Nutrient Utilization of Broiler Litter and Bakery By-product Ration in Sheep (육계분-제과부산물 발효 완전혼합사료(TMR)의 면양 체내에서의 영양소 이용성 평가)

  • This study was conducted to determine the effect of feeding a total mixed ration(TMR) of broiler litter(BL) and bakery by-product(BB) with additional BL or rice straw incorporated at 10% of dietary DM as a roughage source on behavior pattern, nutrient intake, digestibility, digestible nutrient intake, ruminal and blood parameters, and N balance of sheep. All the treatment diets were formulated to be isoenergetic[total digestible nutrients(TDN) 66.9%]. Compared with the conventional formulated feed - rice straw feeding system(control), feeding TMR with BL(T1) or rice straw(T2) at 10% of dietary DM resulted in reduced eating, ruminating and total chewing time(P<0.05), similar DM intake, low(P<0.05) digestible DM, OM, fiber and total nutrients intake, low(P<0.05) nutrients digestibilities except EE, similar ruminal characteristics(pH, VFA concentrations and ratios, efficiency of carbohydrate fermentation, NH3-N), and favorable N digestion and retention. There were no differences in the above parameters between T1 and T2 with the exception of increased(P<0.05) eating, ruminating and total chewing time for T2. These results suggested that a TMR of BL and BB with or without rice straw may replace the conventional formulated feed and rice straw in ruminant diets successfully and furthermore feeding the TMR with rice straw made sheep behavior pattern more favorable.

Effect of dietary level of brewer's dried grain on growth Performance and digestibility in growing pigs (육성돈 사료내 건조 맥주박의 첨가수준에 따른 옥수수-대두박 대체급여가 생산성과 영양소 소화율에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of dietary Hewer's dried grain supplementation on growth performance and digestibility in growing pigs. A total of forty-eight pigs (19.3 kg, average initial body weight) were used during 42 days. Dietary treatments included: 1) CON (basal diet), 2) BDG5 (basal diet + 5 % brewer's dried grain) and 3) BDC10 (basal diet + 10 % brewer's dried grain). Each treatment had 8 replicates of 2 pigs per pen in a randomized complete block design. Growth performance was not affected by treatments. However, in nutrient digestibility, DM digestibility was higher in BDG5 treatment than CON and BDG10 treatments. Nitrogen digestibility was the highest in BDG10 treatment and among another treatments, also, BDG5 treatment was higher than CON treatment. And, energy digestibility was higher in BDG10 treatment than CON treatment. In conclusion, dietary brewer's dried grain supplementation is not reduced on growth performance and improved on nutrient digestibility.

Effects of Dietary Astragalus Membranaces and Dried-Onion Meal on Growth Performance and Nutrient Digestibility in Pig Diets (돼지 사료내 황기와 건조양파분의 첨가가 성장 및 영양소 소화율에 미치는 효과)

  • Sixty $[(Duroc \times {Yorkshire)} \times {Landrace]}$ nursery pigs$(11.44\pm{0.13Kg}$ average initial body weight) were evaluated to know the effects of dietary Astragalus Membranaces and dried-onion meal complex(AO) on the growth performance and nutrient digestibility. There were three pigs per pen and five pens per treatment. Dietary treatments included 1) corn-SBM based diet(CON; basal diet), 2) AO 0.2(basal diet+0.2% AO), 3) AO 0.4(basal diet+0.4% AO) and 4) AO 0.6(basal diet+0.6% AO). ADG was increased as the concentration of AO in the diets was increased(Linear effect, P =0.01). DM and N digestibilities were increased as the concentration of AO in the diets was increased(Linear effect, p =0.01). Thirty $[(Duroc \times {Yorkshire)} \times$ Landrace] growing pigs $(37.97\pm{0.54Kg}$ average initial body weight) were fed dietary treatments included 1) corn-SBM based diet(CON; basal diet) and 2) TRT(basal diet+0.3% AO). Pigs fed TRT diet were significantly(P<0.05) increased in ADG, ADFI and gain/feed compared to pigs fed CON diet. DM and N digestibilites of pigs fed TRT diets was higher than that of pigs fed CON diet(P<0.05). In conclusion, the results obtained from this feeding trial suggest that the dietary AO for nursery and growing pigs had improved growth performance and nutrient digestibility.

