Recently, the fringe-field switching (FFS) mode in liquid crystal displays has been used mainly for high image quality and high-resolution liquid crystal displays (LCDs). In this review paper, the fundamental switching principle of the FFS mode, with its excellence over other LC modes in electro-optic performance, will be described. In addition, the development history, present technical issues, and future of the FFS LCD will be discussed.

Korea is recognized as the most advanced nation in regards to capabilities or environments of informatization throughout the world. Nevertheless, Korea brings on itself such stigmas as a nation vulnerable to information security. Now the globe ushered in an era requiring political balances. Yet, issues of legislative supports or system adjustments for information security policies are always pushed back on the priority list. There is a need to face problems at the center of changes departing from such frames. In order to establish a proper system for information security policies, the most urgent issues are reviews of concepts and reorganizations of systems, and then to legislate information security polities by being harmonious with public opinions. This paper is to remind what measures are needed to improve the system of priority policies depending on public backgrounds and why such measures are needed. Furthermore, the paper suggests a new legislation, 'Information Security Policy Act' as one of the specific measures.

The purpose of this study is to look into the influence of salesperson's human networking and knowledge on its job in an insurance company in its performances and to suggest how to effectively manage and develop salespersons. For this study, 305 salespersons participated in a questionnaire survey and we used T-TEST to analyze the data. The results are as follows. Its performance is positively influenced by salesperson's networking and knowledge on its job. In term of moderating effect on the attitude for its job, making efforts to organize networking was rejected, however the attitude for retaining their networking positively affected to the performance. As a result, the higher the level of salesperson's knowledge and networking is the higher its performance. To increase competitiveness, an insurance company has a strategy for the support to organize networking and the training of salespersons to become high performers.

The National Welfare Pension Act of 1973 and the National Pension Act of 1986 were legislated for an anticipative response to future population ageing. But the enforcement of these acts gained momentum as they became effective tools to realize the present potential demographic bonus. This article investigates the history related to the enactment of these two acts, focusing on these acts' role in raising funds managed by the government (National Investment Fund and National Housing Fund). This article shows the historical origin of full-dress debates on the sustainability of the National Pension Fund.

The Korean Astronaut Project(KAP) aims to make the first Korean astronaut fly and take part in space activities in the International Space Station(ISS) in April 2008. KAP was on the purpose of studying the requirement to master manned space technologies as part of the long-term basic plan for national space development. However, people criticized that Ms. Yi was a 'space tourist' not an 'astronaut' because KAP was a program for pride, prestige in 21c's new space race, not specifically science and technology. The government emphasized that Yi carried out her 15 experiments in ISS very competently. In contrast people devaluated Yi's space experiments as below the level, though some of them are enough meaningful to be published on SCI journals. Why did the government fail to make people take Ms. Yi as an astronaut? I answer to this question using the notion of "Network Analysis" based on Actor-Network Theory(ANT).

When it is viewed with hierarchy as a constructional element of education of subject-matter, the objectives model of Tyler's proposed that educational objectives are the most important element which should be decided first in rotational process of curriculum. This is an answer for question of the reason of teaching computer in school and the most important foundation for upright establishing of computer education. In this study we analyzed general objectives and objectives of subject relevant to computer in the 7th curriculum according to objective resources and searched about What is desirable objectives of computer subject according to Tyler's objective resources. The desirable objectives of computer subject will be basic soil for establishing computer education and will contribute to development of systematic and unified computer curriculum.

It is necessary for young children to integrate the sense of sight, hearing, touch, etc. for developing their emotion and cognition. Thanks to Information and Communication Technology (ICT) development, young children have more opportunities to use various senses in learning process. However, ICT learning method is more focusing on the sense of sight and hearing, and lacks of integrated recognition and this fact leads to the reason why ICT can not be used as a main education tool. Therefore, this study evaluated the influence of wUbi-Pen(haptic device) on cognition using a computer puzzle program. The results show that young children using a haptic pen have greater intention and performance in object assembly, mazes, picture completion in K-WPPSI test than those of non-using haptic pen. This implies that haptic function should be considered in ICT material and indeed useful in various cognition-related symptoms and diseases.

Up to recently the harmonic generation has deteriorated the quality of electricity and affected the performance on the electrical installation including OA, FA, IT devices and so on. Some studies of harmonic affects in diagnosis and the cause of accident has not done by the experimental data of harmonic source but merely by presumption according to qualitative analysis. So, in order to research the harmonic affect on the electrical installation according to quantitative analysis and gather reliable data over and over again, it is necessary to develop an AC power source which is capable of generating some harmonics. In this paper, we described about realization of AC power source which can produce and compose harmonics for the analysis of accident due to harmonics.

