This article aims to understand the meanings of urban regeneration utilizing culture and art focusing on a case of the waterfront development in Yokohama, and consider the role of culture and art playing in the cultural city strategy within the revitalization of regional cultures as a main intention by means of interrogation into the cultural policy and its practice in the waterfront development of a sea-port city. Yokohama has proceeded successfully the waterfront development through the creation of culture and art space by using the characterful and attractive urban scape and regional sources around the waterfront. In the cultural policy of 'the Creative City, Yokohama' as a part of 'Culture and Art Creatvie City' strategy of Japan, 'National Art Park plan' as a space planning policy realizes the regeneration of the waterfront through the creation of culture and art space. The examination on the basic intention of this venture and its practice helps comprehend a role of culture and art playing in the waterfront development of a sea-port city and shows the direction that the cultural policy would take in the waterfront regeneration.

The ability to develop curriculums is a crucial factor in evaluating the expertise of a teacher who teaches culture & art education. Establishing a one-year plan for classes is an effort to create a well-designed curriculum for the year and also to foresee the big picture of classes in the corresponding year. A curriculum should not be composed of merely educational content or a series of knowledge and skills. It should be well-designed, based on principles of a coherent plan. This study examines organizational principles on which common curriculums are based on and looks at how a curriculum can be designed, especially for cartoon & animation classes, as part of Culture & Art education, and which factors should be considered in planning. In the process of forming such a curriculum, these steps should be followed: considering educational standards for cartoon animation classes; determining the learning experience, organizing the learning experience; and, lastly, evaluating the level of learning. In addition, effective teaching strategies that reflect the characteristics of a class on cartoon animation should be formulated. This study suggests actual examples of an effective annual curriculum for cartoon animation classes based on all the factors presented above.

The purpose of this study is to advanced and develop a core competency diagnosis tool that junior college students must have in order to implement competency-oriented education to nurture talents required by the future society, and to verify its validity and reliability. To this end, the existing diagnostic tools were analyzed and preliminary questions were derived through analysis of prior research, collecting opinions of members, FGI, and expert advice. A total of 46 items were derived, which were verified as content validity. Afterwards, a preliminary survey was conducted targeting 380 applicants among current students. To verify the validity of the construct, an exploratory factor analysis was performed using AMOS 18.0. As a result, 30 final questions composed of 6 core competencies were derived. The core competency diagnosis tool is expected to be actively used as a future-oriented competency education execution, evaluation, and quality management tool by diagnosing the competencies of current students.

The purpose of this study is to propose an art healing program that can be used in the field to improve the quality of life and positive interaction between the elderly with mild dementia and their spouses. Therefore, after considering the preceding studies, the art healing program was constructed in five stages: survey-analysis-design-plan-implementation and evaluation based on theoretical discourse. In addition, by pilot application to the elderly with mild dementia and their spouses using the Y Dementia Relief Center, the art healing program provides internal positive resources, strengthens mutually beneficial resources between husband and wife, and improves life satisfaction and happiness by experiencing relationships with neighbors in the local community. was confirmed to be effective. This study is significant in that it proposes an art healing support plan that supports dementia patients and their families together before entering a super-aging society.

It is widely agreed that a documentation strategy that considers the social context of fragmented records is needed for documentation of social memories. This paper examined a new methodology named Seoul Narrative Archiving Policy(S-NAP) which was developed for the documentation of social memories in metropolitan areas. Also, the paper reviewed the applicability of S-NAP through the collection cases of Seoul Metropolitan Archives. The development process of the S-NAP is as follows. First, acquisition topic domains that cover an entire metropolitan region were developed. Next, implementation units(S-NAP) were designed through extensive data analysis that encompasses social, economic, culture, and art areas and reflects outcomes of regional studies. As a result, a total of nine acquisition topic domains, 61 parents S-NAP, and 184 children S-NAP were derived from the aforementioned methodology and methods. Finally, this paper proposed the applicability of S-NAP as archival contents and as a supportive tool for archival activity networks.

