The Impact of Managerial Response to Negative Customer Reviews on the Success of Accommodation Services: Evidence from Online Accommodation Reservation Platforms (부정적 리뷰의 대응 전략이 숙박시설 성공에 미치는 영향: 숙박 중개 플랫폼 사례)

  • This research investigates how a service provider's response(s) to negative customer reviews influences the success of accommodation services in the context of online accommodation reservation platforms. Specifically, we attempt to comprehend the important role of attentive and instant responses to users' negative review comments in fostering future success by analyzing panel data on 856 motels registered in the largest accommodation reservation platform in Korea. The results present that response volume (Attentiveness) and faster responses (Timeliness) are positively associated with success. We further find that the two review-response strategies have a positive interaction effect on success. Moreover, we show that the effect of review responses is strengthened when the reputation of motels drops. The key findings of this research offer a set of practical guidelines for accommodation owners to achieve business success by effectively managing customer reviews and claims

A Comparison of Admission Controls of Reservation Requests with Callable Products (임의상환가능 상품 도입하의 예약 요청 승인 방법 비교)

  • A callable product is one of service derivatives using options to generate demand and reduce risk. This paper compares two booking admission controls for callable products, the online and the batch admission controls. To this end, the paper computes the optimal booking policy by using the backward dynamic programming and the stochastic optimization method. Intuitively, the provider should outperform under the batch control by utilizing demand information. The contribution of the paper is to show that the two controls are equivalent in terms of the booking strategy and the expected profit, which enables the provider to keep its current control method. The paper develops the closed-form solutions for the three fare classes. The future work is to extend the result to the model with complicated fare structures.

Acceptability of a Freeway Travel Reservation Strategy (고속도로 통행 예약제의 수용성 분석)

  • The objective of this study is to propose a new strategy, called "freeway travel reservation strategy", to mitigate freeway traffic congestion by using advanced traffic technologies and traffic demand management policies, and to analyze its acceptability. Motorist surveys were carried out to accomplish the acceptability analysis. As a result, 73% of respondents agreed with the proposed strategy, and an increase in the inconvenience for using freeway during the major Korean Holidays, in the age, in the number of family members, and in household income resulted in higher acceptability. Additionally, married or female respondents tended to have higher acceptability. Such results can be practical for developing policies to successfully operate the proposed strategy in the future.

  • 본 연구는 호텔에서 방 예약을 받는 시스템에서, 전술적으로 방의 등급을 정해 예약을 받는 방 배정 문제에서, 효과적인 절차를 총 수익에 관련되는 여러 가지 요소들을 고려하여, 총 수익을 최대화하는 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 이익을 최대화하고, 자원들의 효과적인 배분을 위해서 먼저 시장의 차별화가 어떻게 다르게 형성되는가를 분석하고, 이 결과를 전략적인 계층 방 분배 문제를 해결하는 데에 적용하였다. 하룻밤을 지내는 손님을 위한 예약에서는 동적인 모델링(dynamic model)이 사용되었고, 여러 밤을 지내는 손님들을 위해서는 정적인 모델링(static model)을 제시하였다.

  • This paper investigates the Performance of MSA l (group partition based reservation scheduling algorithm) and MSA ll (group based reservation scheduling algorithm) for multicast service in single-hop WDM networks. Simulation results show that MSA l produces lower mean packet delay than MSA ll when the channel resource is sufficient. However, when the channel resource is limited, MSA ll produces lower mean packet delay than MSA I when traffic load is heavy.

  • Today, digital transformation in providing service value to companies that combine service and technology is becoming a necessity. In the transition period of digital transformation, various factors such as data, artificial intelligence technology, and partnerships can become competitive factors. In particular, digital transformation, which combines information and services with customers, creates a new business model that changes the entire industry and is presented as core competitiveness that creates customer value. From these aspects, the purpose of this case study is to derive competitive advantages on digital transformation using the case of company S. First, the study analyzes the same type of industry based on the case of app service. Second, this study presents preference factors in the operational process to enhance competitiveness by expanding user participation in accommodation reservation services. In addition, the customer service value model provides through the analysis of the five competitive factors in the operational process. This study elaborates the implications of the customer service value creation model in terms of new opportunities and challenges in digital transformation as a new customer service strategy.

