21세기 현대사회는 다양한 가상현실 미디어에 둘러싸여있다. 영화, 드라마, 광고 등 대부분의 영상에 거의 필수적으로 컴퓨터 그래픽 작업이 들어가며, 가상현실의 대표적인 콘텐츠인 게임의 경우 100억 달러 규모의 거대 시장이 형성되어있다. 단순히 오락적 요소로만 여겨지던 이 가상현실이, 최근에는 교육과 연계되어 연구되기 시작했다. 한국인의 교육열은 세계적으로 유명하고, 특히 영어교육에는 한 해 평균 19조원을 투자할 정도로 영어 교육에 관심이 많다. 그러나 대부분의 한국인들은 여전히 영어를 어려워한다. 본 논문에서는 가상현실의 몰입감과 체험이라는 특징을 영어교육과 접목하여 교육의 효과를 높이기 위한 콘텐츠를 기획하고 Eon Studio툴을 이용하여 개발한 영어교육게임을 제안한다.

Even if the need for English education in Korea is on the rise, too various perspectives on English education and the government's lack of consistency in the English education policy are said to be a negative factor in improving the English communication skills. The purpose of this study, in line with the knowledge and information society, is to develop ontology modeling for knowledge map of English education methodology and to make a contribution to English education policy of the country.

본 연구는 대학 영어 교육에 다양한 멀티미디어를 활용함과 더불어, 온라인 학습관리시스템을 영어교육에 접목시킴으로써 상호 작용과 학습공동체 활동을 강조하는 다양한 기능들이 대학생들의 영어 학습태도와 결과에 어떠한 영향을 끼쳤는지를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구결과에 따르면 다양한 멀티미디어의 활용과 온라인 학습관리 시스템의 기능과 활동들을 통한 대학 영어수업이 학생들에게 영어수업에 대한 관심과 흥미를 높이고 보다 효과적으로 영어를 학습할 수 있는 경험을 제공해주었다고 할 수 있다.

In recent years, researchers have become increasingly interested in the creation and pedagogical use of English learner corpora. Many studies have shown that learner corpora can not only make a significant contribution to second language acquisition research but also contribute to the construction and evaluation of language tests by advancing our understanding of English learners. So far, however, little attention has been paid to the Korean EFL (English as a foreign language) learners' corpus. The Yonsei English Learner Corpus (YELC 2011) is a specialized, monolingual, and synchronic Korean EFL learner corpus that was developed by Yonsei University from 2011 to 2012. Over 3,000 Korean high school graduates (or equivalents) who were accepted by Yonsei University for their further studies participated in this project. It consists of 6,572 written texts (1,085,828 words) at nine different English proficiency levels. In this paper, we describe its compilation, and more specifically, how we have corpusized from a text archive to a corpus. After introducing the process of corpusization, we report arresting insights into the specific linguistic features that different proficiency levels of Korean learners of English have. This study also discusses the potential use of the YELC 2011 which is now freely available for research purposes.

The purpose of this study was to understand deeply the current circumstances of parents who took part in child-English Education through semantic analysis about 11 mothers' and their children's experiences in the individual depth interviews and group interviews. The obtained results of this study were as follows: First, mothers started their children's English education on the basis of the belief that English ability is an essential asset in the era of globalization, their experiences and the scheduled situation. Also they positively recognized the effect of English education when they could feel their children's learning improvements. Second, participants had experienced their children's education stress and economic burden. Third, participants had personal, social level desires for their children's proper English education. Through this study, it revealed the critical introspection about mothers' experiences and desires in child-English Education. And it alluded to necessity about continuous attention and debate in child-English Education.

This study aims to suggest more efficient ways of teaching English more related to but distinct from major English, based on the needs and awareness of the students of English Education Department. For this, interviews and surveys have been carried out targeting some English Education majors. The results show that the satisfaction level of students is relatively low, marking around the score '3'. While the satisfaction level about classroom environment including the multi-media equipment, and professors' teaching ability, quality and methods is higher compared with other factors, the improvement of English skills and interest-causing levels are lower on average. Besides, this study also includes the surveys on the needs of students for various teaching programs, differentiated classes and qualified instructors. Based on the results, this study makes three suggestions as follows; (1) the opening of some specific English classes for English-education majors (2) the development of English-conversation classes related to English-education majors (3) the development of communication-centered English reading based on English literature.

국제화 시대를 맞이하여 세계 공용어인 영어의 중요성이 부각되고 있다. 특히, 영어 교육의 학습 연령대는 점점 낮아지고 있는 추세이며, 이에 동반하여 저 연령층 영어 교육 콘텐츠가 출시되고 있다. 하지만 현재 저 연령층을 대상으로 출시되는 콘텐츠들은 연령에 맞지 않는 교육 자료를 제시하거나 언어 학습에 필요한 상황적 다양성이 부족한 것이 현실이다. 본 논문에서는 딥러닝을 적용하여 사용자가 원하는 상황을 촬영한 영상에서 대상 연령에 적합한 영어 문장을 생성하고 읽어주는 학습 시스템을 제안한다. 본 시스템을 통하여 저 연령층에 적합한 영어 교육 환경을 제공하고, 저 연령층에게 나타나는 영어 교육의 불균형을 해소하고자 한다.

The purpose of this study was (1) to examine the present state of English education for the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics preparations, and (2) to identify the need for an English language training program for international sports events. With these goals in mind, the information was gathered from telephone interviews with educational administration officials who were responsible for international sporting events. For the survey, a total of twenty-six participants responded to a questionnaire designed to gauge their self-perceived English instructional needs for international sporting events. The principal results obtained from this study were: the Pyeongchang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games signed an agreement with an official supplier of language training services. In addition, Gangneung city is providing a 'Global Leaders' Academy' and English programs for taxi drivers and citizens. The result of the survey shows that the majority of participants reported that an English language training program is essential for international sporting events and it should be different from general English language education.

본 연구에서는 EBS 영어방송 및 콘텐츠를 사용하는 교사, 일반인, 학부모, 초 중등 학생을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 EBSe의 활용 실태를 살펴보고, 그 결과를 바탕으로 영어교육 방송과 관련한 시사점을 도출하려고 한다. 총 2,488명의 응답자를 대상으로 다음의 질문에 대한 응답을 중심으로 본 연구를 진행하였다. 1. EBS 영어 방송 사용 계기 및 활용 방법은 어떠한가? 2. EBS 영어 방송 플랫폼 활용 형태와 기간 및 빈도는 어떠한가?

Importance and necessity is enlarged due to globalization. So, English education is diverse and recently applies AR(Augmented Reality) technology to offer immersion and interest. Contents in this paper are Mobile AR contents for training infant English cognition. Our system displays teaching aid objects into 3D models, lets infants listen to English conversation and teaches them everyday English like a play. Considering infants that like games, this system adds an English game about each object of teach aids. To attract infants and parents interest persistingly, We give them immersion and interest by suggesting a different event at each step.
