An Exploration of Interaction Factors and Analysis on Interaction-Level of Synchronous Online Education in University (대학 실시간 온라인 교육에서의 상호작용 요소 탐색과 수준 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore what are the interactive factors of synchronous online education in university and identify the level of interaction. This study used mixed research method. As a result of the interaction level, it was recognized that face-to-face education could be more interactive than synchronous online education. Synchronous online education could have better interactive between instructor and learner, and among learners than asynchronous online education. Factors which influencing the interaction were as follows: small group activities and scaffolding, diversification of communication channels and integration of learner's question in learning content. Detrimental elements were distance felt between instructor and learners, low intimacy among learners, content-focused lecture, restrictions on non-verbal communication, unstable systems and misusing microphones. The necessary factors to promote interaction are planning interactive class activities, etc. Based on the results, it was to suggest what kinds of efforts are needed to make interaction more effective in terms of teaching and learning method & activity, tool & system, and environment.

A Case Study on the Effect of Online Cooperative Learning applied in Accounting Class (온라인 협력학습 회계수업 적용방안 및 효과에 관한 사례연구)

  • This study tried to explore factors for improving academic achievement in online non-face-to-face education based on the survey results of a University's online cooperative learning Q&A. Due to the Corona situation, both professors and learners can easily feel psychological isolation due to the implementation of all non-face-to-face online classes. As one of the methods, it was intended to suggest the direction of future education to various teachers and learners by sharing class cases in which the online cooperative learning methodology was applied. Previous studies on non-face-to-face online learning, online cooperative learning, and learning promotion method were reviewed, and the online Q&A method was adopted as a specific learning promotion method to conduct research. In the Q&A process, learners were given an opportunity to check their learning content, share knowledge and communicate, and performance evaluation-related factors such as guaranteeing anonymity of the questioner and answerer, improvement points system, and absolute evaluation were asked. As a result of the survey analysis, it was found that they are the success factors of online cooperative learning. It is a small change that can be applied in practice in the future where online non-face-to-face learning is likely to continue, but by sharing meaningful cases of application of teaching methodologies, both professors and learners being motivated and actively involved in. It is expected that we will be able to suggest methods and directions for improving skills together by changing and supplementing the learning field.

A Study on the Current Status and Improvement of Online Classes for Students with Developmental Disabilities during the COVID-19 Pandemic -in chungbuk- (코로나19 상황 속 발달 장애 학생의 온라인 학습 실태와 개선방안 -충북지역을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the status of rights for online learning of students with developmental disabilities in the COVID-19 situation and suggest plans to promote the rights focusing on parents with children with disabilities. This research conducted the mixed method, which utilizes the survey of 200 parents with children in chungbuk, who have developmental disabilities, and FGI of six parents. The survey analysis shows that 50.5% of the respondents could not support their children due to telecommuting. The most urgent support system for learning assistance was identified as support for assistive personnel. As a result of the analysis of FGI, two categories of "status of online classes in the COVID-19," "improving non-contact learning environment considering the nurturing environment," "diversifying teaching methods such as video classes," "introducing of a contextual assessment," and "enhancing health support." Based on these findings, the study proposed to review legal grounds for online classes for disabled students, expand the dispatch of learning support personnel and prepare plans to promote the online learning environment.

Digital Content to Improve Artificial Intelligence Literacy Ability

  • This study aims to design and develop effective digital contents to improve the ability for artificial intelligence literacy. First, we defined AI literacy and analyzed the competencies required for artificial intelligence literacy. After selecting the educational elements for AI ability, we composed 10 educational programs. To confirm the appropriateness of designed contents, we verified through content validity test by 10 experts. The CVI value was over 0.75, which was highly valid. The developed content was installed on the online system and applied to 55 AI beginners for 4 weeks. The learners showed a positive result of at least 3.85 in the items of content difficulty, understanding, effectiveness, and learning challenge. As a result of this analysis, we can see that the developed content is positive for helping many people understand AI and improving AI literacy.