모든 과학기술지식은 객관성을 지닌 관찰과 실험과 측정에 의해서 이루어진다. 이렇게함으로써 과학기술지식은 재현성과 영구성을 가져오게 되며, 올바른 전승과 누적적 발전을 가져오는데 이 과학기술지식의 질서체계를 유지하는데 근본적인 역할을 하는 것이 표준이다. 시간, 길이, 온도, 무게 등의 기본 측정단위와 광속, 중력 등의 물리화학적 상수, 법정계량단위, 각종 공업 규격, 안정 규정 등 수 없이 많은 표준은 효과적인 공동 인식과 객관적 판단의 기준으로 활용되고 있다. 현대의 과학기술이 다양하게 발전하고 이에 따라 우리의 생활도 더욱 복잡한 구조를 이루면서 표준에 대한 필요성도 더욱 높아가고 있다. 표준에 대한 깊은 생각없이도 우리는 자동차에 주유할때 표준단위를 통해 원하는 분량을 말하며, 카메라의 필름 종류를 선택할 때도 국제표준기구(ISO: International Standards Organization)의 규격을 사용하는데 익숙해져 있다. 이렇게 표준은 우리 일상생활과 밀접한 관계에 있으나 소비자 입장에서는 그 가치를 절실히 느끼지 못한 것이 사실이며 표준이 없음으로 해서 일어나는 불편과 혼란에 대해서는 무관심한 것이 사실이다. 일상생활에서 일어나는 표준의 역할을 우리가 잘 이해한다면 표준이 왜 필요한가를 쉽게 인식하게 될 것이다. 최근 정보산업이 새로운 물결로 사회전반에 영향을 미치고 있으며 이에 따라 정보의 수집, 가공, 저장 및 배포의 처리 과정에서도 제반 표준화의 필요성이 크게 대두되었다. 그 결과로 최근 10여년간에 수백종의 기술기준, 지침서 및 기본/기능 표준규격이 제정되어 왔다. 이와 같이 어떤 특별한 영역에서의 표준에 대한 요구가 있을 때 관련 규격이 제정되게 된다. 표준의 제정을 위한 다음 단계는 그 주제에 관한 표준(또는 규격)개발에 관심을 가진 사람들이 모이는 일일 것이다. 통계분야에서도 몇가지 표준화 활동이 ISO 를 중심으로 진행되고 있다. 예를 들면 실험과 검증 결과의 표현과 해석, 표본추출 방법 등에 관한 것으로 이들은 통계의 응용분야에서 꼭 필요한 표준이다. 구체적인 예로서 우리나라 국민의 표준체위값을 설정하기 위하여 측정조사할 때 측정방법 뿐 아니라 표본추출 방법과 통계자료 처리과정의 표준화가 이루어 지지 않는다면 각 기관에서 조사 발표하는 체위관계 자료가 상이하여 국가기관의 통계자료에 대한 신뢰성이 저하되고 통계값을 이용하여 의류, 신발 등의 제품을 제조하는 산업계에 혼란을 야기시킬 수 있다. 본 고에서는 ISO의 활동을 정보처리 분야에 초점을 맞춰 간략하게 설명하고 통계분야의 국제 활동을 비전문가인 필자들이 아는대로 소개하는 한편 국내활동의 필요성을 강조하여 관련 기관, 학계 및 산업계 관련전문가들의 ISO 국내활동 참여를 제의하고자 한다.

제지공장은 에너지 다소비 업종이며 고도의 장치산업이기 때문에 초지 설비의 효과적 운영을 통한 생산성 극대화가 경제성과 직결되어 었다. 또한 24시간 연속생산을 하는 초지 설비로 소비자가 선호하는 품질의 종이를 생산하기 위해서는 공정의 안정성 이 매우 중요하다. 이는 공정의 불안정화는 생산제품의 품질 변화를 유발함으로써 균일 성을 저하시키는 악영향을 미치기 때문이다. 제지 공정의 안정화를 저해하는 인자에는 지절, 지종 변화, 조업중단, 조업재개 둥과 공정의 특성상 수반되는 돌발사태 등이 있을 수 있다. 이들 인자 가운데 가장 심각하게 공정의 안정성을 악화시키는 것은 지절의 발 생이라 할 수 있다. 지절이 발생되면 생산성 저하 등의 여러 문제점이 발생하기도 하지 만 다량의 파지가 발생되기 때문에 공정 안정성 면에서 볼 때에도 부득이하게 생성된 다량의 파지를 공정에 재투입하기 위해 재해리해야하므로 많은 양의 백수가 소모되며 이에 따라 예기치 않은 공정 백수의 사용으로 전체 백수계에 갑작스런 변동이 생기게 된다. 백수가 파지의 해리에 사용됨에 따라 공정 내에는 추가적인 청수가 공급되어야 하므로 전체적으로는 청수의 사용량도 늘어난다. 또한 증가된 파지의 재사용도 대부분 의 공장에서 broke chest의 용량이 한정되어 있으므로 이의 적절한 컨트롤은 중요하다. 더욱이 점차 공정이 고폐쇄화됨에 따라 공정 컨트롤에 대한 여유가 적으므로 백수와 공정의 관리는 점차 어려워지고 있다. 공정 시율레이션은 현존하는 공정을 수학적으로 모델화하여 이를 컴퓨터 하드 왜어를 이용해 실제 공장에서 일어나는 상황을 모사하는 것이다. 이러한 공정 모사는 새로운 공장을 설계하기 전에 타당성 조사와 여러 가지 사례조사를 실시할 때, 기존 공 장의 개조나 증설 또는 기존 공장의 운전조건을 실제로 변경하기 전에도 미리 모사를 함으로써 실제 시험 운전을 하는 경우 보다 많은 비용과 시간을 절약할 수 있다. 본 연 구는 백상지 생산 공정 설계도면을 참고하여 상용 시율레이터로 시율레이션 모델을 구 축하고 이를 기반으로 지절 상황을 모사하였으며, 지절 후의 공정 불안정화 상황을 파 악하였다. 또한 이러한 상황의 대책을 강구하기 위해 다양한 공정 조절 방안을 시율레이션 모댈에 적용하여 그 결과를 해석하였다.
