The study was investigate the effect of quality of life of mothers in the postpartum period. This study was a descriptive research study of 113 women who lived in D metropolitan area within 6-8 weeks after birth, Data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 program ANOVA, t-test, Pearson's correlation analysis and multiple random analysis. Data collection was from August 2018 to September 2018. The results were as follows. The most influential factors on quality of life were parenting stress(${\beta}=-.646$, p =.000), fatigue(${\beta}=-.329$, p =.009). It is necessary to develop a nursing intervention program related to physical and mental health because maternal quality of life leads to lower quality of life when feeling emotional mood change such as emptiness and depression.

The use of natural environments to change lifestyle and health has been long recognized. In particular, forests, trees, and open space have been shown to promote mental health. In this study, we examined the effectiveness of the structured psychotherapeutic program using forest environment ("forest activity program") to improve the symptoms of nine patients with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) who were taking variable doses of antidepressants. We assessed the depressive symptoms, quality of life, and autonomic nerve regulation among the MDD patients. Hamilton Rating Scales for Depression (HRSD) scores significantly decreased after the forest therapy (13.56 vs. 5.56, p=0.003), and some subscores of Short Form 36 health survey questionnaire (SF-36) and heart rhythm coherence are improved as well. Combined with antidepressant pharmacotherapy, the structured psychotherapeutic program using forest environment showed an improved health status for MDD patients and thus has potential as an adjuvant treatment for MDD, especially for rehabilitation and relapse prevention.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between memory belief, depression and cognitive functioning for stroke patients. A total of 88 subjects were participated in this study and the questionnaire was composed with general characteristics and K-MoCA, Beck Depression Inventory(BDI), Memory Self Efficacy Qestionnaire(MSEQ), Memory Controllability Inventory(MCI). The results showed that, for the memory self efficacy by general characteristics, there were significant differences in terms of level of education, living and economic status, the number of onset of stroke (p<.05), the memory controllability showed significant differences in economic status (p<.05), and the depression showed significant differences in onset duration of stroke (p<.05), and the cognitive functioning showed significant differences in gender, age, education, living condition, and the number of onset of stroke (p<.05). In addition, there was a significant correlation between memory self efficacy and memory controllability, depression, and cognitive functioning (p<.05). Memory controllability was correlated with depression (p<.01), depression was correlated with cognitive functioning (p<.01). Memory self efficacy, memory controllability and depression were found to be factors, affecting the cognitive functioning (p<.05). Based on this results, it is recommended to develop a multifaceted rehabilitation program in order to induce the positive mood, to reduce the negative emotions such as depression and to promote the memory belief about recovery of cognitive functioning.
This study examined the relationship between children's academic stress and their sense of hopelessness. In order to expand the study on this relationship, special attention was given to the possible effects of moderators on children's emotional processing style as manifested in a depressed mood. The subjects were 424 $5^{th}$ and 6th graders(197boys and 227 girls) residing in Seoul City and Kyunggi Province, South Korea. It was found that the children's level of academic stress was significantly related to their sense of hopelessness. The results indicated that the higher the children's academic stress, the higher the levels of hopelessness they indicated. No significant effects from moderators as applied to a ruminative emotional processing style were found in the relationship between children's academic stress and their sense of hopelessness. In addition, children's reflective or distractive emotional processing styles were found to be a significant moderator in the relationship between their academic stress and hopelessness. These findings indicate that children's reflective or distractive emotional processing styles could function as a bumper for children who feel academic stress.
Objectives The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among circadian types, depressive mood and internet addiction and to identify the mediating effect of depressive mood between circadian types and internet addiction in Korean College Students. Methods A total of 2632 participants completed questionnaires, which included the Korean translation of the Composite Scale of Morningness (CSM), the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9), and the Korean version of the Internet Addiction Test (KIAT). Statistical analyses were done using correlation analysis, analysis of covariance and multiple linear regression. Results The CSM score was negatively associated with the PHQ-9 score (r = -0.226, p < 0.001) and the KIAT score (r = -0.218, p < 0.001). The eveningness group showed higher scores in depressive mood and internet addiction than the morningness group (p < 0.001). Depressive mood showed a partial mediating effect between circadian types and internet addiction (${\beta}=0.255$, p < 0.001). Conclusions Internet addiction was associated with circadian types and depressive mood. These results suggest that depression and circadian rhythm management would contribute to the prevention of internet addiction.
This study was conducted to verify the effects of socially prescribed perfectionism on depression as mediated by intolerance of uncertainty and either ruminating or reflective response styles, on as will as to find ways to effectively address depression as it presents in university students. For this purpose, 283 university students at the central region were assesed using data collected from the following surveys: the Center for Epidemiological Studies-Depression Scale(CES-D), the Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale(HMPS), the Intolerance of Uncertainty Scale(IUS), and the Response to Depressed Mood Questionnaire(RDQ) and that were used to collect data. The results of this study are as follows. First, there was a positive correlation between the Intolerance of uncertainty and the rumination response style to the uncertainty of socially prescribed perfectionism, but not correlation the reflective response mode. Second, with respect to the relationship between socially prescribed perfectionism and depression, intolerance of uncertainty was set as the primary mediator variable and the rumination response style were set as the secondary mediator variables. The results shown to have a significant mediating effects. However this mediating effect was not significant when, in order to verify the mediating effect, we set the secondary mediator variable as the reflective response style. These results suggest that to prevent depression that manifests as socially prescribed perfectionism, it may be effective to intervene with a focus on the intolerance of uncertainty and the rumination response style. Finally, the implications and limitations of the study are discussed based on the results.

