Web Accessibility Evaluation of Cultural Contents in Korea (국내 문화콘텐츠의 웹 접근성 평가)

  • Cultural contents should provide all the people web services to ensure accessibility without any obstacles as a core resource of nation including a code linking people and people beyond time and space. This study achieved that automated measure including 11 checkpoints and manual analysis including 11 criteria and 26 checkpoints of three areas in selected five web sites such as Culture Portal. Art Road, Korean Patterns, MFM, and e-Museum supported by Ministry of Culture & Tourism. As a result, web accessibility level of cultural contents analyzed it staying at the beginning level. This study Provided the directions in order to improve accessibility of cultural contents through showing real cases to practice for improving web accessibility.

Development of Contents to Improve the Web Accessibility for People with Visual Impairments (시각장애인의 웹 접근성 향상을 위한 콘텐츠개발)

  • Since people with visual impairments are mostly hard to access the Internet they have been neglected from the information-oriented society. Therefore, the contents which consider the web accessibility to readily access to the web by people with visual impairments are an essential component. In this paper, we developed the contents to improve the web accessibility for people with visual impairments. To provide easy access to the web by people with visual impairments, we analyzed the existing web sites for blind people and considered a concise design, and hierarchical structure. Using the PHP, CSS, and Javascript, the necessary functions for the visually handicapped such as focusing, shortcut key, and text equivalent are implemented. The results which are tested by blind users prove the efficiency of the proposed contents.

  • As the network and electronic devices have been developed rapidly, the influences the web exerts on our daily lives have been increasing. Information created on the web has been playing more and more essential role as the important records which reflect each era. So there is a strong demand to archive information on the web by a standardized method. One of the methods is the snapshot strategy, which is crawling the web contents periodically using automatic software. But there are two problems in this strategy. First, it can harvest the same and duplicate contents and it is also possible that meaningless and useless contents can be crawled due to complex IT skills implemented on the web. In this paper, we will categorize the problems which can emerge when crawling web contents using snapshot strategy and present the possible solutions to settle the problems through the technical aspects by crawling the web contents in the public institutions.

  • 웹 2.0 이라 불리는 현 웹의 패러다임은 개방, 공유, 참여로 압축하여 말할 수 있다. 이 속에서는 사용자의 참여와 공유로 콘텐츠가 생산 또는 재생산된다. 이러한 콘텐츠는 사용자의 관심을 반영하기 때문에 사용자가 어떠한 콘텐츠를 만들어 냈는지, 수집했는지 등을 분석하면 사용자의 관심 범주를 추출할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 사용자가 소셜 북마킹 서비스를 이용하며 생성한 태그를 바탕으로 사용자의 관심 범주를 추출하여 이를 통해 개인화 콘텐츠 제공 서비스를 제안한다. 우선, 웹 서비스에서 제공하는 피드를 이용하여 사용자가 생성한 태그 중 가장 많이 쓰인 10개의 태그와 그것들과 관련 있는 태그들만 모아서 관심 범주을 추출하기 위한 태그 집합을 구성한다. 구성된 태그 집합을 바탕으로 피어슨 상관 계수를 통해 태그 간 동시 사용률을 조사한다. 이후 사용자 흥미에 부합하는 콘텐츠를 검색하기 위해 조사된 동시 사용률을 바탕으로 검색 키워드 그룹을 추출한다. 이렇게 만들어진 키워드 그룹들은 사용자의 평소 관심사와 관련된 콘텐츠를 검색하는데 사용되며, 이를 통해 사용자의 관심 있는 내용의 콘텐츠를 사용자의 특별한 검색 절차 없이 제공받는다. 이러한 방식을 통해 사용자가 원하는 정보를 입력하는 절차 없이도 웹에 축적된 사용자의 정보를 사용하여 자동으로 개인화된 콘텐츠를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대 된다.

