A Survey Study on Online Learning Quality Satisfaction in Dental Hygiene Students (치위생(학)과 학생의 온라인 수업 질에 대한 만족도 조사 연구)

  • This study was aimed to grasp online learning quality satisfaction in Dental Hygiene students. A survey was conducted targeting finally 228 dental hygiene students at a university in Gangwon Province from February 3, 2021 to February 17. As a result of analysis, the online class satisfaction by good instruction component was lower overall than importance. The learning environment satisfaction was lower than its importance. A difference between importance and satisfaction with online learning by detailed good instruction component showed a relatively big difference in systematic class, online learning environment, ability to convey the class contents. The need for online learning content was high in teaching material and VOD. The class operation type satisfaction was high in a non-real time class. Accordingly, a continuous effort is conceivably necessary for improving quality given the teaching-design establishment of online learning.

  • In this paper, we apply the next generation Internet Broadcasting Move Picture solution, FlashVideo has been designed and implemented. Currently being broadcast in the field to compress HD video in real time, as well as live Internet VOD services are available through the online system, the Internet LIVE broadcast and VOD service easy to operate and UCC services that support the solution. VOD video cameras and in real time using H264 CORECODEC to compress MPEC4, WMV, and real-time video streaming on the Internet, and phone system that supports the first, real-time recording of camera images featured nation's first real-time encoder system (Real time encoder system) is, Web and smart environment suitable for supporting the latest CORECODEC technology and software products. Second, the video can be played in MP4 player and customize your chat, and customizing is a possible two-way Internet Broadcasting System. Third, CMS (Contents Management System) feature video contents and course management contents in real time via the Android phone and iPhone streaming service is available.

  • A Viedo-on-Demand(VOD) service is a multimedia service that is realized by the rapid advance of computer and data communication techmologies. Basically, a VOD system is composed of a server and a number fo clients.The server stores and manages a large amount of digital moving picture data. Each slient sends an on-line requwet to the server and receives data for real-time displying. Many researches are performed on a VOD server using hard disks for the permanent video fata storage. However, a hard disk is less reliable and requires more storage cost than a massive storage device. Due to these resasons, a multi-level VOD system is proposed for using teh jukeboxes of optical disks as the permanent video storage,device. In this paper, we prpose the necessary software modules and protocols between the server and its clients for the implementation of the multi-level VOD server.

An Improvement of Interoperability for HD-Class VOD Content Management System Based on H.264 (H.264 기반 HD급 VOD 콘텐츠관리시스템 상호운용성 개선)

  • Recently, although the requirement of quality of VOD content has been transferred upto the class of HD, conventional management systems characterized by OS dependency are truly limited in quality of video image, stability, and compatibility of network environments. In addition most of the content management systems realize very limited capabilities for the real affairs of content management and distribution services in such an OS dependent environment. In this paper, we propose a new scheme of HD-Class VOD Content Management System to solve these problems. We design and implement the proposed system based on open sources by using H.264 video compression method. The proposed system offers high quality content management method based on opened systems and independent on-line distribution method so that it can be realized as an integrated management scheme for VOD contents. Moreover, our system solves the problems of occasional cutting-down video, small screen, and poor image quality that exist in the conventional wmv-type CMS. According to the result of performance evaluation, our system maintains sufficient performance and tolerence for the case of large scale HD content operations or fabrications. We expect that the proposed integrated DB scheme will especially be effective when the content management applications are changed from Internet Web environments to mobile terminal environments.

  • This paper indicates limitations of the existing VOD(Video on Demand)-based on-line education systems and presents the design and implementation of Education on Demand (EOD) system as an alternative. EOD system is based on meta information expressed in XML and component technology. Overall system consists of authoring tool. contents server, learning policy system and contents viewer. which are utilized throughout the learning contents life-cycle. EOD system enables automated contents management using meta information exchange methodology that is conformant to the SCORM meta data presentation scheme. In addition, integrated management of interaction and feedback information along with the learning policy system provides customized learning guide for each individual learner. With the development of EOD system, this paper discusses about advanced on-line education system which surpasses existing content-providing-only systems.

Challenges of VOD Market of Korean Film Industry: Legislative and Policy Alternatives to Improve its Distribution Structure (국내 영화 온라인 부가시장의 유통구조 합리화 방안)

  • With the advancement of the digital convergence of content and platform, Korean film industry sees good opportunities of maximizing the profits and increased distribution opportunities by independent film makers. Nevertheless, the domestic film market almost entirely relies on the box office sales, which seems to be caused by the stagnation of new additional copyright market. The study aims to address the following problems: First, information asymmetry of the revenues to which the contents providers and the service providers are exposed leads to the distrust among digital film contents businesses and the disadvantages to film makers and investors, in particular. Secondly, the VOD(Video on Demand) market of film industry is adversely affected by the illegal uploads and downloads of film contents, which harms the formation of paid additional market. Based on the examination of current legislation and policy options addressing these issues, the study suggests legislative accomodations and cultural industry policy alternatives to promote the additional market of film industry.

Satisfaction Survey on Video Lectures using the Metaversity App (메타버시티 앱을 이용한 동영상 강의 만족도 조사)

  • Recently, Metaverse technology has emerged as an important topic in various fields. Metaverse refers to a three-dimensional virtual space in which social and economic activities similar to the real world are possible. Among the 235 third-year students who applied the Metaversity app in the radiology department of this university from September to December 2023, 200 participated in a survey to determine the difference in student response and satisfaction when applying the Metaversity app. analyzed. First, the most satisfactory VOD viewing method was viewing through the Metaversity app, followed by viewing through the LMS. Second, 'I think online videos are appropriate for holiday reinforcement.' showed the highest score at 4.35±0.60, 'I want face-to-face classes and online classes to be held simultaneously.' was 4.25±0.87, and 'I think meta. 'I watched it well through the Metaversity app' was the lowest at 4.10±0.30, and 'VOD viewing through the Metaversity app was used appropriately in class' was the lowest at 3.99±0.75. Also, there was no significant difference in the response to the teaching method (p>0.05). Third, in terms of satisfaction with VOD viewing using the Metaversity app, 'Applying the Metaversity app was interesting and fun' ranked the highest at 4.24±0.88. The score was high, with 'Better improvement is needed to actively utilize the metaversity app' at 4.00±0.45, and 'I hope the metaversity app is implemented in other remote classes' at 3.77±0.88. appear. 'VOD classes through the Metaversity app are better than the existing LMS method.' was found to be 3.44±0.66. Additionally, there was no significant difference in satisfaction with classes according to age and gender (p>0.05). The correlation between response and satisfaction with the metaversity app is 0.601, which can be considered very significant (p>0.001). As a limitation of this study, although we surveyed students' satisfaction with using the Metaversity app, we were unable to investigate the satisfaction of instructors who interact with students. In the future, we did not consider the instructor's satisfaction in classes using the Metaversity app. Research must be conducted, and universities must have institutional support and continued interest until metaversity apps are selected and used to prepare for distance learning.