  • This study is to investigate the performance of a new BNR process using predenitrification scheme focusing on nitrogen removal and the possibility of adapting a computer simulation scheme in BNR process development. By using a pre-denitrification basin, higher $COD/NO_3-N$ ratio could be sustained in this BNR process. The results of the investigation showed a SDNR value of 9.04mg/gMv/hr. In the anoxic tank, the average value of SPRR of 6.25mgP/gMv/hr was observed to be very sensitive to SCOD load of influents. By calibrating internal parameters (stoichiometric and kinetic parameters) of the simulation model, the results of simulation for various BNR processes gave good agreement with observed data. The major adjustment was given with three parameters, maximum specific growth rate of heterotrophic biomass, short chain fatty acid (SCFA) limit, and phosphorous release rate. With the series of simulations on varying operational conditions, the simulation by computer program can be a useful tool for process selection, and design and operation of municipal wastewater treatment plant.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the efficient nutrient removal process and to verify operation and design parameters in domestic sewage. Endogenous nitrate respiration (ENR) was used for denitrification of nitrate in return sludge without additional organic carbon source. ENR reactor before the anaerobic tank enable to reduce nitrate below 3 mg/L and increase phosphate release at anaerobic reaction. Primary effluent during pilot scale plant were shown as TCOD/TP ratio of 40~60 and TCOD/TKN ratio of 5~7. Effluent concentrations were 10 to 12mg/L as TN and 1mg/L as TP respectively. In lab scale experiments endogenous denitrification rate of ENR reactor ranges from 0.042 to $0.057gNO_3-N/gMv.d.$ $SP_{rel}/SCOD_{rm}$ was shown as from 0.13 to 0.17 in anaerobic reaction. These kinetic parameters are expected to be available for BNR(Biological Nutrient Removal) plant design and ENR reaction is available for nutrient removal in low strength wastewater.

Effects of Different Fat Sources on Fermentative Characteristics and Microbial Efficiency in the Rumen, and Nutrients Digestibility of Dairy Cows (지방첨가원에 따른 젖소의 반추위 발효성상 미생물 합성 효율 및 영양소 소화율 영향 연구)

  • Four Holstein cows were used in a 4 ${\times}$ 4 Latin square experiment to study effects of fat sources on rumen metabolism and digestibility of nutrients. All cows were fed a total mixed diets containing 60% silage and 40% concentrate. The four concentrates were formulated to contain either Megalac(MEG), formaldehyde-treated whole linseed(LIN), a mixture (50 : 50, oil basis) of fish oil and formaldehyde-treated whole linseed(MIX), or no fat source in the concentrate but 500g per day of linseed oil being infused into the duodemm (OIL). The rumen pH was lowest in OIL among the treatments(P < 0.05), but ammonia N concentration in the rumen was not significantly different among the treatments. The differences of total VFA, acetate, propionate, iso-butyrate and iso-valerate concentrations were not significant among the treatments. While, butyrate and valerate were highest in OIL and lowest in MEG(P < 0.05 and P <0.01, respectively). In addition, A:P ratio was also highest in OIL and lowest in MEG(P < 0.05). As expected, intake of nutrients(DM, OM, NDF and ADF) was lowest in OIL among the treatments(P < 0.01). However, all nutrients flow to the duodenum, and digestion in the rumen and total tract were not significantly different among the treatments. Intake of N was highest in MEG, but lowest in OIL treatment(P < 0.01). Duodenal flow of total N, nonammonia N and microbial N was not significantly different across the treatments. In addition, microbial synthesis and ammonia N and total N digestibility were not affected by different dietary fat sources. The present results show that fermentative characteristic and microbial efficiency in the rumen, and nutrients digestibility in the rumen and total tract were not depressed by supplementation of as much as 6% dietary fat sources.

  • 최근 현대인들은 식습관이 불규칙하고 서구화되면서, 건강상의 많은 문제를 겪고 있다. 이와 더불어 1인 가구의 증가와 간단한 구매 방법 등으로 인해 온라인 몰 사용자가 늘어나고 있다. 본 프로젝트는 이러한 추세를 바탕으로, 사용자가 자주 사용하는 온라인 몰에 축적된 데이터를 기반으로 사용자의 식습관을 분석한다. 뿐만 아니라, 이를 바탕으로 구매 패턴을 분석하여 사용자의 영양 상태를 개선시킬 수 있는 상품 추천 서비스를 제공한다. 사용자는 자주 사용하는 온라인 쇼핑몰에서 상품 구매를 함과 동시에 구매한 상품에 대해 시각화된 영양소 분석 결과와 구매 패턴 분석 결과를 제공받을 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 개발한 API를 통해 사용자는 부족한 영양소를 쉽게 파악하여 효율적으로 건강관리를 할 수 있게 된다. 더 나아가, 자신의 구매 패턴을 파악할 수 있게 되어 현명한 소비 습관을 만드는 데에 기여할 수 있다.

