Design and Implementation on-line Real-time Video Communication Learning System(RVCLS) for Web-based Project Learning (웹기반 프로젝트 학습을 지원하는 실시간 화상학습시스템의 설계 및 구현)

  • In this paper, we designed the on-line Real-time Video Communication Learning System(RVCLS) for Web-based project learning and develop programs for test groups. And we have also analyzed how the Web-based learning using RVCLS change the students' perception on the classroom environment, using the WIHIC which is the classroom environment examination tool As a result, the Web-based project learning activities using RVCLS had affirmative effects on the eight areas of classroom environment such as students unity, teacher support, participation in class, spontaneity, exploration activities, task-oriented mind, cooperative attitude, and equality. Also, the web -based project learning using RVCLS is expected to help students enhance the self-directed learning capacity and increase abilities to use ICT.

Utility Analysis on Activating Web-Based Course Support System by Faculty in Universities (웹기반 강의지원시스템에 대한 대학교수의 활용도분석)

  • To purpose of the study was to analyze faculty utility of Web-Based course support system in Universities. Data were collected from log file in server computer, 5,023 faculties and 12,733 courses offered at spring semester of 2009 in the Metropolitan area S, K, D universities were analyzed. Specifically, frequency and percentile of faculties and courses using course management system were analyzed. In addition, the frequencies and percentiles of courses using sub-functions of course management system were analyzed and X2 test used to examine the difference of frequencies of faculties and courses using course system at using announcement, providing instructional material, public bulletin board and free board. Results were as follows. The 62.28% of faculties and 50.3% of courses have used Web-Based course support system. The results of Subfunction utility analysis showed the highest use as 80.4%. in providing instructional material. However, the use of announcement functions and online discussion was more or less low. Results imply that most of faculties and course are using course management system as supplementary system of off-line instruction.

A Study on e-PBL System for Improvement of Self-Directed Learning Ability (자기주도적 학습능력 향상을 위한 e-PBL 시스템 연구)

  • This research examines how PBL(Problem-based Learning; PBL) system affects to 'Self-directed learning ability', by developing and applying it to the participants of "Science Cyber Conference" - the web based on-line debating learning program - among those students of the Affiliated Institute of Science gifted education of K University, for 16weeks. With this, also the cognizance of learners for the PBL class process are looked into together. After conducting the program applied with the web-based PBL strategy, the participants 'Self-directed learning ability' showed the remarkable change statistically (p<.05). Especially it showed the meaningful changes in six sections (p<.05), among those subdivided seven sections of 'Self-directed learning ability', with the one exception, 'Self-confidence as a Learner'. They also showed the positive response to the class which adopted the web-based PBL strategy.

  • 청소년의 인터넷 사용횟수가 급속히 증가하면서 그에 따른 역기능이 사회문제가 되는 시점에서, 학생들이 자신의 컴퓨터 활용 실태를 스스로 검토해 볼 수 있으며, 문제점이 있는 활용실태에 대한 현실감 있는 해결방법을 스스로 찾아볼 수 있는 기회와 환경을 제공하는 것이 필요하다. 청소년의 컴퓨터 활용과 관련한 역기능의 문제를 청소년 본인이 가장 정확하게 파악하고 있으며, 토론활동을 통하여 가장 효율적인 해결방안을 제시할 수 있는 대상도 청소년이다. 따라서 정보통신윤리 의식의 함양을 목적으로 학교 수업 시간에 적용이 가능한 웹 사이트 형태의 네티켓 코스웨어를 개발하여 적용하고자 한다.

Library Management and Services for Software Component Reuse on the Web (Web 소프트웨어 컴포넌트 재사용을 위한 라이브러리 관리와 서비스)

  • In searching and locating a collection of components on the Web, users require a Web browser. Since the Web libraries tend to grow rapidly, there needs to be an effective way to organize and manage such large libraries. Traditional Web-based library(retrieval) systems provide various classification scheme and retrieval services to store and retrieve components. However, these systems do not include invaluable services, for example, enabling users to grasp the overall contents of the library at the beginning of retrieval. This paper discusses a Web-based library system, which provides the efficient management of object-oriented components and a set of services beyond simple component store and retrieval. These services consist of component comprehension through a reverse engineering process, automated summary extraction, and comprehension-based retrieval. Also, The performance of an automated cluster-based classification scheme adopted on the system is evaluated and compared with the cluster-based classification scheme adopted on the system is evaluated and compared with the performance of two other systems using traditional classification scheme.

