  • Due to a lack of reproducibility and visibility of the conventional equipment for westerly wave simulation, it is difficult to have indoor experiments at high school that show the stream of Hadley cell. A modified improvement of the old one improves the problem. The side wall and bottom of the new equipment is made by copper and acrylic resin, respectively, in order to clarify the difference between the water temperature inside and outside of the water tank. The equipment also has a high quality digital record for generating exact analysis of the results. And we also carried out several experiments that relate theoretical and experimental aspection of westerly wave. Temperature Detected Sheet (TDS) in flow visualization unit provides not only visual information of liquid flow, but also clear understanding of the relation between upper and lower wind flow structure. And the liquid stream simulated in indoor experiment using proposed equipment is commensurate with westerly wave in real atmosphere. The efficiency of educational properties of the proposed equipment is verified indirectly by Likert Scales survey of high school teachers.

  • In the time of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, we endlessly cross between the virtual and the real in our daily routine. Information saving method has changed from physical to virtual and the contents of a digital device can be a method of showing one's identity. A digital device can be seen as a virtual version of a 'wuderkammer'. With this perspective, this study focuses on the changes that has occurred in our daily interaction, the process of thinking, perceiving, and understanding in the time of 'digital wunderkammer'. In order to discuss this matter, this study looks at the two art work series - 'Universal Addressability of Dumb Things' and 'UniAddDumThs' - by a British artist, Mark Leckey and analyzes the digital environment of today, its visual expression, and the characteristic of 'digital wunderkammer' reflected in his art works. Through this study, we hope that the readers can understand the paradigm shift of today and expand the creative possibilities in this new era of digital revolution.

  • A new design field called eDesign appears as if eBiz is an online related business in which an industrialized design creates the individual value added facing a digital revolution. The field of eDesign requires a special design process and management methodology regardless of the fact that human sensitivity will be satisfied through a dehumanized computer technique. However, it is the reality of eDesign that has been dependent upon a simple process or project management tool of general design. In this study, we develop an eDesign platform based on an eDesign process and template mainly focused on eBusiness in order to overcome the wrong situation. The template is a kind of document that has a standardization form. We aim to establish a general process through various case projects, store information using a necessary template, and use for the way of visual communication. We propose a standard of eDesign platform that can be widely applied to the field of design, medium and small enterprises focused on IT businesses or design-team through this project performed as an educational-industrial study. It makes it possible to get a detailed process methodology, which can be applied to many small design related companies that don't have their own process yet, and will be a scale for comparing their own process in which the company has a process of opened standard eDesign with it. In addition, it makes possible a systematic control of the own projects within and outside the firm, accumulating information for the firm through the database, and easy communication. Furthermore, it can be applied to check the process of the project as a checklist, and then it will reduce trial and error repeated for every project that has been done.

  • In the conventional thermograph systems, expensive infrared lens systems are usually used for accomodating infrared beams to high speed optical scanners. In this study, a cheap focussing mirror with a two dimensional scanner are used for the development of medical infrared thermograph system in which high speed imaging is not critically required. The infrared thermograph system can be used for two dimensional imaging of human skin temperature by measuring the amount of infrared lights radiating from it. It has been experimentally proven that the accuracy of temperature measurements using the developed system is under 0.1$^{\circ}C$ with image matrix size of 256${\times}$240, and imaging time of 4 seconds.

  • Vector field has been commonly used to visualize the data set which is invisible or is hard to explain. For instance, it could be used to visualize scientific data such as the direction and amount of wind and water field, transfer of heat through thermally conductive materials, and electromagnetic field. In this paper, we present a technique to enable intuitive recognition of the data though haptic feedback along with visual feedback. To add tactile information to graphical vector field, we model a haptic vector field and then apply it to the haptic map to guide a user to destination and haptic simulation of water field on 2D images whish can be used ill everyday life. These systems allow one to recognize vector information intuitively through haptic interface. We expect that the haptic rendering technique of vector field can be applied to various applications such as education, training, and entertainment.

  • This study proposed the system to automatically control the optimized raising environment for vegetation, raised in an equipment house, in which u-IT agricultural technology concept was applied. The system consists of environment sensors such as temperature, humidity, etc., biosensors such as EC, PH, etc., and requested automatic control devices, in which they were automatically controlled by the software system. The system is established in client systems, installed in each equipment house and the server system, collecting data from each client system as well. In addition, the system collects each farmer's data through the Internet and 3G network. In this phase, collected raising environment data comes to be analyzed in order to find out the optimized vegetation raising environment, finally, which is visualized and used for consulting each farmer.

  • A developed Web-aided laboratory program visualized invisible gas. In the Web-aided laboratory temperature and pressure were controlled and the resultant findings were presented as types of graphs, disclosed in the form of an analyzed report. A Web-aided laboratory experiment and traditional experiment group(2 classes) were assembled from a farming village co-educational high school and taught the motion of molecule lesson for 2 class hours. Before actual class instruction, to survey learner motivation characteristics, the short-version GALT, the test of attitudes toward science instruction, was administered. After instruction, student learning achievement, TOSRA, and IMMS, were administered to the two groups. To analyze data ANCOVA was administrated. Result found that attitudes towards science instruction did not significantly differ, but learning motivation and achievement were significantly altered.

  • In this paper, the real time monitoring system for the abnormal state of marine algae does not detect the plankton which may directly cause the red tide or the water bloom. But checks both oxygen reduction and nitrogen reduction in water, which indicates the characteristics of zooplankton and phytoplankton respectively, and this system makes a module that monitors in real time the temperature and the illumination of the water, which are indirect factors, with sensors placed in and outside the water, and this module transmits signals periodically at specific intervals to a sever that builds up data base, and the data collected in these ways will be analyzed and compared with the standard data from Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, and then these data will be made the adequate form of information to be provided to the users as visual information, thus, this system intends to make a red tide and water bloom monitoring system tailored for individual fish farm businesses that has local characteristics and can quickly operate outside working hours, which differs from the existing wide area detecting and monitoring systems.

  • The global manufacturing industry has reached the limit to growth due to a long-term recession, the rise of labor cost and raw material. As a solution to these difficulties, we promote the 4th Industry Revolution based on ICT and sensor technology. Following this trend, this paper proposes the design of a model using manufacturing data in the protection film process for smart manufacturing innovation. In the protective film process, the manufacturing data of temperature, pressure, humidity, and motion and thermal image are acquired by various sensors for the raw material blending, stirring, extrusion, and inspection processes. While the acquired manufacturing data is stored in mass storage, A.I. platform provides time-series image analysis and its visualization.

  • Stimuli-responsive hydrogels are being extensively studied to alter their physiochemical properties in response to external changes such as temperature, pH, light and mechanical stress. This study reports multi-responsive hydrogel having optical change response to external stress. First, we synthesized a novel spiropyran cross-linker successfully by grafting poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate (PEGDA) on both side of spiropyran and introduced to hydrogel. In the results, the yellow spriopyran structure was conversed to purple merocyaine structure by internal stress during swelling of the hydrogels cross-linked with the SP-PEGDAs. Also, the hydrogel could be visualized the swelling and deswelling process in response to pH, by converting MC and prontonated MC structure.
