본 워크플로우 모델링 시스템은 기존의 워크플로우 모델링 시스템과 달리, 인터넷 기반의 실시간 그룹웨어 기술을 통해 일련의 사용자 그룹이 동시에 워크플로우 모델링을 할 수 있는 기능을 제공하며. 스윔레인 워크플로우 모델링 방식의 역할 기반의 모델링은 복잡한 모델링 작업을 단순화 시킬 수 있다. 즉, 기존의 워크플로우 모델링 기능에 실시간 그룹웨어 특성들을 통합함으로써, 한 차원 높은 수준의 모델링 환경을 제공하고, 이를 통하여 기존의 워크플로우 시스템들이 지원하지 못 했던 워크플로우 모델링 협동 작업을 실시간으로 지원 할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라. 요즘과 같이 대형화와 복잡화 그리고 다양화의 특징을 갖는 조직들의 워크플로우들에 대한 효율적인 분석 및 모델링 환경을 제공하기 위하여 스윔레인 워크플로우 모델링 시스템을 설계 및 구현하였다. 또한 본 워크플로우 모델링 시스템을 통한 모델링 결과는 국제 표준화 워크플로우 정의 언어 (Process Definition Language)를 제공함으로써, 기존의 다른 워크플로우 시스템들과의 상호 호환성을 제공하고자 하였다.

본 논문에서는, 워크플로우 모델링에 사용하는 ICN(Information Control Net)을 위한 자바 기반의 워크플로우 모델링 도구의 설계 및 구현에 관하여 기술하였다. 특히, 본 워크플로우 모델링 도구는 기존의 워크플로우 모델링 도구들과는 달리, 인터넷 기반의 실시간 그룹웨어 기술을 통해 일련의 사용자 그룹이 동시에 워크플로우를 모델링 할 수 있는 기능을 제공하고 있다. 즉, 기존의 워크플로우 모델링 기능에 실시간 그룹웨어 특성들을 통합함으로써, 한 차원 높은 수준의 모델링 환경을 제공하고, 이를 통하여 기존의 워크플로우 시스템들이 지원하지 못했던 조직 내의 구성원들간의 협동 작업을 실시간으로 지원할 수 있을 뿐 만 아니라, 요즘과 같이 대형화와 복잡화 그리고 다양화의 특징을 갖는 조직내의 워크플로우(또는 사무업무 프로세스)들에 대한 효율적인 분석 및 모델링 환경을 제공하는데 그 목적이 있다. 또한, 본 도구를 통한 모델링 결과는 WPDL(Workflow Process Definition Language)라는 국제 표준화 워크플로우 정의 언어로 저장됨으로써, 기존의 다른 워크플로우 시스템들과의 상호 호환성을 제공하고자 하였다.

최근에 데이터베이스 기술에 이은 차세대 사무업무 전산화의 핵심 기술일 뿐만 아니라 CALS/EC의 핵심기술인 워크플로우 기술에 많은 관심이 집중되고 있다. 워크플로우 기술은 사무업무의 흐름을 자동화하기 위한 일종의 운영체계 역할을 수행하는 워크플로우 관리 시스템분야와 그 워크플로우 관리 시스템의 이론적 기반일 뿐만 아니라 사무업무의 흐름 자체를 정의하고 분석하는 워크플로우 모델 분야로 나뉘어 진다. 본 논문에서는 대표적인 워크플로우 모델중의 하나인 ICN (Information Control Nets) 모델을 기반으로 하는 모델링 도구의 설계 및 구혀에 관하여 기술하였다. 본 워크플로우 모델링 도구는 자바 기반의 워크플로우 정의 및 분석 환경을 제공함으로서 컴퓨터 시스템에 의존적인 기존의 모델링 도구가 갖는 단점을 개선하였으며, 또한 ICN으로 정의된 사무업무 워크플로우를 국제표준의 워크플로우 정의 언어인 WPDL(Workflow Procedure Description Language)로 변환시킴으로써 워크플로우 관리 시스템에 독립적인 워크플로우 모델링 환경을 제공하는 것을 특징으로 한다. 결론적으로, 본 ICN 모델링 도구는 사무업무 흐름과 리엔지니어링을 위한 분석 도구로서 확장될 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 분석된 결과인 사무업무 프로세스를 다른 워크플로우 관리 시스템에 직접 적용할 수 있게 하는 Streamlining 워크플로우 정의 업무의 기반이 된다.

BPMN(Business Process Modeling Notation)은 BPMI(Business Process Management Initiative)에서 발표한 것으로서 비즈니스 프로세스 모델링을 위한 표준 표기법이다. BPMN은 표준 모델링 표기법 이므로 다른 모델링 표기법을 익히는데 사용되는 시간을 줄이며 IT 및 비즈니스 사용자들 간의 의사소통을 증진시킬 수 있다. 이에 대응하여 WfMC(The Workflow Management Coalition)는 XPDL 매핑작업을 시도하여 BPMN을 XPDL로 표현할 수 있도록 하였고, 그 결과 BPMN에 매핑시킨 XPDL2.0을 발표하였다. 본 논문에서 설계한 모델링 시스템은 표준 표기법인 BPMN을 통하여 모델링을 하고 그 결과를 국제 표준화 워크풀로우 정의 언어인 XPDL2.0으로 제공하는 워크플로우 모델링시스템을 제안하여 다른 워크플로우 시스템들과의 상호 호환성을 제공하는 것이며, 역할 기반의 모델링 방식으로 복잡한 모델링 작업을 단순화 시킬 수 있다. 즉, 워크플로우 모델링 기능에 실시간 그룹웨어 특성들을 통합하여, 한 차원 높은 수준의 모델링 환경제공을 통하여 기존의 워크플로우 시스템들이 지원하지 못 했던 워크플로우 모델링 협동 작업을 실시간으로 지원 할 수 있을 문만 아니라, 요즘과 같이 대형화와 복잡화 그리고 다양화의 특징을 갖는 조직들의 워크플로우 들에 대한 효율적인 분석 및 모델링 환경을 제공하기 위한 워크플로우 모델링 시스템을 제안한다.

