Optimal Design of the Safety Valve by Response Surface Method (반응표면법을 이용한 안전밸브의 최적화)

  • High pressure storage of the agent gas in fire suppression system was composed of tank, main valve and safety valve, which prevents the fracture of the high pressure storage. The safety valve has circular thin plate as fracture plate that was destroyed over fracture pressure. When inner pressure of the storage is reached the fracture pressure, the safety valve discharges gas and degrades simultaneously the inner pressure of the storage. There are design variables such as flow path diameter, inner diameter of the plastic packing ring, thickness of plate and fillet radius. In this variables, thickness of plate is set to be a value of 0.2mm. The main effect of variables on the inner pressure, has been decided using factorial design and statistical analysis. Therefore, the relation of variables are expressed by regression equation. It is disclosed results that the difference of fracture pressures between the equation and experiment has $2{\sim}5%$. Finally, using response surface method, the optimal design of the safety valve could be decided with safety pressure of 25MPa, where the fracture occurs on circular thin plate.

Optimum Design of a Coil Spring for Improving the Performance of a Spring -Operated Mechanism (스프링 조작기의 성능 개선을 위한 코일스프링의 최적 설계)

  • In this study, a release test bed is designed to evaluate the dynamic behaviors of a coil spring. From the release tests, the dynamic behaviors of a coil spring are analyzed. A lumped parameter spring model was established for numerical simulation of a spring. The design variables of a coil spring are optimized by using the design of experiments approach. Two-level factorial designs are used for the design optimization, and the primary effects of the design variables are analyzed. Based on the results of the interaction analysis and design sensitivity analysis, the level of the design variables is rearranged. Finally, the mixed-level factorial design is used for the optimum design process. According to the optimum design of the opening spring, the dynamic performance of the spring-operated mechanism increases by 2.90.

Study on Optimization and Skin Permeation of PIT Nanoemulsion Containing α-Bisabolol (α-Bisabolol을 함유한 PIT Nanoemulsion의 최적화 및 피부흡수연구)

  • The skin is divided into three parts: the epidermis, the dermis, and the subcutaneous fat, and the stratum corneum, which is located at the top of the epidermis, acts as a barrier that prevents drug delivery. Nanoemulsions are known to be effective in transdermal delivery of drugs through intercellular lipids because of their unique small particle size. In this study, phase inversion temperature (PIT) nanoemulsion containing α-bisabolol was optimized using response surface methodology (RSM) for effective skin absorption of α-bisabolol. As a preliminary experiment, the 25-2 fractional factorial design method and the 23 full factorial design method were performed. Box-Behnken design was performed based on the results of the factorial design method. The content of surfactant (6.3~12.6%), co-surfactant (5.2~7.8%) and α-bisabolol (0.5~5.0%) were used as factors, and the dependent variable was the particle size of the nanoemulsion. PIT nanoemulsion optimization was performed according to the RSM results, and as a result, the optimal nanoemulsion formulation conditions were predicted to be 10.4% surfactant content, 6.3% co-surfactant content, and 5.0% α-bisabolol content. As a result of the skin absorption test, the final skin absorption rate of the PIT nanoemulsion was 35.11±1.01%, and the final skin absorption rate of the general emulsion as a control was 28.25±1.69%, confirming that the skin absorption rate of the PIT nanoemulsion was better.

  • The effect of manufacturing parameters on friction characteristics of motorcycle break system was studied using a design of experiment. Such parameters conditions have an effect on the frictional factor such as applied load, sliding speed, and number of ventilated disk hole. However, it is difficult to know the mutual relation of these factors. In this study, the friction characteristics using design of experiment containing 3 elements were investigated for an optimal condition for the best motorcycle break system employing full factorial design. From this study, the result was shown that the applied load in frictional factors was the most important, next to sliding speed, number of ventilated disk hole.

  • Statistical analysis menus of MS Excel software, with powerful spreadsheet functions has not been modified since Excel 2000 Edition and its utilization is very low. To improve utilization of Excel menu for statistical analysis, this research compared outputs of Excel statistical menus and computed test statistics, and developed high-level macros. Outputs of Excel menus, both oneway layout and twoway layout, on real data are exactly same as the computed test statistics, and therefore, Excel menus for statistical analysis are reliable. Macros to provide results for Analysis of Variance with a block and multiple comparison of means are developed using Excel functions.

The Study about influence of immersiveness on PPL advertising in on-line game (몰입 정도가 온라인 게임 내 PPL 인지에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구)

  • This study is to examine relationship between immersiveness aspect and the recognition of garners who are exposed to PPL (Product Placement Advertisement) in online game. The frequency of exposure, the placement type of PPL, the perception under the threshold of consciousness and the interest at the product and knowledge about PPL have been widely known as the factors of effectiveness in PPL advertising. In this study, 'immersiveness' is newly introduced to investigate the effectiveness of PPL advertising due to the unique characteristics of game which easily leads to immersion. Control group is exposed to movie clip and experimental group to lacing online game. In conclusion, the deep immersion has reduced the perception level of user on PPL except the variable of PPL placement. This study suggests that how to design the PPL placement in game for enhancing marketing effect is all the more vital, in spite of the result that the player in high immersion cannot distinguish different images.

  • In developing an aircraft, configuration determination and requirement proofing depend on flight test results. Since the flight tests require much time and high cost, systematic flight test planning and analysis are needed to reduce cost and development time. This paper presents a desirability function approach to present an integrative measure of vibration levels at important positions and suggests a fractional factorial design which is one of the experimental design methods to help perform systematic flight tests. A method to perform flight tests in stages is also suggested to further reduce the number of flight tests.

Optimal Design of the Steel Wheel's Disc Hole Using Approximation Function (근사함수를 이용한 스틸휠의 디스크 홀의 최적화)

  • Wheel for passenger car support the car weight with tires, and they transmit rolling and braking power into the ground. Whittling away at wheel weight is more effective to boost fuel economy than lighting vehicle body structure. A shape of hole in disk is optimized for minimizing the weight of steel wheel. Pro/ENGINEER program is used for formulating the design model, and ANSYS package is selected for analyzing the design model. It has difficulties to interface these commercial software directly. For Combining both programs, response surface methodology is applied to construct approximation functions for maximum stresses and maximum displacements are obtained by full factorial design of five levels. This steel wheel is modeled in 14-inch diameter of rim, and wide parameter of hole in disk is only selected as design variable for reducing the weight of steel whee. PLBA(Pshenichny-Lim-Belegundu-Arora) algorithm, which used the second-order information in the direction finding problem and uses the active set strategy, is used for solving optimization problems.

  • Balanced arrays which are generalized orthogonal arrays, introduced by Chakravarti (1956) can be used to construct the fractional factorial designs. Especially for 2-level factorials, balanced arrays with strength 4 are identical to the resolution-V fractional designs. In this paper criteria for evaluation the degree of the orthogonality of balanced arrays of 2-levels with strength 4 are developed and some application methods of the suggested criteria are discussed. As a result, in this paper, we introduce the constructing methods of near orthogonal saturated balanced resolution-V fractional 2-level factorial designs.

  • 이 논문에서는 벨로우 스피닝 불량율 감소하기 위해 6 시그마 방법을 이용하여 전개하면서 Improve 단계에서 일반적으로 많이 사용하는 요인분석에 의한 배치방법을 대신 다꾸지 방법을 통한 실험계획법을 적용함으로 불량을 감소시키는 방법을 사용하였다.
