Design and Implementation of adaptive traffic signal simulator system for U-Traffic (U-Traffic의 적응형 교통 신호 시뮬레이터 구축에 대한 연구)

  • In Busan, the structural limitations of the road, is causing severe traffic congestion and low speed of the vehicle. So the existing traffic control system needs improvements to its structure. A study on Optimal Traffic Signal System and Improvement for User Oriented Public Transit Service are required. U-city is a city or region with ubiquitous information technology. All information systems are linked, and virtually everything is linked to an information technologies. U-Traffic goal is to maximize of traffic information services based on advanced information technology to integrate of transportation infrastructure. The objectives of this research are : a vehicle detection method through a variety of sensors, an algorithm of the traffic signal system, a design and implementation a simulator to compare between the fixed traffic signal and adaptive traffic signal system. This simulator will have allowed analysis techniques for the study of traffic control. Results of simulator test shows that traffic congestion can be some reduce.

A WPAN Protocol for N-Screen Services in Indoor and Ship Area Networks (선박 및 실내 N-스크린 서비스를 위한 WPAN 프로토콜)

  • A wireless bridge is essential to transmit control and managing information to sensors or instruments from a central integrated ship area network station. In this paper, a WPAN protocol is adopted for development of a seamless N-screen wireless service in Indoor and Ship Area Networks. Furthermore, to provide the OSMU (One Source Multi Use) N-screen service through P2P streaming in the seamless WPAN protocol, a Grid-based WPAN networking technology is proposed and analyzed. The proposed Grid-based WPAN networking technology supports multi-path and fast path-setup functions for N-screen communications. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed Grid-based WPAN networking technology outperforms the IEEE 802.15.4 based network in terms of N-screen transmission delay.

  • Recently, high-speed internet subscribers have grown continuously, and reached up to 10 millions. But existing network management that is responsible only for user access is confronted with many difficulties, since user access network(xDSL, Cable, B-WILL, and so on) has diversified and value added wired/wireless contents service has developed. In this paper propose the Agent based Inter Networking platform as object-oriented hierarchical system that can provide various service such as access QoS(Quality of Service), customized application service and security service according to user on demand. This system has divided into two parts(user agent and agent management system & local and central management systems). Management system periodically receive status information such as bandwidth, download speed, delay, current service, and so on, and process them, then build a policy based on processed information. According to personal user profile that is generated by this policy, the customized service can be provided for users. And This system adopt the object-oriented modeling in case that system migration and integration, and implement a system that is robust and stable for security through hierarchical server system.

  • TCP SACK is the unique mechanism to reflect the situation of sink's sequence space, some TCP variants and proposals can perform in conjunction with SACK mechanism for achieving optimal performance. By definition of RFC 2018, however, each contiguous block of data queued at the data receiver is defined in the SACK option by two 32-bit unsigned integers in network byte order. Since TCP Options field has a 40-byte maximum length, when error bursts now, we note that the available option space may not be sufficient to report all blocks present in the receiver's queue and lead to unnecessarily force the TCP sender to retransmit Packets that have actually been received by TCP sink. For overcoming this restriction, in this thesis, a new solution named 'one-byte offset based SACK mechanism' is designed to further improve the performance or TCP SACK and prevent those unwanted retransmissions. The results or both theory analysis and simulation also show that his proposed scheme operates simply and more effectively than the other existing schemes by means of the least bytes and most robust mechanism to the high packet error rates often seen in networks environment.

