China Film Market Entry Strategy for Success of Movies: A-Hong Kong Co-production, Focusing on the Experiences and Lessons Learned(1956-1982) (중국 영화시장 진출 성공을 위한 연구: 한-홍 공동제작의 경험과 교훈을 중심으로(1956~1982))

  • China shows an evident growth in its visual culture in recent years, fueled by its accumulated wealth and the influx of relatively advanced visual culture from Hong Kong. There have been recent attempts to further the economic ties with Taiwan to form a pan-Chinese film market. Considering most Chinese blockbusters are produced by film makers in Hong Kong, it is safe to claim that Chinese films are the extension of Cantonese films. This text examines the past makings of Korean-Cantonese films and their influence. Based on the findings, it explores the necessary efforts on a civil level and the governmental support, required for Korea to make its way into the pan-Chinese film market as an equal participant. Such foundation would protect Korean film market in the midst of fast-changing media scape and serve as a stepping stone for Korea's advance into the pan-Chinese visual market.

  • 시각효과에 의한 스펙터클 요소는 영상콘텐츠에서 관객의 몰입감을 향상시키고, 작품성을 높인다. 특히 재난영화는 스펙터클 요소를 주된 연출 방법의 하나로 사용하여 관객의 기대와 감동을 키운다. 또한 영화제작기법과 함께 스펙터클 장면을 표현하기 위한 CGI기술의 발전이 영화 장르의 확장과 학문적 발전을 이끌어왔다. 그러나 스펙터클 요소가 내러티브에 영향을 끼친 연구는 지금까지 매우 미비하다. 본 논문은 스펙터클 요소가 재난영화의 내러티브에 끼치는 연구를 분석하기 위해 2019년에 개봉된 재난 영화 <유랑지구>를 분석하였다. 이를 위해 스펙터클과 내러티브의 개념과 특징을 이론적 배경으로 제시하고, <유랑지구>의 스펙터클 요소 분석과 극중의 내러티브와의 관계를 연구하였다. 본 연구를 통해 스펙터클 요소를 활용해 영화의 내러티브 강화에 도움이 되길 기대한다.

  • This study analyzes the present condition and the environment of the university education centered on the practice in the film field and suggests the effective development plan for the new or improved practice. Recently, as a new breakthrough in infant education in the rapidly declining educational environment, the introduction of arts education, on-site self-study, and practice-centered laboratory exercises are increasing students' satisfaction. However, compared to trend, our practical education and creative education programs are lacking in reality. In this study, we analyze and study the effective development method of education through researching the satisfaction pattern and the education program of the students who are the center of the production practice shown in the movie image production, and building the paradigm, I would like to suggest a direction for the production education.

  • 해마다 방대한 양의 콘텐츠가 쏟아져 나오는 현재의 콘텐츠 시장은 '즐길 거리'가 차고 넘치는, 수요보다 공급이 많은 시장이다. 이러한 환경에서 소비자가 자신의 취향에 맞는 콘텐츠를 쉽고 빠르게 찾을 수 있게 하는 맞춤형 콘텐츠 제공의 측면에서 빅데이터의 효율적인 활용은 중요하다. 더 나아가 콘텐츠의 소비 단계 뿐만 아니라 기획 및 제작 단계에서도 빅데이터는 소비자가 흥미를 느낄만한 콘텐츠를 미리 예측하며, 성공 가능성 높은 콘텐츠를 기획 및 제작할 수 있게 하는데 기인하는 중요한 핵심 요소이다. 이미 게임, 영상, 음악 등의 분야에서는 개인의 기호와 취향에 맞춤화된 콘텐츠를 제공하거나 소비자에게 더 인기를 얻을 수 있는 콘텐츠 기획 및 개발에 빅데이터를 활용하고 있으며, 앞으로는 더욱 다양한 장르에서 빅데이터 활용 사례가 증가할 전망이다.

  • To know the delivery effect and the disagree problem of an image meaning for an independent film, we analyzed the understanding level and problem of the film focused the self-producted "The way". The results which applied an interview question to general undergraduates and film major postgraduates, they admitted the film as an artistic film. But it was difficult for the film to delivery an image meaning to general spectator. Also they couldn't understand completely the film messages without having the entire acknowledge of movie. Namely, the film has been failed a spectator mobilization, because it had a strong mania propensity. Moreover, film-major specialists couldn't stand the correct understanding of the film without explaining the planning intention and the synopsis. Most people presented the opposite opinion about the sympathy of an image meaning.