  • 이 연구는 학교 교사가 직접 System을 운영할 수 있도록 함으로써 학교교육과 방과후 교육을 연계시키고 현장 교육 중심의 사이버교육이 되도록 함을 목적으로 했다. 현재 많은 가정에 고속의 전용선이 설치됨으로써 각 가정에서도 ON-Line 교육에 쉽게 접근할 수 있게 되었다. 가상학교, 가상수업에 관한 기존 연구들은 주로 시스템의 설계에 치중하여, 이러한 시스템을 도입하려는 일선 학교에 구체적인 도움을 주지 못하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 기존 연구들이 제시하는 가상수업의 구성요소 중 공통적인 것을 선택하고 학교 현장에서 수학 교육을 담당하고 있는 교사가 직접 이 사이트를 실험적으로 운영하게 함으로써 실제교육 현장에서 사용 할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한 수업과 관련된 주제로 토론을 하거나, 학습자료 파일을 업로드 및 다운로드 할 수 있게 하고, 다른 지역의 개인이나 학급과 편리하게 의사소통을 할 수 있게 하고 개인 상담을 할 수 있는 메일기능을 활용하여 교수-학습을 용이하도록 하였다.

User Characterization from Replying Comment Structures in Online Discussion (온라인 토론의 댓글 응답 구조를 이용한 사용자 특성 분석)

  • In online communities, users use comments to exchange their opinions and feelings on various subjects. Communication based on comments is quick and convenient, but sometimes this light-weight characteristic makes users use impolite and aggressive words, which leads to an online conflict. Therefore, it is important to analyze and classify users according to their characteristics in order to predict and take action for this kind of troubles. In this paper, we present several quantitative measures for describing the structures of comments trees based on the assumption that the user characteristics be observed as a form of some structural feature in comment trees of articles in which they posted comments. We examine the distribution of the proposed measures over article posters and commenters, and in addition, we show the effectiveness of the presented structural features by conducting experiments to classify users who have received warnings of the administrator from benign users.

The Effect of Web-based Learning by Studying the Motion of the Moon (달의 운동에 대한 웹 기반 프로젝트 학습의 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to design a web-based project learning that is suitable for teaching concepts by studying the motion of the Moon for middle school students and to investigate the effects of the lesson applying designed learning. Designed learning was conducted with 48 ninth graders, who were individually interviewed; 5 males and females students out of the total. The types and factors of the unscientific concepts on the motion of the Moon were analyzed by the pre-test using interviews and questionnaires being evaluated to the degree of concept level that was developed in this study. After the pre-test students were instructed to do the web-based project learning where they could observe the motion of the moon for a month and discuss the results from the observation. After the web-based project learning, the effect of learning was examined by applying the post-test to the students and by analyzing the comparison of the pre-test and the post-test. The web-based project learning was effective for the conceptual change of the motion of the Moon (p<.001). According to the post-test, it positively affected the students and improved their integrated processing skills. Specifically, it had effects on conducting experiments (p<.001), controlling variables and defining operations (p<.05) in integrated processing skills.

  • The purpose of this paper is to present the effective operation method of cyber home learning system 2.0. Cyber home learning system 2.0 which plays an important role to produce and share data of internet users establishing user-centered internet environment is recently introduced as web 2.0 is beginning to appear. This research is based on the case of the operation on cyber home learning system, research literature of web 2.0 as well as expert consulting and performance test. After doing this research, cyber home learning system 2.0 can bring enormous educational effect when it has online education using web-based discussion tool and long distance consulting linking with off line school education. Redundant system configuration, the distributed processing also may be provided by the service was smooth. Moreover, it demands monitoring team consisting of student, parents and teacher in order to provide developmental service.

The Effect of Web-Based Small Group Discussion on the Achievement and Satisfaction in practical Learning Tasks (실습과제 수행에서의 웹 기반 소집단 토론학습이 학업성취도와 학업 만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of Web-based small group discussion on the achievement and satisfaction in the practice-planning phase of Technology and Home Economy. The subject of this study consists of 68 students of a middle school. The 7r7up is divided into two subgroup. the Web-based discussion croup and the face-to-face discussion grouts. each of which has 34 students. The achievement is estimated by individual reports. practice plans and the overall evaluation sheets. To estimate the satisfaction of students. the test sheets were used. together with the interviews of sampled students from both group. The results show that there is a statistically significant difference in the performance of practice between the two groups with the significant level of 0.05(p<0.05). There is also some difference in the satisfaction between the two groups.