  • u-러닝(u-learning) 체제의 도입은, 다양한 형태의 원격교육을 지원하기 위한 교수-학습 시스템 및 모형을 요구하며, 이에 따라 유무선 인터넷을 이용한 u-러닝 시스템이 지속적으로 개발 적용되어 왔다. 하지만, 현재 운영되고 있는 대부분의 원격교육시스템은 교수자와 학습자간의 지속적인 쌍방향 상호작용 유지의 어려움, 시스템 구축을 위한 경제적 부담, 시스템 운영에 투입되는 교수자의 기술적 소양 부족 등의 문제점을 안고 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해서는 다음 항목에 대한 제고가 필요하다. 첫째, 효율적인 쌍방향 상호작용은 학습자 행동에 대한 지속적인 모니터링 및 피드백, 그리고 교수자의 상시 접속 상태 유지를 전제로 한다. 이는 사이버 교사(cyber tutor)를 이용하는 지능형 학습에 대한 논의로 이어진다. 둘째, 구현될 시스템은 경제성과 재사용성 측면이 고려되어야 하며, 이는 기존의 학교 현장의 인프라를 활용하는 u-러닝 개념의 학습 환경, 즉 이동성 네트워크 구조에 대한 설계가 요구된다. 셋째, 시스템의 직접적인 운영 주체인 일선 교사들의 기술적 소양을 고려할 때, 시스템 구축 및 사용상의 편리성, 학습 진행을 위한 보조적 지원 장치 등이 충분히 전제되어야 한다. 이에 본 연구에서는, 이동성과 내재성의 u-러닝 개념을 포함하고, 지능형 가상 교수자(cyber tutor)에 의한 블랜디드 학습(blended learning)을 도입하며, 사용자의 기술적, 경제적 부담의 제거가 가능한 지능형 u-러닝시스템을 개발하였다. 본 연구에 의해 개발된 시스템은 기존의 네트워크 인프라와 u-러닝의 개념을 통합하는 네트워크 구조, 원격학습을 지원하는 네트워크 화이트보드, 학습 과정의 저장과 해석을 지원하는 스크립트 인터프리터, 학습자 반응에 대한 피드백을 자동 제공할 수 있는 지능형 인터프리터로 구성되었다.

  • Social networking services which spreading rapidly is a system using interrelationship of people by internet or mobile. SNS is a network system of the human-centered. In this paper, in order to make robot become a member of social networks we studied the necessary elements and formation. For robot with communication function and sensing, autonomous, collision avoidance method and communication protocol is needed to let Robot share the present conditions dangerous or special situation. We realized this after investigating necessary sensor for SNS, studying robot's collision-avoidance method, and defining protocol of robot for SNS. Also, we suggested and implemented the wired and wireless integrated communications method.

An Enhanced Wireless TCP protocol based on Explicit Error Notification (에러 보고를 통한 무선 TCP의 성능 향상)

  • When a packet loss occurs in a communication network operating a TCP protocol, the TCP protocol regards it that the loss has resulted from network congestion. Then the TCP protocol performs congestion control. When it is applied to the wireless network having quite a high BER characteristics, the performance of TCP protocol is degraded very much. In this paper, we propose an Explicit Error Notification(EEN) algorithm to improve the performance of the wireless TCP When a packet loss occurs in the wireless network, the TCP receiver decodes the TCP segment sequence number and the address of the TCP sender and receiver, and then informs the TCP sender of the error in wireless network by sending a NACK. It is to distinguish packets in error from losses of network congestion. In this paper, the performance of the proposed EEN algorithm is analyzed and simulated. In fact, as more errors are corrected, the proposed algorithm shows a larger improvements in performance.

  • The DIAMETER protocol provides Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA) transactions across the Internet. SIP(Session Initiation Protocol) will be used for new types of signaling, such as instant messaging and application level mobility across networks. And SIP will be a major signaling protocol for next generation wireless networks. But the Digest authentication scheme is not using a secure method of user authentication in SIP, and it is vulnerable to man-in-the-middle attacks or dictionary attacks. This study focused on designing a SIP proxy for interworking with AAA server with respect to user authentication and security analysis. We compared and analyzed the security aspects of the scenarios and propose two proposals that a response which include the user address and password-based mutual authentication and key agreement protocol. It is claimed to be more secure against common attacks than current scenarios.

  • A wireless bridge is essential to transmit control and managing information to sensors or instruments from a central integrated ship area network station. In this paper, a WiMedia Distributed-MAC(D-MAC) protocol is adopted for development of a seamless N-Screen wireless service in Indoor and Ship Area Networks. Furthermore, to provide the OSMU(One Source Multi Use) N-screen service through P2P streaming in the seamless D-MAC protocol, a Dynamic Threshold-based Multicast(DTM) technology is proposed and analyzed. For this technology, a new Hard/Soft Vertical Region(HVR-SVR) based time slot allocation and a multicast resource reservation scheme are combined. From simulation results, proposed DTM scheme expands the number of time slots available for unicast and multicast realtime N-Screen reservations with various service time interval requests. Furthermore, it enhances performances in vewpoints of realtime N-Screen data reservation conflict and throughput.
