  • Non-equilibrium first order extrapolation boundary condition proposed by Guo et $al.^{(9)}$ proposed has a good application for complex geometries, a second order accuracy and a treatment on non-slip wall boundary condition easily. However it has a lack of the numerical stability from high Reynolds number. Guo et $al.^{(9)}$ substituted the density value of adjacent nodes for the density of boundary nodes. This procedure causes the numerical instability on the boundary. In this paper, we derived a procedure of density extrapolation and compared to previous results.

  • 본 논문에서는 임의 형태 영상 영역에 대한 새로운 변환 부호화 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법에서는 영상 영역을 구성하는 각 열의 화소들을 변환 블록의 상단으로 이동시킨 후, 비어 있는 부분을 각 열의 화소 평균값으로 외삽한다. 그리고 수직 방향 1차원 변환을 실행한 후 외삽된 부분의 변환 계수들을 삭제한다. 수평 방향 1차원 변환은 각 행의 변환 계수들을 변환 블록의 좌측단으로 이동시킨 후, 수직 방향 1차원 변환에서와 동일한 과정을 실행함으로써 이루어진다. 복호화를 위해서는 먼저 삭제된 변환계수들을 복원한 후에 수평 방향 1차원 역변환 과정을 수행하며, 역변환 계수들 중 복원된 부분의 계수들을 삭제한다. 그리고 수평방향의 1차원 역변환 과정은 수직 방향 1차원 역변환 과정과 동일한 방식으로 수행한다. 역변환으로 만들어진 재생 영상은 변환 계수와 함께 전송된 형태 정보를 이용하여 원 위치로 이동된다. 모의 실험 결과는 제안된 방법의 압축 성능이 낮은 비트율에서 특히 우수함을 보여준다.

  • 본 논문에서는 스테레오 영상을 이용하여 외삽 시점 영상 생성 시 발생하는 홀을 채우는 방법을 제안한다. 스테레오 영상에 3D 워핑을 이용하여 다수의 시점을 생성할 수 있다. 하지만 이 방법은 보이지 않는 시점에서의 영역을 완벽히 복원할 수 없기 때문에 필연적으로 홀이 발생한다. 홀을 채우기 위해 먼저 홀 영역의 경계를 Random Walks 알고리즘을 이용하여 전경과 배경으로 구분한다. 그리고 홀을 배경 성분에 해당하는 영역만을 이용하여 채우게 된다. 홀 채움 과정에서는 패치 내의 홀의 비율과 컬러와 깊이 영상의 텍스처에 대한 복잡도를 정의하고 패치 별로 우선순위를 계산하여 높은 순위의 패치로 홀을 채우게 된다. 실험 결과 제안하는 기법이 홀을 효과적으로 채우는 것을 확인하였다.

  • An algorithm on time limited signal extrapolation technique is presented where the total extrapolation process of iteration method is achieved by a single matrix operation. The proposed technique and its implementation has many advantages over iteration method in terms of computational saving and accuracy of the results. As an examples in this paper, appling the proposed technique to ultrasonic diagnosis-device, we prove the excellence of the proposed technique.

  • The integral equations used in electromagnetic fields theory can be used for scattering problems. We can obtain various characteristics of scatterer. Ie, power pattern, scattered field, by finding current distribution on the scatterer. In this paper, current distribution on polygonal cylinder is obtained using integral equations in 2 dimension. For numerical aualysis, the moment method is used with pulse function as a basis function and integral equation is used with extrapolation method, which saves cpu time.

Extending Ionospheric Correction Coverage Area by using Extrapolation Methods (외삽기법을 이용한 전리층 보정정보 영역 확장)

  • The coverage area of GNSS regional ionospheric correction model is mainly determined by the disribution of GNSS ground monitoring stations. Outside the coverage area, GNSS users may receive ionospheric correction signals but the correction does not contain valid correction information. Extrapolation of the correction information can extend the coverage area to some extent. Three interpolation methods, Kriging, biharmonic spline and cubic spline, are tested to evaluate the extrapolation accuracy of the ionospheric delay corrections outside the correction coverage area. IGS (International GNSS Service) ionosphere map data is used to simulate the corrections and to compute the extrapolation error statistics. Among the three methods, biharmonic method yields the best accuracy. The estimation error has a high value during Spring and Fall. The error has a high value in South and East sides and has a low value in North side.

Nonlinear Extrapolation Based Image Restoration Using Region Classification (지역 분할을 통한 비선형 외삽법 기반 영상 복원 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose a locally adaptive image restoration method based on nonlinear extrapolation in frequency domain. In general, the conventional method causes ringing artifacts on the object boundary. To solve this problem, we introduce an improved restoration method which considers textures of an image block. In the proposed method, a blurred image is divided into several blocks, and each block is classified into three groups; simple, one edge, and complex blocks according to the contained texture. Depending on the classification result, adaptive nonlinear extrapolation is applied to each block in a blurred image. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can achieve higher quality image in both subjective and objective views as compared with the conventional method.

Grid Convergence on Surface Pressure Distribution over the RAE-A Wing-Body Configuration (RAE-A 날개-동체 형상의 압력 분포에 대한 격자 수렴성 연구)

  • Surface pressure distributions over the RAE-A wing-body configuration were investigated and the grid convergence along the streamwise, spanwise, and circumferential directions was numerically studied. Flow analysis in subsonic and transonic conditions was conducted using the $k-{\omega}$ Wilcox-Durbin+ turbulence model. Surface pressure distributions for subsonic flows were well matched, but those for transonic shocked flows showed a little discrepancy with the experimental data. A cubic spline extrapolation method was applied in order to investigate the grid convergence. This method presented that the grid resolution in the circumferential direction is the most important grid parameter. A refined grid system was made based on the grid convergence study and provided more accurate prediction, especially on the symmetric body surface of RAE-A configuration.

Eddy Current Testing using Encircling Differential Probe for Research Reactor Fuel Rods (외삽 차동형 탐촉자를 사용한 연구로용 핵연료봉의 와전류탐상)

  • The cladding area of HANARO Research Reactor fuel rods should be checked not to have any defects larger than the size required at QA documents by using eddy torrent testing method doting fabrication process. To apply eddy current testing inspection to the fuel rods, encircling differential probes and standard specimen were designed and fabricated. The impedance of the fabricated probes was measured with impedance analyzer in order to cheek that the probe has a suitable impedance for the inspection frequency, and with this probe and MIZ-40A eddy current equipment, the detectability of this probes was investigated. The developed probes could detect artificial notch with 2mm length 10% depth of cladding thickness in cladding area. In addition, the probe was successfully applied to detect the defects in cladding area doting fabrication of the research reactor rods.