  • Due to the development of the online and mobile, cases of introducing CMS(Contents Management System) and WCMS(Web Contents Management System) to manage Web-Contents of individual and company's homepage are continuously increasing. In this paper, it is necessary to develop WCMS that can establish GUI(Graphic User Interface) based WCMS and edit contents using more concise procedures. In this paper, by reconfiguring WCMS-based Web contents using user-definition, we designed the system that can effectively and conveniently edit web contents as GUI-based. Also, we studied the intuitive and convenient web-contents management methods through researches using simplified logic. Therefore, proposed WCMS based Web-contents editing system allows the users to edit and modify the web contents much more quickly and conveniently compared to the existing web-contents editing system.

Topic-Specific Mobile Web Contents Adaptation (주제기반 모바일 웹 콘텐츠 적응화)

  • Mobile content adaptation is a technology of effectively representing the contents originally built for the desktop PC on wireless mobile devices. Previous approaches for Web content adaptation are mostly device-dependent. Also, the content transformation to suit to a smaller device is done manually. Furthermore, the same contents are provided to different users regardless of their individual preferences. As a result, the user has difficulty in selecting relevant information from a heavy volume of contents since the context information related to the content is not provided. To resolve these problems, this paper proposes an enhanced method of Web content adaptation for mobile devices. In our system, the process of Web content adaptation consists of 4 stages including block filtering, block title extraction, block content summarization, and personalization through learning. Learning is initiated when the user selects the full content menu from the content summary page. As a result of learning, personalization is realized by showing the information for the relevant block at the top of the content list. A series of experiments are performed to evaluate the content adaptation for a number of Web sites including online newspapers. The results of evaluation are satisfactory, both in block filtering accuracy and in user satisfaction by personalization.

  • 웹 콘텐츠의 특성상 분배, 복제 및 조작이 용이하기 때문에 원 정보의 저작권 침해로 인한 재산권 침해 피해가 나날이 증가하고 있어, 막대한 비용이 투자된 웹 콘텐츠의 무단도용을 방지하고 분쟁 발생시 소유권에 대한 분쟁을 해결하기 위한 노력이 계속되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 웹 콘텐츠의 소유권 및 저작권 보호를 위한 오디오 콘텐츠에 대한 워터마크 생성, 삽입 및 검출, 검증 시스템을 설계 및 구현한다. 본 시스템은 저작권 보호에 대한 전문지식이 없는 일반관리자도 용이하게 이용할 수 있는 사용자 인터페이스를 갖추고 있으며, 이러한 디지털 오디오 워터마킹의 적용을 통한 소유권 및 저작권 보호는 궁극적으로 콘텐츠 제작 의뢰자로 하여금 제작 의지를 강화하여 제작 의뢰 건수를 증가시킬 수 있을 것으로 기대되어 문화콘텐츠 등의 디지털 콘텐츠 제작업체의 매출 신장에 도움을 주게될 것이다.

A Study on the Factors Affecting Pre-Roll Advertising Avoidance by Online Video Content Types (온라인 동영상 콘텐츠 유형별 프리롤 광고회피에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the causes of pre-roll ads played before watching online video contents, and to investigate the using motives by dividing them into broadcasting contents clips and web original contents. The results show that broadcast contents clips have higher use of entertainment/habitual use and social interaction, and that the use time of web content is higher when entertainment/convenience and selective use motivation are higher. Second, perceived invasion has the greatest effect on ad avoidance in broadcasting contents clip, and positive attitude toward advertisement is a significant factor in web contents. Content factors such as content preference and engagement did not affect the avoidance of pre-roll ad.

  • It is very active that existing companies of providing e-Learning contents try to differentiate themselves through a business model based on Web 2.0. For instance, Etoos, online education website (www.etoos.com) run by SK Communications has made more space where students can participate in the Web 2.0 era and overhauled its website completely, turning into an open-ended one, which strengthens learning and fun in 2007. This study is to analyze the present state of e-Learning contents with representative e-learning sites for middle and high school students, to find that the development direction for next generation e-Learning lies in developing contents focusing on learners that can get effective feedback and drawing collective intelligence grounded on the essence of Web 2.0, and to suggest 'the project to form virtual private tutor community in e-Learning contents.'
