This study aims to investigate how tie strength in business networks affects successful knowledge sharing, as well as the impact of environmental uncertainty on the relationship between knowledge sharing and tie strength. We gathered data through a questionnaire-based survey of 310 employees affiliated with a high-technology industry in Korea. The results highlighted the positive influence of strong ties on tacit knowledge sharing and weak ties on explicit knowledge sharing. Additionally, in this study, we determine that strong ties are strengthened to share tacit knowledge with exchange parties when environmental uncertainty is high, whereas weak ties may remain unaffected by environmental uncertainty. This study contributes to the literature on tie strength and knowledge sharing by applying social capital theory to a high-technology industry. The findings suggest that firms must take advantage of strong and weak ties to facilitate knowledge sharing to enhance competency, create novel knowledge, and obtain a competitive advantage.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of social anonymity on community quality and find out mediating factors that affect the relationship between social anonymity and community quality in online community sites. This study focuses on the factors such as self expression, self control, and community ties to investigate their mediating roles on the relationship between social anonymity and community quality. Also, discussion quality and information quality are used to measure online community quality. The results of this study show that social anonymity is directly related to discussion quality but not related to information quality. As for the mediating effects, self expression, self control and community ties are all shown to have strong mediating effects on the social anonymity and community quality relationship.

Social media is a general term for online services by which users share opinions, perspectives, and experiences. It supports interactions between users in sharing contents on it and weak ties among them play an important role in the process. This exploratory study attempts to identify crucial factors of establishing weak ties between social media users in the perspective of social network theory and uncertainty reduction theory. We collected data through diary study and in-depth interview and analyzed it following grounded theory approach. As a result, social media users more actively interacted each other or shared contents based on weak ties, compared to strong ties. In addition, similarity, self-disclosure, and relevance appeared to facilitate establishment of weak ties, by reducing psychological distance between social media users and perceived uncertainty of them.

This study investigates the predictors of the relationship quality between grandparents and grandchildren in emerging adulthood. Participants were 501 grandchildren with at least one living maternal/paternal grandparents. According to the t-test, the frequency of contact with maternal grandparents, the similarity of value to paternal grandparents, and the affective solidarity with paternal grandparents were significantly different depending on the grandchildren's sex. Results of multiple regression analyses indicated that the relationships of father-grandparents and mother-grandparents, the frequency of contact, and the similarities of value significantly predicted the affective solidarity between grandparents and grandchildren. However, the relative predictive power of these variables was different by the lineage and the grandchildren's sex.

This study is targeted at users of social networks to investigate motives, motives based on information exchange, network density, and reliability of information, recognizing network. Result motivation is a social network analysis of information-seeking motivation, social influence motivation, entertainment motivation, motivation network formation, respectively. Network density is also information seeking motivations, social influence motivation, entertainment showed differences in motivation, information about the reliability of the difference between the difference was in all the motivational factors.

The purpose of this study was to explore the continuing bonds experienced by adolescent victims' 15 parents of the Sewol ferry disaster. The research aim is to classify the continuing bonds into representational, functional, emotional, and relationship characteristics through contents analysis and identify them. The way dimension was found to be continuing bond through "physical objects and space," "dream and spiritual exchange," "personal memorial and ritual activities," "thoughts of deceased children," and "surviving children." In the "functional dimension," it was found that sustainable ties help families find new meanings and purposes in their lives and comfort them by making them feel they are with their children. In addition, at the emotional level, they experienced 'positive emotions' while feeling with their children, and experienced 'pain', and some research participants found it difficult to sustain the bond itself. At the level of each relationship characteristic, the relationship between parents and children was an extension of the relationship even after the child was deceased, and the relationship characteristics were reproduced. The implications for grief counseling were presented by applying a dead two-axis model to the results of this study.

This paper aims at investigating voluntary user participation such as user citizenship behavior and aberrant user behavior in the SNS context. Also it examines on how user participation behavior affects social connectedness, privacy concern, and user satisfaction. The empirical assessment of the research model was conducted using a total of 143 responses. The findings show that user citizenship behavior impacts on social connectedness positively and significantly whereas aberrant user behavior does not influence on social connectedness. Aberrant user behavior is proven not to be related to social connectedness, and to has positive relationship with concern for privacy invasion. Also, the results show that privacy concern is not associated with social connectedness. Finally, social connectedness is shown to be a key determinant of SNS user satisfaction whereas privacy concern is not related to user satisfaction.

The purpose of this study is to develop the basic scales of festival quality. We conducted a content analysis in the discourse of KINDS(Korea Integrated News Database System) and derived five constituent factors, basic quality measures of local festivals through the extensive literature review. We named these qualities "Festival BASICQUAL" that is consist of Infrastructure, Connectedness, Passion, Theme, Culture. We conducted the empirical analysis for the participants in "Geumsan Insam Festival" to verify the "Festival BASICQUAL" As the result, Infrastructure, Connectedness, Culture affected positively on Festival Attachment among all BASICQUALs. However, Passion and Theme did not positively affected on the dependent variable. And then, Festival Attachment positively affected on Festival Satisfaction, while Festival Satisfaction also affected positively on Behavior Intention. This study developed the basic quality concerned with local festivals which is crucial fundamentals to quantify Festival BASICQUAL through empirical study. The proper applications and usage of these newly introduced local festival qualities enable to acquire the sustainable competitive advantage in local festival.
