Course recommendation system using deep learning (딥러닝을 이용한 강좌 추천시스템)

  • We study a learner-customized lecture recommendation project using deep learning. Recommendation systems can be easily found on the web and apps, and examples using this feature include recommending feature videos by clicking users and advertising items in areas of interest to users on SNS. In this study, the sentence similarity Word2Vec was mainly used to filter twice, and the course was recommended through the Surprise library. With this system, it provides users with the desired classification of course data conveniently and conveniently. Surprise Library is a Python scikit-learn-based library that is conveniently used in recommendation systems. By analyzing the data, the system is implemented at a high speed, and deeper learning is used to implement more precise results through course steps. When a user enters a keyword of interest, similarity between the keyword and the course title is executed, and similarity with the extracted video data and voice text is executed, and the highest ranking video data is recommended through the Surprise Library.

Characteristics of Smartphone User in Application Usage and Implications for Applications Business Model (스마트폰 사용자들의 앱 이용 특성과 앱 비즈니스 모델에의 시사)

  • As the smartphone market grows, the needs for its new business model are also increased. However, most previous researches on smartphone applications focused on Technology Acceptance Model(TAM) and Rogers' Diffusion of Innovation Theory so that there was lack of researches on characteristics for actual smartphone users. In this research, we divided the smartphone applications into five category functions (Call & Text/Music & Video/Information Search/Game/Social Network Service (SNS)). We analyzed characteristic differences of users who used the each application category and found that the differences were statistically significant in both demographic and smartphone usage characteristics (frequency of downloading applications, and download experience of paid applications). Additionally, the smartphone usage characteristic is closely related to the usage duration. The representative result is that the characteristics of people used Music & Video function actively were women in their 20s who downloaded applications more than three times per week, and had a download experience of paid applications. It is positive result for players in the application markets, because it means the users are willing to pay for downloading the paid applications. However, large companies already occupied most of the market share in music applications so that small and medium-sized players should develop an innovative and distinguishable business model in order to success. We believe this research result would provide significant implications for the players in planning the successful business model and developing an user-specific application product.

SNS and Social Journalism during the Egyptian Revolution: A Case Study of A Facebook Page, (이집트 민주화 혁명에서 SNS와 소셜 저널리즘: 페이스북의 사례분석을 중심으로)

  • The advent of Social Journalism coincided with the rise of social media to create and deliver news information; as a type of civic journalism, social journalism may be characterized as a new form of information gathering and news reporting which is fed by citizens creating news information through their use social networking services (SNSs). The current study analyzed a Facebook page called, to determine how this page was utilized during the onset of the citizen movement for the Egyptian democratic revolution to produce news, to facilitate interaction among the public and to deliver the news under the form of networked journalism. Each post uploaded onto the Facebook page from January 27 till February 2, 2011 was coded in its category, content and the contextual frame of the news. The results of the study showed that during the first week, straight news rather than those with opinions was produced most frequently. The research findings of the current study suggest that in a society of political turmoil, such as in Egypt and other Arabic countries, when the institutionalized media are controlled severely by the government or other forces, SNSs can perform journalistic media roles which create and distribute news information representing facts and reality, and simultaneously facilitate the public's interactions on social and political issues.

  • The purpose of the study is to investigate a usability of using fashion and beauty service and suggest better user experience on Instagram's newly released mobile video platform, IGTV. The study expects to be a resource of improving the usability on fashion and beauty contents on IGTV and encourage further research for suggesting better guidelines. As a research method, it will experiment current mobile video service first with literature review. Afterwards, the research conducted tasks and in-depth interview with eight Instagram users to evaluate a usability of using fashion and beauty service on IGTV. As a result, it is able to derive two plans that needed improvement. Firstly, IGTV is required to have high accessibility for user's to use service longer and intuitive user experience. Secondly, unlike previous service that Instagram have offered, IGTV need to differentiate to share and get information of fashion and beauty trends.