현대 사회는 과학 기술적 지식뿐만 아니라 창의성과 예술적 감성을 겸비한 융합 인재를 필요로 하고 있다. 이에 교육과학기술부는 STEAM 교육 강화를 발표하였고, 대학과 각급 학교에서 STEAM 교육 실행방향에 대한 논의와 다양한 프로그램 개발이 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 초등학교에서의 STEAM 교육 방안으로 릴리패드 아두이노의 활용 가능성을 검토하여 STEAM 교육 프로그램을 설계하고, 이에 대한 교육적 효과를 논의하고자 한다.

The purpose of the study was to critically explore the academic identity of dance education as a paradigm of practice-based education. Dance education is recognized as a school dance since the first curriculum was designed, which was announced by the Ministry of Education in 1955. Although Korea's dance education has 65 years of history, its academic identity as a dance education is not very strong. Traditional dance education was teacher-centered, skills-oriented, and exercise-oriented by following the practice-based paradigm. Recently, an initiative was taken to establish a new paradigm for dance education in schools, communities, and professional fields. This study followed the keyword network analysis and reviewed the main contents of each section of dance education research from a time-series perspective. The first section (1968-1979) is a practice of dance education based on physical education; the second section (1980-1989) is a creative-based movement education for primary education; the third section (1990-1999) is a systematization of dance education courses by class; the fourth section (2000-2009) is a paradigm for cultural and artistic education; the fifth section (2010-2019) consisted of various educational practices and institutions. Based on the research results, efforts are requested to establish an academic identity that can support dance education, interdisciplinary practice, and research.

Cultural contents should provide all the people web services to ensure accessibility without any obstacles as a core resource of nation including a code linking people and people beyond time and space. This study achieved that automated measure including 11 checkpoints and manual analysis including 11 criteria and 26 checkpoints of three areas in selected five web sites such as Culture Portal. Art Road, Korean Patterns, MFM, and e-Museum supported by Ministry of Culture & Tourism. As a result, web accessibility level of cultural contents analyzed it staying at the beginning level. This study Provided the directions in order to improve accessibility of cultural contents through showing real cases to practice for improving web accessibility.

Nowadays, the trend of early childhood education has focused on finding educational activities to enhance quality of learning with integrative, learner-centered experience by combining each subject and domain. Pre-service early childhood teacher's music drama activity is a sort of integrated education including literature, instrumental music, play, art and movement that are included in the culture and art for preschoolers to help them understand role and value of the art and directly influence personality and creativity and motive to arouse interest in various learning directly. It's expected to see that development of creative teaching plan for the music drama using piano ensemble could support basic research in integrated educational activity in the teacher training course and also, activate the music drama activity. Research findings and suggestion are as follows. First, the music drama activities are systematically and step-by-step implemented according to the audience according to the cooperative learning and creative plans of pre-service early childhood teachers. Second, if understanding characteristics of casts in the music drama and assigning their roles efficiently, it enhances approach of pre-service early childhood teacher music drama activity and activate it. Third, making music in music drama activities can be composed and arranged to suit the musical literacy and level of pre-service early childhood teacher. Fourth, pre-service early childhood teachers could have integrated experience and evaluation efficiently in the short term to use as reference for the teaching plan and data for the music drama.

A research field develops by experiencing several turns of paradigms. Mathematics education research have experienced those turns as well. Still, the dominant perspective is that mathematics education research should be scientific and objective. In this article, I suggest that this need not to be the prime rule to follow and that the mathematics education field will fertile by discussing extraordinary cases which may seem controversal to be recognized as valid research work. To this end, I first briefly describe the necessity of open discussions among researchers for a field to develop. Then, I introduce fiction writing, a resesarch method derived from arts-based research, as an extraordinary case for open discussions. The benefit of Arts-based research is on that it takes an holistic approach to how we know by embracing emotion and emphathy as means for knowing. Because of this trait, arts-based research holds a powerful potential for influencing a wide range of people, both inside and outside of the resesarch field. Following this, I present a fiction about a prospective teacher who participated in an activity for designing educative curriculum materials. By doing so, I sought to provoke discussions among mathematics education researchers about what to include as a valid research work, possible standards for reviewing arts-based resesarch.