  • Over the past 70 years, movies and television have revolutionized the way people communicate. However, even with this development, TV has been used only as a means of communication targeting an unspecified number of people due to the restriction of media such as radio waves and movies. However, the development of the Internet and online video has come to a time when 100 million people watch YouTube videos uploaded from the other side of the world by eliminating these restrictions. The message that you want to deliver now can be delivered to anyone, but making the image with these messages remains the last obstacle to communication. To solve these problems, we implemented a web application and a video production program through AWS. This system basically provides the administrator with the video production through the easy interface, the information management and the program on the server on the internet through AWS, the assigned lecture including the computer and the smart phone, the learning materials, And implemented to increase the efficiency of educational video production service.

A Study on the Ways to Embrace Stereoscopic 3D Cinema in Korea (3D 시네마 수용 방안 연구)

  • James Cameron's "Avatar" has broken the national record of movie ticket sales, and it caused the boom of 3D and 3D related fields. This research is focused on the appropriate ways to embrace the stereoscopic 3D cinema and the assumable result in Korea. The new stereoscopic 3D is different from the old fashioned analogue 3D, and it has many possibilities that may influence Korean film industry. Since 1990s, the number of Korean film school has increased drastically, and many of those who graduated from the schools would experience fierce job market. 3D converting projects that require a lot of film majored personnels would solve the overly supplied film majored professionals. Through Korea's hundreds of film schools, when they include 3D filmmaking in their curriculum, they can train and educate 3D related staff such as stereographer, convergence puller, and depth continuity artists, and Korea can be an important 3D staff train center in the world. Educating 3D filmmaking can produce a noticeable result in terms of accepting 3D cinema. Stereoscopic 3D cinema has many possibilities in many fields not only in cinema but also almost every fields that related to the imagery. With government's supports, the investments from the 3D related corporations, and 3D education in colleges would be fast and efficient way to embrace and accept stereoscopic 3D cinema in Korea in terms of the size and the profit.

Analyses of the Causes that Film Production Staffs Leave Film Sites and Proposals for the Improvement (영화 Production 스태프의 탈 현장 원인 분석과 개선을 위한 제언)

  • The Korean film market has revved up against American movies and the movie industry has continued to grow even though Korea is a small country. However, most production staffs who are responsible for practical business of film production get wages that fall short of the inflation rate and minimum wages as temporary employees. And there's the atmosphere that they try to leave film sites on the first opportunity. This study finds that the cause to leave film sites is attributed to perception gaps about the hardworking character and labor which occur in the process that production staffs enter the movie industry and participate in film production as well as poor surroundings. And it should establish staffs' hardworking character and recognition as workers to them by reorganizing the current curriculums which approach movies from the only artistic viewpoint in the departments related to movies and images that hold a large majority in their majors, establishing the concept of work according to participation in film production to potential production staffs, and changing their recognition to improve the elements that they leave the sites.

  • In the future there would be many kinds of digital images for many industrial markets. 3D stereoscopic images for variable fields; medical operation, film and animation, broadcasting, internet, game, or design for art and architecture. And many people to work about computer programming, and digital image making will concern about it more and more. However, these kinds works and studies are focused on the professional technical fields like 3D display or computer programming technology so far. To revitalize the market of a variable stereoscopic contents, there should build up the foundation for easy processing of the making stereoscopic images. This paper is based on stereoscopic making skills for anaglyph system. An anaglyph system has an old history about making stereoscopic images, and very simple method to produce the stereoscopic images. Particularly this study is focused on color compositing technique, and camera positioning on the compositing system. It will help optimization of the environments to create 3D motion graphic and animation contents.

  • 컴퓨터 그래픽스를 이용한 디지털 콘텐츠를 제작 및 생산함에 있어서 마지막 단계에서 렌더링 과정을 꼭 거쳐야 하기 때문에 렌더링 부분은 아주 중요하다. 렌더링해야 할 디지털 콘텐츠에는 게임과 같이 실시간성이 아주 중요한 콘텐츠가 있으며, 영화와 같이 영상의 높은 품질을 요구하는 콘텐츠가 있다. 본 고에서는 영화와 같이 고품질을 요구하는 콘텐츠에 대한 렌더링 기술에 대하여 다루고자 한다. 영화의 한 장면과 같이 복잡하며 높은 해상도를 갖는 영상을 기존 단일 CPU 및 소프트웨어 렌더러를 이용하여 렌더링하는 데 아주 많은 시간이 걸린다. 본 고에서는 렌더링 시간을 줄이며 높은 품질의 렌더링 결과를 얻는 기술을 3가지 부분에서 소개하고자 한다. 첫번째 방법에는 수십 개에서 수천 개의 CPU를 이용하거나 PC를 클러스터링하는 방법이고, 두번째는 기존 GPU의 기술이 아주 빨리 발전하여 CPU 보다 빠른 성능을 갖기 때문에 GPU를 활용하여 가속화하는 방법이 있으며, 세번째는 전용 하드웨어를 제작하여 렌더링을 가속하는 방법이 있다. 위의 방법들에 대한 기술 동향에 대하여 살펴보도록 한다.
