  • This study aims to analyze the changes in public perception of abandoned dogs through big data analysis. Data from January 2017 to July 2020 were collected to analyze how the quantitative change in social issues with abandoned dogs as a keyword had an effect on public perception of abandoned dogs, and factors that influence positive/negative perceptions. As a result of the study, it was confirmed that the number of stray dogs and the number of documents related to stray dogs had a positive correlation, and specific time series changes were found through various analysis techniques such as text mining, network analysis, and sentiment analysis. This study will have significance as basic data that can be used for policy establishment or other research on abandoned dogs. we hope it will help to solve problems so as to improve awareness of abandoned dogs and develop a sense of responsibility.

  • In this paper, it can be seen that the number of abandoned dogs increases every year through the statistics on the occurrence of abandoned animals. With the goal of reducing the number of stray dogs, a smart pet dog shoulder strap is implemented based on a real-time location tracking system using the ESP32 module and GPS sensor. It is an ESP32 module with a built-in Bluetooth module. It is input to the MCU using various sensors, and finally outputs to a smart-phone application, and communicates through the built-in blue-tooth module. In addition, it uses Neopixels to compensate the weaknesses at night through LED light emission, and automatically sets the warning distance to design a music playback system through the LED flashing effect and MP3 module. In addition, a smart pet dog shoulder strap was designed to help pet dog health care by measuring the moving distance according to the amount of activity through the gyro sensor.

  • In this paper, We propose a method for identifying objects by setting inscriptions and landmarks of dogs. The phenomenon of abandoning dogs is on the rise, and the number of abandoned individuals is also rapidly increasing. These abandoned dogs are becoming wild animals, causing a lot of damage to people's daily life, causing serious problems. As a solution to this problem, the animal registration system is being implemented, but there is a phenomenon that some dog owners avoid the registration method that inserts a chip, so the complete registration system is not settled. When registering a dog, removing the avoidance of dog owners will help establish the companion animal registration system. In this paper, we present a technique to identify objects by setting inscriptions and landmarks of dogs so that dog owners can register their dogs in a friendly way to eliminate this avoidance phenomenon.

  • As social perceptions of pets change, cultural attitudes toward pets are becoming more friendly. In particular, dogs have been living familiarly and closely with humans for a long time. In the changing times, various services are being used to improve the understanding of dogs and to prevent companion dogs and increase awareness of respect for life. Therefore, in this paper, we implemented a smart lead line in which IoT service and application technology are linked to the walking dog's automatic lead line. To do this, we developed a smart dog lead line by designing and implementing an integrated module in connection with heterogeneous sensors and linking it with a dog lead line. Finally, a smart dog lead line was used to collect the dog's biological signals in real time, identify the location of the dog, and provide a notification system. Through this, we believe that the culture of dog culture can be further grown.

  • The number of abandoned dogs were increasing every year in South Korea. However, many dogs are euthanized in the shelter because of the lack of budget. This project predicts euthanasia of abandoned dogs using machine learning algorithm. It collects data from the public data portal where Korea government provides a public dataset as a form of open API. This project uses recent three-year data 2017 to 2019 and 263371 cases were founded. This project implements random forest and logistic regression models. This project attained an average 72% of prediction accuracy.

  • This study was performed to induce the estrus in 9 anestrus Shih-tzu bitches by intramuscular injection of pregnant mare serum gonadotrophin (PMSG) 50IU/kg for 10 consecutive days and by intravenous injection of human chorionic gonadotrophin (hCG) 1,000IU/Head on Day 10. The day when the first injection of PMSG was counted as Day 0 of experiment. All of the bitches were monitored by vaginal discharges, displays the perineal region, vaginal swelling and male acceptances. The 9 bitches (100%) showed vaginal discharges and vaginal swelling, and were mated. The 5 bitches out of 9 bitches were pregnant (55.6%) and 4 bitches were non-pregnant (44.4%). The 3 bitches out of 5 pregnant bitches were spontaneously delivered (33.3%) and litter size were $1.66{\pm}1.15\;(1{\sim}3\;pups)$ pups. The 2 bitches were diagnosed as early embryonic death on days 38 and 41 after first injection of PMSG. These results indicated that rates of estrus induction, pregnancy and delivery were 100%, 55.6% and 33.3%, respectively, using PMSG and hCG.
