Study on Consumer Problems Related to Use of Online Game Services by Type and Age (온라인게임 서비스 이용 소비자의 연령별.유형별 소비자문제 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the types of consumer problems involving the use of online game services in Korea. This study analyzed the consumer damage cases by age and type that were reported to the Korea Consumer Protection Board (KCPB). The results of this study are as follows: The online game complaints varied by age. In the case of children, most complaints involved phone charging online game fees without parents' consent. There were similarities in the victimization of teens and children according to reason for complaint, handling result and type of damage. However, based on method of charging, mobile phone and credit card payments were causes in the case of teen victimization. Meanwhile, complaints among adults showed more complexity than the previous two groups such as cases relating to online game companies illegally seizing game items and game accounts, and charging fees for unused services caused by identity theft. By type of charging method, most complaints involved phone and mobile phone payments. According to the analysis result of online game victims, the monetary damage of consumers did not differ among socio-demographic variables such as age, residence, gender and occupation but there was difference in the method of charging. In the handling period, differences could be seen by age, year, gender and type of damage.

  • 컴퓨터 게임의 발달은 오프라인 PC 게임에서 인터넷의 보급으로 인해 온라인 게임으로 발전하였다. 그 후 인터넷 환경은 유선 환경뿐만 아니라 무선 환경에서도 무선 단말기를 이용하여 게임 서비스가 가능한 수준에 이르렀다. 그러나 적은 메모리와 낮은 수준의 처리능력을 가지고 있는 제한적인 모바일 환경의 특성으로 유선 인터넷에서와 같이 멀티미디어를 포함한 다양한 형태의 정보제공 및 인터렉티브한 모바일 게임이 어려운 현실이다. 본 논문에서는 WAP(Wireless Application Protocol)을 기반으로 하여 다운로드 솔루션을 채택한 GVM(General Virtual Machine) 상에서 실행될 수 있는 모바일 게임을 설계하고 MobileC 언어를 사용하여 제작하였다. 또한, 모바일 게임을 설계하고 제작하는 과정을 통해서 단말기의 제한적인 실행환경에서 최대한의 효과를 나타낼 수 있는 개발 모델을 제시하고자 한다. GVM은 무선 단말기 상에서 동적인 응용프로그램을 실행할 수 있는 가상기계 플랫폼이다.

  • 오늘날 스마트 시대의 새로운 소프트웨어 페러다임으로 변화하고 있는 IT 산업의 환경에서 소프트웨어를 사용하는 사용자와 공급하는 개발자 모두 품질 향상에 대한 중요성과 복잡성은 더욱 강조되어 가고 있다. 특히, 국내 게임시장의 절대적 시장점유율을 보이고 있는 온라인 게임의 경우 게임 사용자들과의 지속적인 관계 유지를 필요로 하는 서비스 제품이기 때문에 높은 수준의 품질보증이 절대적으로 필요하다. 본 연구는 이와 같은 필요성에 따라 게임 품질관리를 위한 정량적/정성적 게임성 평가 항목을 연구하여 이를 기반으로 한 게임성을 평가하기 위한 평가 모델을 제시한다.

  • 게임 산업은 기술의 발전과 비대면 서비스 수요 증가로 해마다 발전하고 있다. 본 연구는 사용자들의 수요를 조사하기 위하여 대중성이 가장 높은 온라인 게임 플랫폼에서 이용 시간이 많은 게임 정보를 확인하였다. HTML 파싱(parsing) 라이브러리를 통해 해당 게임들의 리뷰를 크롤링하여 엑셀 파일로 데이터베이스화하였고, 자연어 처리 라이브러리를 활용하여 데이터를 정제하였다. 총 5개 장르에 대하여 분석한 결과 각 장르에 해당하는 대표적인 키워드를 확인할 수 있었다. 취득한 키워드는 범용 시각화 패키지를 활용하여 워드 클라우드 형태로 한눈에 알아볼 수 있도록 시각화하였다.

An Efficient Load Balanced Cost Calculation Scheme for QoS Routing in On-line Game Service (온라인 게임에서 QoS 라우팅을 위한 부하균등 비용산정 방식)

  • An efficient QoS routing scheme for improving on-line games services needs to find a path that satisfies a given noS requirements while consuming as few resources as possible. In this paper, we propose a scheme of calculating resources' costs for precomputation QoS routing schemes. For a domain in the networks. the routing scheme first precomputes K multiple paths between all pairs of ingress and egress border routers while considering balancing of the expected load. We. therefore, expect that the paths are better than any other paths in respect to reserving the network resources on paths. The routing scheme combines inter and intra domain routings seamlessly and uses the same cost calculation scheme.

