teaching materials and implements for children in the early childhood education field was normal by 3.29 points on average. Second, teachers' perception of teaching materials and implements was relatively positive by 3.99 points on average, proving that the quality of teaching materials and implements based on the application of teaching materials and implements to early children in kindergartens was very important. Consequently, considering the importance and usefulness of teaching materials and implements, it is necessary to introduce institutional policies that teaching materials and implements with quality standard and institution evaluation can introduce the evaluation authentication system to guarantee the convenience of children' safety and use by the supply of quality-guaranteed products.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship among beginning early childhood teachers' stress coping strategies, role performance, and self leadership. The subjects in this study were 491 beginning early childhood teachers working in kindergarten and child care centers across the country. Stress coping strategies questionnaire(Chang-Soon Park, 2005) and role performance questionnaire(Bog-Mae Park, 2011), and self-leadership questionnaire(Dong-Hyen Park,2014) were used for this study. For the research analysis, frequency, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ coefficient, and Pearson's correlation were calculated and regression analysis were conducted. The results are as follows. Firstly, it was revealed that passive stress coping strategies does not have statistically meaningful influences on role performance, but active stress coping strategies have statistically meaningful positive influences on role performance. Also, 491 beginning early childhood teachers' active stress coping strategies have statistically meaningful positive influences on role performance through the mediation of self leadership. That is, the results explain that the higher the self-leadership of beginning early childhood teachers is, the higher the role performance that they have experienced is. It shows that beginning early childhood teachers'self leadership mediates partially between active stress coping strategies and role performance. Through this study, it is possible to provide basic information to configure the subject content that enhance their self-leadership and develop active stress coping attitudes in a curriculum for beginning early childhood teachers.

  • This study aimed at exploring how an instructor constructs meanings through content-based instruction (CBI) offered to pre-service teachers majoring in early childhood education. The course, early childhood mathematics education, was conducted during the spring semester in 2011. This study adopted a narrative inquiry, and data were collected through observations, interviews, and work samples. This study found that during the whole process from the preparation phase to the end-of-program evaluation, the instructor captured diverse challenging moments. During the preparation phase, she needed to have careful orchestration in designing lessons in order to overcome her feeling of pressure as a non-native speaker of English and design the integration of contents and English language learning to be truly powerful. In the phase of implementation, the lack of student motivation and building a good rapport between the instructor and the students were certainly challenges. The result of the student evaluations weakened her desire to implement CBI. The instructor incorporated diverse instructional strategies to overcome the obstacles. The instructor's experiences in this study will positively shape future educators' thinking and learning about meaningful and appropriate academic English instruction for content-area teaching of college students who were majoring in early childhood education.

  • The purpose of this study is to construct factors of AI education utilization competency. AI education utilization competency is used as basic data for education to enhance the AI education competency of pre-service early childhood teachers. To this end, 7 studies related to competency factors and models were selected by searching for previous studies. Seven preceding studies were analyzed. As a result, 18 competency factors were extracted, including understanding of artificial intelligence. The extracted competency elements were divided into six areas, which are divided into understanding subject knowledge through coding, class preparation, class management, class result feedback, class guidance, and self-development. And 15 factors were constructed. The draft formed through coding was improved through review by three early childhood education experts. Factors improved through expert review were structured by classifying them into knowledge, skills, and attitudes to organize the curriculum. The validity of the structured competency factor was verified through expert Delphi. As a result of the Delphi verification, all factors were converged in the first survey. Through this, 6 competency areas, 11 competency factors, and 19 competency factors were composed of knowledge, 10 skills, and 5 attitudes. The implication is that the competency factors presented as a result of this study can be used as basic data for organizing a curriculum to improve the ability of pre-service early childhood teachers to use artificial intelligence education.

  • The purpose of this study is to present a plan to design and utilize effectively useful software program in dealing with Teaching Materials and Tools Management in all infant education institute. This program is called Teaching Materials and Tools Management and it is based on the national kindergarten Curriculum notified by ministry of education. To achieve this goal, all teaching materials should be kept to classify and use easily regardless of their shape, kind, and maker(manufacturer). Teaching materials and tools once used in class should be kept after being repaired, And if it is difficult to repair them, write down detail information about them for any teacher to repair them easily. Teaching materials and tools should classified efficiently after being used and registered to recognize their information at first glance. Teaching materials and tools should be registered with an index to manage curriculum effectively when establishing a year plan.

  • Science and technology have led the development of mankind, but have created problems such as natural depletion, climate change, economic inequality and poverty. The purpose of this study is to explore the meaning of early childhood science for sustainable development to solve these problems and to contribute to the harmony of nature and human beings. In order to accomplish this research objectives, 18 experts and 15 teachers were interviewed on the meaning of sustainable development and the directions of early childhood science education for sustainable development. Early childhood science education for sustainable development was categorized as follows. 'Mutual respect between child-teacher-organism', 'developing individual inquiry-based on community consciousness', 'looking at the world with child's eyes', 'deepening and expanding on topics of interest', 'continuous inquiry and commitment', 'conversation and sharing-centered exploration'. By these results, it was concluded that early childhood science education for sustainable development should start from the perspective of children, and was a meaningful process in which children constantly learn about the nature surrounding themselves based on mutual respect.
