Development of Prototype Web-based Disaster Management System for Safe Operation of Next Generation Bi-Modal Tram (바이모달 트램의 안전 운행을 위한 웹기반 재해관리 시스템 Prototype 버전 개발)

  • 최근 들어 한국철도기술연구원 (KRRI) 에서는 자동운행이 가능한 바이모달 트램 시스템을 개발하고 있다. 이 바이모달 트램 시스템은 노선에 설치된 센서를 자동으로 인식하여 자동 운행을 하며, 재해 발생시 수동으로 운행될 수도 있다. 바이모달 트램 시스템이 노선에 설치된 센서를 인식하여 자동운행을 하기 때문에, 기후패턴 변화에 따른 집중강우로 인해 예기치 않은 홍수 발생시 바이모달 트램 시스템 승객 및 차량의 안전이 확보되어야 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 Web GIS 기반의 트램 재해관리 시스템 (Bi-modal Tram Disaster Management System: BTDMS) 프로토타입 버전을 개발하였다. 이 BTDMS 시스템은 US EPA에서 개발한 SWMM 모험을 핵심 엔진으로 활용하여 지표면 유출 및 관거 해석을 수행한다. 본 연구에서는 기상청 예측 강우량 자료를 이용하여 실시간 내수침수 예측을 수행할 수 있는 모듈, 지표면 유출수의 흐름을 고려할 수 있는 모듈, 그리고 지역별로 유출심을 산정하여 바이모달 트램 시스템 운행 판단의 기준자료로 활용할 수 있는 모듈을 개발하여 BTDMS에 추가하였다. 이러한 모듈을 이용하여 예측된 자료는 바이모달 트램 시스템의 운행 속도를 늦추거나 우회노선을 선택하는데 활용될 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구에서 개발한 Web GIS 기반의 BTDMS는 2009년 상반기 밀양 지역에 설치될 바이모달 트램 시범지역에 적용되어 그 적용성이 평가될 것이다.

The Efficacy of Biofeedback in Reducing Cybersickness in Virtual Navigation (생체신호 피드백을 적용한 가상 주행환경에서 사이버멀미 감소 효과)

  • Our previous studies investigated that narrow field of view (FOV : 50˚) and slow navigation speed decreased the frequency of occurrence and severity of cybersickness during immersion in the virtual reality (VR). It would cause a significant reduction of cybersickness if it were provided cybersickness alleviating virtual environment (CAVE) using biofeedback method whenever subject underwent physiological agitation. For verifying the hypothesis, we constructed a real-time cybersickness detection and feedback system with artificial neural network whose inputs are electrophysiological parameters of blood pulse volume, skin conductance, eye blink, skin temperature, heart period, and EEG. The system temporary provided narrow FOV and decreased speed of navigation as feedback outputs whenever physiological measures signal the occurrence of cybersickness. We examined the frequency and severity of cybersickness from simulator sickness questionnaires and self-report in 36 subjects. All subjects experienced VR two times in CAVE and non-CAVE condition at one-month intervals. The frequency and severity of cybersickness were significantly reduced in CAVE than non-CAVE condition. Virtual environment of narrow FOV and slow navigation provided by electrophysiological features based artificial neural network caused a significant reduction of cybersickness symptoms. These results showed that efficiency of a cybersickness detection system we developed was relatively high and subjects expressed more comfortable in the virtual navigation environment.

  • It is practically hard to measure vehicle fuel consumption required to evaluate the energy-related governmental policies and traffic management strategies; the existing methods are too simplified due to the limited field data available. Existing methods are even unable to reflect the amount of fuel consumed when vehicles accelerate and decelerate, and such technical limitations have reduced the quality of the policy evaluation. This study proposes a new fuel consumption model that simultaneously considers the effects of both cruising speed and acceleration/deceleration of vehicles. A new fuel consumption model was developed based on the simulation data generated by AVL Cruise, a vehicle simulation program. The estimated by the proposed model was compared against the one from the existing method. Comparison results showed that the proposed model provided much reliable estimate (fuel consumption) than the other did.

  • As the ambient vibration test (AVT) of railway bridges has a limited range of speed, it has a limitation in examining the dynamic behavior of bridges accordingto speed. Thus, in order to analyze the correlation between the speed of a train passing over a bridge and the bridge's dynamic response, we conducted a speed-increasing experiment using a real diesel locomotive. To analyze the acceleration response characteristics, we attached seven vertical accelerometers at equal intervals throughout the entire section of the bridge except the supports, and one horizontal accelerometer to the middle span. Linear variable differential transformers (LVDT) were installed at the bridge's center in both vertical and horizontal directions to investigate the vertical and horizontal behaviors. The test train was statically loaded at the center and at the end of the bridge. And its speed was increased from 5 km/h to 90 km/h. With data obtained from the experiment, the vibration level was evaluated in each direction by the filtering frequency, and the level of horizontal vibration was examined in comparison with vertical vibration. The displacement and wheel load variation was analyzed by speed.

  • 본 논문에서는 열차이동시 운행선구에 따른 운동에너지를 모델링하기 위한 중력 모델링에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 중력 모델링은 해당 노선에 투입될 열차의 물리적 특성 및 성능(제동)특성과 선로정보, 신호정보(최고운행속도) 등의 정보를 고려하여 열차의 이동을 물리적으로 모델링해야한다. 차량의 운동을 해석하기 위하여 차량은 하나의 질점으로 모델링하고, 그 질점은 한 방향으로만 직선 운동하는 자유도 모델이다. 차량의 견인력, 제동력, 운행저항력, 선로구배에 의한 중력 공헌력은 그 질점에 작용하는 힘으로 모델링 되어있다. 차량의 이동에 따른 모델링을 통해 산출된 열차 에너지는 고정폐색으로 운용되는 열차제어시스템의 폐색길이를 결정하는데 사용될 수 있다.

  • 본 논문에서는 운행중인 차량이 수집한 위치별 교통 이벤트 (지체, 정체, 사고, 노면상태 등)를 다른 운행 차량과 실시간으로 공유하여 안전운행 서비스를 제공하기 위한 방법을 제안한다. 운행중인 차량은 차량내의 스마트 기기나 전용 기기를 이용해 수집한 교통이벤트를 실시간으로 서버로 전송하고 서버는 전송된 교통이벤트를 위치별, 시간별로 색인하고 중복된 교통이벤트를 분류하여 저장한다. 이런 모든 과정은 처리 속도 향상을 위해 Spark의 RDD를 이용해서 인-메모리에서 처리된다.

  • It is important role that railway speed up plays in realizing an affluent society in future. Curved lines zone have crucial effects on the speed of train travel, at the curved lines zone, it requires to set cant and slack for safety running of train and comfortable ride of passengers, a compromise is therefore to accept a certain degree of cantdeflciencyforthevarioustrain. In this study, it was presented that effective maintenance method according to the investigation of cant value in radius of curvature and analysis safety running of train, calculation of lateral acceleration as cant deficiency, and we obtain the effect of speed up appling route alignment improvement parameter in curved lines zone.

  • The new developed train(HEMU-430X) faces running at high speed over 400km/h. But The Korea railway design code gives guidelines below 350km/h speed. Honam HighSpeed Railway was also designed based on the design standard below 350km/h. Existing infra structures have to be reviewed at high speed running and the design guideline for the speed over 350km/h should be prepared as soon as possible. This paper presents (1) the simulation results of composite steel girder bridge(Kaya Bridge of Seoul-Pusan HighSpeed Railway), (2) values measured at this bridge and the comparison with simulation results, and (3) the prediction of Yonjung bridge being constructed in Honam HighSpeed Railway.