  • Mileage system in some online media, I have a lot of use. In addition, there are a lot of companies that are making money by using the mileage system. A mileage system is the first airline in such a way that the service in the late 1980s, many states now listed sungineung and features. In addition, there are many industries that reported good results using a mileage system used by carriers in other industries. However, mileage of the current game industry has not been introduced, it is not the service by using the concept of point returning to the user is purely a function of mileage. So a lot of developed payment systems in the mobile industry since 2010, proposed a better and more current online payment systems industry has an easy hybrid revenue model for mobile games service convergence mileage using this system.

Development of Social Network Game Engine based on ActionScript (액션 스크립트 기반의 소셜 네트워크 게임엔진의 개발)

  • As the social networking service (SNS), Facebook, and Cyworld, is developing, the social network game and social business commerce based on this service is activated. Especially, the Social Network Game (SNG) is getting explosive interests and it becomes popular, because it is small scale and user can enjoy the game among close friends. The market for this game is getting larger every year, but still it has some limitations in developing the game. Especially, the current game engine is aiming for developing online or console game, and there is no exclusive game engine for developing SNG. Therefore, it takes lots of time for developing SNG with this game engine. In this paper, we described a design and development of the game engine optimized for developing SNG, which not only adapts the main characteristics of the previous game engine, but also considers the specific characteristics of the SNG. The engine also supports map for the simulation game that is the most popular game in SNG, and also provides modules and tools for developing character animation easily. The evaluation standard for the performance of the game engine is the output generation speed of image, text and character. And the results showed reasonable output speed for developing the SNG in generation of image, text, and character.

Design and Implementation of Game Server using the Efficient Load Balancing Technology based on CPU Utilization (게임서버의 CPU 사용율 기반 효율적인 부하균등화 기술의 설계 및 구현)

  • The on-line games in the past were played by only two persons exchanging data based on one-to-one connections, whereas recent ones (e.g. MMORPG: Massively Multi-player Online Role-playings Game) enable tens of thousands of people to be connected simultaneously. Specifically, Korea has established an excellent network infrastructure that can't be found anywhere in the world. Almost every household has a high-speed Internet access. What made this possible was, in part, high density of population that has accelerated the formation of good Internet infrastructure. However, this rapid increase in the use of on-line games may lead to surging traffics exceeding the limited Internet communication capacity so that the connection to the games is unstable or the server fails. expanding the servers though this measure is very costly could solve this problem. To deal with this problem, the present study proposes the load distribution technology that connects in the form of local clustering the game servers divided by their contents used in each on-line game reduces the loads of specific servers using the load balancer, and enhances performance of sewer for their efficient operation. In this paper, a cluster system is proposed where each Game server in the system has different contents service and loads are distributed efficiently using the game server resource information such as CPU utilization. Game sewers having different contents are mutually connected and managed with a network file system to maintain information consistency required to support resource information updates, deletions, and additions. Simulation studies show that our method performs better than other traditional methods. In terms of response time, our method shows shorter latency than RR (Round Robin) and LC (Least Connection) by about 12%, 10% respectively.

  • 현재 국내 게임시장은 모바일게임이 주도해가고 있으면서 10조원이 넘는 시장규모를 보이고 있다. 국내의 게임업체들은 온라인게임과 모바일게임을 개발하여 지속적으로 출시하고 있는 특징이 현재 게임시장의 모습니다. 게임시장에서의 신작게임에 대한 매출은 게임 인기순위와 직접적인 관계를 갖는 요인이며, 게임시장의 현황을 파악하는데 가장 중요한 정보이며 마케팅과 홍보전략에 반영되는 중요한 데이터이다. 본 논문에서는 게임시장 파악과 마케팅 및 홍보 전략에 활용되는 게임순위와 관련해서 영향을 미치는 요소에 대해서 분석한 결과를 제시하고자 한다. 게임순위 변동에서 이벤트와 업데이트 중 효과적인 방법이 무엇인지를 제안하고 이벤트와 업데이트가 각각 게임순위 변동에 얼마나 큰 영향을 주는지에 대해 서술하고 또한 게임업계에서 주로 서비스하는 이벤트 종류와 업데이트 종류에 대해 서술한다. 이때 이벤트는 순위변동에 큰 영향이 없고 업데이트가 순위변동에 영향을 준다는 것에 대해서 분석결과를 제시한다.

Game-bot Detection based on Analysis of Harvest Coordinate

  • As the online game market grows, the use of game bots is causing the most serious problem for game services. We propose a harvest coordinate analysis model to detect harvesting bots among game bots of the Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games(MMORPGs) genre. The proposed model analyzes the player's harvesting behavior using the coordinate data. Game bots can obtain in-game goods and items more easily than normal players and are not affected by realistic restrictions such as sleep time and character manipulation fatigue. As a result, there is a difference in harvesting coordinates between normal players and game bots. We divided the coordinate zones and used these coordinate zone differences to distinguish between game bot players and normal players. We created a dataset with NCSoft's AION log and applied it to a random forest model to detect game bots, and as a result, we derived performance with a recall of 0.72 and a precision of 0.92.