  • 구매 의사 결정 단계에서 이미지나 동영상의 영향력이 지속해서 증가하고 있음에도 불구하고 시각적 정보가 소비자의 구매 의사 결정 과정에 영향을 미치는 메커니즘과 이에 따른 기업, 특히, 오프라인 기업의 성과에 대해서는 아직 알려진 바가 많지 않다. 이에 본 연구는 O2O 플랫폼에 입점한 10만 개 식당의 실제 예약 매출 데이터를 분석하여 이용자와 사업자가 O2O 플랫폼에 업로드한 사진 등의 시각적 정보가 기업의 성과에 미치는 영향과 메커니즘을 이중 처리 이론 기반으로 파악하고자 한다. 또한 저장하기, 공유, 리뷰 등 고객 참여와 프랜차이즈 가맹의 시각적 정보와 성과 간 관계에 대한 조절된 매개 효과를 분석한다. 본 연구는 이중 처리 이론 기반으로 시각적 정보가 구매 의사 결정 과정에서 작동하는 메커니즘을 설명하는데 기여할 것으로 기대한다. 그뿐만 아니라 실제 예약 매출 데이터를 활용하여 분석함으로써 직접적이고, 수익적인 측면의 기업 성과를 측정할 수 있을 것이다. 또한 오프라인 소매점에서 활용할 수 있는 온라인 채널 전략에 대한 실무적인 시사점을 제공할 것으로 기대한다.

  • In this research, the factor having an effect on the cancer check inspection through the cancer check service and process, of desiring against the cancer check examinee living in the illustration and rural area environment, and analysis about the result tries to be sought for. This research performed the frequency analysis, cross analysis, t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis and came to the conclusion. The examination reservation procedure, medical team professionalism, examination contents of notice, result of medical examination explanation, examination notification date, and examination duration of subscription was analyzed as the significance factor as the factor reached to the urban district inspection. And the examination contents of notice, total examination time, result of medical examination explanation, medical team professionalism, examination duration of subscription, and process of the medical examination explanation as to rural area, was analyzed as the significance factor. The cancer check was inspected according to the illustration and farming village and there was no big difference in the significance factor having an effect on the inspection. However, the Profiling about the examination procedure and service has to be continuously performed. And the differentiation strategy and policy considering the illustration and fairness between rural areas are required.

  • 영상회의 시스템과 같이 그룹의 멤버들이 서로 다른 지점에 위치하면서 실시간으로 대화하는 시스템을 실시간 분산 그룹웨어 시스템(real-time distributed groupware system)으로 정의한다. 회의 관리는 영상회의를 원하는 사용자가 네트웍 상에서 현재 열리고 있는 회의세션을 검색하거나, 새로운 회의세션을 생성하여 영상회의를 시작시키거나, 앞으로 열릴 회의세션을 예약하거나 등의 서비스를 제공한다. 여기서 회의세션의 의미는 분산된 시스템들과 그 시스템의 사용자들이 하나의 그룹을 형성하고, 그룹내에서 클라이언트와 서버 형식의 상호작용을 하도록 하는 연결 고리로 정의한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 서비스를 제공하는 회의 관리구조를 설계하였고, 앞으로 구현 및 확장을 할 예정이다.

  • Cloud computing is fast becoming the wave of the future for both home and business computing. Because of this growing acceptance, we can expect an explosion of diverse cloud service providers in the coming years. However, the cloud is not a single entity, rather it is a set of many disconnected islands of application (SaaS), infrastructure (IaaS), and different platform (PaaS) services. Cloud brokering mechanisms are essential to transform the heterogeneous cloud market into a commodity-like service. Cloud service brokers (CSBs) are the new form of business entities to help to aggregate the scattered set of cloud services and make conveniently available to their diverse users. CSBs can reserve a certain percentage of their clients' (users') demand and satisfy the remaining portion in an on-demand basis. In doing so, they need to minimize cost of both reserved and on-demand instances as well as the distance of a link between the cloud service provider (CSP) and the user. The study proposes a reservation approach with a mixed integer model to optimizes the cloud service cost and quality.