Relationship between General Characteristics, Learning Flow, Self-Directedness and Learner Satisfaction of Medical Students in Online Learning Environment (온라인 학습환경에서 의과대학생의 일반적 특성, 학습몰입, 자기주도성, 학습만족도간의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze relationship between general characteristics of learners and learner-related variables such as learning flow, self-directedness and learner satisfaction, thereby find out effective online teaching methods and provide the necessary basic data for improving learning satisfaction. A total of 473 students of medical school in C region were the subjects of this study and surveyed for research in a self-reporting form. According to the study, proportion of 31 to 40 minutes (38.9%) of learning engaged time was the highest, 65.5% of the learners studied regularly, more than those who studied irregularly(34.5%), and the higher the grade, the higher the percentage of learners who studied regularly. Learning flow averaged 4.03 (±0.86), self-directedness averaged 4.49 (±0.97), and learner satisfaction averaged 4.38 (±1.01). There were significant differences in learning flow, self-directedness and learner satisfaction according to grade, learning engaged time, and learning regularity. the factors affecting learner satisfaction were grade, learning flow, and self-directedness, with 72.5% adjusted R-squared. This study is expected to be used to establish an online learning management system to improve learning satisfaction by identifying variables related to learning satisfaction in the online learning environment of medical students.

Inquiry based Online Contents Development for Elementary Science Class (초등학교 과학교과의 온라인 탐구형 콘텐츠 개발)

  • This study is to design, develope, and deploy of e-learning inquiry based content in elementary science class. First, this study analyzed related literature review, case studies, and inquiry based class models for seeking better applicable design and development modes. From focus group meeting, experts discussed the inquiry content design ideas for elementary students for science class. This study finally established its own inquiry design mode for online science class with the flow of understanding of problem, sep up hypothesis, problem solving, and solution analysis. The developed content was deployed in real classroom setting to see how students received the contents and how well they processed the learning activities. We found that inquiry based online content, especially when applied to science subject, can be effective in students interests and their motivations. We also observed that there were a few managerial errors such as detailed lesson guidance and tutor support for students activities. This study concluded that inquiry based online contents should be designed considering students interests based on learning subjects and also developed in terms of students interests and strong motivation as well. We suggest that related research should be expanded toward to other subject than science and various students age groups.

A Study on Design and Implementation of Digital Content for Education of e-Commerce (전자상거래 교육을 위한 디지털 콘텐츠 설계 및 구현에 관한 연구)

  • Through the development of the Internet and multimedia systems, usage of cyber education with multimedia contents is increasing. On-line education differs from face-to-face education in that it overcomes the limits of the time and space, and supports a repeated self study at the student's study level while using several media and educational contents. In this paper, we will design and implement e-commerce educational content which is effective for students and useful for the process of cyber education. In addition, we will produce statistics from a questionnaire which questioned students on the effectiveness of the content.

  • 인터넷 활용 보급과 초고속 통신망의 확대는 능동적 학습, 상호작용적 학습, 협력학습 등의 원리들을 구현할 수 있다는 점에서 그 교육적 가치는 매우 높다. 즉, 개방적이며 상호작용적인 특성을 지니는 교육 체제로의 변화와 함께 우리들의 학습에 융합시킬 수 있는 컨텐츠가 필요하다. 본 연구의 목적은 학습자 중심의 자기주도적 공학교육 컨텐츠 개발에 대한 실질적인 방법을 제시하고자 한다. 교육 패러다임의 변화로 인하여 온 오프라인 컨텐츠의 활용이 높아지고 있으며 온라인학습을 통한 교수학습의 용이성과 오프라인을 통한 직접적 학습 피드백, 팀플레이 자료구성 및 발표 등의 컨텐츠가 추가적으로 필요하다. 또한, 기본적인 공학교육에 바탕하여 최신 정보에 대해 주도적이며 자발적인 학습과정을 통해 알아보고 그 정보의 분석과 발표를 통하여 효율적인 학습효과를 얻을 수 있다. 결론적으로, 정부에서의 국내 공학교육의 재정적인 지원 및 공학교육에 대한 대학 간의 교류를 더 마련해야하며 꾸준한 지원 및 교수학습의 방법과 전략에 대한 세부적인 연구와 개발이 필요하다고 본다.