A workflow procedure has recently become more complicated and large scaled. In this paper, we propose an advanced workflow modeling methodology, called a fragment driven cooperative workflow modeling methodology. which enables several real workflow designers to cooperatively define a workflow model. The methodology is a Bottom-Up approach in terms of integrating a set of fragment ICNs to compose a complete workflow model. Each fragment ICN is defined by each participant in the cooperative modeling session, We also use the ICN based formal description and the ICN based graphical notation as well. Finally, we prove the feasibility of the methodology by implementing a cooperative workflow modeling system.

기업 업무의 절차와 규모가 복잡해지고 증가함에 따라 한 사람이 기업의 모든 업무 프로세스를 모델링하고 관리하는 것이 어려워지고 있다. 기존의 워크플로우 모델링 방식은 한 명(또는 소수)의 디자이너가 맡아 왔다. 하지만 본 논문에서 제시하는 역할(Role) 기반의 프로세스 모델링은 각 역할에 해당되는 디자이너 그룹이 프로세스를 정의하기 때문에 모델링 작업을 단순화 시킬 수 있었으며 기존의 워크플로우 시스템들이 지원하지 못 했던 워크플로우 모델링 작업을 실시간으로 지원할 수 있게 되었다. 또한 본 워크플로우 모델링 시스템을 통한 모델링 결과는 국제 표준화 워크플로우 정의 언어(Process Definition Language)를 제공함으로써, 기존의 워크플로우 시스템들과의 상호호환성을 제공 하고자 하였다.

UML(Unified Modeling Language) 액티비티 다이어그램은 시스템의 동적인 측면을 표현하는데 적합하기 때문에 비즈니스 프로세스와 워크플로우를 모델링 하는데 유용하게 사용된다. 워크플로우 모델링은 이해하기 쉽고. 작업하기 쉬운 보편성을 갖고 있도록 개발되어져야 한다. 또한 모델링을 하는 기법 자체에는 정형적인 의미를 내포하고 있어야 하며 분석이 가능해야 한다. 이에 본 논문에서는 워크플로우 시스템의 특성에 맞도록 ASM(Abstract State Machine) 시멘틱을 이용하여 액티비티 다이어그램 기반의 워크플로우 모델링에 대한 시멘틱 표현을 제안한다. 이와 같은 ASM 시멘틱을 기반으로 하는 정형적인 시멘틱 표현을 통하여 보다 효율적인 워크플로우 모델링이 가능하다.

최근에 워크플로우 관리 시스템에 대한 연구 및 개발이 활발히 진행되고 있다 초기의 워크플로우 관리시스템은 주어진 조직의 데이터와 조직원을 워크플로우에 적용하였다. 인터넷과 B2B(Business-To-Business)/B2B(Business-To-Enterprise) 환경이 발전하면서 타 조직과의 데이터 및 조직원과 이종 워크플로우 관리 시스템간의 상호 작용으로 업무를 처리할 수 있는 네트워크 환경이 형성되어 있다. 본 논문에서는 워크플로우 관리 시스템에 필요한 조직, 데이터, 애플리케이션을 에이전트의 의해서 관리하면, 정의된 비즈니스 프로세스를 각각의 워크플로우 관리 시스템의 비즈니스 모델링 툴의 XML 형식으로 배포하여 이기종 간 상호 작용한 수 있는 워크플로우 모델링 시스템을 설계하고자 한다.

Many organizations have been recognizing the necessity of workflow automation technologies according to the rapid expansion of business process oriented applications, such as enterprise resource pianning, customer relationship management, electronic approval management, and so on, Thus, they have started adopting workflow management systems as an essential technological solution for their workflow processes, However, we need some technological extensions and improvements on them in order to accommodate a new type of workflow processes, which is called cross-organizational global workflow processes that require a certain level of collaborations between the organizations engaged in the global workflow processes, Fragment-driven workflow modeling methodology is a Bottom-Up methodology composing a global workflow by defining each organization's own activities, which is called a fragment through a realtime cooperative system. The approach is able to not only simplify the modeling work but also keep each organization's independence in modeling a global workflow, In this paper, we describe the fragment-driven workflow modeling methodology and realize the methodology through the implementation of a cooperative swimlane workflow modeling system.

This paper proposes a cloud workflow model theoretically supported by the information control net modeling methodology as a cloud workflow modeling methodology that is mandatory in implementing realtime enterprise workflow management systems running with cloud computing environments. The eventual goal of the cloud workflow model proposed in this paper is to support those cloud workflow architectures reflecting the types of cloud deployment models such as private, community, public, and hybrid cloud deployment models. Moreover, the proposed model is a mathematical graph model that is extended from the information control net modeling methodology used in conventional enterprise workflow modeling, and it aims to theoretically couple this methodology with the cloud deployment models. Finally, this paper tries to verify the feasibility of the proposed model by building a possible cloud workflow architecture and its cloud workflow services on a realtime enterpeise cloud workflow management system.