Objectives : Depressive disorder and anxiety disorder frequently co-occur, even at sub-threshold level. This study aims to identify network structure of co-morbid depression and anxiety at symptom level in nonclinical population and to reveal the central symptoms and bridge symptoms of the co-morbidity. Methods : This study was based on 2022 Asan Youth Mental Health Screening. Patient health questionnaire (PHQ-9) and Generalized anxiety disorder scale (GAD-7) were used to assess depressive and anxiety symptoms of 810 young adult participants from community sample. Network structure of co-morbid depressive and anxiety symptoms was estimated by Isingfit model. Results : Depressed mood, Restlessness and Nervousness were the most central symptoms in the network. Bridge symptoms between anxiety and depression were Restlessness and Irritability. Conclusions : This study revealed key central symptoms and bridge symptoms of co-morbid depression and anxiety in nonclinical population and provided potential insight for treatment targets to reduce co-morbidity.

Objectives : This study was designed to investigate the prevalence of depressive symptoms in patients with breast cancer and to identify demographic variables and clinical characteristics impact on depressive symptoms and health related quality of life in patients with breast cancer in a university hospital. Methods : Fourty-one patients with breast cancer were selected, who had visited the department of General surgery of the Wonkwang University hospital with a diagnosis of breast cancer regularly during the period November, 2010-May, 2011. All of subjects were evaluated for the depression, anxiety and the health related quality of life with Beck Depression Inventory(BDI), anxiety subscale of Personality Assessment Inventory(PAI) and Short-Form 36 Health Survey-Korean version(SF-36-K). Patients were divided into depressive symptoms and non-depressive symptoms group according to the BDI score. We compared SF-36-K between two groups, and analized multiple regression with depression and health related quality of life as criterion variables and demographic and clinical characteristics. Results : The prevalence of depression in patients with breast cancer in a University hospital was 36.4%. Compared to the non-depression, depressed patients with breast cancer appeared significantly lower mean scores on six subscales in SF-36-K : Physical function(p<.01), Role-physical(p<.001), General health(p<.05), Social function(p<.001), Role-emotional(p<.001) and Mental health(p<.001). But there was no significant difference between two groups in Vitality and Bodily pain. Anxiety, level of education and presence of enforcement of chemotherapy(63.6%) were significant explanation variables for depressive symptoms. And type of surgery and age(55.8%) were significant explanation variables for health related quality of life. Conclusions : The prevalence of depressive symptoms in patients with breast cancer in a University hospital was 36%. The depressive symptoms had not only negative impact on the health related quality of life but also important explanation variable for health related quality of life. These results suggest that depressive symptoms in patients with breast cancer should be evaluated and treated for improving patient's health related quality of life.

Objectives: This study aimed to analyze causality among sleep apnea, depression and cognitive function in patients with obstructive sleep apnea. Methods: We reviewed the medical records of 105 patients with sleep apnea and snoring who underwent overnight polysomnography (PSG). We analyzed various biological data, sleep variables (sleep duration and percentage) and respiratory variables [arousal index (AI), periodic leg movement index (PLM index), snoring Index (SI), mean SpO2, minimum SpO2, apnea-hypopnea index (AHI), and respiratory disturbance index (RDI)]. We also analyzed various data by sleep, cognition, and mood related scales: Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI), Epworth sleepiness scale (ESS), snoring index by scale (SIS), Montreal Cognitive Assessment-Korean (Moca-K), Mini-mental State Examination-Korean (MMSE-K), clinical dementia rating (CDR), and Beck Depression Inventory (BDI). We analyzed causation among sleep, and respiratory, mood, and cognition related scales in obstructive sleep apnea patients. We analyzed the mediating effects of depression on sleep apnea patient cognition. Results: As Duration N1 increased and Total sleep time (TST) decreased, MOCA-K showed negative causality (p < 0.01). As BDI and supine RDI increased, causality was negatively related to MOCA-K (p < 0.01). As PSQI (p < 0.001) and SIS (p < 0.01) increased and as MMSE-K (p < 0.01) decreased, causality was positively related to BDI. BDI was found to mediate the effect of age on MOCA-K in patients with obstructive sleep apnea. Conclusion: Duration N1, total sleep time, BDI, and supine RDI were associated with cognitive function in obstructive sleep apnea patients. Depression measured by BDI partially mediated cognitive decline in obstructive sleep apnea patients.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the change in phytoncide intake in mood state and health-related quality of life menopausal women through an 8-week experiment. For the study, 41 subjects under 2 years after menopause in D and N districts in Seoul were targeted. consisting of three study points: pre-measurement (0week), intermediate (4week), and post-measurement (8week). Was used As a dependent variable of this study, mood status and health-related quality of life were set, and data were collected through three questionnaires: pre-measurement, intermediate measurement, and post-measurement. As for the analysis method, one-way ANOVA and post verification were performed. Derived result First, the phytoncide inhalation group of postmenopausal women showed statistically significant effects of reducing tension, depression, fatigue, chaos, and increasing vitality among the sub-factors of mood status compared to the control group. Second, the phytoncide inhalation group of postmenopausal women showed statistically significant increase in competence, mental well-being, stability, and vitality among the sub-factors of health-related quality of life compared to the control group.
