A Study on the Application of Variable Safe-Guard Ring for the Ship Collision Avoidance in Shallow Water (천수역에서 충돌회피를 위한 가변안전경계영역 적용에 관한 연구)

  • The ship's maneuverability is the important factor to avoid ship's collisions. The ship's maneuverability is usually measured in a deep water, and the turning ability is decreased and the course stability is improved in a shallow water. The variation of the turning ability could cause the risk of collision. In this paper, we proposes application technique of Variable Safe-Guard Ring to consider the shallow water effect and to be simple to estimate the grade of collision risk simultaneously. Through the mathematical simulation, the availability of new method was varified. Therefore this method is expected enough to support a maneuver for collision avoidance.

  • 움직이는 UAV는 많은 위치에너지와 운동에너지를 가지므로 지상으로 추락하는 경우 많은 충격량을 가질 수 있다. 이는 인명피해로 연결될 수 있기 때문에 본 논문에서는 UAV 비행경로 상의 인구밀집지역을 위험구역으로 정의하였다. 기존의 UAV 경로비행은 사용자에 의해 미리 설정된 경로만을 운행하는 수동적인 형태였다. 일부 UAV는 경로비행 중 장애물을 회피하는 시스템 등 안전기능을 포함하고 있지만, 비행환경변화에 대응하기에는 부족하다. UAV 경로비행에 공공 데이터를 활용할 경우, 위험구역을 검출하고 회피비행을 수행할 수 있어서 비행환경변화에 대한 대응이 향상될 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 수집된 데이터를 활용하여 위험구역을 회피하는 최적경로 비행 방안을 제안한다. 실험결과, 제안하는 자동경로비행에서 목적지와 목적지에 따른 경로를 지정할 경우, 위험지역을 스스로 판단하여 최적 우회경로로 비행하는 것을 확인하였다. 추후 회피방안에 따라 비행하여 획득하는 영상의 질적 만족도를 높일 수 있는 방안을 연구할 예정이다.

  • Up to now a lot of the study on ship collision avoidance systems has proceeded actively. However the frequency of ship collision accidents didn't decreased. If there is collision risk in close quarters situation none the less manouvering ship for collision avoidance according to the system, only use of TCPA and DCPA as input factor for collision risk decision is not useful to avoiding collision action. For the recent 5 years by the analysis of first observation distance about approaching ship in domestic collision accidents, nearly $45\%$ of accidents is close first observation less than 2 miles. Therefor it is essential part for safety navigations to study for collision avoidance action in close encounter. In this paper, as foundation study of supporting collision avoidance manoeuvring for navigators, we proposed ship collision avoidance support model in close quarters situation through analysis of collision accidents for effective getting rid of the causes.

  • Lidar-based hazard avoidance landing system for lunar lander calculates hazard cost with respect to the desired local landing area in order to identify hazard and designate safe landing point where the cost is minimum basically using slope and roughness of the landing area. In this case, if the parameters are only considered, chosen landing target can be designated near hazard threatening the lander. In order to solve this problem and select optimal safe landing point, hazard cost based on relative distance to hazard should not be considered as well as cost based on terrain parameters. In this paper, the effect of hazard cost based on relative distance to hazard on safe landing performance was analyzed and it was confirmed that landing site designation with two relative distances to hazard results in the best safe landing performance by an experiment using three-dimensional depth camera.

Effect of Sensory Processing Patterns on Temperament and Character Traits in Undergraduate Students (대학생의 기질 및 성격발달에 감각처리가 미치는 영향)

  • Objective : We investigated how sensory processing patterns contribute to temperament and character traits in undergraduate students. Methods : A total of 107 undergraduate students were recruited in September 2022 via convenient sampling method. They completed the Adolescent/Adult Sensory Profile and the Temperament and Character Inventory. Multiple regression models were applied to analyze the effect of sensory processing quadrants (low registration, sensation seeking, sensory sensitivity, sensation avoiding) on each temperament (novelty seeking, harm avoidance, reward dependence, persistence) and character (self-directedness, cooperativeness, self-transcendence) traits. Results : Sensation seeking significantly predicted high levels of novelty seeking, reward dependence, persistence, self-directedness, and self-transcendence but low harm avoidance. Low registration predicted high harm avoidance but low levels of reward dependence, persistence, and self-directedness. Reward dependence was predicted by high sensory sensitivity and low sensation avoiding. Conclusion : This study demonstrated that sensory processing patterns affected novelty seeking, harm avoidance, reward dependence, persistence, self-directedness, and self-transcendence in young adults.

