Ubiquitous Virtual Reality Framework and Its Application for Fostering Sustainable Content Ecosystem (지속 가능한 콘텐츠 생태계 조성을 위한 유비쿼터스 가상현실 프레임워크 및 응용)

  • In this paper we propose ubiquitous virtual reality framework and its application for fostering a sustainable content ecosystem in the convergence space of virtual reality and real space. The ubiquitous virtual reality framework supports fundamental infrastructure which consists of platforms for end-users and service providers and dual space management. The platform for the service provider allows experts to generate contents related to real objects while the platform for the end-users allows to consume, share and regenerate the contents contextually augmented over real objects. The dual space management stores, visualizes and provides the contents generated and extended by them for connecting different users and service providers. The proposed framework allows users to continuously generate, share and extend the contents and thus contribute to making multimedia service environment. We also implemented and evaluated the framework consisting of a desktop authoring platform, mobile authoring platform and a dual space management server. We then introduced a promising application scenario to show how the content ecosystem is empowered by ubiquitous virtual reality framework and is realized in our life. Consequently, we are expecting that the ubiquitous virtual reality technology will play a vital role in building continuously evolving multimedia service environment for the future computing environment.

  • At the present, all resources on ubiquitous are smart and networking. it deduces the environment that any service could be provided without any restriction of time and space and maximizes life quality and creation of people and industry productivity. especially, it converses and integrates all fields in the city based on Ubiquitous computing, IT. Furthermore, the study on the technology concerned with Ubiquitous is actively conducted. In this paper, we would like to look onto the types of necessary system and technology when the Ubiquitous system is applied to buildings. Besides, as analyzing necessity and expecting effect of ubiquitous system, we suggest the method to establish ubiquitous system in multi-complex buildings.

  • Recently, context-awareness computing becomes prerequisite to pervasive computing, called ubiquitous paradigm. Especially, it plays much of roll as a part of the ubiquitous infrastructures, one of three ubiquitous city components. This paper proposes the optimized procedures to deal with the various hypothetical water-leaking situations in the water supply systems. These procedures suggested in this paper will be employed to develop the context-awareness modules or models for urban infrastructure maintenance in the future works.

  • Contemporary workspace is configured in various manners according to working patterns, collaborative or independent nature of works, group-wise working styles and culture, the size of the group, and so on. On the other hand, conventional office space has tended to be a monolithic single space packed with various types of works. This change reflects what has happened to the meanings and structures of office space. The ubiquitous computing technique is being applied to the development of the intelligent office as it grows. This leads to the change of intelligent office technology which provides user-oriented spatial service. This paper focuses on the conceptualization and design of service scenarios or the intelligent office based on the user-oriented spatial service paradigm.

  • 지능형 서비스 로봇 분야의 발전은 최근 들어 빠른 속도로 급성장하고 있으며 다양한 환경에서 상황인지를 수행하고, 지능로봇으로서의 역할을 수행 할 수 있는 로봇 개발 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 MSRDS를 활용한 3차원(3D) 가상공간에서 다중센서융합(MSF) 지능로봇을 시뮬레이션 할 수 있는 환경과 개발 방법을 제안한다. 또한 시뮬레이션 환경에서 다중센서융합을 적용한 지능로봇 개발방법을 연구하고 실험한다. 본 연구에 목적은 다양한 실제 환경에 로봇이 지능적으로 대처할 수 있도록 다중센서를 융합하고 시뮬레이션 로봇에 적용하여 지능로봇을 개발 할 수 있는 3 차원 시뮬레이션 시스템 환경을 개발하는 것이다. 유비쿼터스 시대에 가상공간이 아닌 현실세계에 적응할 수 있는 실제 지능로봇 개발에 큰 도움이 될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

  • Ubiquitous computing technology makes an impact on the appearance of u-learning and presents an advanced direction of futuristic school education. In ubiquitous learning environments, various embedded computational devices will be pervasive and interoperable across the network for supporting the learning, so users may utilize these devices anytime anywhere. An important next step for ubiquitous learning is the introduction of context-aware learning service that employing knowledge and reasoning to understand the local context and share this information in support of intelligent learning services. However, the existing studies on design and application of ontology context model to support context-aware service in actual school environments are incomplete state. This paper, therefore, suggests a scheme of constructing ubiquitous learning space for existing school network by introducing USN to support context-aware ubiquitous learning services. This paper, also, designs an ontology based context model for ubiquitous school environments which describes context information through OWL. To determine the suitability of proposed ubiquitous learning space and ontology context model, we implement some of context-aware learning services in the ubiquitous learning environments.

