  • 본 연구에서는 연속 웨이블렛 변환을 이용하여 Ringing 현상을 연구하였다. 사용되어진 웨이블렛은 Morlet 웨이블렛이었고, 실험은 파수조에서 수행되었다. 또한 Ringing 현상을 다루고자 쇄파를 발생시켰다. 실험에 쓰인 모델은 수면을 통과하여 수직으로 고정된 원주 실린더였고, 이 실린더에 작용된 힘과 파고가 측정되어졌다. 이들은 연속 웨이블렛 변환으로 분석되어졌고, 이러한 분석으로 얻어진 scalogram 들은 고주파 성분이 쇄파 충격시 만들어진다는 사실을 시간영역상에서 보여주었다. 이는 기존의 스펙트럼 분석에서는 찾기 힘든 것이다. Coherence 분석도 위의 결론을 뒷받침해 주었다.

Estimating Stress Intensity Factor in Cylindrical Pressure Vessels (원통형 압력용기의 응력확대계수 산출 및 평가)

  • 구미와 일본에서는 균열이 실린더벽을 과통하므로서 발생되는 일부누설로 인하여 실린더가 불안전 파괴가 이루어진 후 급속파단으로 전개되는 판당전 누설(Leak Before Break, LBB)를 전제로 한 구조건전성의 확인 시험연구가 널리 수행되고 있다. 본고에서는 Gs-C25 실린더의 구조건전성을 LBB개념의 도입과 파괴역할을 이용하여 평가하였다. 내부압력 80bar일때의 실린더에서 응력확대계수 계산은 구조물의응력확대계수가 극단적으로 큰 디멘젼을 지닌 측균열인 경우에서만 재료의 인성계수 $K_{lc}$ /와 $K_{eff}$ 에 도달된다는 것을 나타내었으며, 반면에 원주균열은 파괴 인성치 $K_{lc-}$$K_{eff-}$ 값까지는 어떠한 경우에도 도달되지 않았다. 구조물의 국부적인 취성파괴는 균열을 함유한 누설로 유도되는 범위에서, "$K_{1}$ 구조물$\geq$$K_{lc}$$K_{eff}$ "의 조건을 만족시에만 발생되며, 이는 축균열이 원주균열보다 훨씬 더 위험하다는 것을 증명한다.는 것을 증명한다.

  • Mixed convection of air in a horizontal concentric cylindrical annulus is investigated numerically. Isothermal boundary conditions are prescribed at the inner and outer cylinders, with the inner cylinder being warmer. The forced flow is induced by the outer cylinder which is rotating slowly with constant angular velocity with its axis at the center of the annulus. The effect of the forced flow on the flow pattern and heat transfer of natural convection is investigated for the annulus of (inner-cylinder radius/gap width) = 1. There appear two eddies, one eddy or no eddy according to the Rayleigh and Reynolds numbers. Map of the three flow regimes is constructed on the Ra-Re plane. (author). 28 refs., 9 figs., 2 tabs.

  • To solve the interaction of incident monochromatic waves with a bottom-fixed vertical circular cylinder, a numerical analysis by boundary element method is developed using three-dimensional linear potential theory. A numerical analysis by boundary element method is based on Green's theorem and introduce to an integral equation for the fluid velocity potential around the vertical circular cylinder. These numerical results are compared with those of ManCamy and Fuchs(1954) and Williams and Mansour(2002), and it has shown good relationship with their results. This numerical analysis developed by boundary element method will be applied for various offshore structures to be constructed in coastal zones in the future.

  • 열박음(shrink fitting)으로 인(因)한 동심형(同心形) 구멍을 가진 복합(複合)실린더의 과도적(過渡的) 온도분포(溫度分布), 열응력(熱應力) 및 열변형도(熱變形度)를 이론해석(理論解析)하였다. 온도분포해석(溫度分布解析)에서 외부(外部) 실린더는 균일온도(均一溫度)로 가열(加熱)되어, 실온(室溫)의 내부(內部) 실린더와 접촉면(接觸面)에서 일어나는 열전도(熱傳導)에 의(依)하여 냉각(冷却)되고, 외부(外部) 표면(表面)은 대기중(大氣中)에 노출(露出)된 상태(狀態)로 취급(取扱)하였다. 열응력(熱應力)은 평면변형도조건(平面變形度條件)을 만족(滿足)하는 것으로 생각하였으며, 물성(物性)은 온도(溫度)에 무관(無關)한 상수(常數)로 취급(取扱)하였다. 온도분포(溫度分布)는 열전도문제(熱傳導問題)만을 고려(考慮)함으로서도 유효(有效)한 해(解)를 얻을 수 있으며 열응력(熱應力)은 접촉면(接觸面)에서부터 형성(形成)되며, 반경방향응력(半徑方向應力)은 시간(時間)이 경과(經過)함에 따라 압축응력(壓縮應力)이 증가(增加)하여 접촉면(接觸面)에서 최대치(最大値)를 갖고, 원주방향응력(圓周方向應力)은 접촉면(接觸面)에서 초기(初期)부터 거의 최종상태(最終狀態)와 같은 크기를 갖음을 알 수 있다. 균일온도분포(均一溫度分布)가 이루어지면 열응력(熱應力)의 형성(形成)은 완료(完了)되게 되며, 이때의 열응력(熱應力)의 크기와 분포경향(分布傾向)은 평면응력조건(平面應力條件)을 사용(使用)하였다는 사실(事實)을 고려(考慮)하면 $Lam\acute{e}$의 이론해(理論解)와 일치(一致)함을 알 수 있었다.

