Detection of Potential Memory Access Errors based on Assembly Codes (어셈블리어 코드 기반의 메모리 오류 가능성 검출)

  • Memory errors can cause not only program malfunctions but also even unexpected system halt. Though a programmer checks memory errors, some memory errors with low occurrence frequency are missed to detect. In this paper, we propose a method for effectively detecting such memory errors using instruction transition diagrams through analyzing assembly codes obtained by disassembling an executable file. Out of various memory errors, local memory return errors, null pointer access errors and uninitialized pointer access errors are targeted for detection. When applying the proposed method to various programs including well-known open source programs such as Apache web server and PHP script interpreter, some potential memory errors are detected.

A Study of MES for the Product Tracking Based on RFID (제품추적을 위한 RFID기반 제조실행시스템에 대한 연구)

  • MES(Manufacturing Execution System) is a control system which supports basic activities(scheduling, working process and qualify management, etc) to execute working on the shop floor. As especially MES is a system to decrease the gap between production planning and operating, it executes functions that make decision between management and labor using real-time data. MES for real-time information processing requires certain conditions such as data modeling of RFID, which has recently attracted attentions, and monitoring of each product unit from manufacture to sales. However, in the middle of processing the unit with a RFID tag, transponders(readers) can't often read the tag due to reader's malfunctions, intentional damages, loss and the circumstantial effects; for that reason, users are unable to confirm the location of the product unit. In this case, users cannot avoid tracing the path of units with uncertain clues. In this paper, we suggest that the unique MES based on RFID and Bayesian Network can immediately track the product unit, and show how to evaluate it.

  • Traffic volume data is basic information that is used in a wide variety of fields. Existing missing traffic volume data imputation method did not take the effect on the rainfall. This research analyzed considering of the rainfall effect in missing traffic volume data imputation method. In order to consider the effect of rainfall, established the following assumption. When missing of traffic volume data generated in rainy days it would be more accurate to use only the traffic volume data of the past rainy days. To confirm this assumption, compared for accuracy of imputed results at three kinds of imputation method(Unconditional Mean, Auto Regression, Expectation-Maximization Algorithm). The analysis results, the case on consideration of the rainfall effect was more low error occurred.

  • Various technologies to cope with the energy and environmental issues related to the chemical and electric power industry are in development and demonstration stage. Especially, the absorption process of carbon dioxide ($CO_2$) using amine solution is a key technology of the $CO_2$ capture and storage (CCS). In this study, we identify the major risk factors and suggest strategies for safety improvement by analyzing and assessing commercial the amine-based $CO_2$ separation process. HAZOP method was used to assess the risk for the process. We provide facilities and operational strategies to mitigate or eliminate major risk factors by assessing the relative ranks of identified risk factors using a risk matrix.

  • Home network system makes it available for controlling inside home and for controlling from outside as well with personal computer, cellular phone or smart phone, by connecting diverse information equipments within home such as lighting, gas, and heating equipments with network Integrated server and wall-pad, which form home network system, have demerits as saying of being high-priced and of needing to implement network infrastructure. Also, there is also risk, which is unavailable for controlling equipments inside home, or can cause malfunction of equipments given the occurrence of a problem about integrated server This study suggested the intelligent home network system, which uses smart phone of supplementing these merits of home network system. It substituted high-specification input & output equipment in the currently and widely supplied smart phone for display and touch screen, which are user interface part of the existing wall-pad, and suggest the common home network system by concentrating management and control function of home network on smart phone.

The Development of Remote Monitoring System for Storm Overflow Chamber Device (우수토실 일체형 하수유량조절장치 원격관리시스템 개발)

  • This paper propose the remote monitoring system using LoRa networks about storm overflow chamber, which is a device designed to discharge rainwater directly to a sewage treatment plant when it reaches a certain amount of rainfall during precipitation. In this system, when the information produced by the sensor is transmitted to the LoRa network server and updated, the application server can automatically receive data through the implemented communication interface. The application server carries out management functions of storm overflow chamber devices and subscription information, collects measured flow rate and opening-closing information, and provides statistical information using the collected data. The android app performs a firebase-based notification function to prompt the user of malfunctioning of the storm overflow chamber device.

  • This study proposes the traffic prediction and optimal traffic control system based on cell transmission model and genetic algorithm in cloud environment. The proposed prediction and control system consists of four parts. 1) Data preprocessing module detects and imputes the corrupted data and missing data points. 2) Data-driven traffic prediction module predicts the future traffic state using Multi-level K-Nearest Neighbor (MK-NN) Algorithm with stored historical data in SQL database. 3) Online traffic simulation module simulates the future traffic state in various situations including accident, road work, and extreme weather condition with predicted traffic data by MK-NN. 4) Optimal road control module produces the control strategy for large road network with cell transmission model and genetic algorithm. The results show that proposed system can effectively reduce the Vehicle Hours Traveled upto 60%.

Rain Sensor using Scattered Light Outside Waveguide (광도파관 외부산란광을 이용한 우적감지 센서)

  • Rain sensor detecting the presence of rain outside windshield glass of automobile by receiving scattered light from rain drops is proposed. Rain sensor using windshield glass as light waveguide required precision optical apparatus to inject light signal into windshield glass, and it was susceptible to outside shock and vibration, resulting malfunction, which altered optical coupling ratio. Proposed rain sensor, which detected scattered light from rain drops outside optical waveguide, did not require optical components because it did not need to inject light signal into light waveguide. This was advantageous because the sensor was less effected by shock and vibration. Fabricated rain sensor using scattered light outside waveguide responded not only to rain drops but also mist particles under simulated rain conditions using spraying nozzle, thus it showed prospects as rain sensor for automobile application.

A Study on Smart Monitoring and Automatic Control based Food Waste Disposer (스마트 모니터링과 자동 제어 기반의 음식물 처리장치 연구)

  • A food waste disposer commonly used in restaurants or homes is a type of machine with an agitator attached. The food waste disposer of the crushing type has a problem that the agitator may be broken if the piping or decomposition filter is blocked. In addition, there is an inconvenience that the user must manually open the cover to check the level in the food waste disposer. To solve these problems, this paper proposes a device that combines basic IoT technology with food waste disposer. The proposed device additionally designs and implement a real-time monitor processor and an automatic control processor inside the existing food waste disposer. The proposed food waste disposer allows the user to monitor the inside of the device using the smartphone. In addition, when the food is filled up to a certain position in the food waste disposer, it automatically stops and alarms. Using the proposed system, the user can conveniently check the inside of the food waste disposer, which has the advantage of preventing malfunctions in advance and reducing the probability of malfunction.

Evaluation and Challenges of the 'Verified Report System' to reduce False Alarm (오경보 감소를 위한 '선별신고제도'의 평가와 과제)

  • A discussion on false alarm is a series of problems about a waste of police resources. The the false alarm primarily increase machine the cost of security firm but ultimately increase the costs of national and social management. Verified Report System has been in operation since July 1, 2013, We could analyze the actual operation of 112 report on false alarm rate was 82.4% before this system launched, but after implementation of the Verified Report System, this rate level downs below 69.7% records. So 12.7% is declined at the rate of false alarm. However, the actual alarm rate of Electronic Security itself is just only 0.3 % in the total number of cases responding in contrast to Police is considerable. It is more urgent to evolve the Verified Report System, so penalty system against the false alarm, Police registration system of sensors, and strengthening of the task of the company for installation and management of detection equipment are urgently needed.