  • 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서 상황을 인지해 각 사용자에게 필요한 서비스를 자동으로 제공하거나, 사용자로부터 요청받은 서비스를 주어진 환경에서 성공적으로 수행하기 위해서는 그 서비스를 수행하는 각각의 장치들은 일정 수준 이상의 지능을 갖고 있어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 일차 술어 논리를 사용하는 규칙 기반 추론 엔진으로 JRM-S를 개발하였다. 본 엔진은 위치 기반 상황 모델 구축을 위해 공간지식 처리 기능을 갖고 있으며, 유비쿼터스 환경에 존재하는 서비스 장치들에게 상황을 인식할 수 있는 지능을 부여하기 위한 지식 처리기로 사용될 수 있다.

  • 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 기술(uT)의 적용에 대한 논의가 상대적으로 저조한 재래시장에 uT를 적용하여 쇼핑객의 쇼핑편의와 온/오프라인 쇼핑경험을 촉진할 수 있는 u-Market을 구현한다면, 재래시장을 방문하는 쇼핑객(유동인구)을 중대시킬 수 있으며,이는 매출증대로 이어져 재래시장 활성화에 일조할 것이다. u-Market 아키텍처는 쇼핑 전 모듈과 쇼핑 중 모듈로 구성된다. 단, 설계 시에는 재래시장의 공간적 제약과 기반시설의 낙후로 인해 적용 가능한 uT의 제약이 따르므로 이를 고려하여 KIOSK, 3G Dongle, 개인 휴대단말기를 기반으로 한 u-Market 시스템의 아키텍처를 설계하였다. u-Market 시스템 아키텍처는 개발 초기 단계에서의 개발자 간의 의사소통 문제를 줄이고, 재 작업에 따른 비용을 절감할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 높은 품질의 시스템을 효과적으로 개발할 수 있는 기반을 제공할 것이다.

  • Ubiquitous Computing is an agriculture revolution, the Industrial Revolution, the fourth revolution to equal an information revolution are Ubiquitous Computing. Historic agriculture was revolutionary, but the Industrial Revolution was a revolution of the physics space that was a base of a mankind civilization, and the information revolution that Cyber Space saw a prime while world wide web service was expanded was a revolution of cyber space. Be charmed with this, and, as for the Ubiquitous Computing revolution, it is achieved a physics space and an intelligent union of cyber space in the space where an off-line space was integrated with compunction on-line. It is combined with a life space naturally, and Ubiquitous creates a new integrated space. The space is the opportunity space that is limitless as soon as it is the unknown world that mankind was not able to experience yet. This paper checks the present situation of currently proceeding Ubiquitous computing technology(RFID, CCTV) in augmented reality environment. Also, The main purpose of this paper is to analyze the concepts analysis of privacy, personal information, and electronic surveillance in augmented reality environment. Thus this paper treated the analysis of case, technological issue, problem and solution and so on.

  • The GIS has grown in its quantity as local authorities established the urban information system for better city administration, civilian services and decision-making support services. Recently, local authorities have expressed much interest on the introduction of ubiquitous technology to improve citizens' safety and convenience. This has become the drive behind the construction of ubiquitous city(u-City). Construction of a u-City requires the multitude of information and telecommunication networks and digital contents; the existing information resources need to be put to use in entirety for that end. In that regard, the integration of GIS established and currently operated by local authorities needs to be strategically promoted. This study intends to propose GIS integration strategies in various aspects for the future u-City and directions for the development of urban information systems in the coming of the Ubiquitous Age.