Measuring Willingness to Pay for PM10 Risk Reductions: Evidence from Averting Expenditures for Anti-PM10 Masks and Air Purifiers (미세먼지 건강위험 감소에 대한 지불의사 측정: 마스크 착용과 공기청정기 사용에 따른 회피비용을 중심으로)

  • This study is to investigate whether averting costs for wearing $anti-PM_{10}$ masks and using air purifiers at home to reduce exposure from $PM_{10}$ are influenced by subjective risk perceptions and/or objective $PM_{10}$ concentration levels, whose estimates will be used to measure the willingness to pay for $PM_{10}$ risk reduction. An empirical analysis was conducted on a sample of 1,224 respondents who participated in the web-based survey in the late October of 2017. As we reflect the potential endogeniety bias in the estimation of averting cost functions of using air purifiers, the coefficients of risk perception were differed by 6~7 times. Respondents. subjective risk perceptions were influenced by individuals' knowledge, attitudes and demographic variables, as well as the levels of $PM_{10}$ concentrations in their residential region. The marginal willingness to pay for risk reductions at the mean levels of their risk perceptions were measured at 1,000 won per month from wearing $anti-PM_{10}$ masks and 6,000 won for using air purifiers respectively.

  • This study examined the effects of ambiguity aversion on the self-protection and self-insurance efforts using a two-period model to consider the time difference between making an effort and occurring loss, which is in contrast with the existing one-period model. The loss follows a binary distribution while the distribution is ambiguous. The distribution depends on the state variable. First, the effort of ambiguity averse individuals is not always greater than that of ambiguity neutral ones. Second, the effects of absolute ambiguity aversion (AAA), which does not appear in one-period model, were observed. Not-increasing AAA is a sufficient condition to increase the efforts of ambiguity averse individuals compared to those of ambiguity neutral ones. In addition, the change in effort also depends on the probability function of the state. Lastly, the results hold even when the individual is risk neutral or risk loving. As a result, ambiguity aversion needs to be considered independently with risk aversion.

  • 최근 들어 두드러지고 있는 승조원의 승선 기피현상에 따른 항해인력 부족현상을 근원적으로 해결하기 위하여 선박 항해 전반에 걸친 자동화 및 지능화에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 특히 선박의 자동화된 항해를 위해서는 영역전문자 수준의 안전성과 정확성이 보장된 충돌회피 시스템이 요구된다. 충돌회피는 자선에서 이루어지는 해상 장애물들에 대한 피항 행위로 그 판단 기준은 각 장애물에 대한 충돌 위험도에 기반한다. 본 연구에서는 DCPA와 TCPA를 이용한 기존의 기법에 변침도(VDH: Variation Degree of Heading)의 개념을 추가하여 새로운 충돌 위험도 산출 기법을 제안한다. 입력변수가 되는 DCPA, TCPA, VDH의 퍼지 소속함수를 산출하고, 이를 기반으로 퍼지 규칙을 이용하여 세부적인 충돌 위험도를 산출한다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 기법은 충돌 위험도 산출시 장애물의 직선운항뿐만 아니라 곡선운항에 대한 경로예측이 가능하다는 장점을 지닌다. 과거의 변침도가 다음시점의 변침에 영향을 끼침으로써 장애물의 이동 경로에 대한 예측이 이루어지고, 이를 기반으로 보다 세분화된 충돌위험도 산출이 이루어진다. 제안된 기법은 DCPA와 TCPA만으로 충돌위험도를 산출해 낸 연구와 비교.평가하여 성능을 검증한다.

An Experimental Study on the Prospect Theory (전망이론에 관한 실험연구)

  • This paper performed an experimental study to test the validity of the prospect theory proposed by Tversky and Kahneman as an alternative to the expected utility theory. 115 college students attended the hypothetical games to choose one of two lotteries, one is safe option while the other one is risky. The risky options were set up to have low, medium or high probability of payoffs or losses. The amount of payoffs and losses of the lotteries was either large or small. Maximum likelihood estimation of the hypothetical games have shown that in case of high probability of positive payoffs the respondents were risk averse and when the probability of positive payoffs were small the respondents were risk loving. when the possibility of loss is high they were risk loving, while the probability is of loss is low the respondents were found to be risk averse. When the probability of risky options were medium the results were significant statistically in case of only losses. The amount of positive payoff or losses does not affect the results. Overall the results of this experiments support the prospect theory more than those of Laury & Holts (2008).
