In this research, a distributed rainfall-runoff model based on physical kinematic wave was developed to simulate temporal and spatial distribution of flood discharge considering grid rainfall and grid based hydrological information. The developed model can simulate temporal change and spatial distribution of surface flow and sub-surface flow during flood period, and input parameters of ASCII format as pre-process can be extracted using GIS such as ArcGIS and ArcView. Output results of ASCII format as post-process can be created to express distribution of discharge in the watershed using GIS. The Namgang Dam Watershed was divided into square grids of 500m resolution and calculated by kinematic wave into an outlet through channel networks to review capability of the developed model. The model displayed precise results to be compared to the hydrograph.
An analytical forward modeling algorithm was developed for the efficient application to the geotechnical engineering in SASW (Spectral Analysis of Surface Waves) method. for the theoretical dispersion curve, the finite difference method using motion stress vector, which was proposed by Aki and Richards, was employed and verified with two earth models. For the stable and fast calculation, it was found that the model size depending on the frequency range is suitable $1.5\~2$ times bigger than the wavelength.

This paper introduces the nonlinear Stream Function Wave Theory for design waves efficiently to compute the wave energy and energy transport quantities and to analyze the effects of nonlinearities on them. The Stream Function Wave Theory was developed by Dean for case of the observed waves with assymmetric wave profiles and of the design waves with symmetric theoretical wave profiles. Dalrymple later improved the computational procedure by adding two Lagrangian constraints so that more efficient convergence of the iterative numerical method to a specified wave height and to a zero mean free surface displacement resulted. And the Stream Function coefficients are computed numerically by the improved Marquardt algorithm developed for this study. As the result of this study the effects of nonlinearities on the wave quantities of the average potential energy density, the average kinetic energy density result in overestimation by linear wave theory compared to the Stream Function Wave Theory and increase monotonically with decreasing $L^*/L_O$ and with increasing $H/H_B$. The effects of nonlinearities on the group velocity and the wavelength quantities result in underestimation by linear wave theory and increase monotonically with increasing $H/H_B$. Finally the effect of nonlinearity on the average total energy flux results in overestimation for shallow water waves and underestimation for deep water waves by linear wave theory.
A transient irregular wave was designed based on ISSC spectrum The designed wave was generated in the towing tank and ,the roll motion of a model was measured A method to predict the maximum roll motion, expected in the short-term sea state, was investigated with comparison of the theoretical and experimental results.

It is often assumed that the wave velocity at the bottom given by potential wave theory il the same as the wave velocity at the top of the turbulent boundary layer. This assumption is found to be the major cause of the error detected by recent elaborate theories and numerical models for the description of velocity profile near the sea bottom. A relationship is suggested between the potential velocity and the real boundary velocity. Based on this relation, the existing theories of Jonsson (1967) and Fredsoe (1984) are refined for the estimation of wave friction factor, and the computation results of the modified theories are favourably compared with the published laboratory results.

The very large vessels like VLCC and container ship have been built recently and those vessels have smaller structural strength in comparison with the other convectional skips. As a result the fatigue destruction of upper deck occurs a frequently due to the springing phenomenon at the encountering frequencies. In this study, the hydrodynamic loads are calculated by three-dimensional source distribution method with the translating and pulsating Green function. A ship is longitudinally divided into 23 sections and the added mass, damping and hydrodynamic force of each section is calculated. focusing only on the vertical motion. Stiffness matrix is calculated by the Euler beam theory. The calculation is carried out for Esso Osaka.

The hydrodynamic interaction of two floating bodies in waves freely floating or connected by a rigid link is studied by using a boundary element method in the frequency-domain. The exact two-body hydrodynamic coefficients of added mass, wave damping and exciting force are calculated from the radiation-diffraction potential solution of the improved Green integral equation associated with the free surface Green function. The irregular frequencies in the conventional Green integral equation make it difficult to predict the physical resonance of the fluid in the gap between two bodies floating side by side. However, the improved Green integral equation employed in this study is free of irregular frequencies and always yields the exact solution of the multi-body radiation-diffraction potential boundary value problem. The 6 degree-of-freedom motions of two bodies freely floating side by side or connected parallel by a rigid link have been calculated for the incident wave frequencies ranging from 0.1 to 5 radians per second in head, left and right bow quartering seas. The 6-component load of the rigid link have also been presented.

In the present paper, an infinite-depth unified theory is applied to the computation of the linear and second-order hydrodynamic forces on slender bodies. No forward speed is assumed, which is valid for some types of ships, like FPSOs and shuttle tankers. Strip theory solution, which is essential for the extension to theory is extended to unified theory, was obtained using NIIRD program developed at MIT. The linear theory is extended to the computation of the second-order mean-drift forces and moment. Furthermore, Aranha's formular is applied to the prediction of wave drift damping coefficients. From this study, it is proved that unified theory provides an accuracy comparable with 3D panel method for the second-order forces as well as the linear solution with much less computational effort.

MEMS accelerometer provides a low cost alternative in retrieving the acceleration signal for motion sensing. Theoretically, displacement can be calculated by double integrate the acceleration signal. However, in practical, it could not be done in straight forward manner due to several factors that exist in the real world. This experiment focuses on the processes from practical accelerometer signal acquisition till the result of double integration for low frequency vertical motion.