Studies on Extrusion Procedures of Wheat Bran and Dietary Levels of Phosphorus in Nutrients Availability of Broiler Chicks (육계용 병아리에서 밀기울의 사출과 인의 결여수준이 영양소의 이용성에 미치는 영향)

  • Dietary levels of 0%, 0225%, 0.45% inorganic phosphorus in the form of tricalcium phosphate were included in two different experimental diets, which contains 40% of wheat bran with or without extrusion. It is to examine the effects of extruded wheat bran containing different Bevels of inorganic phosphorus on the performance of broiler chicks, including the nutrient availabilities, compared with that of the diet containing non-extruded wheat bran. The results are as follows; 1. Regardless dietary levels of inorganic phosphorus, the weight gain in general was higher for the groups fed non-extruded wheat bran but little significance was seen between the groups of extruded and the non-extruded. However, the effect of dietary inclusion of inorganic phosphorus on the weight gain was evident and the gain was higher in the groups receiving the higher levies of inorgainc phosphorus but failed to observe the significant difference between the added groups of 0.225% and 0.45% of inorganic phosphorus, suggesting that a considerable amount of phytin phosphorus in wheat bran is available to meet the requirement. 2. For the feed intake, there was a tendency for the groups fed extruded wheat bran consuming more feed, compared with that of the non-extruded but little significance was observed. This was also true between the groups of receiving 0.225% and 0.45% inorganic phosphorus t The feed efficiency was improved by the addition of inorgainc phosphorus, but failed to observe the significance between the added groups. 4. The dry matter digestibility was improved in proportion to increasing the levels of inorganic phosphorus for the both groups of extruded and the non-extruded This indicates that addition of extruded wheat bran has little effects on improving the digestibility. 5. Within the added groups of 0.225% and 0.45% inorganic phosphorus, the protein digestibility was increased with including the extruded wheat bran in the diet However, the effect on body weight gain was not evident. 6. The calcium and phosphorus content of tibia was shown the tendency of increasing with increasing the dietary levels of inorganic phosphorus but close correlation with dietary levels of inorganic phosphorus was not noted in tibia contents of calcium and phosphorus.

Effects of Supplemental Bio-Active Substances on the Growth Performance, Nutrient Utilization, Blood Characteristics, Microflora Population and Diarrhea Frequency of Weanling Pigs (생리활성 물질(쑥, 두충 및 어성초)의 첨가가 이유자돈의 성장, 영양소 이용율, 혈액특성, 장내 미생물 및 설사빈도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of a supplemented mixture of herbs (artemisia, eucommia ulmoids and houttuynia cordata) on the growth performance, nutrient utilization, blood characteristics, microflora population and diarrhea frequency in weanling pigs. Eighty-four pigs were randomly allotted into one of the four dietary treatments, each of which had 3 replicates. Experimental diets were prepared by adding (0.0, 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0%) a mixture of artemisia, eucommia ulmoids and houttuynia cordata to a commercial feed, and were given to pigs for 42 days. Daily feed intake was significantly increased in the groups supplemented with the mixture at 1.0% group and 2.0% group. Digestibility was significantly increased in 1.0% for protein and ether extract, and in 1.0% group and 2.0% group for NFE. Total bacillus and lactobacillus sp. were significantly (p<0.05) improved in 1.0% group and 2.0% group, respectively. Glucose concentrations of serum increased significantly (p<0.05) in 0.5% group and 1.0% group, and HDL increased significantly (p<0.05) in 1.0% group and 2.0% group. Diarrhea decreased by treatments except control (p<0.05). It is concluded that pigs fed the diet supplemented with 1.0% mixture of herbs can improve daily body weight gain, feed efficiency, nutrient utilizations and diarrhea frequency in pigs.

카나다산 보리에 의한 옥수수 대치수준이 육성계의 증체율 사료효율 영양소 이용율 및 경제성에 미치는 영향

  • 1. 카나다산 보리의 아미노산조성은 국산보리의 그것과 큰 차이가 없으나 단백질의 함량은 12$\%$로서 국산 보리의 10$\%$보다 약간 높았다. 증체량은 초생추시기에 보리 40$\%$수준이 낮았으나 중추 및 대추시기에는 각 처리구들 사이에 통계적 유의성이 없었으며 2. 사료섭취량과 사료효율은 전시험기간에 걸쳐서 역시 각 처리구 사이에 통계적인 유의성이 없었다. 3. 경제성 분석 결과, 0$\~$6주령에서 보리 40$\%$ 수준이 다소 비싸게 사료비가 소요되었으며 전 육성기간에 걸쳐 5개의 처리에 따른 유의성은 검출되지 않았다. 4. 중추사료의 대사시험 결과 고형물 질소축적률, 조섬유, NFE의 대사율은 각 처리구별로 유사하였으나, 조지방의 소화율은 보리수준이 높아질 수록 소화율도 향상됨을 보여 주었다(P<0.01).