An Experimental Study on the Cylinder Wall Temperature Characteristics for Load Variations in a Gasoline Engine (가솔린엔진의 부하(負荷)에 따른 실린더 벽면 온도특성(溫度特性)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • The purpose of this study is to prevent the stick, scuffing, scratch between piston and cylinder, is to contribute the piston design such as piston profile, clearance by calculating reaction force by over-lap of piston skirt, as measuring the temperature distributions of cylinder wall. The experiment has been peformed to obtain data during actual engine operation. Temperature gradient in peripheral and axial distributions of cylinder wall according to torque and speed of engine were measured by use of an 800cc class gasoline engine. The results obtained are summarized as follows ; 1) The temperature of cylinder wall at TDC was about $50{\sim}75^{\circ}C$ higher than temperature of cooling water. 2) The rear side temperature of top dead center was $141^{\circ}C$(1/4 load) in axial distribution, whereas the rear side of midway position temperature was $98^{\circ}C$. 3) The temperature of cylinder wall increased in according to rising temperature of cooling water. 4) The thrust side temperature of cylinder wall was about $15^{\circ}C$ in all load test. 5) The rear side temperature of top dead center was $159^{\circ}C$ (1/2 load) in peripheral distribution, it was about $39^{\circ}C$ higher than thrust side temperature.

  • A method for the calculation of the combustion pressure of Kick-Motor was proposed, which is based on the circumferential direction strain on the cylinder of Kick-Motor. At first, polynomials which approximate the ratio of strain and Combustion Pressure during Combustion Time was calculated from ground firing tests. Then strain data during flight time was plugged into the polynomials to get Combustion Pressure of the Kick-Motor. Compared with the measured pressure data during flight the converted showed similar trend. Pressure difference between them was about 10psi.

An Experimental Study on Drag Reduction of Grooved Cylinders (Riblet 홈을 가진 원주의 저항감소에 관한 연구)

  • An experimental investigation has been carried out for two circular cylinders having different groove configurations(U and V-shape). The results were compared with those for the smooth circular cylinder. The drag force, mean velocity and turbulent intensity profiles of wake behind the cylinders were measured with varying the Reynolds number $Re=8000{\sim}14,000$ based on the cylinder diameter. As a results, the U-groove circular cylinder was found to be most effective riblet shape with reducing the drag up to 21%. As the Reynolds number increases, the vortex shedding frequency of the grooved cylinders becomes a little larger, compared to the smooth cylinder. The flow visualization using the smoke-wire technique was also carried out to see the flow structure qualitatively.

Flow Around an Elliptic Cylinder Placed Near a Plane Boundary (평판 가까이에 놓인 타원형 실린더 주위 유동에 관한 연구)

  • Flow characteristics and aerodynamic forces acting on an elliptic cylinder placed in a plane boundary layer were investigated experimentally. Four cylinder models with axis ratio(major axis to minor axis, AR=A/B) of 1, 2, 3, and 4 having the same equivalent diameter were used in this experiment. The Reynolds number based on the equivalent diameter $D_e$(=20mm) was 13,000. In the case of circular cylinder, regular vortex shedding occurs for the cylinder gaps larger than G/B=0.3 and is not almost related to the boundary layer thickness. But, for the elliptic cylinders, the vortex shedding frequency is increased with increasing the gap ratio (G/B) and the axis ratio (AR) of elliptic cylinders. The maximum drag coefficient acting on a circular cylinder is mainly affected by the boundary layer thickness. But, the elliptic cylinders(AR$\geq$2), except for the smaller gap G/B<0.2, show a nearly constant drag coefficient which is much smaller than that of a circular cylinder. The base pressure on the flat plate decreases with increasing the axis ratio(AR) of the elliptic cylinder. In the case of a circular cylinder, the base pressure has the minimum value at the gap ratio G/B=0.4, but it occurs at G/D=2 for elliptic cylinders. The mean velocity of the cylinder wake is quickly recovered at a small cylinder height ratio(H/$\delta$), but the turbulent intensity is rapidly recovered at a large cylinder height ratio(H/$\delta$). The effective wake region in the plane boundary layer is shrinkaged with increasing the axis ratio(AR) of elliptic cylinder. And the drag coefficient and streamwise turbulent intensity of the elliptic cylinder with AR=4 are less than half of those for the circular cylinder(AR=1).

The Circular Center Cut with Large Empty Hole & Pre-Splitting in Tunnel Blasting (터널에서 대구경 무장약공과 선균열을 이용한 심빼기 공법에 관한 연구)

  • The cylindrical cut is most frequently used in tunnel blast regardless of their dimensions. In this study the new parallel cut is proposed to raise advance per round, which is considered to be an elevation of the traditional cylinder cuts. The general geometric pattern of a new cut with parallel blast holes is proposed. The detailed burden and spacing between the central blasthole and those of the four section are also given. The blast results between new cut and traditional cylinder cut are given. The main results of this study are as follows. 1) The average advances per rounds in new cuts can reach 99.5% of drilling length. That of traditional cylinder cuts are known approximately 90∼95% 2) Specific charge weight of new cut compare to that of cylinder cut is approximately reduced 5% from 1.363 to 1.297 kg/㎥ 3) Specific drilling rate is also reduced 8% from 2.393 to 2.130 m/㎥ 4) Vibrations, fly rock, and fragmentation produced by the new blast are to be proved superior to those of the traditional cylinder cuts.