ANS responses in Negative Emotions Induced by Audio-visual Film Clips (시청각 동영상에 의해 유발된 부정적 감성에 따른 자율신경계 반응)

  • Negative emotions play an important function as to human's existence. In this research, we employed the audio-visual film clips to induce negative emotions and examined the classified responses in the autonomic nervous system(ANS) due to each negative emotion.30 adults(22.6 years $old{\pm}1.24$, 15 males and 15 females) took part in this experiment. Through the preliminary experiment, 2 minutes film's stimuli were selected as the emotion-induced stimuli. During the period when participants were viewing and listening to the selected movie, EDA and ECG were examined as soon as one stimulus was displayed, participants were tested by completing the psychological appraisals of their experienced emotion due to each emotional stimulus. With regard to the result of analyzing the psychological responses, each negative emotion appropriately and effectively induced its target emotion. While concerning the result of analyzing ANS responses, each negative emotion induced its respective activation in ANS. What is more, compared with other types of negative emotional stimuli, the scaring stimulus induced higher activation of the sympathetic nervour system(SNS) as to the indexes in EDh and ECG. This research made segmentation of ANS responses to each negative emotion, which has its significance.

Status and effectiveness of online dental role-play images and dental ASMR videos (온라인 치과 롤플레이 영상 및 치과 ASMR 영상의 이용 현황과 효과 분석)

  • This study aimed to compare the perception of dental role-play or dental ASMR videos between the general public and dental personnel, to determine whether they are suitable for mass media or educational media, and to identify guidelines for video production. The survey consent form was agreed on using SNS for the general public and dental personnel, 236 ordinary people and 232 dental officers who said that they watched dental ASMR videos were analyzed. The questionnaire consisted of 27 questions for the general public and 31 for dental personnel. Data were analyzed using the chi-square test and the Independent T-test using SPSS 25.0 ver. The viewing experience of 'dental ASMR videos' was significantly higher among dentists (84.7%) than among the general population (71.5%) (p<0.001). Overall, 53.8% of the general public were interested in watching dental ASMR videos, and 47.8% of dental personnel acquired clinical information from them.. Overall, 64.8% of the general public and 65.5% of the dental workforce felt that such technical videos should be produced under the guidance of experts in the field to provide accurate technical information. It is necessary to avoid indiscriminate video production with inaccurate information produced by non-experts and to continuously monitor dental ASMR videos dental institutions for better quality of the videos.

  • Recently, photo sharing and publishing based Social Network Sites(SNSs) are increasingly attracting the attention of academic and industry researches. Unlike the face recognition environment addressed by existing works, face annotation problem under SNSs is differentiated in terms of daily updated images database, a limited number of training set and millions of users. Thus, conventional approach may not deal with these problems. In this paper, we proposed a face annotation method for sharing and publishing photographs that contain faces under a social network service using random projection, non-linear regression and representational state transfer. Our experiments on several databases show that the proposed method records an almost constant execution time with comparable accuracy of the PCA-SVM classifier.

Social Viewing Motivations, Satisfaction, and Continuous Use Intention: Moderating Effects of Communication Behavior (동영상의 사회적 시청 동기와 만족도 및 지속의도에서 커뮤니케이션 행위의 조절효과 분석)

  • Social viewing has become an increasingly common viewing pattern by combining SNS use with video-watching. Accordingly, social viewing has attracted much scholarly attention, but a more comprehensive understanding of the process and effects of social viewing is warranted. For this, this study incorporated social viewing motivations, viewer satisfaction, and the continuous use intention, taking the viewer's communicative behavior into account as a possible moderator. This study conducted an online survey (N=334). Among four motivations, enjoyment, sharing and expression were significant predictors of program and communication satisfaction. Information, however, was only associated with program satisfaction but not with communication satisfaction. The moderating effects of three communication behaviors, production, sharing, and reception, were discussed in the relationship between user motivations and viewing satisfaction and continuous use intention. Production behaviors played a significant moderating role in between enjoyment, information, sharing, and communication satisfaction. Sharing moderatied information, sharing, and program satisfaction, whereas reception was not a significant moderator.

Design of Flipped Learning using Blog (블로그를 사용한 플립러닝 설계)

  • A variety of experiments are being conducted with the advent of Learning Model for flipped-learning. In order to apply flipped-learning as a method of teaching, most of them require a pre-prepared learning video. In this case, there is the burden to create the samples of a 13 weeks, except for the mid term and the final exam in college. These systems also make it difficult to change learning content. In this paper, we suggest using blogs to improve the characteristics that existing flippling systems are less adaptable to environmental changes. A blog can be a good thing for learners who are comfortable with the Internet, In this study, we experiment with flipped-learning, which applies blog to one subject. As a result, we would like to evaluate the meaningful learning effects of this study.
