  • In this paper, the combination of ultraviolet and infrared sensors based design for flame signal detection algorithms was proposed with the application of light-wavelength from burning. And, the performance result of image detection was compared by an ultraviolet sensor, an infrared sensor, and the proposed dual-mode sensors(combination of ultraviolet and infrared sensors).

  • In order to measure the retina thickness, the retina photographing system and the multi-channel high speed image data acquisition system is developed. This system requires the optical processing techniques and the high speed image processing techniques. The HeNe laser beam is projected the retina in artificial eye and then we sensed the reflected laser signal using APD array. The laser projection system on retina using optical instruments is implemented. In order to project the plane laser beam on retina, laser photographing system used the polygon mirror for horizontal scanning and the galvano mirror for vertical scanning. We acquired retina images in each channel of APD array, transferred computer using PCI interface the image data after real-time A/D converting.

  • As the performance of the spaceborne SAR has been dramatically enhanced and demonstrated through advanced missions such as TerraSAR and LRO(Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter), the need for highly sophisticated and efficient SAR processor is also highlighted. In Korea, the activity of SAR researches has been mainly concerned with SAR image applications and the current SAR raw data studies are mostly limited to stripmap mode cases. The first Korean spaceborne SAR is scheduled to be operational from 2010 and expected to deliver vast amount of SAR raw data acquired from multiple operational scenarios including ScanSAR mode. Hence there will be an increasing demand to implement ground processing systems that enable to analyze the acquired ScanSAR data and generate corresponding images. In this paper, we have developed an efficient ScanSAR processor that can be directly applied to spaceborne ScanSAR mode data. The SPECAN(Spectrum Analysis) algorithm is employed for this purpose and its performance is verified through RADARSAT-1 ScanSAR raw data taken over Korean peninsular. An efficient quick-look processing is carried out to produce a wide-swath SAR image and compared with the conventional RDA processing case.

  • 대부분의 영상은 다양한 이유(노이즈, 전송과정 중 발생하는 문제 등)로 인해 항상 좋은 품질을 보여주진 못한다. 이렇게 훼손된 영상의 복원은 다양한 정보를 제공한다. 이런 훼손된 영상을 복원하기 위해 Median filtering과 같은 기존의 처리 방법들은 주변 화소(Pixel)를 평활화(Smoothing) 처리를 하기 때문에 noise 처리에는 좋으나 원 영상의 중요한 에지 성분까지도 평활화 처리를 함으로써 에지 부분의 공간적 이동을 초래할 수 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 image inpainting 방법이 제안되고 있으며, inpainting 기법에는 편미분 방정식(PDE)을 이용한 방법, 텍스쳐 병합 기반의 방법들이 있다. 그러나 이러한 inpainting 기법들은 연산 수행시간이 많이 소요되는 단점이 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 image inpainting을 수행시 소요되는 연산시간을 줄이는 fast image inpainting 알고리즘을 제안한다.

  • The author proposes algorithm which can use reduce processing time image restoration than original one by using modified Nagao filter, eliminating the part of modifying process of previous Nagao filter modified in disposing degraded image. The proposed image is as same as original Nagao filter image but the processing time is 10 times faster than original one.

  • 본 연구는 한국인 뇌MRI영상을 이용하여 대뇌 영역별 분석 프로토콜과 정량 평가방법을 개발하여 정상인을 대상으로 뇌용적량을 정량 분석하고자 한다. 뇌MRI영상 분석 프로토콜을 최적화하기 위해 먼저 뇌용적 변화에 있어 평가방법을 선정하고, VBM 후처리과정은 MRI영상 신호불균질성 교정, 조직세분화 방법, 대뇌 표준영상 제작, 신호 편평화(smoothing) 과정을 단계별로 최적화하였다. 이 정량분석 프로토콜은 정상인과 뇌질환 환자의 뇌용적 비교뿐만 아니라 환자 약물 치료 전·후에 나타나는 용적 변화를 정량적으로 평가하는 연구에 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

  • In this paper, we propose the systolic array architecture for the vector median filter. In the color image processing, the vector signal (i.e. the color) consists of three elements, red, green and blue. The vector median filter is very effective to utilize the correlation among red, green and blue elements. The computational complexity of the proposed architecture for computing the vector median of N vector signals is (N+2) clock periods compared to the (3N+1) clock periods in the previous method. In addition to, the input vector signals can be loaded in serial in the proposed architecture. In the previous method, N input vector signals should be loaded to the vector median filter in parallel at the first clock. The proposed architecture is implemented with FPGA.

  • 워터마크의 실현방법은 크게 두 가지로 나누어지는데, 하나는 공간영역에서 처리방법이고 다른 하나는 주파수영역에서 처리방법이다. 초기에는 공간영역에서 처리가 많이 연구되었으나 공간영역에서의 워터마크 삽입방법은 주로 least significant bit(LSB)을 조작하기 때문에 주파수영역의 방법보다 각종 신호처리에 의해 워터마크가 쉽게 없어지는 단점이 생긴다. 따라서 현재는 그런 단점들을 잘 극복할 수 있는 방법으로 주파수 영역에서의 워터마크 삽입 방법이 많이 쓰인다. 본 논문에서는 디지털 영상을 위한 다해상도 이산 웨이브렛 변환을 사용한 워터마킹 방법을 제안하였다.

Effects Analysis of DRAM for Digital Signal Processor Performance (디지털 신호처리 프로세서의 성능에 대한 DRAM의 영향 분석)

  • Currently, digital signal processing systems are used extensively in image processing, audio processing, filtering, and equalizations, etc. In addition, the importance of DRAM, which has a great influence on the performance of an digital signal processor has been increased, making research on DRAM actively conducted in industry and academia. Therefore, it is important to have a more accurate DRAM model in order to obtain reliable results when evaluating the performance of a digital signal processor through simulation. In this paper, we developed a digital signal processor simulator capable of inter-working with a DRAM simulator. With the simulator, we analyzed the influence of the DRAM model which operates correctly on a cycle-by-cycle basis, on the performance of the digital signal processor by using the UTDSP digital signal benchmark.

Speech Activity Detection using Lip Movement Image Signals (입술 움직임 영상 선호를 이용한 음성 구간 검출)

  • In this paper, A method to prevent the external acoustic noise from being misrecognized as the speech recognition object is presented in the speech activity detection process for the speech recognition. Also this paper confirmed besides the acoustic energy to the lip movement image signals. First of all, the successive images are obtained through the image camera for personal computer and the lip movement whether or not is discriminated. The next, the lip movement image signal data is stored in the shared memory and shares with the speech recognition process. In the mean time, the acoustic energy whether or not by the utterance of a speaker is verified by confirming data stored in the shared memory in the speech activity detection process which is the preprocess phase of the speech recognition. Finally, as a experimental result of linking the speech recognition processor and the image processor, it is confirmed to be normal progression to the output of the speech recognition result if face to the image camera and speak. On the other hand, it is confirmed not to the output the result of the speech recognition if does not face to the image camera and speak. Also, the initial feature values under off-line are replaced by them. Similarly, the initial template image captured while off-line is replaced with a template image captured under on-line, so the discrimination of the lip movement image tracking is raised. An image processing test bed was implemented to confirm the lip movement image tracking process visually and to analyze the related parameters on a real-time basis. As a result of linking the speech and image processing system, the interworking rate shows 99.3% in the various illumination environments.
